Summerhouse in North Somerset

Well done to Kaylea and Karen you were both amazing. Especially as you had to take care of the bar and also look after the wake.

The menu looked great so I was looking forward to my visit with my partner. I ordered the club sandwich and he ordered hunters chicken. We felt there could have at least been peas added with the hunters chicken and the chicken itself was gristly and quite tough, he left half of it. My club sandwich was a dry baguette with chicken that looked like it was packaged pre cooked sliced chicken pieces. There were a couple of pieces of lettuce at the bottom and even less mayonnaise. I only ate half of it because I was hungry. The chips were nice however and the food came out quick. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially when I went to order via the app for dessert as we thought we’d give it a go (and we were still hungry from not eating all our food) but after a few attempts of trying the app which kept saying there was an error I went downstairs to order at the bar instead. This wasn’t the venues fault but a technical issue. The mint chocolate torte was ok, though the top part was a little slimy and fell away from the biscuit base. My partner said the trifle cheesecake was nice. It wasn’t a terrible terrible experience and we might try it again sometime and just have something else off the menu but at the moment we won’t be rushing back based on our first visit.

Food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. Staff very friendly and accommodating, one of he bar staff helped make sure my blue light discount went through as I was having issues with my phone. Place was tidy and clean and general atmosphere was welcomig and friendly, even with kids. Would definitely recommend. 10/10

Tried the ultimate southern fried chicken burger and it was lush! Can’t beat a hash brown in a burger. Served by Beth & Honey.

My aunts steak was tough and fatty and I am not sure how you run out of something simple like cream for desserts ( especially as there is a shop right opposite!) Sp a few very basic things that let it down but overall food was okay

Staff very welcoming, especially Tracy, and also Beth, who were working under trying conditions. The pub has fairly recently abolished restaurant service in the upstairs area, with a reduction in dedicated waiting staff, leading to more casual drinkers in that area. With the ability to order drinks for table service, this means the regular bar staff are forced to leave the bar to take drinks upstairs. Inevitably this adds to the waiting time to be served downstairs. Tracy was working harder than ever, but still managing friendly customer service. This pub needs more Tracy's.

Firstly when I made the booking, I advised that there were members of our party , that were disabled, and could not do stairs , so you can imagine my surprise when I got to the Summerhouse and shown to our table . When we last went the staff would take both your drink and food orders at the table. Not any more. You have to go downstairs and place the orders , I did not get all my meal that I paid for , they left an item off even though I paid the extra for chips . I am afraid because of the setup now we will not be going back . They have removed the carvery on a Sunday which was an amazing money earner.

Our company Weathered Oak Studios recently used the Summerhouse pub to do some interview filming for a local mental health campaign and it was the perfect place to do so. The staff were very accommodating and couldn’t do enough to help us. We will definitely use again.

Lovely staff, great atmosphere, and good NGCI/GF menu. My husband and I come here often for work during the day, or a meal. We're often served by Tracy who is always a delight!

A lovely pub but received a parking charge notice as I completely missed any prompts (accepting this is my bad) - have emailed the pub team in the hope the charge can be overturned given I was indeed a valid patron. Here’s hoping.

We were treated to a meal by our granddaughter. We had a surf and turf and a sirloin steak. Both steaks were tough and full of gristle. Not tender as expected. The rest of the meal was like it had been cooked the day before. Very disappointed

Went here for the first time on mother's day. It was the only place I could find that wasn't fully booked. Perhaps my experience here will help to explain why this was the case. The pub's layout is interesting but maybe not ideal for carrying food up to various levels to diner's tables. The app and QR code method of ordering food and drinks is a huge time waster, I wish to see the end of this total gimmick very soon. Not all of the drinks are on the app and those that are sold out will be notified to your table eventually, wasting more time. Same issue with the food on the menu. Which brings me to the matter of the food. It was lousy and looked nothing like the pictures on the menu and the menu lied about the meals content, ie one large pig in blanket is not a 40mm long chipolata with a smear of bacon down one side of it . Extra large roast dinner is the same ta standard, it just arrives on a bigger plate with the same micro gravy boat. The fried egg on the gammon was probably fresh earlier in the day, but now it's latex. Yes, it really bounced. This level of catering is below the standard of 1970's school dinners, I'm not joking. So there are a few faults with this venue. The app and the time it takes to sort out what is actually is available for sale. The delivery time for food to reach the table and finally the food quality, which is abysmal. I'll never go there again.

We went for Mothers Day, there was 9 of us. Despite us being a big group, service was fast, food was hot. Everyone enjoyed their meals, even my fussy 6 year old.

Nice place usually - bar staff great. Steak took an hour and a half and was well done, not medium rare as ordered. No onion rings either as the menu promises. Had to scran as needed to catch a train but jaws aching from the steak still.

Absolutely amazing service. I have a few allergies and dietary requirements. But the manager, Beth, took me through my options and was very kind!!!!

There was 6 of use that went for lunch on Saturday lunch time the service was excellent the food was great and nice and hot ,we decided to have dessert which was lovely too,a big thank you to Gary E for a warm welcoming and nothing was to much trouble 😀 we will be back.

We went for the new quiz night here yesterday and had a great evening. The new landladies are so friendly and could not have been more welcoming. It had gone downhill before, so numbers of customers had dwindled. It would be great to get more customers for the quiz. Will be eating here before the next quiz which is to be Monday 24th March.

I am speechless I don’t really know what I was served!

It is really terrible that they have now stopped taking orders at the table and you have to either use an App or order at the bar which can take an age. Items that we required did not appear on the App which we had to ask the staff why, we were told that they were not currently available, so it is easier to leave and go elsewhere. Please go back to the way it was with personal attention.

Food was cold, very expensive. Send my food back as it was cold and it came back out colder. Would definitely give it a miss

Came today with my family and was pretty much served child’s portions and the burgers were very dry and hard. Was so good before I don’t know what’s happened!!

Took my mum out for some lunch and it was lovely. Food was delicious and the gentleman, Jamie I believe, serving us was so friendly!

Fantastic service from Tracey as always today!! I only come in because Tracey is here. Great welcome always knows your order and the only person who ever does a check back to make sure everything is ok!! Tracey is an amazing member of staff and it’s funny because if I’m unlucky enough to come in on her day off there are always more members of staff on and visible than when she is on her own so that says it all really !!

Met such a a lovely member of staff today, Tracy. She's carrying the whole premisis ALONE and every customer here has been more than satisfied with her hospitality. This wonderful lady has catered to customers from the food, to the drinks. Never met such a kind and friendly person in a bar. I hope the manager can support her with another member of staff to help because running 3 floors, kitchen and bar is impossible alone... Yet Tracey it a hero for managing it all. The staff here are certainly the highlight of the place. Hopefully they're valued more than they are now.

I love this pub! It’s a real balance of decent food, a range of ales and friendly staff. Beth and her team are always happy to help, and we are always greeted with a smile 😃 The pool table is a great addition and it was good to see a crowd enjoying a game on Sat night. We have always had pleasant visits, and would recommend a visit, whether you’re with a bunch of friends or looking for a cozy corner for two. Well done Beth, you’ve made a real positive change to this pub. We will be back!

Ordered by app, 1 item unavailable so chose a cheaper item - no refund of difference made. All steaks over done. Staff were friendly and polite, service was quick and efficient

I have been coming here for several years now. Cant fault the place. Good food, good relaxing atmosphere. I brought my mum along and she also approves! Good service and friendly staff. Special mention for Tracy who usually serves us, who always goes above and beyond.

Lunch deal-not a deal at all. £8.50 per head for a smaller than child's portion. Egg overcooked and still served with the smallest loin of bacon/gammon I've ever seen. Could count the chips on the plate. Not a deal for the customer...a cut price deal for the profit making pub. Crap quality and tiny portions for the price. We could get 2 for £12/13 in most pubs and have a much better portion size.

Beth and the team are amazing! Quick service and a friendly smile is ensured coming here. We are here every week for hockey and wouldn’t think about going elsewhere.

The pub was nice and friendly. The staff were friendly when they brought the food over. We asked if we could pay for a corn on the cob as my toddler dropped his on the floor during our meal, but the staff member didn't come back to us, so we didn't get another one. We stacked our plates for them to be taken back to the kitchen, and they weren't sat on the table for too long, but I expect it helped being sat right next to the serving hatch. The wait for our main meals wasn't too long. Which was good as we had 3 hungry under 3s! But the wait for the dessert was quite a long one. There were 2 highchairs by our table, which we needed to use and both were broken, so we did use one of them for the 2 year old, but the 10 month old just sat on his mums lap for the majority of the meal. Overall, it was a good experience. Prices were a little higher than expected, but the food quality and amount of food were good for the price. I did an online order, instead of ordering at the bar and I found that the full menu wasn't available online. There is a car park, which you have to put your registration on a tablet inside the pub to use, otherwise you will get a parking fine. It is very close to worle train station and on a bus route. Pub is large, over floors. There is an outside seating area and plenty of tables inside, but I did find that a lot of tables were reserved.

5 of us visited on 11/02/25 for a meal. The food was great could not fault it. The staff were brilliant and very helpful. Must keep going

This visit was no different from the last. All good was available. We didn’t have to wait too long and all food came out together and hot (we were a party of 11 inc. toddler). The service was excellent with smiles and nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend and would not hesitate to come again.
