Lovely food and very reasonable prices

Stayed here with our motorhome. Checked with staff on arrival after inputting registration number Staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming. Had a few drinks and food which was delicious Would definitely recommend and will return in the near future

We booked a table for 5pm for Sunday carvery Nowhere in the menu does it state carvery finishes at 3. On arrival there was no mention that there was no carvery available it was only when we asked we were told it had finished in a sort of ‘you should know that’ manner. We left without eating

Food is 'ok'. Deep fried items overcooked/using old oil. Service was warm and friendly and quick.

Had my Birthday dinner here, with my family. I really enjoyed the food and drink. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food portions were generous and the atmosphere welcoming and friendly. We will be coming back again, and recommending it to my friends.

Come here often with friends and family. Food is always hot, and service is quick. Staff are always smiling and will go out of their way to ensure you have a great time.

Went with friends for the curry night. As a vegan only one option, better than none. The curry was extremely hot, ok for me but far too hot for a lot of people. It was mostly sauce, not much vegetable content or anything else. Had to add the rice to it to soak up the sauce, was tempted to ask for a spoon. It came with tough sprouting shoots and some nice rice crackers. Had the apple crumble and vegan ice cream. The crumble was overcooked and completely tasteless. Rice crackers the only good bit of the meal. Very disappointing.

Really nice place to have a refreshing drink and good food. Nice atmosphere, live music, lively people, plenty of seating, good dance floor. Toilets are maintained clean. Nice staff

Meal and service was good. However just received a parking fine for using your customer car park! There were apparently sigs but I did not know they related to customers so did not waste time reading them. After all, one expects to park free at a restaurant when one is a client! If such an unusual system is in place, the least staff could do is to point out the bizarre requirements to register ones car! I have sent a complaint to the establishment in the hope they can get the ticket cancelled, but my phone conversation did not give much confidence that they would make the effort.

I have eaten here once a week for over a year now and always find the food, staff and atmosphere excellent. Without doubt Val really should be manager.

Purely average at best! All meals were basic in taste and quality and also small In portion size. Drinks were way overpriced (ie, one pint and 3 soft drinks £16) 😳 and they werent great quality either. Staff were good but could have been alot more attentive as got food order wrong and stood chatting instead of serving. Could do much better in every avenue but a very disappointing visit.

Went here for a drink with my partner and unfortunately didn't notice signs that car reg needed inputting so a week later received a fine! I appealed and reviewed warning others ! Received a reply from Summerhouse asking me to contact them! They were extremely kind and understanding, offering to appeal on my behalf! Fortunately my appeal was successful! I'm very grateful for the way the staff treated me and will definitely be going back! It's also a great pub! Haven't eaten there in a long time but definitely will be soon!

The food was delicious and portion size was great. I wish the midweek carvery was still available as I would like to take my husband for one. I will be taking him anyway as it is such good food.

The staff could not do enough to help, they made sure we had the table we wanted and it was in the best position for us. When my drink I had ordered via the app wasn't available they sorted me an alternative quickly and without fuss. The only issue I have had was ordering the gins I wanted via the app as they are not listed, but otherwise we had a wonderful time and they made sure whether we wanted to book a table for the next England game before we left.

Wow what can I say firstly I would like to say I like the parking system a lot better then the other one! Even when entering the car park you see the signs everywhere as well as inside the pub which is a nice reminder to enter your registration in the computer inside the pub. The facilities of the pub are great as well we even had a little game of darts. The affordability and value are great as well we order food and drinks even when ordering at the bar for drinks the staff were friendly and happy. They even had a nice beer garden I will have to come back when it is not raining to try it out 😉 Makes made my visit is the fact that the summerhouse of DOG FRIENDLY they even have a dog treats, water bowls and even a cute little doggy menu ❤️ Well done to the summerhouse keep up the hard work.

The carvery meal was delicious and the staff very accommodating. The restaurant and toilet facilities are clean and pleasant. Queuing at the car park ticket machine is not ideal in bad weather, but I understand why it is there. Looking forward to our next meal there.

Visited for the first time had lunch the lady at the bar was so nice helpful and welcoming the food arrived very quickly and was,quickly eaten by a hungry 3 year old Will certainly return for food again .

Whilst on holiday visited the Summerhouse, enjoyed the food, good atmosphere but wasn't aware of the parking restrictions. Came home to receive a parking fine, has left a sour taste.

Avoid! Entire meal was undercooked & the only member of staff that was on duty complained to us the entire time that she hated working there. There was also an extremely drunk guy in there causing a scene & for some reason he was still being served alcohol & wasn’t asked to leave (this was at 2pm in the afternoon). I will certainly never be going back!

Eaten here many times at lunch, always freshly cooked tasty meals. Decided to try the restaurant one evening, fab , friendly service and food spot on too. Highly recommend

Last weekend I came to the pub with my wife to meet up with a work colleague. Typed out reg in the machine and went about our afternoon catching up. Today I've received a £60 fine for 'breaching parking terms and conditions'. Will avoid this place in future as paying an extra £60 makes 4 pints very expensive.

Food was not great, chips were over done, chicken was over done bread was like rubber, and the gammon was tough. Not impressed, but the service could be better as there was only 2 people serving during a busy period and the atmosphere is OK at best. Just needs a chef that can actually cook.

Julie took excellent care of our needs and was helpful explaining the menu options. Food was excellent - after three weeks in England, I have become a fan of beef pies.

I had the most beautiful meal here. I had the halloumi and red pepper baguette with spicy maple syrup.... really tasty. It says rating of heat 3 but it was just perfect. The service was fantastic and also not a pong wait for the food

Shocking service no forks in the pot so asked for more with a reply there is some there ordered hunters chicken and it came without BBQ sauce when asked the waitress about it she told me it was over on the side and couldn’t see my issue asked where the side of onion rings were which I ordered they missed so asked as we were eating if they could bring them over and pay on way out then she gets her college to bring me over 2 onion rings and laughing to which we had finished our food and she couldn’t see the issue shocking service and shocking attitude

Attended the veterans breakfast today, always a great morning, the food is always good and hot and John and Tracy are always there to lend a hand. Good to meet up with the other veterans and have a good chin wag. Going from strength to strength.

Staff very efficient, landlady was very knowledgeable on the food spec and service was superb. Hot food, great service and even better service with a smile which isn’t something you get much these days so well done summerhouse. Obviously led well and great teamwork between the staff as moral high.

I came to have a few drinks with a work colleague, my wife works at the Summerhouse, and with a new Manager now at the pub, I thought I come in and test the water. I said hello to the Manager, what I got in response was just a "grunt" he then promptly walked away and I was ignored for the rest of the day. The front of house staff were wonderful, but alas who this new manger is I have no idea. First impressions of him, he's rude and arrogant, certainly not a people person, and was concerned on making sure that everyone else was working hard rather than joining in. A sadly woeful atmosphere. Compared to the last manager who was friendly and respectful. This person is certainly harming business with his aloof attitude. In future I'll make sure I visit the establishment when he's not around.

Booking online was easy and my request for a table to accommodate a baby car chair was more than satisfactory. The staff were all lovely, friendly and very efficient.

Clearly states on menu a side order of 8 onion rings 0nly received 3 when I questioned this he said yes it says somewhere on the menu it does . Sorry but it does not and at £3.79 for 3 small rings is ridiculous . I ordered the Lasagna I'm afraid they microwaved it for too long the bottom was burnt . Although my partner had the fish and did say this was nice. It was a real shame because we run a campsite and will not be able to recommend your establishment to our customers

We were shown immediately to a table for my granddaughter and myself & the waitress explained the procedure re vouchers and brought us a drink straight away while we studied the menu . Both meals were good value for money and we also enjoyed the dessert, served promptly but not rushed. I was able to pay the bill at the table and overall we both enjoyed our Easter treat experience and definitely have already recommended Summerhouse to others .

Usual, not sure the place is run with customer service in mind. Always understaffed and whilst ok busy it just seems a tired establishment. You won't get a great reception, food or drinks, but they will all be adequate for the monies paid. Carpark is a ball ache. Park in Lidl across the road.90mins free. If several cars turn up for a meal each has to pay in the pub car park..if you all pay separately then you get your money back. However with three cats we only got one fee refunded.

I ordered veggie burger and chips.. I got fries which were cold. The burger was pretty cold too and very mushy. I didn't enjoy them.

Had to wait a fairly long time to be seated for a pre booked table. Pub wasn’t even busy at the time. Told at our table that we had to go to the bar to order a cocktail. So we did just that. To be told at the bar they aren’t making cocktails as only one bar staff member available. As stated it wasn’t even busy. So basically they couldn’t be bothered to make a simple cocktail. Food was bland and small portions. Table was sticky too. Won’t be coming back here. Parking is a joke. Machine is very slow too.

Food carvery not as good as last visit carrots and parsnips hard

Service was good, food was average but just acceptable. What overshadowed the whole visit was the parking issue. Can understand why charging is needed as close to the local station but the ticket machine wasn't working so we were forced to load up an app on our phone that we didn't want, with details we didn't want to disclose and in the cold and wet. It took 10 minutes and the whole thing was the subject of lunch. Very disappointing, will not be back or recommend to others. To add, we actually witnessed customers turning away because of the parking issue. Too difficult for many especially older people. We did get our fee returned but not the fee for using the app.

never been before but a great find. lovely and quirky building ,great atmosphere and the food was amazing . good portion sizes and friendly staff. got abit warm upstairs for some of my party with the heating on hot but i was comfortable. the car park machine wasn’t working but they were aware so i just hope i don’t get a ticket. would definitely recommend to anyone and looking forward to being able to visit again someday.
