the atmosphere is really nice aswell as the service. The food is well prepared, simple and tasty. Had Spaghetti with Guanciale, Pecorino, Egg Yolk and Black Pepper. For desert cannoli of pistachio and chocolat was really good. We liked this visit that we decided to go again the next day. This time I had the spaghetti cacio e Pepe.

Great place for pasta in Glasgow! Serves a wide variety of pasta where most of them are scrumptious and good portion size for its money. Loved the linguine in a Puttanesca sauce with Fresh Mackerel. Tastes very savoury with tiny bit of fishy taste for more layers of tastefulness. Not sure if it's available very day as it is from the special menu. The pasta with ragu beef was great too, beef is tender and the sauce is flavourful. Definitely try their tiramisu for dessert, one of the best I've had! Wines are also served here. Definitely returning when visiting Glasgow next time.

Great food, you can watch it being cooked, in a lively and busy restaurant. Whilst they turn tables at pace you don't feel rushed when finishing off your drinks. No bookings but the most I've had to wait for a table is 20 mins. Would highly recommend the panzanella salad as well as any of the pasta dishes.

What an amazing place for freshly cooked pasta and great wine. You can't book, need to turn up, give your name and wait. Used to love sugo pasta, however a recent change in menu has removed pasta number 8 which was, to me, the best. No other pasta to me tastes that amazing that I'd wait the times you need to for a seat. When sitting food comes rapidly however when waiting to be seated it can be a while, and while waiting for the bill can be even longer. Sugo is good for a quick bite to eat and wouldn't recommend for anything intimate as the restaurant is very loud and busy.

Have been to Sugo Pasta , Glasgow many times and always enjoy it. Visited today and my wife had Number 1 from main menu which was fine, I had the Mushroom Ravioli from the Specials menu. When my dish came there was no Parmesan cheese on it, I asked if I could have some, fully expecting my plate to be taken back to get chef to grate some Parmesan on it. However waitress went away and brought me back a dish of Parmesan. When I got bill I discovered I had been charged £0.75 for a side order of Parmesan!!! Ridiculous!!! When I queried it I was told that Ravioli doesn’t come with Parmesan. There was nothing on menu advising of this and at no time was I informed that I had to pay for it. Come on Sugo Pasta get your act together if all other pasta dishes can have Parmesan added surely Ravioli can as well. Just don’t rip off your loyal customers by charging £0.75 for some Parmesan

Had wanted to try out Sugo as heard some great things about it. After a trip into Glasgow we went for lunch about 14:30. there was a queue when we arrived, but told the wait was 5 mins so, waited in the bar area. First impression from this vantage point was that the place is huge! Less than 5 mins later we were shown to our table, fairly quickly had drinks and food order taken. Mixed salad arrived very quickly, the mains of pappardelle with beef ragu and Tagliatelle with mushrooms arrived with a few minutes more, unfortunately, the drinks order (white wine, red wine and water) didn't! After a few more minutes without the wine, I had to get up, find a senior member of staff and point out we were sitting with our meal but without our wine. The plates are not huge so it was feasible we could have finished before the wine arrived, or waited until the food was cold, the wine arrived a few minutes later. In summary, food was excellent, great taste, if smallish portions, the speed of delivery of the food suggested it's not cooked to order. The place is too busy for the number of staff, the staff seem to be a bit disorganised and under pressure. Its not acceptable to be Brough food well before the wine, so this did spoil the occasion.

A very busy restaurant. After eating there I can tell why. They make their own pasta fresh every day. I had the Spaghetti Carbonara (no 8) and it was one of the best I've ever had. My wife had Taglionini with Pesto, french beans and potato, which she loved. The pasta had a bit of bite in it, and the guanciale was perfectly cooked. The sauce rich and creamy. Lovely wine to accompany. Perfect! Another place worthy of a 6th star because what they do is simple, so there's no place to hide, and the food was beautiful. One comment, give me a fork and a spoon with carbonara, not a knife and fork.

The only restaurant this pair of tourists went back to on our tour of Scotland. We try not to double up on food to maximize the breadth of our experience, but this was just too good to pass up. The pasta was perfectly Al Dente, the service was fast, the drinks were solid (not many options, but that's ok!), and despite it being fairly busy, service was swift. I got one of the specials, a Sea Bass and garlic/white wine sauce concoction that I certainly plan to recreate at home, since I can't fly across the Atlantic to get more every night. I don't think you can choose poorly on that menu, honestly. All in all, please open a location in New England, USA. I'll be there first night for SURE.

First the good parts and I can see by other reviews I am in the minority for this Instagram type restaurant. The service from the young girl I wish I had caught her name was brilliant. She is a credit to her employer. The prices are reasonable for what you get although the schooner of Lager rather a pint seems a gimmick and a bit of a rip off considering what they charge. The food was just average, My spaghetti with mussels was poor. The mussels are tiny and the vast majority had not opened which is not a great sign for sea food, surely the chef saw this!. There are no starters as such but small dishes of bread etc and tomato and mozzarella. Again this is fine but when you order they tell you they bring out dishes when ready and at same time. The table we had could hardly take two plates and a couple of drinks never mind four and bread and it was a really poor dining experience. The tables definitely are not fit for purpose. All in all it's a good concept but the actual food average and overall experience is not great.

Sugo Pasta is a culinary oasis where the essence of Italy comes alive through each meticulously crafted dish. From the moment you step in, the aroma of freshly made dishes permeates the air, promising an unforgettable dining experience. The Chitarra with Sea Bass, White Wine, Chilli, Garlic & Cherry Tomatoes is nothing short of a masterpiece. With each bite, the flavors dance on your palate, leaving a lingering sensation that tantalizes the taste buds long after the last morsel is savored. It's a symphony of ingredients perfectly orchestrated to create harmony on the plate. The Panzanella - a side dish bursting with freshness and vibrancy, is a testament to the restaurant's commitment to authenticity. It's a salad that elevates simplicity to an art form, making every bite a revelation. Yummy! And let's not forget the desserts – homemade tiramisu and Cannolo with Ricotta, Pistachio, and Chocolate – both are simply divine. Each spoonful is a journey to the heart of Italy, where indulgence meets tradition in a delightful fusion of flavors. A special nod goes to the waitress Vicki, whose impeccable service, attention to detail and genuine warmth added an extra layer of joy to the dining experience. Her recommendation of the main dish was spot on, showcasing her expertise and dedication to ensuring every guest leaves with a smile. We walked past Sugo one morning on the Glasgow Mural Trail and vowed to come back for dinner after seeing the chef prepping the pizza dough and cutting the ravioli for the day. Discovering Sugo was walk ins only online we went back about 6pm to find a packed restaurant and an impressive queue. What else is there to do as a Brit? We queued to find there was a 2 hour wait for a table of 4. We accepted and went back off discovering bars in Glasgow. Well under 2 hours later though we received a text and hurried back to claim our table! We were seated just as we paid for our drinks at the bar and sat down to absorb the bustling restaurant and peek at the menu. It was interesting to find that the menu never had dish titles, just ingredients. So number 1 is my all time pasta dish, Aglio e Olio, which after seeing the promise of super fresh pasta made me immediately stopped reading if I’m honest 😂 . It was stunning, there are no words, perfection! My Wife ordered the ravioli we’d seen being made through the window that morning. I think she actually groaned out loud with the first few bites! And dessert, oh my god! Tiramisu - absolutely spot on! Cannolo the biggest I’ve ever had and bursting with flavour and just the right balance of chocolate and filling. I’d like to vote for Sugos next venue to be in Chelmsford, Essex please and thank you

Fantastic food in a buzzy if loud environment. Told there was a half hour wait was seated within ten minutes. Pasta sublime.

Incredible pasta with incredible speed! I went on a Monday night, around 5 pm and only had to wait 5 minutes to be seated - speedy! Then I ordered drinks and pasta for me and my friend (the waitress was very lovely) and within 10-15 minutes of waiting, our food arrived - super speedy!! It was so delicious, I could only think about this incredible meal for the next 4 days following our visit. Oh, and I would highly recommend trying their affogato; it’s unlike any other I’ve had before! Sweet and smooth with a gelato-like texture without any hint of bitterness, to die for. I hope I find myself in Glasgow again to pop by for another experience at Sugo!

Arrived and the place was extremely lively. Had to wait 20 minutes for a table and I don’t think the queue and waiting time had slowed. This was a Monday night and Jennifer, our excellent waitress said it’s like that every day. The menu is small and the kitchen is open plan so you can see the food being made. I had the mushroom ravioli and soda bread which was lovely. Everything is homemade on the premise and daily. Would highly recommend.

Never seen a restaurant so busy for a Tuesday night. Very well organised. Small menu but everything was fresh and very tasty. Quick and friendly service. Really enjoyed our food.

Vibrant atmosphere, lively to see how they make fresh pasta! The staff was very nice, specially a waiter called Ali that helped us al , having 3 small children and with part of the group arriving late. Thank you for the patience and understanding. Only downside was a manager snarking at me when I asked for a plastic bag for the 3 doggy bags (as we over order, too many nice things to choose from!); never encountered a restaurant not giving a plastic bag, usually there is no need to ask. I will not recommend the affogato if you are expecting good quality ice cream in it. But overall we agreed we will go again.

It was very busy when we visited and had to wait for a table, we were able to grab a drink in the small bar area while we waited. Really great value for money! Small Menu but good portion sizes and the sides are quite big too! The bruschetta was different to what I expected but was really tasty, and a nice big side of Parma ham! Yum! Spinach ravioli was tasty too! Will defo go here again!

Our first time visiting yours, and this type of restaurant. It was raining heavily, and as a result many venues were getting busy. We were greeted and told despite being very busy there would be a 10 minute wait, it was far less than that. The venue was very very busy with a high level of noise. We sat by the kitchen which was no problem, but in part due to the noise, and me being an old fart I struggled to hear. Not an issue when reviewing the service and food which was excellent. I particularly liked the fact we were told your food comes when it comes we don’t separate mains and starters. All the food was very good quality, tasty and nice portion sizes. Simple fresh pasta. Our waitress was very nice and attentive but clearly very busy. Bill total with three soft drinks. Three mains and a salad with bread and olive oil was £50. As a first experience very good. If a little busy and noisy.

A wonderful little restaurant that's well worth a visit. We don't go into town often and were concerned about parking but it's so easy to get to and loads of on street parking round about. The staff w
