Sugo Pasta in Glasgow City

Took a chance as knew nothing about Sugo. Had driven up from Bristol for family funeral and needed a restaurant offering good reasonably priced food for meat eaters and vegetarians. Prompt friendly service. Suited us as no need to book

Welcoming staff beautiful sourdough and oil with the buffalo basil the pasta carbonara was really tasty can’t fault this place resonable prices good portions gets a thumbs up from us

Pasta was ok - not the best we've had. Definitely not live up to the hype & expectations. Would recommend if you are looking for a cheap place for a quick meal as service was quite fast.

Sugo Pasta's unique concept sets it apart. Unlike other Italian restaurants in Glasgow, they've perfected a concise menu of ten exceptional fresh pasta dishes. The vibrant atmosphere and friendly service enhance the meal, culminating in a remarkable espresso and cannolo. That cannolo? It was a true taste of Sicilia, easily the best we've had outside the island. Highly recommended!

Overrated. They pride themselves on pasta but genuinely has to be the worst pasta dish I’ve ever had! Don’t believe the “hype”, find something more authentic.

The queue was really long but it also moved really fast. We waited approximately 25 mins on a saturday lunch. Service was good & pasta was also fresh and good, although it came to us a little cold and it would’ve been better hot

Food is freshly made and has an open kitchen which is great but the food is average. Maybe being biased due to family and friends Italian roots but it is very overhyped. Really long wait. Not the best

The food was interesting, but I couldn't taste any seasoning. The portions were small and expensive. The pasta was el dente for the most part which is how I like it, but there was also points where the pasta was undercooked and crunchy. The service was excellent though, and I left a tip souly because the waitress did such a good job. I might go back, if friends want to go there.

No reservations but very busy on a Tuesday evening. Twenty minute wait for a two-top; the hostess won't tell you this, but you have to move ahead to the bar area to get your seat assignment. Expect to pay about 10 pounds for parking at NCP across the street.

Very good excellent if doing pre theatre style, not able to book table in advance walk on only, didn't wait long. Limited menu but all food was very good. Quick service

We were told there was a waiting time of 40 min but were invited to seat by the bar, we only waited for 15 min which was great. We ordered the aubergine to share to start and then two mains, everything was super super good ! And I think very well priced. Super recommended !

Everything was good in the start until we got to our table and kept waiting to be served . The servers were fine but there was this guy in pink shirt who clearly was tending the tables and kept serving literally everyone around us , even the people who were seated after us but he kind of ignored us . I even made eye contact with him thinking, ok now he realises he hasn’t served us yet but still went to the different table and took their order (again a different set of customers who were seated after us) I thought at this point he was just doing it on purpose which made us very uncomfortable 😣. After losing hope we just asked one of the severs who was passing by to take our order as we had waited long enough for the person who was meant to. The food was amazing but this experience left us completely shocked ! We visited on Saturday the 8th of March and this person had a pink shirt on . The funny thing is, he even checked back on people around us but avoided us like a plague. It was a very unfortunate experience. I wish they did focus on customer service a little more as the food was absolutely amazing .

Recommended by a friend. We were worried about time. Time to get in, and time to be served. This was due to us having a train to catch. No need to worry. Wait was twenty minutes they said, in within 10. Seen, served and onto dessert within half an hour. AND to top of off the food is really tasty and totally fresh. The waiting staff a super vigilant, scanning to see who needs service, and are amazingly polite. Will totally be following my friends example and recommending Sugo Pasta.

The food was pretty amazing! So glad I went. I will be definitely visiting when in Glasgow. Pasta was hot, fresh, tasty. The tiramisu was melting in the mouth! Salads were great and dressings were lovely!

I don't know what to rate the food to be honest because we were shoved into an overcrowded bar to wait. It's utter chaos & after 5 mins we left. The barman was rude & told me to stand behind the rope to wait for the table. Absolute shambles.

Lovely Fettuccine in a spicy pork and nduja ragu followed by ice cream and raspberry sauce. Busy restaurant but was seated within 10 mins. Service was great and reasonable price for 2 courses.

Food was absolutely disgusting we ordered 4 types of pasta and four of them were just disgusting

Best Italian food I’ve ever had. Better than in Italy!

Popular for a reason. The food is amazing. Portions reasonable and prices fair. Service is quick despite how busy it is. Tiramisu is perfection. Only downside is… how busy it is! It’s a bit loud but maybe I’m getting old 😆

It's another one of my favourite places to have pasta in Glasgow. This pocket friendly place has been my go-to place multiple times and a few handful times. I have managed to take good pictures of the food. The place is always full, but they have a waiting area. The food is exceptionally good with some basic drink options.

Number 1 has zero flavour, number 8 does not taste nice. Kinda small portion sizes. Texture of pasta was great but the flavour is not it here. Really disappointed.

This is a fast turnover dining experience, but this does not in anyway diminsh Team Sugo's commitment to great service, high quality and tasty food. The portions sizes are just right and very filling. I had the beef ragu with papadelle pasta and it was rich, flavoursome with just the right amount of bite in the pasta. My wife had the spaghetti with prawns and we shared a tiramisu to finish. The prawns with the spaghetti were so very soft and sweet, the best I had tased in a very long time. We will make a point of visiting again when we come back to Glasgow, this was a stand out meal during our 3 days visit to the city. Thank you Team Sugo.

We chose this restaurant for the good reviews and the pictures of the pasta really seemed appealing. The restaurant is cool inside and it’s nice that you can see the chefs making the pasta in front of you. The staff was friendly and quick. The pasta though.. I mean it was okay, I feel like people are overrating it a bit. The pasta didn’t feel perfectly cooked and the sauces tasted unseasoned. And the tiramisu was way too sweet. The cannoli on the other hand was great!

Exceptional! I usually avoid Italian restaurants abroad because 99% of them are a disappointment. Sugo is that 1% that makes the difference and makes it big. Typical Italian pasta dishes cooked with fresh pasta produced in-house and cooked properly and with quality ingredients. Even the choice of desserts does not disappoint. I ate a carbonara and a Sicilian cannoli, both delicious. Definitely a must restaurant for future stays in Glasgow.

What a fabulous place. Every bite was delicious and as we were close friends we shared 2 starters, 3 mains, 2 desserts and got some hot drinks, that gave us plenty to eat and a great price for that much food too. The staff were great and we stayed ages! Thanks ☺️

You cannot book this place so have to turn up and queue. We waited about 15 minutes around 5pm. The problem is they haven’t thought about this at all. There is a tiny bar area that doesn’t fit all the people waiting so you spill out into the foyer in front of the reception desk until the try and push you in more. This no booking gimmick only really works if you give people a good place to wait. It also means the restaurant is not really family friendly because you have to stand in a tiny bar area with kids. The food is really good but the portion sizes are pretty small so it’s not great value. Service was pretty terrible too. After we sat down nobody spoke to us for a while. When the did we ordered drinks and water which didn’t come until after the food and I think only came because we managed to ask someone. It’s a shame because the food is tasty and it could be a great place if they took bookings, portions were a little bigger and the service was better.

100 percent see why this place is so popular. Don’t be disappointed if there’s a queue every time you go here

Brilliant. Bustling Sunday, great pasta, great service, great friend ( not guaranteed), brief wait for a table but just the best Sunday vibe imaginable. And this is from old people! Thank you for such a funn Sunday.

Been Sugo customer since opening Service great as always , unfortunately prices going up ,portions getting smaller . I got full plate of pasta with 4 pieces of sea bass ... definitely taking break from this place .

Tasty pasta but not out of this world. Service was super quick so a good option if you're in a rush.

Food was lovely, tasty and fresh Was very cramped and crowded for my own liking but this may not bother others so I would still recommend this place. Good value for money.

The pasta was delicious, really lovely... And the salad and the burrata... Everything truly delicious. I could have happily eaten everything on the menu I think. Great value for money, fabulous service, the house white wine was very good. I have zero complaints. We waited half an hour for a table but that was fine too. We sat at the bar with our wine and chatted til my name was called. Can't wait to go back

I got the sourdough bread and chit seabass and it was wonderful. The staff was so helpful and kind. I would really recommend trying this place.

I was lucky enough to have won a dinner through a Facebook competition for Sugo, although I have been previously as well and paid for everything without a competition. But I have to say this place has without a doubt become one of my favourite pasta spots in Glasgow, everything is super fresh, high quality, and tastes absolutely phenomenal. The staff are always happy to help and look like they genuinely enjoy being there. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars all round is just due to the volume of the music. Both times they I have been it’s been very hard to hear my partner across the table from me due to the loud music and other guests. I feel that if the music was turned down just a bit it would make all the difference. I would without a doubt recommend Sugo to anyone who is looking for authentic, quality pasta in Glasgow!

Beautiful restaurant! Unfortunately the service was terrible, we waited ages in between seeing our waitress (who was hugging on another coworker every time we looked over for her attention) and the pasta was undercooked? It's advertised as fresh, guessing the pasta sat out for awhile. Unfortunately not the best experience.

Been here a few times and it’s okay, definitely better Italian restaurants in Glasgow but if you want a quick turn around for something to eat it can be what your after, service feels quite rushed at times, the dishes are average but kind of small for the price, place is so noisy you can’t even have a conversation with your party, tried phoning about 30 times to make a booking and no avail over the phone as they just don’t pick up, we turned up and were told it’s a 55 min wait, just went elsewhere instead, the only reason we came back this time is because we got a voucher for Christmas, if they sorted the booking system and took phone call reservations it would be a little better but I won’t be back

Fast friendly service and the food was great, our server Sofia was super attentive aswell

The place is quite large and is always full, we went without a reservation and waited for half an hour or so. The food was perfect and the price, as in the rest of the city, was somewhat high.

Both pasta dishes and the panzanella were delicious. Super tasty and amazing quality. Lovely restaurant.

Had a fabulous meal on Friday. Brilliant for vegetarians, the panzenella is so good! Always a buzzy atmosphere and quick service but did not feel rushed!

Amazing quality of food. Freshly made and prices are reasonable. The service was fast and great too. Overall definitely worth going. Only issue is that you can’t book, and the place is always busy, besides that I would happily return.

Always consistently good quality food here. Noticed they’ve reduced their portion sizes over this last Christmas…also the tables are so much closer together – not the place to be having a conversation really; always having to shout.

First time in Glasgow and a friend recommended this place. There’s a 30 minute wait during lunch time but with so many shops around, the time went by quickly. The staff at the door remembered us as we walked back in and asked us to wait by the bar. We were seated at our table shortly, sharing a table with other diners because they were just that busy. The prosciutto, salads and pasta dishes were very good. Ordered 3 different ones to try, all cooked to al dente, flavourful but not too salty, yummy! Would love to come back one day.

Overall it was expensive and quite stressful, I wouldn’t return. Four adults and a child squashed into a small table. I sat on my good coat! Asked for drink order while I was still taking my coat off. Starters and mains came out the same time, not enough room on the table. Starters were ok and pasta’s also ok, but nothing special. We hadn’t even finished when they started lifting plates. The carbonara already had another plate on top of it so we couldn’t even take it to go. At £92 it was expensive for fast food where we were rushed out of the restaurant by a very abrupt waitress/manager (in a blue shirt). Don’t believe they hype, there are lots of good Italian restaurants in the area that are much better, same price without trying to throw you out the door.

Very busy, but this place runs very efficiently. Fresh food prepared in front of you (depending where you sit) Not a huge menu, but it works well that way. Friendly staff and a que out the door. If you're prepared to wait, it's well worth it. I loved watching how quickly the kitchen turned orders over and everyone knew their role, from chefs to kitchen hands. No shouting and looked like they enjoyed what they did.

Sugo's pastas are freshly made everyday (according to their own words). Ordered two raviolis and both were pretty good. I recommend their ice cream Please be aware that there can be a long queue during peak hours. I waited for 25 minutes until I got a table. Keep in mind that there's a lot of noise in the restaurant

Sugo was incredible. The bread and olive oil to start was amazing, tasted so fresh and soft, absolutely beautiful! I had the prawn pasta, the garlic and chilli ran through it perfectly, i was extremely content. Although the restaurant was extremely busy we weren’t left waiting for too long and the staff were super warm and friendly. 100% would recommend if you’re in glasgow :)

My granddaughter raves about this place and brought us in. Absolutely brilliant, buzzing atmosphere, seated quickly and amazing service. Short menu, but everything on point snd exceptional. Will be back, and tell all our friends.

manager had a serious case of small-man syndrome—evident as he yelled at us when they falsely charged us for water we didn’t ask for. Waitress was equally rude and flat out lied to us. Also our pasta was undercooked…

Beautiful decor, great atmosphere and fantastic, reasonably priced food.

Always satisfied with the food here, the servings are deceiving & always leave full up, decent prices & good service, the duck tagatelli is delicious & the canoli's are a great desert.

Sugo Pasta is pure class, man. The pasta’s fresh, proper tasty, and the sauce is banging, none of that cheap stuff, it’s the real deal. Had a glass of wine with it, and it was spot on, no complaints. Then went for ice cream and affogato to finish, honestly, pure magic. The place has a cracking vibe, proper chill but buzzing at the same time. Staff are dead sound, friendly, and don’t hassle you, just let you enjoy your scran. If you’re in Glasgow and fancy something proper Italian, Sugo Pasta’s where it’s at. Nae messing about, just good food that hits the spot every time. Get yourself down there you won’t regret it!

The pasta here is INCREDIBLE! the sauces are incredibly tasty and well balanced and the bread salad really hits a spot. Depending on the desert they are super tasty! The ice-cream reminds me of the one we used to get at our local italian restaurant when we were kids and the cannolis and cheese cake are AWESOME, Update there disserts are no longer available. The pastas are all made in-house and have a great bite! I was very tempted to go for a second plate. Service is great and still one of the best restaurants in Glasgow. They don't take reservations so head a little early to wait for a table. It's a simple menu with simple dishes done to absolute perfection.

Best pasta I’ve ever had. Our waitress Caitlin was amazing too and made us feel so welcome. So down to earth and friendly! We’ll definitely be back here!

Was an hour wait when we arrived which was okay. Put our name down and went to explore the Christmas markets. Came back and seated after a short wait. Sat for about 10 minutes before anyone saw us. Waitress looked like she had a big section most of whom were finishing so can't blame her. Starters and then Mains arrived quickly. Drinks didn't arrive till after mains had been served. Disappointed overall with the service time but can't fault anything else.

All pastas are very nice, like authentic Italian pasta, highly recommend
