Amore D'Italia in Glasgow City

Very good food at a very reasonable price - have never had a bad meal or bad take away from here. The service is decent as well and the staff nice. All in all I would recommend this restaurant for either a sit in or take away - both excellent.

Food was decent but Keep an eye on your bill as items may be accidentally added which was the case with us as they said that the staff was new.

Had to send my meatballs back twice as they where cold but putting that aside staff friendly and the rest of the group said food was lovely

Amore's a great spot for a chippy if you're in the Dennistoun area. The fish was fresh and flaky, and the chips were as expected. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. The staff are also friendly and welcoming. Good chipper, will come back.

Went there today with my family, we had some cods and a haddock. Excellent fish & chips! Will defo grab some to go every now and then.

The place is small, cozy, atmospheric. Pleasant staff and fast service. My daughter is delighted with the ice cream.

Great food great service will go back

We've been to Amore a few times before when visiting family who live opposite the restaurant. We've never been disappointed with the food and service.

It was alright. Lasagna was 60% cheese, 8% pasta, 4% grainy mince and 32% bland sauce. Partner got bruschetta funghi and that looked and tasted good, good portion for it being a starter too. Arancini was alright, bit soggy and a tasteless sauce with it.

My daughter and I celebrated her 18th birthday. The starter and main courses were delicious. For seafood lovers, I recommend the mussels in white marinade, which were delicious. Likewise, the main courses are fresh and taste great. Nice service and helpful advice. I recommend it and I will definitely visit it again.

I got a takeaway on 7th March 2024, I ordered 2 Pollo Milanese, 1 Fish supper, chicken Wings and chips, the chicken in both Milanese was absolutely disgusting !! When cutting into it I knew the texture wasn't right at all, I took a bite only to spit it back out, it was tough and chewy 🤢 I took the crumb coating off to find horrible chicken underneath !! Both dishes went right in the bin. I mailed Amore FB page privately 2 and half days ago with an picture just to make them aware of what was being served, giving them the benefit of the doubt incase it was just a dodgy batch of chickens. They read the message within a few hours but haven't yet replied, completely ignoring my message. Clearly customer service isn't a strong point and now making me think maybe they know what they're serving people. I have used this restaurant for yrs, Xmas eve dinners, birthdays, mothers day etc.. but safe to say I won't be back in the restaurant or using it for a takeaway.

The Food was good, but the service not so much. The abrasive attitude of the senior staff to the juniors and customers did not make it a pleasant place to dine.

Picked up order. Wrong food . So never be in restaurant again. When I called to complain. They were giving me all different numbers to call. Happy valentines to me. They were so rude. When I told them it was the wrong order. Will never go back.

My local spot for pizzas. The staff are very courteous and friendly, either when phoning an order in or upon collection. The take away area is always spotlessly clean. I generally order pizzas for collection and am delighted with the results. I cannot praise them enough!

Unprofessional stuff specially who ever work on front desk. The chef is vary bad person he keep arguing with drivers he thinks the Ubers and just eat drivers is his servant and he is acting different. There food is vary nasty.

I ordered pizza and tiramisu. I expected something better than in local shop, but sourdough pizza from a local co-op tastes better. The tiramisu wasn't bad, but I had the impression that I was eating only a thick cream, not a piece of cake and thery gave me ice creams without asking me before. I assumed I will receive tiramisu only if I didn't mentioned I want ice cream too. Also I have to say about the prices. There is no prices for dessert in menu and when I received the bill the prices were different than in menu. I came with friends and they also had higher prices on the bill. Except that someone who decide to eat something here needs to know there is 10% service fee added to bill, because the waiter comes quite often and jokes. It's not my cup of tea as I wanted to eat something good and talk in peace with my friends, not with a stranger who mocks me for ordering too little.

Local solo, but I always forget that there are amazing places to eat locally to me. Sam and Andrea made me very welcome and there were some safe from the royal in and a baby paid their drinks bill!! Baby’s are like that! Xmas menu under £20 two course and vegan! Do yourself a favour and go in!!

We had a work Christmas lunch at Amore d'Ifalia. We all had a fantastic time. The food was amazing couldn't fault it and the staff were great and our waiter Mondi was super fun, had us all laughing., would definitely recommend it

We come to Amore regularly, Mondi and Andrea were brilliant as usual. Great service, great food and always friendly banter. Any changes to food I've asked for they've always been happy to oblige and always get as a table even if we call last minute. 5 stars isn't enough.

The same as last time- far too hot in the restaurant so uncomfortable to sit in. Most of the staff are not very friendly with the exception of the young tall man with the green glasses- he was lovely. The food was just fine. I won’t be back any time soon.

Overall great food. When we got the bill and my wife asked if we could half the bill the server got a bit abrupt and sent someone else over to get our details. So the other server was more understanding and helped us get rhe bill straightened out. So this was ideal and we will probably attend again.

I totally agree with the comments on rude staff. The waiter who served us was very rude. There was no friendly greeting and no thank you when we left. He had what looked like a scowl on his face all the time. He actually said what do want when we wanted ask him something. After we paid the bill and sat to finish our drink he came up and said in an abrupt manner we need the table for other customers. I thought I was in a scene from Faulty Towers as Basil came to mind!!

Been visiting the takeaway quite regularly recently and thought I would leave a review as I have been extremely happy with my overall experience. The service from the girl behind the counter has always been excellent, always smiling and happy to help. The food has been amazing, a special mention to the the fryer. The fish is the best I've ever had and the chips are also excellent. Very happy customer and this will be my go to takeaway for the foreseeable future. Thanks guys.

We visited Amore in Dennistoun on Monday night. The food was fantastic, so tasty and great portions. We also had some cocktails which were lush 😋 Can't fault the service, we were served by Andrea and Jimmy and they were so attentive. I would definitely recommend, so much that myself and my daughter were back yesterday afternoon and again everything was perfect! Great food, service and drinks. My new favourite place to go, thank you 😊

It was my first time here. It was my son's birthday. He lives in Dennistoun and has been here b4. We had a couple of hiccups with the food, but these were quickly resolved. We were seated upstairs, so it was quiet, but that suited as the little princesses could be themselves. Oh, and the BEST CAPPUCCINO I've tasted in a long time.

1st visit to this restaurant with family. The atmosphere was lovely and staff made you very welcome. Food was excellent with a 👍🏻 from everyone. It was agreed that we will certainly be back.

Lovely little italian restaurant, with friendly welcoming staff that are very helpful! Great service as well! We all enjoyed our meals, the pizza was far too good, spaghetti was great too, even the mozzarella sticks! The strawberry daiquiri is definitely the best. Everything is so well presented to you. Lovely decorated place as well. I have been here twice this year. We have had fantastic food plus experience first and the second time going. It won't be the last time! I would definitely come back here. Highly recommend this place! 🤍

This was my first visit to Amore d'Italiana. We were a table of ten, yet the service was quick and the food was enjoyable. The cost was £23 per head, that was without starters or desserts and with only one round of drinks, so it's not cheap!

Truly fantastic food! Beautifully cooked and presented. Highly recommend this restaurant. Special mention to our waiter Lundi who was extremely attentive to us and recommended perfect dishes and wine. Having only eaten here before, while visiting our daughter, can't wait for our next visit.

Lovely food and staff were wonderful nothing to much trouble. We brought in a cake that the staff took care of and brought it out with plates and napkins...we will definitely be back.

Just had lunch for four in Amore, Alexander parade, dennistoun, Glasgow. Food ok. Waiter, think his name was Manni, extremely off hand. We had been given a voucher for Amore as a gift. When the the bill arrived we used this against it with some added monies. When Manni arrived he abruptly told us that this was for the Glasgow City center branch and not for this restaurant. This is fair enough but the manner in which he dealt with us was an absolute disgrace. If that is the face and attitude of this chain of restaurants then, God help us. As we we're leaving, I told him that his attitude was appalling, he reacted by smiling and saying goodbye. No apology or hint at all with regard to his overall manner. We will never be back and will recommend to anyone not to visit this establishment, truly shocking customer service.

We visited the restaurant for the first time last weekend. Whilst the food was reasonable, we certainly will not be back due to the extremely rude male waiter who served us. Apart from ignoring our table, leaving empty glasses and plates until we asked for their removal and his pretty awful attitude to our polite requests for drinks and menus, he was extremely rude and annoyed when we requested a clean glass due to the one he gave us having lipstick still on it. We won’t be back thanks to him single handedly ruining our evening. Nice one sir.

Can I just say a big thank you to Ali who sorted me out a party of 10 and 3 kids at short notice as I had mixed up my booking. Good food good service reasonable price. Edwardo is a bit cheeky but maybe that’s just his way.

As other people have already mentioned, I found the older gentleman rude. Ruins the experience. Pizza from here is good though, nice dough and tastes fresh. Will get a take out next time.

Called to book a table for my daughter's birthday. I explained that she has autism and we would like to sit upstairs as this is what she is used to when visiting. The guy on the phone said he can't guarantee this and it would depend on other bookings! I explained that it NEEDS to be upstairs as she wont sit downstairs, he maintained he couldn't guarantee this. When we arrived another family memeber had come to suprise my daughter. We explained the situation and the guy at the front desk huffed and puffed about it. We went upstairs to be seated and the other guy said we could only have a table for 4 in the corner. I explained we needed 5 seats. The place was empty except for 2 tables being used. He said this couldn't be done. We left as by that point my daughter was upset and so were we. Never experienced this here before, they really need to have a look at their staff as the two guys that were on were rude and arrogant. We have dined here plenty of times and used it for family functions aswell but I will never support this place again after how we were treated!

Ate from the takeout section of this restaurant twice over a month long period, ordering both pasta and pizza dishes. Both were excellent quality, especially the latter, with speedy pick up service from online ordering! Would recommend.

I went with my family to celebrate my sons birthday. The waiter that served us was nice , pity his senior colleague wasn’t the same. I found him to be extremely rude and arrogant when I questioned my bill. The drinks are totally overpriced- pint of lager £5.20 , glass of wine which was no where near a 250ml which they said it was £7.20, can of coke £2.95. I would say that is a phenomenal profit, in fact total greed! Also they advertise £8.95 for a one course but be aware the majority of dishes have a supplement ranging from £1.95 even for a burger. Such a pity they charge extra for certain dishes and extortionate prices for drinks as the food to be fair was quite nice. After singing happy birthday to my son the senior waiter asked him if he would like a shot, thinking it was on the house he said yes. Two shots were brought to him and his girlfriend. I thought what a really nice gesture. It certainly was not as £8.20 was added to my bill! I’ve NEVER been in a restaurant when a waiter asks if I would like a shot , after all its not a normal drink you would have with a meal. Bit of a sales pitch if you ask me. Unless you’ve got money to throw away then I would stay clear of this restaurant!

............arrived here for a meal with son and (his!) girlfriend. Got wound up something rotten but it was all good-humoured so no harm done and a few good ripostes both ways. All helped by the fact that I believe football to be complete waste of time and money and I couldn't really care which way the match went :-) So, the evening got off to a good start. Very friendly, service good, food very good indeed, son and girlfriend on good form, prices reasonable - yep, very good indeed. Would certainly go back. In fact, if England beat Italy should they ever play again, I'll drive to Glasgow just to go here and wind *them* up!
