Suffolk Punch in Ipswich

Well! I thought I’d visit with a friend of mine, since I’ve not been there before. I’d have liked to tick it off my list, instead I’m just ticked off. Place didn’t open at 12 as they boast about, no signs of life inside, half finished drinks still sitting on the bar and tables from the night before. Implying no preparations for opening had commenced. Not a good start for landlords that want to give this place a good go. Respect the customers.

A quiet night at the pub but lovely friendly welcome from the landlady. Made to feel very welcome. Will be back again

Absolutely awful atmosphere, full of the wrong crowd took one step in and straight back out. Definitely wouldn't recommend

Didn't seem open and took ages to get served then the music came blaring out and someone's phones notifications came theough speakers. Shame really

Popped in today friendly welcoming staff. Looking forward to some good nights there.

Went for a friends birthday. Lovely staff and lots of space. Pool is only £1 too. Was fun having a different glass each drink 😂 Some of the chairs are a bit unstable though 😅

Had a great sunday roast in the Suffolk Punch. We went as we heard good things about the place since it opened this year and we were not disappointed. generous and flavourful portion of chicken (or gammon, beef or root loaf), well seasoned with rosemary, and a ton of vegetables. Spuds were perfect, Yorkshire pudding the best I had. If you want a good Sunday roast, this is THE place to go.

Food was beautiful hot tasty and fresh

Great pub with friendly staff and some excellent live music. I especially enjoyed Gridlock on 11th May.

Lovely family drink and Sunday roast, choice of meats and a very tasty root vegetable offering, in spacious dining room. Service excellent, with friendly and exceptionally helpful staff. We shall be returning and highly recommended.

This pub has recently been taken over by a lovely family. Beautifully done inside. Dog friendly. Accommodating. They do a great roast on a Sunday. Thoroughly recommend.

New landlords, much improved. Lovely new sofas and botanical features, a real community local now.

Best atmosphere in a pub I've experienced for a long while due to a launch party for a football team. THOUGH took half an hour to get served and the barmaid just kept walking past me! They had 5 people working behind the bar and at times look like they were struggling to serve people.

Nice to see the pub open again. Hopefully they’re have more live music.

The Suffolk Punch used to be my local when I lived in Ipswich back in the early 1990s and I was pleased to revisit recently with some ex-work colleagues. I still find it a pleasant pub, staff are friendly and the locals welcoming. Future visits are assured to meet up again with some old friends.

Went for a drink after our football game. Was bout close because no customers but landlady opened just for us. Perfect 👍

I quite like The Suffolk Punch, it's minutes away from my front door but yet I've not gone in since I moved here 18 months ago. FINALLY stopped by tonight and was pleasantly surprised. It's a typical homely pub, nice people behind the bar and a generally relaxed feel. Not too dated, not too worn, and a great selection of drinks. Really happy to have somewhere this nice local to me! :)

Friendly owners had my mum's wake there and all who worked and helped made my mums day very special and my family and friends welcome can't thank them enough

Situated on the main Norwich Road, the pub offers a good selection of beers and spirits. It is a popular venue for locals and has music nights and features local bands. It has a large enclosed beer garden at the rear and has a large, spacious interior.
