Aurora (or A-Listers as it’s now known) isn’t normally my go-to venue as the service has historically been awful, however I joined a group of friends for a late lunch & today I received the best service I’ve received. The staff (shout out Georgia) were attentive, and topped up my friends’ bottomless drinks at regular intervals, food was fab and the DJ was great!! 🔥

Music a little loud but maybe im old. Food nice. Service good particularly Georgia who had the perfect blend of attentive, professional and friendliness, she was excellent.

We went there for Sunday brunch. Very clean place, nice setting, and food was delicious. Quantity was good, we were not hungry at the end of our meal. We have a plant-based diet, so went for their vegetarian (nut) roast, which was very tasty. All elements on the plate were well cooked, well presented, and flavourful.

First time having a meal at A listers at auroa it was absolutely amazing the food was fresh and hot well presented, although a busy Mothering Sunday lunchtime the wait was minimal the atmosphere was great and staff pleasant. Well done to the staff and exceptional praise to the chef..

Well I last reviewed this place 6 years ago and what a change has occurred, 1 star review changed to 5 stars throughout! In December we had a Christmas party here and I was increased by the quality of food and service especially for the price! Today I took my mother for her birthday, just a nice Sunday roast and now she it talking about getting the widows of the village together there for the next outing so needless to say she is impressed too. Roast is great and so are the puds! Mum didn't want her face out there so here are the approved photos.

We had my daughter’s baby shower on 13 th January . Was AMAZING !!The staff so help full The manager Emma organised it with the help of Jessica who was on duty that day . The went over and beyond . The food was amazing . We had a two course lunch . Service was on point. The atmosphere was so relaxed and then the Dj turned up great music xxx ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had an early dinner on a Friday and although there weren't many other diners (it was 5pm) it still has a lovely feel about it. Sat upstairs and and had fillet steak with sides, it was 10/10 on flavour and cooked perfectly (med-rare). The staff know how to look after customers, not intrusive but there when you need them, very polite and friendly and really good at their jobs!! The kitchen staff clearly take pride in their work and produce beautiful dishes, both taste and appearance. I would highly recommend a visit.

Had Christmas eve dinner here and it was amazing. Service was great and the food was delicious. My only request is to add an old fashioned onto the cocktail menu. 100% would go again

The venue is stunning. The staff are impecable. The food was not to our taste but was removed from the bill. We actually had a great night with drinks and dessert. The staff really did go above and beyond. Unfortunately the food lets the resturant down but would def return and try other things.

Best ever Roast Beef! Popped in for Sunday Road and have to say the food was amazing. The roast beef was so juicy and just melted in my mouth. The roast potatoes were perfect, and everything came out piping hot too. It was absolutely delicious, I’d recommend the mac cheesy ball starter. Service was excellent, everyone we spoke to was super attentive and friendly. We arrived at 1.30 pm for lunch and ended up staying till 6 pm to watch the football. We’ll be back soon, great atmosphere, amazing food and a fantastic place to watch the footy.

One of the best restaurants in Ipswich. Delicious drinks, food and great staff. For a restaurant on a marina you can do no wrong. Highly recommended 👌

Cannot rate food or service as we never got as far as having a meal! We had booked a table for 4 at 6pm on Saturday. On approaching the restaurant we were met with extremely loud music! When we got there we hoped there would be a room somewhere a little quieter! How wrong we were, it was so loud with the music we were having to shout at each other... was more like an 18 - 30's holiday rave in Ibiza! Spoke to the person in charge and said we have a table booked but we will not be staying as its too loud for us.... she said we are just finishing bottomless brunch so will turn the music down in about half an hour! That did not sway us to stay as the place was packed and am sure they would not have removed the loud music atmosphere for everyone else just for us 4! The website needs to advise when this type of music etc is going on. As people of a certain age looking for a nice evening meal out are very mislead Very disappointed but luckily were able to be accommodated last minute at Bistro On The Quay.

Great place to chill, the food was excellent the lady manager was totally amazing she couldn’t do enough for us, she orchestrated the staff fantastically. Hopefully they will be open for Christmas dinner.

Popped in for lunch, enjoyed the delicious fish and chips. The service was good, much improved from the last visit. The Downside is that the restaurant is currently surrounded by construction, which is temporarily I understand.

Excellent for everyone, this is probably the best place in town if you are disabled or struggle to walk, access to everywhere,plenty of room inside and out. There is a lift so you can go to the veranda, the staff as usual were very friendly didn't try food but looked lovely. Spotless and there are even blankets outside if a breeze comes down the river.

Was pleased with the food and the service. Drinks also very good. Recommend the Jerk chicken wings and the beef burger. The lime panacotta was also very nice.

Excellent if the weather is good because you can sit right next to the water. But it is in a really nasty area well away from all the lights and action further down the water front.

Food was overpriced, and it wasn't anything special. The wait rime was too long even though the place was empty. Atmosphere was a bit clubby, not restaurant Atmosphere at all felt like a night out at the club.

We keep having curt conversations with the bartender. He tends to lack basic customer service skills. 3 examples of rudeness, on 3 different occasions, by 3 different members of our party. The rest of the staff were friendly and delightful to deal with. Most of the food was lovely.

First time visit on a medium busy Saturday early evening. Went to bar to order a drink to which we where told its table service nice we thought. Found a empty table with a few empty ones a about and where happy. 10 minutes no hint of service not so happy. Managed to catch a member of staff and was told she would just grab her pad. 5 minutes later no service we left. 15 minutes sitting at a table no service what's that about? Strange. Went to Salthouse no probs.

We’ve been in twice since A-Listers took on the building and had a great time on both occasions. Great chilled vibe. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Cocktails are lush and very well presented. Jess and the team are doing a fantastic job. See you all again very soon :-)

The cocktails are out of a box!! which wouldnt be so bad if they didnt taste awful and cost more than the whole box itself. Unprofessional feel and overall no better than it was before

The staff is lovely and welcoming but the beer was warm,same as the coke and burgers not very tasty. The beef burger was tasting the same as Morrison's pork one's and the bun seemed quite old and keep falling apart and prices quite spicy for the quality of food delivered.Also the table's are not cleaned between customers as they're all having dry food on them 🤢 So not a nice first impression at all.

Fantastic service, lovely atmospheres

we had a corporate dinner at this venue last Xmas. approx 25 people. To start off, the food was expensive. Deposits were paid upfront which was a nuisance. On the night, service was slow, staff were underprepared and really rude, refusing to take drink orders, not providing us with updates etc. Food came out sub standard and cold. not worth the money. Drinks were expensive too. To top the night off, the venue kept a substantial amount of money we paid by error, and to date their management team have not made contact to discuss, let alone resolve despite me emailing and calling at least 5 times. The place is run by crooks, and its living off its semi stylish location on the waterfront alone. The venue is focused on being a high venue, but in reality, the team behind it couldn't run a Toby Carvery would not recommend

A group of us went to Aurora for dinner on a Saturday evening. After having a few cocktails, each of us proceeded with having a 3 course meal. Based on the prices, my expectations were high and I anticipated outstanding service complemented by delicious meals. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The starters, main dishes and deserts were all very bad. For example, we ordered pork belly as a starter, the dish was made up of two cold strips of what they classed as “pork belly” accompanied by grated cucumbers and carrots. Very poor presentation and even poorer taste. The main dish was lamb served with polenta, red pepper and kale. The kale was burnt and bitter tasting, the lamb was not cooked properly and the whole dish was “slammed” on a bed of olive paste. Absolutely revolting. We had made a few comments that we do not like the food, we managed to get one of the deserts for free. We ordered a Sundae and what arrived were simply 3 scoops of ice cream in a martini glass, bearing in mind the quality of the ice cream reminded me of the “cheapest tub of Aldi chocolate ice cream”, I am not sure how this was even a Sundae. Overall, none of the meals were executed up to our expectations nor taste. The bill added up to around £350.00 for 4 people. It felt like an absolute rip off given the food tasted so bad and I am genuinely upset for paying the bill given these circumstances. I wish I had raised my concerns while at the restaurant but we were having a great Saturday evening, therefore, did not wish to ruin our night. I am writing this review in order to alert potential customers to reconsider visiting Aurora for dinner. And if so to please express their discontent timely… I am not one to leave bad reviews but this was genuinely upsetting.

Well, what a disaster! We booked a celebratory lunch for family members who'd returned from their destination wedding... we had vegans in our party and required wheelchair access to the restaurant...both of which we were they definitely had. We arrived, the lift was broken, we had to sit in the main bar area infront a the DJ banging out tunes so loudly we could barely hear each other talking! So no we didnt get to hear all the wonderful wedding stories we'd all been looking forward to. The menus arrived, there's no vegan options at all on this menu, we ask gor the vegan menu to be told there isn't one...? We were advised upon booking sevetal weeks before, that the vegan menu had just gone to press... but alas it must have got lost on its way back as it wasn't available..... waiting for the waitress and owner to come up with some vegan options... they got a choice of a bread starter and a vegan burger main that's it... when we complained they then came up either tempura broccoli and waterchestnuts in a sauce! The brides starter arrived almost as the rest of us had finished ours. The medium rare steak arrived well done and was returned for yet another medium to well done steak; the burger with no onions was placed infront of me for me to discover onions within... imagine if I'd have been illergic! The battered fish tasted like it was from the supermarket; the sea bream was so small it was gone in a few mouth fulls and was sat on a bed of tomato chickpeas; the bun on the vegan burger was rock hard...almost like it had been defrosted in the microwave.... ! A catalogue of errors... we were waiting for Basil Fawlty to walk out ftom the back any minute! Total utter disaster! Will not return.

We booked Sunday lunch today and we’re very disappointed with the outcome. On reaching the venue we were shown our table and given our menu. When we came to order both the roast chicken and the roast beef were not available. The manager came over and said we could have a lamb shank as an alternative to which we declined. She further added the food was on a first come first served basis and suggested we came at an earlier time in the future. We found this attitude strange and could not find anything else on the limited menu and consequently left without eating. Altogether very poor.

We enjoyed our wedding dinner here and the staff could not have been anymore helpful. The food was absolutely amazing, all our guest could not stop commenting on how delicious it was. We then continued the party down stairs with the bar staff going above and beyond for my friends and family. Would highly recommend the venue.

Shocking customer service I booked brunch for my birthday a month ago all fine, however on the day they called me to confirm the booking to make sure I was still attending to which I said yes , to then be told 20 minutes before are slot that there was an error in the booking system and they aren’t actually open because it was New Year’s Eve and he tried cover up by saying “well it’s always an awkward time Nee years eve” , management were really rude and even laughed at me because of my frustration on the phone. There was no sincere apology and no offer of accommodating us at another time of even money off or anything, I was told to go somewhere else by management. I will definitely not be going here again.

Went there for Christmas Dinner no Christmas crackers on our table, no soft drink often on arrival for people that don't drink alcohol, food was salty. The starter and dessert was very nice.

Absolutely shocking!! My friend had booked a brunch for her birthday about a month in advance, rang up that morning to ask if the booking was still ok to go ahead and was told yes, only to get a call 20 minutes before the brunch was due to start telling her that the venue wasn’t even open and that he didn’t even have enough staff to facilitate. There was no attempt to resolve the situation, instead she was told to ‘find somewhere else’. Rude and unprofessional management, too many excuses made and no sign of a sincere apology. No wonder you’re always looking for staff..

We had a Christmas lunch ..Well the food looked great but it was very very salty and cold , they miscounted and forgot mine so I had the dregs got a free gin but still should of been hot and cut out the salt

We went for Sunday Lunch and thoroughly disappointed by the slow service with minimal interaction and check backs. Two dishes sent back because they were cold and no one seemed bothered on check ups of our table. A real shame. It wasn't that busy and there were enough staff to cope but it was difficult to attract anyone's attention

Sticky tables with watermarks. Friendly bar staff but inattentive waitress. Food very average & overcooked. Possibly one of the most attractive places to eat in Ipswich, but seriously let down by staff & an unchanging menu which would be more at home in a traditional/group pub.

Brilliant service and food. Really fresh and vibrant venue. The downstairs areas seemed nice to chill and have a few drinks. We had a meal upstairs where the views of the waterfront were great. Faultless service from the staff and great food to help celebrate my mother's 70th birthday. Would highly recommend.

Cocktail making and 3 course meal for my hen. The 2 employees who hosted the cocktail making were great and made it fun. The 3 course meal was delicious, all 25 of us really enjoyed it and no one could fault the meal or service.

Once again left waiting for a cup of coffee for my wife and I. Eventually we left and went elsewhere. Won't try them again.

Really busy, but pleasant staff. We stopped to grab a drink and watch the fireworks. Not the place to ask for a beer, but a reasonable choice of draft lagers though.

Very slow food service for light bites. Orders sometimes forgotten to be sent up to kitchen. Have cancelled and received a refund on 1 occasion taking an hour and no sight of food. Don't know if the food is quicker to come out if you sit upstairs and order cooked food. If you're downstairs stick to drinks, at least you won't be waiting as long. Could be 5 stars in the future if they speed up the service and improve communication with the kitchen.

Visited on Sunday; 2 staff on the bar in happy hour and didn't serve anyone in order so some of us were ignored for long periods of time. Attempted to get another drink at 4.50 after queuing for 15 mins and was told that happy hour was closed (though 5pm end was advertised on the bar) and that we needed to order via an app....which didn't work. Unhelpful staff, terrible service...they clearly aren't bothered.

Greeted by friendly staff at the bar. Had stayed for a few drinks and took advantage of the cocktail menu. Outside terrace area with plenty if seating for small or large groups. Very enjoyable evening!

Planned to have a nice evening sitting outside looking over the water, ordered drinks, excellent start, music was so loud outside it was difficult to talk, then went to order food and was told as they had a party on no food was available till much later, complete shambles, left and went home disappointed and hungry!!

Looked good nice place but the food was strange almost experimental. I found cress on desert was just weird.

The waitress has no manners, we've asked for menu twice and never got it after 30mins of waiting. The older guy tried to be funny when I've asked for the bill and trying to teach me what should I say in a sarcastic manner. I would recommend recruiting more pleasant staff as what's been happening today has been ridiculous... would not recommend it at all :)

Good heavens. They really need to train their staff before putting them behind the bar.
