Sues Cafe in South Somerset

We have got into the habit of arriving early at the railway station in order to visit Sue’s Cafe for a hot meal and tea. The food is always hot and fresh and they have never let us down. They have thought of everything, including a small pair of scissors to open the sachets of sauce. The bacon butty and bacon bap this morning were particularly lovely.

No welcome when we entered, abrupt waitress who said the only menu was on the wall, felt very rushed to order, asked for gluten free toast they had none, only a roll, I didn't want a roll with breakfast so said not to worry. When we sat down it was hot in the conservatory so another waitress opened the door which were sitting next to, later it became very cold so I pulled the door to, the waitress stormed out opened the door which she put a box behind and loudly stated how hot she was, no regard for customers being cold. Food was nice to give due that's why it got an extra star.

Been going to this cafe for a while now , we never had a problem until today I know very busy , but when we asked for 2 small breakfast the lady be hind counter was rude we won't be returning there was no need for it no where saying we had to book either sue a shame as we enjoyed it there but manners cost nothing .

Sue's is a proper local café, homebaking, personal service by those that make it. Excellent cakes and wider menu for a fuller breakfast or lunch. Great spot to drop in for proper refreshment. Cyclists and others should make a beeline. Handy for the station if you're early for your train!

Spotlessly clean cafe adjacent to Crewkerne station. This place is actually worth going to even if you're not catching a train. A really good cafe menu. We had takeaway drinks for on the train but couldn't resist the cakes. The portion size of cake very, very generous so at only £1.95 we shared a piece of Bakewell tart. Have to say that it was the nicest Bakewell; beautifully moist and very almondy. Worth visiting not just for food and drink quality but also to see the customer comments on the feedback 'walls'. Thoroughly recommend.

We were on our way to Crewkerne from the holiday cottage we are staying in at Bridport and spotted Sue’s,having seen it online.We were amazed at the choices on the menu for a small place and the prices were so reasonable. We were made very welcome and the food was excellent. The premises and toilet were spotless which is a plus with us. We wish we had a Sue’s near where we live!

Eaten full English breakfast all around the country and this one is right up there! Price and staff excellent.

Food was excellent aswell as the milkshake and service was great. Food was out within 5 minutes of ordering, this cafe is an all rounder.

With a very warm welcome from the gentleman serving from the counter; we were made most welcome and nothing seemed too much trouble with our dietary requirements. The coffee was full of flavour, but not bitter and very reasonably priced. The homemade flapjack was fresh, tasty and most enjoyable.

Well worth a detour if it's off your planned journey. The picture below replaces a thousand words. Just a small cosy little cafe with relaxing atmosphere. The train station is only 5 minutes away so if you don't drive that's another way of getting there.

Love the warm friendly atmosphere enjoyed the friendly conversation. The ham, egg and chips are available as a small or large portion.

a wonderful family business , great surroundings , really good food with fab value for money , other customers had different food chooses witch looked really nice , a real little gen in crewkerne .

I visited the cafe for a meal i found the service was poor and food not good had to ask 4 time's for a cup of tea with the meal.

Both me and my sister had a snack and hot drink. We both had toasted sandwiches with salad.It was well presented by friendly staff in a good atmosphere. Couldn't resist taking away some of sues home made cake which is wonderful.Thanks will be back soon.

Good food, at great prices and really good service. Well worth a visit, plenty of parking. A real gem

This a typical cafe ,the breakfast was ok but to improve Toast could of been toast instead of warm bread ,not put on plate where it soaked up all the water from the cooking process. Tea in a pot would of been nice ,not pre made in a mug. Sausage was cooked nicely but tasted of very little anything Great service but this would be for the quick builders breakfast stop.
