Best fish and chips in hull and definitely the best jumbo sausage 😋 staff are lovely and quick service we travel out our way for this chippy

Went to the Hedon store for a chip Buttie, absolutely disgusting, grey under cooked chips, approx 20 chips. Total bin material.

Ordered from the Hedon shop for 20 minutes time and paid up front - when I returned they first said I hadn’t ordered, then recognition hit and they started to cook then! What’s the point of ordering? Poor customer service - was informed they’d had a big order - in 20 mins? Fobbed off more like!

Holy moly the buttys from here are banging and the fish is decent and the chips are good too (rather go to arizona fr chips)

I have been here a few times and it seems the service only gets worse its like the staff have never seen a customer before. They just ignore you and talk to each other, if ya want some food it will take you 20mins just to order your food when there is only two customers in the building. If this was my place I would change the staff

I went in at 2pm today Sunday 3rd of June and asked for a bag of chips ok I should have said a small bag my fault. The girl asked for £1.70 I said I wanted a £1.30 bag she then gave me a sarcastic smile and said You didn’t say that did you .... well I said you never offered ether ? she then said in a snooty manor £1.70 (no please or thank you ) this to me is very poor service I took the chip I just couldn’t believe what had happened I was so shock to be spoken to like that I work in a shop and I would never dream of speaking to a customer like I was spoken to I will never buy chips from there again and I think this snotty girl is looseing you customers as I was levin another women said I don’t think I will bother going in there with that attitude.

We took a risk and placed a large order for good Friday when we usually go elsewhere however that risk paid off. The fish was amazing and the batter was so light and crispy. There were 7 of us and every single member of the group said how much better the fish was in comparison to their competition who we used the previous year. The prices are so reasonable and the staff super friendly. We will definitely be grabbing some again :)

The quality of the Fish and Chips was brilliant. But the sizes were terrible. We ordered a large size and I would have still been unhappy if they called it a small. It was tiny and meant to be our dinner before heading home. I live in London but my Mum and partner said they won’t be going back. I was told the portions used to be okay. Other customers in the shop also said they were tiny. I hope the staff take note otherwise there business may suffer.

I drive past 3 other fish and chip shops to get to this one as the fish is outstanding as is the friendly welcome from the staff

Great fish and chips! Love this place won’t go anywhere else. Lots of choice to select from and staff are very friendly even chatted to my 3 year old.

I was in Hull coz I had took my friend from Liverpool to a funeral there and when I was waiting from him I called here for my tea The young girl behind the counter was really lovely 🤪( Cute ) 😍even thought I had lost my voice which is not good when ye are from Liverpool coz we are hard 2 understand at the best of time ha ha Lovely 😘 and so was the food 🥘🐟🥘 A+++++++

I bought skate and chips from the downed fish and chip shop on ings road and I must say I really enjoyed them especially the skate it was a good size and tasted delicious

My local fish and chip shop, never once had a problem. I go on a weekly basis and tried pretty much everything they have to offer. Fish is always lovely and white, chips and cooked nicely and staff always lovely and friendly!!

Beautiful food me and the family eat often never disappointed. Glad to see the back of the rude obnoxious male fryer. The shop is clean with excellent food hygiene rating. The fish is always fresh n taste

Blonde haired girl serving saying it's her mum's shop so she wants what's best for it, whilst always checking her phone, had her nails full of nail varnish with no gloves on, and we all know when working with food we should have gloves on if women have their nails done, then they was an older dark haired woman who was cooking the food and she was in a world of her own, not listening to orders so she was making mistakes, 2 people in the queue just walked out because they could see the 2 women didn't have a clue, I then finally got my food and when I got home I had a sausage a bag of chip's and a carton of peas missing, i rang up to say what was missing and they didnt believe me, there was no way I was going back to wait for the women to mess it all up again, I haven't been back since, it was just terrible! Never again will I go back, they didn't have a clue.

Got fish and chips delivered for me and my partner and the fish was absolutely spot on, chips where so hot and fresh from the pan and gravy was perfect!

Being a regular customer at the Ings Road shop I was quite shocked to see what I saw on Good Friday. The que was so long it was a good forty minutes Until I entered the shop. It was very warm in there and all the servers were run off their feet doing the orders. As I was stood waiting myself and another gentleman noticed the lady who was frying the fish. She was obviously very hot and the ladies kept asking her if she was ok to which she replied yes. Having worked in the catering industry I know the rules and regulations about food handling and this lady broke them all. She was sweating quite badly from her forehead and face and kept wiping it away with an u gloved hand that she was handling the fish with. Somebody had ordered a sausage which they no longer wanted and the fryer kept taking pieces off it and eating it while she was frying.That action in the rule book is a big no no.it also states that the wearing of false nails and eyelashes is a no go area. On a good note the fish and chips were very good but come on Sue if I had been a health officer in that que it wouldn't have been good for your business.

Fantastic fish and chips at both shops. Been many times and will do again. All the staff are very professional, pleasant and helpful. Hope to be back soon.

This fish and chip shop sits on a very busy cross roads so there is nowhere to stop right outside. However, there is an Aldi just a few yards along and their car park is very handy for enjoying a haddock and chip supper in your car. The haddock is fresh, the batter crispy and so are the chips. The only chip shop until Patrington that make consistently crispy F&Cs.

Used to always order from here but recently put in an order and when it arrived and had been paid for we dished up and realised they had put extra fish in that we didn't order, 5 minutes later there was a loud banging on the window from the delivery driver who said the shop undercharged us and demanded we pay the extra that we owed despite it being the error of the shop itself, if this is the kind of business they are running trying to charge customers for mistakes made by incompetent staff then this place won't be receiving another penny from our household and I'd advise others to stay away!

Ive been a few times here and allways been impressed with the chips lovely clean abd the fish was lovely. Just been. NOT THE SAME AT ALL. The fish and chips looked awefull. Tastless and over cooked even tho done as fresh???? Chips seem v v poor qaulity. Wont come again

Having been to the other sue downs on gillshill road thats just terrible wasnt sure in trying it from here as thought it would be the same. I was wrong it was miles better no burnt or re fried chips like the other sue downs. Excellent service nice and friendly. Dont let the other sue downs put you of this one this.

Fish has always been good at this chippy - consistently so. The chips are much better these days too. Returned after some time and found it much improved over the last time in all ways. Excellent, very fresh Haddock and freshly cooked chips.I'll be back for more!

We use this fab chippy all the time. The jumbo sausage is to die for, the chips and scraps are sound, and the curry finishes it all off brilliantly. Would recomend people to try it for themselves. Love, love, love it!!!!

The fish here is always fresh - good size and very tasty, but for some reason the chips are consistently awful. They always come out too brown (old, sugary potatoes?) and covered in a fine black dust which screams 'Filter your fat!'. They are really letting themselves down. The fishcakes are to die for, but only if you have them without chips. Come on Sue, get it sorted!

Just had a fish from marfleet lane asked for a large fish couldn't believe how small it was, complained fair enough they said bring it back and they will change it shouldn't have to £4.50 personally I won't go again.

Well, I'm fussy when it comes to f&c as sometimes the batter gets soggy, the fish fillet thin or a tail end let alone naff cold chips. Well not here. I've ordered the jumbo fish by wife and dad a medium each and just two medium chips between us. Crisp fluffy batter, chunky fish (the jumbo is massive to be honest). The chips are plentiful and still red hot by the time we get hone to greatfield. Fabulous. The only take cash, no credit/bank cards.

Tasty but they always seem to get my order wrong so make sure you check ypur order before leaving !!!

Dry and tasteless food. only been once and never again. good looking shop but others in the area are far better.

Excellent fresh haddock in a choice of 3 sizes. Exceptionally good batter. Good choice of dishes and always some specials.

this the 3rd time I have used this chipshop on tweendykes road hull and everytime the fish has had bones in it.there is nothing wrong with the fish but they should take extra care in checking for bones.what if a child swalled one?will not be going back.

Tried here as I have tried most chippys in East hull & it was lovely & I think the best in the area. Fish was really tasty with crispy batter. Chips well cooked & not soggy, unlike some not so far away. Staff were pleasent . Would definitly recommend

The girl who served us yesterday had an awful attitude and was just plain rude! We paid for 2 chips thinking it would b enough for 3 people and it seems she purposely put less than a scoop in the 2 boxes and none in the 3rd box (a sensible person would have shared 2 portions between the 3 boxes........) overall she was a complete moron, even getting the order wrong. Clearly working in a simple takeaway is beyond her capabilities. Fish was average, overall nothing special. Won't be using them again.

we had it delivred a few times and it was very nice and hot however after recieving a delivery one day it was cold bland the batter was soggy and wet and disgusting i couldnt eat it the one on tweendykes is spot on though
