We really enjoyed the views, the food was beautifully presented and very tasty apart from the mussels in the seafood linguine which were slightly gritty. We had lovely wine and great desert wine too. Really recommend the scallops starter and the beef Ragu main, and the botrytis desert wine was delicious.

What an amazing Sunday roast they do here. The pork with crackling is amazing. Special mention to our waiter Brandon who was so attentive and friendly. 10/10

Enjoyed my meal but it was just warm. Could & should have been hotter. I did not ask for it to be reheated, but sure it would have been done. Overall pleasing.

Been here a handful of times and the concensus is that there's plenty of emphasis on appearance but no emphasis on taste. One for the show ponies.

We went early in the evening on a Thursday. Wonderful place just at the top of the marina, with indoor and outdoor seating. Very friendly staff, who are very welcoming and accommodating to requests. Service was quick and the food came quickly. Freshly cooked, high quality ingredients. Delicious food. Great restaurant to visit if you are in the area.

2014 update - regretfully last few visits have been plagued by slow service, particularly in mornings. Staff so not seem as attentive and numerous as they used to be. (Historic) - A lovely location, well laid out with lovely indoor out outdoor seating, ample free parking nearby as well. Large, varied menu with great breakfast options - staff are typically helpful and attentive. Prices are moderate to high for most things, and the coffees are of a pathetically small size - but otherwise its a good place for a nice meal out.

Read the reviews, and were a little sceptical, but the place seemed to have a good Saturday night vibe. The server from South Africa was wonderful and recommended the Cod supreme, which was fabulous. My fiancée's zucchini were over battered, and she offered to have them re made, but everything else was top notch. Fabulous, bright witty staff, from the dapper Maître d' downwards. We will definitely return.

The staff was courteous and professional. However, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the quality of the coffee I was served. The milk was excessively hot, and the flavour of the coffee was subpar and unacceptable.

Excellent food and service. The restaurant is very loud and echoey when busy. Could do with partitions or some eiling baffles to absorb some of the sound.

Went there today. Food was OK but very expensive and waitress kept dropping the cutlery as she went back to kitchen. And that was for every table she served? And it wasn't busy god help patrons on a busy day!!! Promise high and deliver low is not a good thing? You don't live up to the hype . It'll be spoons next time in Portishead

Great food, great atmosphere, great decor, great location, great staff, great service and superb value for money .... Sunday gets extremely busy. Staff are rushed off their feet. The staff serving behind the bar could do with a full time glass cleaner so it will free up the bar staff so they can concentrate on making those delicious cocktails... Every time they have to spend time cleaning the glasses that's one less cocktail for the customer :)

Coffee order incorrect, food was cold and the restaurant door was left open for a long while on a 3 degreeC day causing a cold blast throughout. Never to be repeated.

To be fair, a Monday lunchtime was never going to be busy. Food pretty good and good value. Service pretty average; one waitress v.good, one not really.

Expensive! 50-60 pounds per person easily. Bad "fried" chicken wings. Good Filet steak. Tips are added to bill automatically which is really NOT done! Would not visit again.

Went with my mum, sister's, son and daughter in law for Christmas get together. Had a very nice evening the food was very nice and the waitresses were very kind helpful and lovely. Definitely will be going back

I met a friend for lunch at Aqua today. We ordered fried squid which was listed on the menu as a "small plate" and was £8.50. The server said it was a starter but we could have a larger portion as a light lunch if we liked. When it came it covered half of a medium sized plate and was accompanied by just a bit of garlic mayonnaise. I could not believe it when we got the bill - £39.93!!! All we had to drink was tap water and one tonic water. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture and didn't have time to dispute the bill. Will not be going back though - a complete rip off.

I'm lucky to live close to Aqua and get to go here often. The staff take a lot of pride in their service and are always wonderful, 10/10 service. The food, atmosphere, and cocktails are great, I recommend the cosmopolitan!

A very pleasant early evening meal with the family

Just had a lovely evening with family to celebrate our an anniversary- we were looked after beautifully with yummy food! The atmosphere was great though the music was a little loud. The service was wonderful- they made us feel really special especially my husband and I who were celebrating our anniversary

First time at Aqua yesterday. 9 of us went for a bottomless brunch. The staff were incredible! Glasses constantly topped up, food lovely. Highly recommended!

Food was stunning. Everyone had different dishes but each looked equally delicious! I didn't give 5 stars because when we split the bill we were given an individual service charge that was a percentage of each bill. We asked to remove the service charge and the staff happily obliged.

Fab restaurant in Portishead Marina. The staff were friendly & helpful and the food was delicious. We will definitely revisit the next time we are in Portishead.

Normally good food but today not so good. Chips on lunch menu were not crispy and potatoes were bruised (black bits). Aqua did then give a discount.

We've eaten here lots of times. It's always busy with a really nice atmosphere. Eat indoors, under the canopy or outside: all with marina views. Great food, great service. What's not to like?

I will start with the positive.. the food was good we have no complaints here..however the service was terrible, throughout our entire meal we were not offered a second drink and despite attempts we could not get any attention to order a drink. Once we had finished our main our plates sat on our table for over 10 mins before they were taken. We then waited another 10 mins to be asked if we wanted a dessert. We declined. I never have an objection to paying a tip or service charge however to pay a service charge for no service is just not acceptable. It’s a shame that the poor service ruined what could have been a nice experience.

One of the assistant managers seems to have a terrible attitude towards staff (staff who are actually doing their job) causing one of them to walk out. Your restaurant would be a lot more profitable if you acted in a more calm and professional manner. Never known anything quite like it. :/ If I could put zero stars, I would.

Firstly, I must mention the outstanding service provided by the staff. When we arrived, we brought along a special birthday cake that my friend had made for my son. The restaurant staff went above and beyond to accommodate our request and ensured that everything was set up perfectly for the cake presentation. Their attentiveness and helpfulness truly made my son's birthday even more memorable. In addition to their exceptional service, we were pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of the drinks offered. The restaurant prepared a wide range of refreshing beverages that perfectly complemented our meal. Furthermore, the highlight of our dining experience was undoubtedly the special of the day. The chef's creativity and skill were on full display, as the dish exceeded our expectations in terms of taste and presentation. It left a lasting impression on all of us, and we couldn't help but savor every bite. Overall, our visit to this restaurant was nothing short of fantastic. We went to Aqua for dinner without any kind of expectations and we were complete blown away by the quality of the food, exceptional customer service and knowledge of the staff. Shem welcomed us with a bright smile and ensured we were looked after from start to finish. When we ordered a French Malbec, he then came back with two options for us to taste and choose from, as, given the different wine we had enjoyed before, he thought we would enjoy the Argentinian Malbec more; and he was so right!! Our server was Izzy and she was absolutely brilliant, even coming outside to top our glasses of wine whilst we were getting some fresh air. The food was spectacular and we had a fantastic evening. We’ll be back for sure! Thanks so much Shem and Izzy for making our evening so special and memorable.

Possibly the best customer service I've ever experienced. Recently been told to cut out gluten as I'm at high risk of celiac which has been a steep learning curve. Without even batting an eye waitress was able to suggest an amazing breakfast and even made adjustments so I still had bacon. Impressive knowledge of the menu and amazing customer service, I felt really welcome and that my request was no problem. Thank you.

Ordered the scallops for starter and wild mushroom truffle pasta for main. There was no taste of truffle in the pasta, the pasta dish tasted like something you could make better at home. Pretty underwhelming.

We went for Sunday lunch, We all had to send our food back due to it not being cold Our next set of food was nice and hot, but some of it was burnt. The service girls were lovely and couldn't have apologies enough. The puddings were amazing, But to add insult to injury, instead of taking £10 off the bill, they added it to the service charge. I've been to a couple of these places, I have never been disappointed but wouldn't go back to this one

Unfortunately we didn’t have a very good experience this past weekend. We were greeted and was seated outside with some menus. We were then left and not asked if we wanted any drinks for 25 mins. We then put in our food order at the same time. Our starter was served separately after an hour. We then had our mains served which were £35 steaks each and had to be sent back because they were supposed to be medium rare but were in fact blue. When brought out again they were still blue. Shame because we were recommended to go here but sadly will not be returning. Very poor experience.

AQUA is a classic and contemporary Italian restaurant serving dishes in a light and airy waterside setting with inside and outdoor dining, or with a takeaway option (no delivery). Perfect for casual or romantic occasions. The venue is accessible and child friendly, too. Well stocked bar, offering both alcoholic and mocktails etc. Service was prompt and friendly. Popular with the locals and visitors to the area. Lovely setting next to the waterside and other similar restaurants in the area. The food was served quickly and was delicious, especially the desserts 😋.

Amazing Sunday lunch with delicious gravy. The best aranchini I've ever had. Staff were welcoming, kind, attentive and just amazing in general. Can't wait to visit again!

Visiting Portishead, a friend recommended this venue as a nice marina location. We sat outside in the sunshine and ordered a margarita pizza and triple cooked chips to share as we only wanted a little something . We realised we had been overlooked when folk after us were served before us. When we raised the issue, food was brought to us quickly, but sadly, the pizza was pale and soggy ,lacking seasoning, and the chips certainly not triple cooked as the menu described. I left most of mine as it was not a pleasant experience.

Such a disappointment. We were not Informed there would be an hour wait between the starter and main course. When the starter of olives and chicken wings arrived, we had high hopes. 45 mins later we were told 'it's okay I've seen your pizzas in the oven. Hopefully that was a mistake because they would have cremated after another 15 minutes. When the £15 pizza arrived it was basically a margarita pizza with 3 bits of chorritzo and approx 3 mushrooms and 5 very small peppers I took a picture but not able to upload. We were kept waiting to pay, I voiced my complaint and my fiancee asked for the £5 service charge to be removed. ( an apology and reduction would have been better) As we were leaving a lady was complaining of a 2 hour wait !! I get it that it was busy...but communication helps. We will not be returning.

We often have a meal in Aqua as they are great for brunch, lunch or dinner. Lovely choice of food on the menu, good service and my children love it too, especially the mocktails.

We had a lovely meal and taken good care off. It was our Anniversary and Chem poured us a lovely complimentary glass of bubbly. It was made a really special day and me and my wife would like to say a Big Thank-you to all the Staff.

We first visited Aqua on Portishead marina several months ago for Sunday lunch. It was probably the best Sunday lunch we had had for a long time so we went back several times. Last Sunday, 19th Feb we took my son who was visiting from America. We had told him how much we had enjoyed our previous visits. Unfortunately they were short staffed and the service was very, very slow and the food was lukewarm, we left after waiting 30 minutes for a dessert menu. We thought of sending the lukewarm food back but decided we had waited so long to get served we had plans for the afternoon so didn’t have another 30 minutes to wait. We did ask the waitress as we left the restaurant to let the chef know our food was cool. This was not an attempt to get a reduction off the bill as we had already paid, we feel that it’s better to give feed back at the time in the hope someone will listen. Whilst we understand staffing shortages cannot be avoided and the staff were all very good, serving cool food totally spoils a meal.

First and last time visiting here. Poor food taste and very slow service. Iv had better burgers from a burger van for a quarter of the price.
