Just an amazing place to eat and meet friends. Superb choice for kids and adults. Choice of eating inside, or outside( with covers, rugs for the lap, and heating. Dog friendly outside.

I didn’t get to eat here but in a state of emergency, I stopped by to ask for help and the staff couldn’t have been more empathetic and kind and I honestly owe a lot to them. I didn’t get their names but if you were working there 10/2 at around 1am, from the bottom of my heart - thank you, from the crazy lady who gatecrashed your closing shift <3

Delicious food and really accommodating!

Brilliant food and exceptional service.

Service was outstanding and the food was pretty good only spoilt by the fact the room was very loud. The acoustics must be bad or something but it was almost unbearable.

Had a very enjoyable Christmas menu lunch, with 7 friends. The food was excellent, as was the service. The staff were very attentive and polite. Would highly recommend.

We had the most incredible dining experience at Aqua in Portishead today! From start to finish, everything was exceptional. We started with the pork belly bites, sticky bao buns and squid, which were all bursting with flavor—especially those bao buns, which were absolutely to die for. For mains, the fillet steak and seafood linguine were perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. To top it off, the desserts were divine: the sticky toffee pudding was indulgent and rich, while the crème brûlée was silky and perfectly caramelized. The staff were amazing and made our evening even more special. A special shout-out to Jojo and Harrison, as well as the rest of the team, for their outstanding service and warm hospitality. It was an unforgettable experience, and we can’t wait to come back again soon. Aqua Portishead has truly set the bar high—thank you for a wonderful evening!

I made the mistake of assuming that Aqua was just another chain restaurant.. It lacks a little charm due to its modern building and tented frontage. However, this is more than made up for by the warm and friendly service and good food. We all had various starters, Sunday roasts and desserts. All the food was excellent as were the cocktails and mocktails. There bitter was canned but at least it was local and quality and probably better than drinking something that's been sat about. Slightly miffed that despite asking if the 'set Sunday menu' was available and then ordering from it, that we were charged full price as we were outside of set meal times. However, given the service and food (especially the freshness of the veg) we still felt it was good value. The kids meals were of exceptional value and quality. This made a real difference as they are often overlooked. We had a lovely time and will definitely come again.

Great meal, I have been here a number of times and the food and the service is consistently good in my experience. Super friendly staff, nice hot food, cooked well. The menu has some lovely choices. Friendly waiting staff and super attentive manager/front of house.

Online reservation didn't work, but they found a table for us anyway. Busy night so the service was a little slow, but overall they were very friendly and helpful. Food was top notch and I ended up eating too much!

Only came across this place for breakfast as Wetherspoons kitchen was closed. Didn't realise they did breakfast. Food was really good quality, and it shows in the price. The staff were really welcoming and couldn't be more accommodating. Will definitely use again

Went for Sunday lunch and the food and service were excellent. They were great with my young niece and nephews.

The reception and attention to service given by Shem and Asia was outstanding. So refreshing to find a restaurant not cutting corners with food quality or competency of staff. All our dishes - the pork belly, olives, sea bass, and lamb shank were superb - We will be back!

Went for a birthday meal, service was excellent, we ordered the ribeye steak and they got our steaks mixed up but they fixed the issue quickly, food came quick and the food was really great! Was a little pricey but worth it. However £10ish for a gin and tonic for my partner I thought was a bit steep. Definitely would go back for the food and service - they do add a service charge which is not mentioned / advertised at all and we did ask to take it off however this is no reflection to the service as they were excellent.. we just do not agree with American tipping culture when it’s “forced” but they did remove it at our request with no issue. Probably would have tipped if the service charge wasn’t automatically added. Again this is no reflection of the service as the girls were excellent.

We spent a very enjoyable afternoon at Aqua in the sunshine by the water today for a 'big birthday'. Our party's age range spanned almost 60 years and some niche dietary requirements and preferences, yet the great variety in the menu ensured everyone found 'just the thing' for them. Our food -both mains and dessert- was delicious and beautifully presented; we knew it would be, as two members of the group had enjoyed a gorgeous lunch at Aqua the day before and recommended it as a result! What really made the afternoon 'pop' was the fantastic service we received. We so appreciated the kind attention to detail; from the thoughtful meet-and-greet as I tentatively loitered outside, and the easy allocation of preferred seating, to a myriad nice touches throughout our meal; the team at Aqua made top-notch hospitality look heartfelt and effortless and ensured my birthday celebration was very memorable for all the right reasons. Special thanks to Meghan whose great 'can-do' attitude and responsive ownership of our dining experience felt like a warm hug. My daughters are already asking when we can come back...

We really enjoyed the views, the food was beautifully presented and very tasty apart from the mussels in the seafood linguine which were slightly gritty. We had lovely wine and great desert wine too. Really recommend the scallops starter and the beef Ragu main, and the botrytis desert wine was delicious.

Enjoyed my meal but it was just warm. Could & should have been hotter. I did not ask for it to be reheated, but sure it would have been done. Overall pleasing.

What an amazing Sunday roast they do here. The pork with crackling is amazing. Special mention to our waiter Brandon who was so attentive and friendly. 10/10

We went early in the evening on a Thursday. Wonderful place just at the top of the marina, with indoor and outdoor seating. Very friendly staff, who are very welcoming and accommodating to requests. Service was quick and the food came quickly. Freshly cooked, high quality ingredients. Delicious food. Great restaurant to visit if you are in the area.

2014 update - regretfully last few visits have been plagued by slow service, particularly in mornings. Staff so not seem as attentive and numerous as they used to be. (Historic) - A lovely location, well laid out with lovely indoor out outdoor seating, ample free parking nearby as well. Large, varied menu with great breakfast options - staff are typically helpful and attentive. Prices are moderate to high for most things, and the coffees are of a pathetically small size - but otherwise its a good place for a nice meal out.

Read the reviews, and were a little sceptical, but the place seemed to have a good Saturday night vibe. The server from South Africa was wonderful and recommended the Cod supreme, which was fabulous. My fiancée's zucchini were over battered, and she offered to have them re made, but everything else was top notch. Fabulous, bright witty staff, from the dapper Maître d' downwards. We will definitely return.

The staff was courteous and professional. However, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the quality of the coffee I was served. The milk was excessively hot, and the flavour of the coffee was subpar and unacceptable.

Excellent food and service. The restaurant is very loud and echoey when busy. Could do with partitions or some eiling baffles to absorb some of the sound.

Brandon was amazing kept the drinks flowing and made my experience the best I've ever had, he deserves all the tips and a pay rise!!!

Went there today. Food was OK but very expensive and waitress kept dropping the cutlery as she went back to kitchen. And that was for every table she served? And it wasn't busy god help patrons on a busy day!!! Promise high and deliver low is not a good thing? You don't live up to the hype . It'll be spoons next time in Portishead

Coffee order incorrect, food was cold and the restaurant door was left open for a long while on a 3 degreeC day causing a cold blast throughout. Never to be repeated.

Great food, great atmosphere, great decor, great location, great staff, great service and superb value for money .... Sunday gets extremely busy. Staff are rushed off their feet. The staff serving behind the bar could do with a full time glass cleaner so it will free up the bar staff so they can concentrate on making those delicious cocktails... Every time they have to spend time cleaning the glasses that's one less cocktail for the customer :)

To be fair, a Monday lunchtime was never going to be busy. Food pretty good and good value. Service pretty average; one waitress v.good, one not really.

Expensive! 50-60 pounds per person easily. Bad "fried" chicken wings. Good Filet steak. Tips are added to bill automatically which is really NOT done! Would not visit again.

Went with my mum, sister's, son and daughter in law for Christmas get together. Had a very nice evening the food was very nice and the waitresses were very kind helpful and lovely. Definitely will be going back

I met a friend for lunch at Aqua today. We ordered fried squid which was listed on the menu as a "small plate" and was £8.50. The server said it was a starter but we could have a larger portion as a light lunch if we liked. When it came it covered half of a medium sized plate and was accompanied by just a bit of garlic mayonnaise. I could not believe it when we got the bill - £39.93!!! All we had to drink was tap water and one tonic water. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture and didn't have time to dispute the bill. Will not be going back though - a complete rip off.

We had breakfast here and the service was absolutely amazing. The food was tasty and well presented. The place has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and nice views over the water and some of the boats.

I'm lucky to live close to Aqua and get to go here often. The staff take a lot of pride in their service and are always wonderful, 10/10 service. The food, atmosphere, and cocktails are great, I recommend the cosmopolitan!

A very pleasant early evening meal with the family

Just had a lovely evening with family to celebrate our an anniversary- we were looked after beautifully with yummy food! The atmosphere was great though the music was a little loud. The service was wonderful- they made us feel really special especially my husband and I who were celebrating our anniversary

First time at Aqua yesterday. 9 of us went for a bottomless brunch. The staff were incredible! Glasses constantly topped up, food lovely. Highly recommended!

Food was stunning. Everyone had different dishes but each looked equally delicious! I didn't give 5 stars because when we split the bill we were given an individual service charge that was a percentage of each bill. We asked to remove the service charge and the staff happily obliged.

Fab restaurant in Portishead Marina. The staff were friendly & helpful and the food was delicious. We will definitely revisit the next time we are in Portishead.

Normally good food but today not so good. Chips on lunch menu were not crispy and potatoes were bruised (black bits). Aqua did then give a discount.

We've eaten here lots of times. It's always busy with a really nice atmosphere. Eat indoors, under the canopy or outside: all with marina views. Great food, great service. What's not to like?

One of the assistant managers seems to have a terrible attitude towards staff (staff who are actually doing their job) causing one of them to walk out. Your restaurant would be a lot more profitable if you acted in a more calm and professional manner. Never known anything quite like it. :/ If I could put zero stars, I would.

I will start with the positive.. the food was good we have no complaints here..however the service was terrible, throughout our entire meal we were not offered a second drink and despite attempts we could not get any attention to order a drink. Once we had finished our main our plates sat on our table for over 10 mins before they were taken. We then waited another 10 mins to be asked if we wanted a dessert. We declined. I never have an objection to paying a tip or service charge however to pay a service charge for no service is just not acceptable. It’s a shame that the poor service ruined what could have been a nice experience.

Firstly, I must mention the outstanding service provided by the staff. When we arrived, we brought along a special birthday cake that my friend had made for my son. The restaurant staff went above and beyond to accommodate our request and ensured that everything was set up perfectly for the cake presentation. Their attentiveness and helpfulness truly made my son's birthday even more memorable. In addition to their exceptional service, we were pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of the drinks offered. The restaurant prepared a wide range of refreshing beverages that perfectly complemented our meal. Furthermore, the highlight of our dining experience was undoubtedly the special of the day. The chef's creativity and skill were on full display, as the dish exceeded our expectations in terms of taste and presentation. It left a lasting impression on all of us, and we couldn't help but savor every bite. Overall, our visit to this restaurant was nothing short of fantastic. The excellent service, delightful drinks, and exceptional food made it an unforgettable experience for our entire group. We left feeling satisfied and eager to return in the future. Without a doubt, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. You won't be disappointed. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

We went to Aqua for dinner without any kind of expectations and we were complete blown away by the quality of the food, exceptional customer service and knowledge of the staff. Shem welcomed us with a bright smile and ensured we were looked after from start to finish. When we ordered a French Malbec, he then came back with two options for us to taste and choose from, as, given the different wine we had enjoyed before, he thought we would enjoy the Argentinian Malbec more; and he was so right!! Our server was Izzy and she was absolutely brilliant, even coming outside to top our glasses of wine whilst we were getting some fresh air. The food was spectacular and we had a fantastic evening. We’ll be back for sure! Thanks so much Shem and Izzy for making our evening so special and memorable.

Possibly the best customer service I've ever experienced. Recently been told to cut out gluten as I'm at high risk of celiac which has been a steep learning curve. Without even batting an eye waitress was able to suggest an amazing breakfast and even made adjustments so I still had bacon. Impressive knowledge of the menu and amazing customer service, I felt really welcome and that my request was no problem. Thank you.
