Subway - M61 Rivington Services in Bolton

Very rude and unhelpful male staff member in shop when I asked where the sandwiches were located. Won’t go back. Staff need further training on customer service.

Absolutely disgusting. Work going on in the shop area so temporary portaloos outside. In disgusting condition. Nowhere to wash hands, then you are expected to go in and buy food. If this isn’t illegal it should be. Do not stop here. Find a decent service station.

In fairness to Subway, this is more about the services itself. It's filthy. the toilets are an absolute disgrace. No soap, the hand driers don't work, mirrors cracked and missing. The layout is a nightmare with poor signage. By the look of the knuckle-dragging inhabitants it's not going to get better any time soon.

Called here for some food after a long trip. The whole place was absolutely filthy! Not one clean table, food all over the floors. Didn’t look like it had been cleaned all day. No soap in toilets. Shocking really after all the hygiene regulations that were in place during covid that somewhere could end up so filthy! It wasn’t busy, there were 3 staff in subway, & staff in Starbucks just stood around chatting. Couldn’t wait to get out of the place. Will actively avoid in future.

Only stopped for the loo and both the ladies and the gents toilets were filthy.....why spend all that money on the recent toilet refurbishment and not clean them?? Madness....

Smaller services with plenty parking , clean toilets and a number of eateries. Only wanted coffee today - all good.

I had a back injury when lifting my son after using the services toilets. I was in a great deal of pain, could hardly walk and couldn't lift my son again. I approached staff to ask for help. The spa staff were extremely helpful getting me painkillers and finding me somewhere to sit to allow us to eat. The subway staff were also very helpful offering us a highchair and activity pack to keep my son occupied. Once the painkillers kicked in one of the subway staff members then walked us to our car to ensure my son didn't run off into traffic as I couldn't pick him up, and then lifted him into his car seat as I couldn't do it. Without their help I don't know how I would have coped. Now home safe and layed up in bed for a few days. Thank you so much to the staff at Rivington services, I'm sure you are often under appreciated, but I appreciate you! Great service!

I pass the services daily on my commute.I am yet to be disappointed with the service. Been served a few times this week by Jason who is as friendly as Georgie. A really warm welcome & friendly face are what keeps me from going to my local Costa on my way - the coffee is a fresher brew & the service is better. Definitely important to make my decisions to go! Such little things that are natural to the staff are what makes a big difference. Great service and always attentive

Amazing service - served by Georgie. Served by this lady a few times, she is attentive & pleasant. Really pushing Starbucks up there for their service. I visit a few Starbucks but this one is my favourite due to her customer service skills. Nothing is trouble, she is so pleasant & welcoming. Such a friendly service. Thankyou Georgie - continue to be yourself.

The services were wonderful! Not just subway, but all restaurants were clean, spacious and not all crammed in together. The toilets were also clean, smelt nice and there were plenty! The natural light of the building was also lovely!

If I stand there to get served I should get served Not...You could see them completely ignoring me no time for me What upset me couple of people went to the till and got served I said to the lady is anyone serving she replied you have to order from the till I told her to stick it and walked away disgusted....

Most disgusting, unclean, unhygienic, vile toilets I have ever had the misfortune to have to use. I thought they were temporary but even so there is absolutely no excuse for the lack of basic cleanliness. Obviously hadn't been cleaned for a very very long time if at all so it's not like I was just unfortunate. Really don't know how the place is allowed to stay open with facilities like that, people use these before eating there, beggars belief in my opinion.

Whole outdoor area is in complete darkness. Dangerous to walk around and can't see exit signs. Also, not enough pedestrian walkways (I think, it wasn't easy to see).

Not kept clean with bad mannered staff. 4 food establishments and NO bathroom facility. You can use a plastic cube outside the main entrance to the Spar but you can’t change a child etc Shocking and certainly not sanitary

Sent a £100 penalty notice from Parking Eye after using the services on my way in and out of Manchester. Fortunately have evidence to show I didn’t stay in this @@@@hole for long. Horrible! Never going back.

The station has 2 subways. One on either side. We are able to walk across a farm to our parents house with the station in the middle! It's a nice little stop off inbetween the walk. It's always very clean and never feel a busy or stressful.

It is not a pleasant place to stop. Few facilities, not great service and not a great atmosphere. If you are travelling East better to carry on to Birch but if going South its a fair way to the next service area at Knutsford.

the spar shop and food outlets at Rivington are the most reasonably priced I've come across--will call again--nice not to be ripped off

Excellent subway, generous portions, friendly helpful staff, best subway Ive been to, clean an fast service.

Just bought sandwiches 1.45pm Sunday 3rd September fair play to lad serving working hard to do all three jobs, heating, putting on salad and taking money for queue. Two women meanwhile, one on phone to be fair discussing broken coffee machine and another staring and poking at the coffee machine leaving him to struggle.

Food nice always get what you ask for and its always hot staff do change a lot but that's fine always call in
