Subway in Tendring

Ordered online fir delivery. Estimated delivery time 2:30-2:50. At 3:15 rung store as food not arrived. Told they had been waiting for bread to cook. Food eventually arrived at 3:49, no cheese as per order and no crinkle wedges ( free if ordered over £20 ). Driver rung door bell, handed food and left, no sorry for delay or even a smile. Really disappointed

Ordered online, took around an hour to arrive, food was warm, lacking filling in both our subs eg: Wasn't as full as it would of been if you went into store, ordered 2 Cadbury’s Caramel Muffins and we got 2 Oreo muffins instead (I couldn't have it - So my other half now has it for later) There was no note in bag to say they swapped them etc. And the bag well they charged us 20p for a bag which turns out to be a paper bag! then 50p for a service charge plus £2.49 delivery on top. It wasn't bad, not sure we would use again tho.

Poor service. I bought food on 25/12 and nothing arrived. Apparently the store was closed, but why did you take the £26 ??

One poor guy working on his own but didn't have to wait too long. GF option is very welcome.

Was served by the snottiest young man, who after taking £9 off of me for what was effectively a toasted cheese baguette, proceeded to argue with me until swearing, that was the whole contents of an Italian BMT. I could not believe it I have been eating the Italian BMT at subway longer than that young fellow has been pulling his plonker. Unbelievable. Yet Clacton. Never going to eat in Subway again

I went at 20:15 for a sandwich but was surprised to see staff was on the way to closing down ,when I asked why they said they closed at 20:00 even on the website it sais 21:00????

Awful, ordered at 12:00 and don’t get here until 14:00, but when it did get here it wasn’t even what I ordered tried to ring through around 50 times and no answer it sounded like someone kept answering it then quickly hanging up, worst service I’ve ever received

Absolute joke !!! Ordered 2 sandwiches that took 4 hours to arrive! Ended up arriving at 5pm for dinner time and the whole order was wrong pathetic service wouldn't rate 1 star let alone 5

Ordered via Just Eat. Delivery time given. Contacted half hour after when it was due as hadn't arrived, delivery time was moved back another hour. Came to that estimated delivery time and still no food. 2 hours after the order was placed, got a text saying the order was cancelled! With the excuse of no drivers. Don't advertise as delivery if you have no drivers!

I’m extremely disappointed with the service I’ve received from your restaurant, I had to wait 3 hours for my order which when it finally turned up was freezing cold and the completely the wrong order I then tried to call the restaurant and did 19 times before I finally got through to someone who said they would have it ready in 30 minutes, I then drove to your restaurant to find out they have no bread and it would take over an hour to cook by this point I had ordered over 4 hours ago, I find this level of service unacceptable for the size of your company. It’s definitely going to make me think twice before ordering from you ever again!!!

If i could leave zero stars i would! Waited an hour for food for them to ring us and tell us to cancel on the app, knowing we cant without them doing so on their end! DISGUSTING attitude by one of the females in the background telling the lady what to say on the phone, and NO refund because they are not cancelling on their end !!!!!!!!!

One of my favorite places to eat, amazing staff, care to details, I always get what I want and leave happy.

Ordered on Just Eat this evening, waited over an hour for our food to arrive. Checked the updates and said our order was cancelled. Rang up and the attitude on the manager (female) was atrocious, no help at all, told us the drive had been knocking on our door with no answer for 20 minutes. Utter rubbish, we have been here the whole time and no one knocked. Absolutely disgusting. Will not be ordering from here again any time soon.

Holly who works at the Clacton-on-Sea town centre Subway is fantastic and a real asset to their team!

It’s rare that someone actually sighs at you down the phone when you’re trying to sort out an issue…turns out at this particular branch…that’s ok. I ordered 12 cookies and a tub of ice cream via just eat last night, it was not delivered and I tried to call the restaurant 5 times, then emailed just eat twice. I get that dealing with a delivery company is tough as a restaurant but I’ve just been informed by the lady who answered the phone at subway…it’s not their issue, they don’t have ANY contact with just eat and they are about to close (which is 20 minutes away) and then she huffed and cut off my call…absolutely delightful customer service. We seem to be in a time that no one’s taking accountability, the customer is 100% wrong and should just shut up and go away, call was made at 20.40 on June 1st

The food is good same as other subways however one particular member of staff very rude she clearly got out of bed the wrong side! Very loud in telling another customer their payment card would not be accepted. A delivery drive queued for food and was told to go sit down customers come first you only get your food at the end of your shift. Very belittling to the driver and there was only one customer behind him.

Ordered on just eat my food was an hour late with no updates. When food arrives one of the meals was incorrect with missing ingredients and nothing I ask for. Won't be ordering again

Ordered using just eat Food was ordered for 2pm, first update was food would arrive at 14.20, it didnt, next update, after using the app to find out where my food was, will be delivered at 14.40, app claimed it as delivered at 15.00, finally turned up at 15.30 half of it was literally inedible as freezing cold and also some how undercooked (wedges amd pizza slices, also what is the point of a cold toasted subway) and ended in the bin.

Tables are abit close together when eating inside. Quick service and fresh food

We recently visited subway for lunch and it wasn’t too bad, they had a excellent variety of meats and salad and we where served fast and nicely. The reason for the three star is that unfortunately I did find plastic in my sub the staff were very forgiving and even offered to remake my sub and gave us some free cookies as well.

I took my two children here and the staff tried to overcharge me. When I pointed it out they practically threw my change and napkins at me. Terrible service and attitude!!!!

I never leave reviews of this kind, but I thought I need to put a good word for the girls working here. This is the best subway I been in the last year. Honestly. Both girls worked so fast, they were polite and smiling, the place is clean and everything looks fresh.

Whenever I order there is always either something missing or the order is wrong and can never seem to get hold of the store with an issue cos they never answer the phone.

Sometimes don't get points other than that good service. Some staff better than others. Callum the manager very good at his job. Always there to help. This is a good subway. Check it out.

Poor service. Have ordered delivery and gone to the store a few times recently. In store poor customer service, a smile from staff wouldn’t hurt. Got my order wrong every time on delivery.

Having now read the previous " reports " on this Subway, it seems that I am not alone in finding my visit " dissappointing ". The rudeness of the two staff members was quite shocking and the whole public area needs a good clean.

Quick, clean and a friendly service.

Gone downhill, hardly any salad in the sandwiches anymore makes their wraps no better than supermarkets packaged wraps and they seem to be preoccupied with online orders to the detriment of walk in customers.

Sadly most subway are the same my husband and kids love it but as a vegan the sandwich are not great

Ordered through just eat, food took over 2 hours to arrive, called the shop twice and was told it was out for delivery both times even though my calls were 40 mins apart. Won't be ordering again.

Delicious sandwiches here, great for lunch. Price is alright and staff are friendly. Only negative experience I had was when I ordered a delivery one time. Took a very long time and when it arrived it was almost cold. I typically order the white Italian, 6 inch sub with meatballs and cheese toasted. I then have lettuce and sweetcorn for veg. Very tasty.

found an olive in my sub and it tasted of garlic which i didnt have. left most of it. wont be going back

friendly staff but the sub tasted of garlic which i didnt have. i think they cut the sub with a knife which had previously cut something with garlic. i also found an olive in the sub which i hate. i threw most of it away. wouldnt return

Restraint was very clean and welcoming, we were served with little delay and the food was delicious outside seating area was fairly clean

Got rid of the f’real milkshakes sad about that but love the sandwich and always fresh f’reals was very nice when we got them

Average food, but generous with the fillings. Let down massively by inconsiderate staff and punters. There is zero point in having face mask rules if they're not enforced. Five of the six customers in store alongside us weren't wearing masks, and no-one was questioned. Two of the five staff members had their masks over their chins. I wouldn't bother visiting this store, especially as case numbers are rising.

Was fairly busy on lunchtime visit however didn't wait long. Staff was very polite and efficient. A quick but good service. Good portion sizes in the subs

Usually 5 stars I eat at Subway once a week. But last 2 orders from Subway delivered by Just Eats have been lacking. Ordered The tuna sub my usual normally my favourite a perfect amount of tuna but my last two orders have literally no tuna in it ? Last week was better as had a small amount but this time it seriously wasn't worth putting the tuna in it. It was literally eating a lettuce cucumber and mayo roll with a little cheese I won't be using the Clacton branch again. Shame as this is my favourite lunch takeaway.

Like to grab a sub as an alternative to the usual burgers and chips. Good value for money and tastier in my opinion.

Same great food as every other subway - but poor management and staff training; thier till went down (which I agree is out of thier control) but there was no communication to the people in the queue - we waited over 30 min with our "freshly toasted" food getting cold. A great disappointment compared to other stores

When I order via UberEats it either turns up incorrectly or takes over an hour even when the delivery time says 15 minutes. They refuse to take ownership of their timings and are happy to continue to make their service levels look good even when they're terrible

Terrible service. Order arrived late and cold, told them about it, replacement order arrived just as late with items missing. Team member i spoke to was more interested in arguing and trying to make it my problem, while making up excuses and lies. Like it was a massive issue in the first place. Bad customer service especially from guy i spoke to.

Over the past month I have had subway deliver to me about 15 times, Spending on average about £20 each time. I really enjoy there food but the last two experiences I’ve had with them have been shocking. I’ve called the shop directly to express my disappointment down the phone the lady I was speaking to over the phone didn’t seem bothered with the fact that my food was wrong I’ve tried to explain that the food was cold and also missing some of my meal It’s a shame as I’m also now missing out on one of my favourite takeaways but do to there bad manors and shocking customers service I will not be using the any Clacton branch again.

Ordered food at 14.00pm and my good still hasn't arrived called them about 100 times and they still haven't not answered my phone call I would definitely not recommend this place waste of space

Friendly staff, covid protection measures are good and just had a lovely cup of vanilla latte from them.

Fairly switched on but not completely. Ordered a sub and told him which bread I wanted then tuned out for a minute whilst checking out the menu only to see the guy had started to load up a foot long when I'd actually gone in for a 6". Not to worry as I was hungrier than I'd first thought. I will note the staff are quite loud and preoccupied with, well, life? A lot of chatting going on and only really engage you when absolutely necessary.

Average control over customers during covid 19, great sandwiches, I really enjoy the cheesy pepperoni on Italian bread, with lots of chilli's and pickles

Worst subway I’ve ever had food was cold and drinks was warm will not be ordering again anytime soon that’s for sure. If you are looking for hot food avoid like the plague

Great our Clacton Subway great meals great staff and they deliver the furthest away all around Clacton to Frinton maybe even to Walton well if not into Walton on the Naze close to it. Recommended this branch everyday!!! Thanks to this Franchise I get this delivered all the time and being wheelchair user who is ill alot I am forever greatful to them here for their support and delivery service.

Usually this Subway is great but shocking today. Ordered for delivery - took over an hour to get here, had the wrong bread & sauce and to top it off, freezing cold. Disappointed 👎🏻

I come to Subway few times a week, I have never been ignored, the staff always try to serve me asap and always offer a cookie or a drink. They also make sure that there are not too many people in the restaurant at the same time. In the past few weeks, staff have always worn face masks and washed hands very often.

Seems staff don't approach customers not wearing masks or ignoring distancing etc

Me and my friend went into subway and they were very rude to us and made us feel very uncomfortable we do not want to go in there again as it upset me and my friend.. my sandwich tasted moldy I couldn’t even finish it... The two girls one of them had brown hair and glasses and the other one had like pinkish blond hair... they were very disrespectful🙄

Been here lots of times but today was awful.. it's supposed to be made your way!? I asked for nachos and the server put just cheese the asked if I wanted salsa... of course! Then I asked for s little southwest sauce she said NO although I had before. I asked for cheese on top of salsa as the cheese she put in first had dried to the nachos!! She said yes for 30p extra.!! Fuming service is abrupt and clearly not done your way! Terrible

Food is lovely, service is awful, 50% of the time I walk out and go to Mcdonalds instead, you can wait 20 mins or more to get served even though its never busy, staff take an order and then go off to make it and wait about while it cooks, it never occurs to them to take the next order whilst waiting!!

The place is very good and prices are quite reasonable! Sandwiches exceeded my expectation. I’ve been there 2 times during my stay in UK and each time was greeted by friendly staff and aroma of baking bread. Maybe the food seems to taste better coz of that facts :)

Rude staff who literally do not care about you. Food is nice. Hubby bought a Subway and I got a McDonald's chips for my baby and they told us my 2 year old has to eat it outside.... In the rain .. in the freezing cold weather .... And that I am banned from coming back because I said no, it's raining outside. Edit: thank you.

Always enjoy a subway, clean and quick service. Consistent with the standard of majority of the other subways around the country.

They do gluten free bread and its reasonably priced. Service was amazing. Very professional. The lady changed her gloves to do my food and put it on a separate tray. Really pleased with my visit :)

We're a fan of Subway and so quite often pop in here for one of the deals when in town. Love the range on offer and the new meals now done (as of July '19). It's on one of the main streets, so handy if you are walking around the town.

Due to rudeness by the two female staff members, the family in front of us walked out leaving their order (unpaid) on the counter, the servers did not seem surprised or bothered. The staff member who served us was rude and moody which rubbed off on the server who took our money whose attitude seemed to get us out the shop as quickly as possible. The only reason we went ahead with our order was because we were really hungry, surprisingly the food was OK. Will never use this place again!

£3 after 3pm for a 12" sub, what's not to like after taking the kids to the cinema!

Serving tongs were dropped on the floor, after last customer was served, the tongs were then picked up and placed with the rest of the serving tings without being washed

Absolutely disgusted with the service and food this day was told not aloud salad in my sandwich as this one doesn't come with salad to me shouldn't matter if it comes with it or not make if ur own the advert says but not aloud when it comes to it and well the sandwich itself was lovely but the preparation was god awful pictures below and they were foot longs absolutely disgusted

Clean and friendly staff, just really small people squeeze past as you are eating. A table of 4 is more like a table for 2.

Great food but disappointed there are no toilet or hand washing facilities for customers. A hand sanitizer should be available at the very least.
