Been going here for several years now. Top quality fish and chips at reasonable price. Friendly hardworking staff always polite. I highly recommend.

They knew it was undercooked when they served it because I did as soon as I unwrapped it. Hot soggy flavourless mess and we were so disappointed after waiting in the queue Try Pauls on the seafront it is way nicer and worth the extra journey time instead. Less haste better cooking skills

I was viewing properties that way and I came across this. Lovely cod roe and chips. seemed very family and regulars in there .

Just come back from Mauritius, was craving haddock and chips. Walk in 3.55 just come out of the fryer, was served within 5 minutes the best haddock I have ever had!! Thanks guy you are simply the best! I recommend this place as the best takeout in Clacton.

Phoned in advance for their fabulous value whole spit roast chicken ( and chips) They had it ready when I arrived £10.50 amazing Fabulous clean Fabulous fast service Very happy Was recommended to us by Tony, Murphy owner He said "thank me later"

Sadly disappointing chips. Stopped off for chips as just fancied some. Waited a while so was pleased to think they'd be freshly cooked. Unfortunately got home to find they were hot, but undercooked, some were practically raw, really disappointed, dog didn't mind them though.

After being really disappointed with the most well known chip shops in and near Clacton we thought we'd give Andy's a try. Wow! What we have missed! Cooked to order, for a "mini" it was a very good size piece of fish - other chippies have been more like large fish fingers. The batter was crispy, chips were well cooked and also crispy, not a soggy mass as we've had from others, and a decent size portion too. The staff were great. A busy chippy that deserves all the custom it gets, can't rate it highly enough. We will be back!

It was our 1st time getting our dinner from Andy's tonight and I must say the fish was fresh and the scampi was very tasty along with the chips, a very good portion on all. Also the staff was friendly and polite and very talkative. We will definitely be ordering again, must say best fish n chips in Clacton

The front of staff are always friendly and their service is great..the food is all pretty good and at decent prices. Andy though never seems to be happy and it's never a good idea to snap at your staff either infront of customers or at all..he seems to forget it's the staff that power the ship and not the Captain.

Best fish and chip shop for miles

Never again I understand that shops are finding it hard but at this place the prices are high and the portion of large cod is really a small kids portion and mostly batter

I had scampi and chips and my wife had battered sausage and chips. Now I suffer from IBS and sometimes battered products don't agree with me, but the batter on the scampi didn't upset my stomach. That deserves 5 stars.

Undercooked chips absolutely drenched in vinegar, wasn't even asked if I wanted it. Rather gutted. Sausage was alright.

Best fish and chips we've had in years. Not greasy at all (cooked in groundnut oil - may be this helps?). Freshly cooked in front of us. Very reasonable price too. Would definitely recommend.

Great rock n chips served at Andy's Plaice. The batter was perfect and the smaller portion of fish was perfect for me. A hidden gem. Will go again next time I'm in Clacton.

Soggy chips, too much vinegar and can't be bothered to take bones out of the fish or bothered to tell you making me nearly choke on a bone

Not very generous with the chip portions? Especially in the children's menu, hardly any chips inside box for the children?

Very nice food and cooked to order excellent value for money

I asked for a large cod and chips. The cod was tiny and full of bones. I wouldn’t even call this a regular size perhaps a kids portion. The chips were undercooked and greasy. Very disappointing.

Have been meaning to visit here for a while, eventually did on Saturday. Great freshly cooked food 10/10 not forgetting the A+ service. Very clean. All reasonably priced. Will defiantly be going back.

Have been a few times now, never disappointed, fis h is always fresh cooked so expect to wait while it cooks, it is worth the wait.

Abit of a wait but food freshly cooked and clean looking food and establishment.Parking can be a pain if busy in nearby shops but usually ok. I believe groundnut oil is used so not greasy food.

Mushy cod like it was a cheap frozen piece cooked. Curry sauce weak and watery and only half a pot. Won't use again or recommend.
