Subway in Medway

Very poorly presented, it seemed that the food had been beaten, a terrible job, I would not repeat

I came in to get food before playing a show at the nags head nearby with my friends and came in to get a meal deal that I and my other friends had gotten earlier in the day at another subway for 3.99 they said they didn't do it even though their was poster on the building advertising it as well as advertising it on the menu and then said they could do the meal deal but it would cost 4.99 and then when I got to the point where I expected to get a cookie and a cup to get a drink but I only got my sandwich of bread and just ham because I' didn't know what I was allowed in my saver sub I asked what I could have in my saver sub but he barely helped me out as he went back to saying they didn't do the meal deal even though they agreed and charged me an extra pound. I decided to not cause a scene but my friends then kept asking why they weren't allowed a meal deal even though they had gotten one at a different subway the same day, eventually the worker gave my friends the meal deal but did not attempt to give me my cookie and drink cup as he started talking to his manager clearly about me as they kept glancing back at me whilst deciding how to do my friends order making it so I left with a plain sandwich whilst my friends ended up with not only a sandwich but a cookie and drink for the exact same price as my one sandwich I will not be coming and not recommending it. If you don't do a meal deal like other subways don't advertise it in and out of your store and try and tell me there is a deal and then backtrack to squeeze more money out of me.

Had awful service from just eat, missing food, had to walk to the driver at the end of the road, drinks where warm all round terrible but when going to the store after just eats mess up the service was 10/10 re made all the food and was very apologetic the gentleman working on the 6th Sep at 10:00pm thank you for making a hard day better

They gave us the wrong cookies, the waffle fries where stuck together, the food was cold and they didn’t give us the sauces.

Just ordered through uber eats. They didn't put any cheese in the cheesesteak... How do you even mess that up?

Fallen off over the past year, give you less meat for more money whilst already being the most expensive subway I’ve ever been into. The employees are always rude and don’t hide the fact they really don’t want to be there. Just walk the other way down the highstreet and go lennys if you want your moneys worth.

I had the Tex-Mex sub with salad and jalapeños. It was really good and I'm going back for another ASAP.

Terrible service through Uber eats. I don’t know how a sandwich can be dry and soggy at the same time but they managed it. Paid 2.00 for a nacho bowl which they supplemented with a bag of Doritos, paid another 2.99 on a brownie frappe that didn’t come in the order, and also there was a missing cookie.

We received great service from the manager. The bread was really fresh.

Ordered for delivery via uber and was charged 2.99 for cookies that never came when I rang the shop first I got hung up second time the manager was rude and sais not his problem and to collect from the shop,if I could go to the shop I wouldn't have a delivery, don't recommend at all

The guy serving me was on the phone speaking to someone the whole time, didn't cut the bread properly either and had to tell him twice what I wanted in the sandwich.

Guy on the counter Constantly talking on the phone on speaker and very loud speaking Indian , poor customer service, We sat inside because it was raining and he didn’t stop talking the entire time we were there

I HAD CHICKEN IN MY TOMATO MOZZARELLA PESTO SANDWICH. I’m vegetarian so I’m very careful when I’m ordering and this tomato mozzarella pesto WAS MARKED “V”. But it arrived with chicken in it.

Where to start. Oh dear they just dont care. I swear I can do a better job sometimes. The bread also seems to be old because im sure it shouldn't be that crumbly and hard.

Dry food, all tables and floor was filthy and all the salad was dry and stale

At 15.20 on 29 September, the man working there did not know why he was wearing the gloves. While the sandwich was cooking, he was scrubbing the floor and then picking the vegetables with the same gloves! Disgusting and no hygiene!

They are stingy with ingredients. The worst ever that I eat. Spend your money some one else, not here.

Have been 2 times in the space of a week, both times the woman tried to confuse me by asking for change so that she could then short change me. Both times I have seen her put my own money back in the till and I have had to ask for my own money back, both times she denied this then eventually gave me my money back because she was clearly trying to pull the wool over my eyes. Last week she tried to keep £10 from a £20 note and today tried to keep £6 from a £10 note, she asked for change when I gave her a note she then watched me count coins because she asked for change, I didn’t want to do this but did anyway out of politeness and thought she asked so she could give me back a £5 note, this is also what she implied and was why she was holding a £5 note. I know I didn’t not miss hear how much my food was or the reason for me counting change. I watched her awkwardly and slyly put my £5 back in The till thinking she had distracted me enough that I wouldn’t notice what she had done. They’re also very slow and the tables and floor are often dirty when you go to sit in there. I wouldn’t normally make reviews but the fact this has happened to me when purchasing things for my elderly grandfather has enraged me, I’d be so upset if this happened to him whilst he was on his own. I definitely would avoid going here at all costs they are untrustworthy and lazy.

Always disappointed when I come here. Staff are unfriendly, unhappy and usually get the order wrong. Will go to the one in Chatham in future

Ordered takeaway and sub had a very long hair wrapped up inside and outside. They also do not answer the phone. Oh and it took 2 hours so was quite cold when it came.

I've called over 15 times and I constantly get hung up on, orderd food from there I was in Strood and it took over an hour and half to arrive, disgusting customer service

Since when has Subway started charging for extra veggies and neglect to tell me until they're done making the sandwich? I'm sure corporate is gonna love hearing this

The man who served me was very nice , my sandwich was nice I got tiger bread and tuna with salad and a vegan cookie and a cup drink , good place to stop off and eat and not pricey, it's a small shop but it is in a good part of the highstreet were most people should be able to get too. Only bad thing I would say is it could have done with a tidy up as someone had chucked their rubbish on the floor instead of in the bin. Over all it's good 👍

Google map is wrong. There is no Subway on High Street opposite Boots pharmacy in Strood.

This is one of the worst Subways I have been to. The staff spent 5 minutes on speaker phone to his boss before serving me. The order was a 6" sausage egg and cheese and I got half an omelette in it, the tea bags were stale, and I was charged £4:48. When I contested the price he said "do you want it or not?" Most meal & a drink deals are £3:39 in this area. Never again!

Dont order from just eat here they dont read the descriptions of the sandwiches and wont answer the phone.this was meant to have sauce and salad but this is what i recieved

They have a selection of vegan fillings and salads. It was nice.

Lovely staff and the foot long chicken was great ~ but It was very hot and I noticed the girls sweating a lot. They politely commented the owner refused to ‘fix’ this. Shame on him. Your staff working so hard in this place yet you won’t get them a big fan. Customers won’t be impressed.

The staff here are lovely! Friendly, funny, helpful and very knowledgeable. Sandwiches were well prepared and delicious. I got a 12 inch meatball marinara and a 12 inch Subway melt, both with extra cheese. Really well prepared. Slightly expensive for bread, meat & salad, however I would definitely visit again due to the EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Good clean environment unlike some dirty subways I’ve been to not bad quick service and no queue

Ordered two meals annd a drink. The drink was missing. I tried calling g them back and phone said the were unavailable.

Amazing store with great food (as expected from a subway) and fun &engaging staff. This location does have a few small 2 seater tables - so there is not much space to sit-in; but they weren't too busy whe we attended and we were able to get seats without any issues - but I can see how most customers will have to take out most of the time. Overall, highly recommended due to the competent, kind, and caring staff who made the experiance worth while.

I like the food shop Subway in Rochester because as a shop, it blends in with the other shops, it looks old-fashioned. It serves good old-fashioned bread rolls all day long.

Visited the Rochester one service was slow, was low on salad. Staff not listening to what was ordered. Dingy in side building.

Girls were so friendly. We could see that they were quite busy, but they were very cheerful and the work loads was not putting them down. Well done girls

Given up on this place now. Order from the Chatham one instead. Its actually impressive how badly they make the subs here. Pretty sure Edward Scissorhands is Chief Sandwich Maker. Either that or the Deliveroo driver straps them to the bottom of his running shoes and jogs over here everytime to deliver. The order is always wrong and they turn up looking and tasting like something that's narrowly survived a WW2 German bombing campaign.

Go there most mornings after my nights for my dinner/breakfast and the dude even knows my order off by heart now !! Great guy, great service !

everytime i order from here something is missing this time 2 kids meals so now i have 2 hungry screaming kids last time it was my wifes whole meal combo now we wont be ordering from here ever again.

A job interview was going on right in the way 3 people were behind the counter I was the only customer I waited till I got bored then said thank you quite loudly and walked out . This is the second time I have received sub standard service .....customer lost for ever ...you muskets

Wheat bread is constantly stale - clearly not baked on the same day. Very disappointing.

Probably the worst customer service ive yet to experience. Sign says open for takeaway, yet when I entered the store I was told in the rudest of manner that I could only order online to be delivered, due to being so busy. This was not possible for us being far from home. I asked to order online and collect as I'm not near my home and I was told to "go somewhere else to get food". I understand that at this time things are difficult however manners cost nothing. Your staff need some serious training in how to talk to customers. I would not recommend this restaurant nor would I ever return. 1 star is being generous.

Food is fine, menu is not fully on display, have no clue what foodstuffs are in some of the tubs. Staff were pleasantly helpful though perhaps not that interested in sandwiches. Probably overpriced.

Walked in, and was completely ignored by the man behind the counter. It was clear that he was doing a “just eat” order. After waiting there literally for 7 minutes watching him make 3 sandwiches, I left in disgust. Never experienced such awful customer service, especially in a place that’s known for good quick service. Also, the inside looks dark, dirty and very unwelcoming. Usually subway is quick, healthy and efficient. But avoid this one altogether. You cannot treat customers like that.

Food is always good but it just takes way too long so I stopped going in person and started ordering online but even that takes for ever. It takes 20-30 minutes just to confirm my order its ridiculous. I live like 10 minutes down the road so the just eat app puts delivery time at around half an hour. I still end up waiting up to 2 hours for a sandwich that's just down the road. The staff are friendly and the food is great just expect to be waiting around quite some time for your food, both online and in person.

Food was good but very slow service, girl apologised but only 1 person serving customers who walked in. Others doing just eat and deliveroo. Several people got fed up and walked out.

I mean... Just don't. Not very clean in there and plenty of flies buzzing around near the food but we were hungry and foolish so we pressed on. Asked for the new substack with hash browns in the sandwich and we're given cold, raw hash browns. Obviously seating isn't open rn so we had to go back to rectify it once we realised. They remade our subs but still didn't heat the hash browns separately, instead opting to heat the entire sub for twice the usual time. So we had over-toasted crispy sandwiches, still with room temperature hash browns in the middle. As delicious as it sounds.

Well done to the staff for trying really hard to keep up with the high demand in a hot shop with no air conditioning (for covid reasons). Subs are always fresh and tasty too 😀

Ordered two salad bowl via Deliveroo. Sald bowl half empty with ingredients missing.

Awful. 20 minute wait for food. Deliveroo orders taking priority. Worst visit ever.

Staff are friendly, wheelchair accessible, nice selection including gluten free bread and vegan options. Menu easily found with allergy information.

Turned up at lunchtime (2:30) my colleague and I were behind a couple waiting for their salad choice. I ended up leaving with my "prepared" meal 20 mins later. My sandwich was prepared by a new member of staff, or at least I hope they were. They ignored my colleagues request for more sauce and the whole experience was more complicated than ordering a sandwich should ever be. In their defense the toaster was broken and having to explain to everyone must be frustrating. By far the worst subway I have been to in a very long time

Called in for early morning coffee no hassle as expected served immediately

After the Rochester xmas market we went here about 5pm, bread was stale and staff seemed annoyed that we were interrupting their conversation. After preparing a meat sub I asked the server to change her gloves as I'm vegetarian, she was not happy and basically threw the sub at us at the end before turning to her colleague and continued her conversation. Not a good experience

My Granddaughter and I decided to have a treat on a walk through Rochester. I had steak and cheese, she had meatballs. We thoroughly enjoyed it while sitting in the park. Delicious.

As far as subways go this is a decent location. The staff were helpful when inquiring about allergens and were able to quickly provide an allergy guide. The bread was fresh and toppings were plentiful. Staff seem happy to be there, only downside to this location was the seating, theres not enough for a family to sit together, only a few tables for couples. Overall good experience.

Just like every other Subway, but fast service and friendly staff, will call in again. Much better choice than the poncy visitors cafes nearby.

Love the breakfast BUT don't waste your time after 10.30 am because they won't serve you after 11 am.

Nice Subway chain. Good size inside to deal with queues (busy at dinner/meal times) and a few seats. Staff are nice, friendly and approachable. Food is good value and ingredients are fresh and replaced at a good rate. One of the more convenient eating places along the highstreet.

Dispute the constant change of staff always a pleasure to visit

Food OK, and as expected, but foolishly I forgot that I disliked this branch and returned to be greeted by the most unenthusiastic staff. Not sure if some Subways have a policy of employing the most miserable staff who can barely be bothered to breath, let alone engage with customers. If this is this branches policy, they're doing well on hitting their grumpy staff objectives. For goodness sake, if you're front of house and therefore customer facing, remember what service is about. Depressing atmosphere and so unnecessary.

Exchanged the roll for salad, was filling enough but presentation left a lot to be desired. Lettuce was brown round the edges and tomato and cucumber left in lumps instead of separating the slices but, was still eatable. May be I should just learn to be less picky 🙊

Subway are well renowned for making great rolls and other stuff. As Subways go this is a good one

Second visit to this branch since, sadly the Tea Rooms at Rochester Cathedral are currently closed and I can longer eat there. Both times at Subway I was pleased with the quality of the food- very tasty, the service and value. It was quiet when I called in - just prior to large groups of visiting students - so I was served very quickly and decided to eat in. The tables and floor all kept clean but I was not that impressed with the huge cobweb and dirt around the air conditioning unit by the entrance. On the whole though, a good place for a quick, reasonably priced snack.

Advertised food they are not currently selling, so much for enjoying some loaded nachos.......... Went and got a bacon roll next door instead.

It's subway what else can u say best there is

Today I was served the nicest subway I've ever tasted. The young man who made this masterpiece is a true sandwich artist, I was left speachless at what felt like the Mona Lisa of Italian Bread infront me that had been carefully caressed by God himself. Thank you Mark.

When I stopped by here on a night out, there were two employees who knew what they were doing, and an actual bouncer. My life essence was replenished and I was satisfied with the service.

I was really disappointed with the service I experienced and witnessed here today. It was quite clear that the guy at the start of counter was on his first day as he hadn't a clue to what was what, which is understandable but there was only one other person with him who appeared to have only a tiny bit more experience. There wasn't anyone showing the first guy what to put in the subs so he was having to ask customers which was holding up the already large queue of people. I have to say I felt very sorry for him and I had to say which bread he was meant to be getting for the customer in front of me. When I came to being served I was told to go in front of someone else because it was quite a slow service. Won't be using this branch again, sorry.
