Incredibly slow. We were about to walk off. When we did get to the front they were out of chicken and most bread. The bread we got was stale. Staff were more interested in their own lunch. This place needs attention from management.

Ordered BBQ chicken and bacon but salad suppose to have pepper which they do not have and have to chose of what was left in the cool bar. Paid for 6 inch baguette bread £6.12 which personally I think is very overpriced for the amount of stuff they put in it. Sorry ,but we will not eat there again.

Service very slow, I waited 15 minutes just to be served and the que only had two people in front of me, appeared like there were 3 staff but only 1 staff member had been doing anything. Flies all over the food and the food looked like it had been sat there for days.

Stood queuing for over 30mins as the staff did not move very fast. Food was below average, ordered 2 foot long sandwiches and both were only half filled, bit disappointed as they ain’t the cheapest fast food! The only bonus was the young man at the cash register, he actually spoke and was very pleasant! Will not be returning to this one sadly, very poor!

Card machine not working, which I understand is beyond their control. Fly buzzing round the vegetable station, landing on the veg area, even landed on my food as she was preparing it, she just proceeded to knock it off my food, apologised to the server but not happy to accept this food under these circumstances, and pay expensive prices when fly been landing on my food. Also an offer on the app, server stated we are not set up for that offer yet. Will not be going there again.

When I got there I was in a queue with another family, there was a sign saying to wait 10 mins, this family had been there for 10 already and I waited another 15. When the sever finally showed up they didn't apologise for the wait and said the toaster was broken, there should have been a sign as I do not like my sub cold but I had waited so I continued. When the server moved on to the salard I waited patiently to be asked what I wanted yet I was met with a rude hi. Throughout the interaction the server had an awful attitude and acted if they do not care, I get it was the end of the day but I expected to be spoken to nicely and have a good experience, this should have been expected more as I waited for 15-20 minutes to be acknowledged. I was very appulded by this behaviour.

The place is a joke. Short staff granted that causes issues however that shouldn’t mean poor quality. The sandwich wasn’t cut correctly and I was charged for a 6inch when it was the size of a kids sandwich.The sandwich was thrown together slopped all over and not wrapped correctly. Appalling

The food was OK minus the amount of toppings that was in the wrapper instead of the bread. I was slightly concerned regards the lack of hats worn by staff, 3 out of 3 of them did not have a hat on whilst serving. I ordered through the app as card machine was down but never seen sandwiches made so slow.

First and last time experience with a Subway baguette! My Husband decided to have a breakfast type baguette and I had a chicken baguette. We didn’t go for a foot long as I was committed to ordering then looked at the price. Settled down to enjoy our lunch, I was sat opposite my husband and he took a bite and was enjoying it then I noticed a dark hair about 2 cms and immediately took it back to the counter (I wish I had taken a photo but was shocked to find the hair, spoke with the guy who I later found out was the manager who offered a replacement which we excepted . Whilst waiting for it to be prepared by him (no facial hair) I noticed the original guy who prepared our sandwiches had a dark beard. I enquired why he wasn’t wearing a beard snood and was informed that it was not subways policy and they only had to wear a cap! I emailed subway directly as I could not believe that this was the case, received standard reply stating they were sorry we had not enjoyed our subway experience, too right if I had not sat opposite and seen the hair it would not have been Discovered urge

Came to subway today to try the Chicken salad box,it was really Good and prepared very well and in a timely manner. Finn was really friendly and made the whole experience 10 x better! Safe to say I will be returning again 10/10 from me! Thanks Finn!

Waited in a queue for over half an hour. Finally got to front and realised the issue. Staff looked like they'd never made a sandwich in their life. Took them 10 minutes to make 3 sandwiches. Every time we asked for something the server forgot what it was. Nearly got all wrong meals. Worst bit was sauce. The mayo was running out and they put the smallest amount on my sub. They said "is that ok?" And after asking for a bit more 3 times I finally gave up and had a dry sandwich. They were too lazy to go and get a new bottle from the back.

Took over an hour queuing to be served. Staff Very slow!!! Once I placed my order I was told that I could only have normal cheese on my sub because on the bread I chose. "Create your own" but not aloud to. Lettuce looked brown & all other options looked empty. Definitely won't be returning.

Very pleased with service I am Gluten Free and I was amazed at the precautions that they did on preparation of my sandwich also used clean gloves so no contamination problems. William was very helpful explaining the various deals on offer. One star is being generous. Unhygienic place that I wouldn't choose to eat at but my daughter insisted on having a Cheese & Ham Meal Deal. Unfortunately they had no cheese, no drinks and no cookies. So she ended up with some bread and two triangles of melted cheese. Never again.

Took absolutely ages to get the food there were at least 6 staff on . The 2 girls one with long black hair and the other one were more bothered about talking than serving. Clearing not paying attention as they forgot what I said a few times. Shouldn't be working there if they can't be bothered to work. Very poor service. I'd paid and kept and they were still serving the people behind me they hadn't even got to salad bar bit. Apololing. Maybe new staff is required.

Mo you are one of the rudest people I have ever met! Didn’t speak to me the whole time just stared at me, automatically put cheese on despite me saying I didn’t want it and then when I said I didn’t want cheese (I’m allergic) he threw it off my subway and back in with all the used cheeses, I usually love subway but this has definitely put me off returning again.

Absolute worst Subway I've been to. I wouldn't normally review a Subway but I feel like I need to do a public duty & leave such a scathing review just so it pushes their management to make changes. Waited over 40 minutes in a queue approx 12 people long. Got to the front and immediately got the feeling that all 5 staff were first day trainees - none seemed to listen, know what was going on and not motivated to help each other out. Oh. My. Days it will take me a long time to get over how c**p this place was. Had miles better service and sandwiches from other Subways staffed by only one poor soul. Jesus Christ!

My daughter worked two two-hour 'trial shifts' at this Subway branch. The manager, Rebekah Duckworth, is refusing to pay her for either shift. I suspect there are dozens of teenagers who Subway get to do so-called 'trial shifts' and then don't pay them. There is a word for having people work for free. Slavery. Subway should be boycotted for their dodgy and exploitative working practices.

I don’t write many reviews however felt compelled with this one. Had a gluten free sandwich and the staff were excellent. I’m not coeliac but they all changed gloves and made sure they all knew while the bread was prepared and toasted. It was very tasty too. Thank you. 😀

If I could comment with no stars then I would I Waited 25 minutes in a queue to be greeted by miserable service extremely small portions I ordered double cheese this was served with four finger tips twice. Very slow service. The assistant on the till pushed the inside of the bin down and proceeded to serve me with a latte . No cutlery for our salads and was told to go next door and take them for there or go across to McDonald’s disgusting unorganised is We received the wrong ones sandwich then waited again another 10 minutes. Sort your staff out they look dirty and are miserable and don’t enjoy working for subway we will not be returning Dirty,slow, unorganised and a waste of money

Very quick and efficient, also very friendly even though it’s really busy. My girlfriend ordered a veggie delight and the member of staff preparing the sub asked if she wanted him to change gloves as he had been touching meat. Never had that asked in any subway before.

Often come here with my family as it's right on my door step. But I do wonder why I bother. Often we have to wait 20 plus minutes for food with it usually wrong or something missing. Never have milkshakes/ice cream either!! Today the food was fine and came relatively quick for a change. On leaving though i was appalled on how disgusting it was outside! Every litter bin was full to bursting and over flowing with litter. There were milkshakes splattered all on the outside tables and on floor with more litter just left. What a filthy dump. Wish I'd of taken some photos. One of the worst macdonalds in the area along with the one in York city centre.

I was shocked to see this place had such bad reviews! We popped in while they where closing (my bad, didn't look at the times) and we where about to leave when the woman cleaning the counter said it was ok, took my order and made it with great care from scratch, even apologised for not giving me the usual sealed lid (machine had been turned off) all around great experience I'll definitely come by again the next time I'm visiting York.

Ordered my food, it was running late so I called them to ask where it is, they said it's on the way so I go and wait outside. 10 minutes after it should've arrived I call the restaurant and ask where it is and they immediately reply "Your food has been stolen by the Uber driver." (I ordered on Just Eat) I asked them when they felt like notifying me my food was stolen and their reply was for me to go and complain on the delivery app I used. (ignoring my question) Absolutely zero attempt to rectify the situation, or even notify me my food was "stolen" which I find highly unlikely as it was already late before it even left their restaurant.

Oh dear really poor. The food was terrible. Spent £25 and the quality was awful. Ordered cheese and tomato garlic bread, no garlic and hardly any cheese or tomato. The chicken kebabs were processed chicken and small cubes. Salad was off. Food was cold. This place must of changed hands. wont use again.
