I have not had a burger king meal for a while and visited it a few days ago and was sadly disappointed.The staff were _ 1star ,the burger was Luke warm ,the place was dirty with chips on the floor and tables not wiped .It wasn't a experience that goes with the adverts that we see and It would be a long time before I would visit again

The place was filthy and is under staffed. We came here a month before to find the screens to order food didn’t work and they still don’t work leaving you to order at the counter, maybe some out of order signs on the screens would be of some use. The general tidiness of the place was not up to standard with food on the floor and left over meals still on some of the tables and no members of staffing wiping the tables down leaving you to choose the cleanest table to sit at. Not a nice place to eat in.

Poor all round. After a frustrating time trying to order through the app (no fault of this restaurant), we placed our order and waited. Whilst waiting e discussed that we had come here rather than the well known rival as the burgers are better quality. Well they made folks of us. Dry and tasteless over cooked burgers were given to us instead of the big beef melts we ordered. It has been a long day and we were starving so no way was I faffing about waiting for another.

Ordered chilli halloumi burger and received chicken and bacon burger. Staff all of which were young kids thought it funny when I returned it. Cleanliness is none existent from the tables and I thought it disgusting that 1 girl in the kitchen with long hair was standing around just chewing gum rather openly.

We went for a family tea before cinema. We saw someone at the till who served us. The lad was very nice and sold us Fanta ice drinks to go with our meals. Food came quickly and was hot and tasty. Will definitely return/ recommend.

I was thinking I might be able to add some balance to these overly negative reviews, but this BK isn't very good at all. I ordered a Steakhouse Angus meal on the app. A few minutes after arriving I was told they couldn't do an Angus, but could make me a Steakhouse Crispy Chicken instead. I was using reward points to pay, so wasn't too disappointed. The burger I received left a lot to be desired, though - the brioche bun had been replaced by a normal white seeded bun, there were no crispy onions, and there was barely any sauce. Supply issues for the burger are one thing, but trying to palm off substitute ingredients on me without warning isn't really acceptable. Oh, and they don't have any Coca Cola Freestyle machines. I'll be sticking with Clifton Moor for my local BK fix in future.

We ordered at the screen, two meals,mine included hot chocolate, waited a long time ,when order was shouted, the lady just said, No hot drinks ,so offered fizzy drink instead, I asked why and all she said was No milk!!, The burger was slightly warm ,I then went back and asked if hot chocolate was now available and was offered tea with sachets of milk ,not sure what's going on here but we will not return, also the toilet was filthy Avoid!!!

I went there today and ordered just a Flat white coffee at self checkout, there was no more customers at a time, just my order. I have been waiting about 5 min while all the Staff were very busy talking in the kitchen, than customer came in and ordered exactly same coffee at the till and he had his coffee before me, told them it's disrespectful, asked for refund and left. I could understand it if it was completely different order, but no difference. I will never go back there again.

Food took nearly 30 minutes, only 2 people infront of us.service was poor to say the least. Assistant was sweeping the floor whilst 2 staff in kitchen just stood talking to each other.the automated order machine didn't work ,had to wait 10 minutes to be served.when food was passed over we were told they were closing in 10 minutes. Half the order was missing.

Staff were very rude and slow. One of the staff members wasn’t wearing uniform. The staff member was unwilling to serve me, maybe due to my race. The staff stand around doing nothing. Waited over 45 minutes for a simple order. Other customers were also aggravated. There was an overflowing bin and all the tables were dirty. The burger bun was stale. don’t come here!!

Arrived at 8pm Saturday evening I was told that they were closing. When I said it says 9pm on line. I was told yes hut i can't get home if we stay open until 9pm. The family in front of me said they had been told take away only and the family sat eating were told to leave because they were closing. Very poor customer service

(Please Note: This is against Management and Upper Management, not the Crew) I have been to this Burger King a few times, and whenever I did go my food has always usually been delicious. This review isn't a complain about the quality of their food. However, on the I pre-ordered my food about 7pm and arrived 5 minutes past. It was relatively busy, some people before me were still waiting on their food, some waiting at the till. There was only 2 members of staff working in the kitchen for all of us. I knew in my gut I wouldn't get my order for nearly an hour, but decided to wait. I noticed some customers who ordered after me were able to get their orders first. I noticed on had two orders which seemed like 2 burgers and fries with drinks total while mine was a Whopper only lettuce and ketchup meal. I sat down and waited until about 7:40pm, I had to get a bus before it got too late. I did try and mention to not worry about my order but the two staff were very busy. They are not to blame but its Burger King Management are to blame, there should be at least 3-4 staff working to get these orders out and not slaving 2 staff members who have a lot on their shoulders. The Management is terrible and the two staff members don't deserve to be put in this type of work environment. I'm shocked they allow this to happen to their stores and staff. There is no indication of a long wait time or estimate for the orders, whoever is the Regional Operations Manager needs to take a good look at what's under the surface instead of what's above it. Sadly, while the food is delicious when its served, if you're visiting during the evening before they close. Please order at least 15-30 minutes before on the app. I don't think I'll be coming back unless there's a better change not just for the customers but for the staff that work there.

Took near 20 minutes for a regular cheese burger meal to be prepared the place was dead, my observation was that 1 working the others bossing about and seemed to be intimidating/bullying. A male member of staff was in his phone the whole time. Avoid plenty of other places to grab food.

Well, what a letdown, I heard a new Burger King had opened, so for the first time in a while, I decided to give them a go... which never happened as the place wasn't even open! even though both the BK website and Google said they should be. There was a sign about being short on staff, but only saying wait was long, not that they wouldn't be open! Poor, very poor BK, I will try again sometime, and if it's even open, I will change this to a proper review.

The dining area both inside and out were very messy, dirty tables and an overflowing bin, I dread to think how dirty it might be behind the counter. Service was extremely slow I waited 15 minutes just for 1 double cheeseburger. Staff all look miserable and fed up, maybe a new manager could try inspiring the employees to try improve things. The only saving grace is the burger tasted good.

I'm disabled and walk with a crutch. Firstly, I found the door very heavy to open. Secndly, they left out food from my order and as I forgot to check that they did their job properly, I didn't know until I got home, so they owe me £3.50. Thirdly, I spent 10 minutes trying to call them but they didn't pick up. The burger was also dry and over cooked. Will never go there again! These fast food restaurants are just scam artists! I'm sure they're trained to leave stuff out of take out orders on purpose! Because how difficult is it to read an order and put the food on that order into a bag? Seriously! A chimp could do it!

Burger was nice with crispy lettuce. Dull and boring decor, The guy who served me was a bit of a 'Dodo' with a docile attitude.. I just wanted to get out of there when I had finished my meal. Then on another day, I saw people eating outside and next to the bin that was in a disgusting state with what looked like the previous day's rubbish spilling out of it. Don't think I'll be using this place again.

Staff are rude and slow, all in full view of customers yet still work with no urgency when busy. Waited patiently for 30minutes then asked a member of staff how much longer the food was likely to be only to be rudely told ‘I think everyone in here has waited over half an hour’ this didn’t answer the simple question I asked so I cancelled my order and left. No need for the bad attitude just because it’s a little bit busy. No sign of any management of staff and it hasn’t improved since it opened a few months ago. Long wait not helped by multiple customers returning their food to be remade because the orders were incorrect.

As previous reviews have stated the staff are rude and incompetent, clearly had no customer service training and behave like they're still in school. The place is absolutely disgusting, not a single clean table but the staff are too busy flirting to care about cleaning even when the place is empty. Absolutely no care put into anything and not at all bothered about customers watching them pissing about whilst waiting for their food!!

There's nothing fast about the food here. I went in at 3.15pm today (Sat) and it took half an hour to get just a burger on its own, and it wasn't even that busy. There were 3 staff on - a girl who was really working hard. One lad with specs occasionally cooking but mostly checking his phone, and an Asian lad doing nothing who seemed to be admiring himself in any surface with a relection.

I gave 3 stars for atmosphere purely because the dining area wasn't very clean. It was quiet when I took my daughter and the food was cooked pretty quickly. Food was hot and was enjoyable; very pricey though if you're opting for chicken nuggets as there isn't an option to make it a meal so you've to buy the components for it separately which ultimately makes it much more expensive. That said, we will go back as we go to Monks Cross often now.

My sister and I went in and used my app on my phone, they charged us a £1 extra so we asked why, the servers shoulders went up and said the till tells us the price and nothing I can do about it. The chicken royals were cold so I took it back, no apology was made to me. They replaced it but this was not much better. Could not get a coffee as the machine was being cleaned and there was NO manager to sort it out. The tables were filthy, the floor was filthy, and the tray station was disgusting. The kitchen staff 2 fellows and a girl were just stood around talking Our rating 0/10

Smelt fusty like an old pantry. Door and every machine was covered in fingerprints. Floor dirty. Went in at 11:30am, it' was empty so should not be that dirty. Machines should be cleaned regularly. Didn't have anything we wanted available. Didn't eat so can't comment on the food quality. Staff just stood talking so the excuse we are short staffed can not be used!

Came in and ordered pretty normal stuff, the staff was quite rude with another customer which didn’t go unnoticed. Got our Order called which was two drinks (sprite) which took nearly 5 minutes to make. We got our drinks and the staff member just threw the straws at us which we thought was strange and just plain weird. Staff need properly training in customer service and not to be so rude and inconsiderate, basic manners need to be taught, bit embarrassing considering it’s an easy thing to get right.

New store which opened in 2023. Its clean and tidy, it has self service machines and plenty of places to sit inside and out. Only downside is it doesn't have one of the self service drinks machines with loads of choice of drinks so it's just your standard drink options.

Absolutely shocking service. Touch screens took an age to work and when we received our order to take out, by the time we got back to the car they had forgotten all the fries. My husband went back and had to wait 15 minutes for some fries. The first lad said he would get some and walked off. 5 minutes later still no fries so had to ask someone else for them and it took two of them to make the fries. Seems they didn’t give us them in the first place because they forgot to cook them. Will not be returning. What a joke. Not one person looked over the age of 19 and couldn’t see a manager at all.

Ordered at lunch only 2 other tables in there all the staff stood chatting, when we finally get our food we were missing our drinks, ordered loaded fries and it was about 10 soggy pale fry’s in a box with a bright orange drizzle of cheesy sludge, burger was grey and barely warm I’ve seen more life in a casket.

I would like to say that when we’d first gone two weeks ago the food was absolutely amazing everything was still steaming and far from dry. Today we went for a second time expecting the same as the first but first time we were handed the wrong food so we sent it back and was apologised to and supposedly given the right food but instead my sister was given the opposite of a cheese melt, and I was given a very dry double cheese burger that was cold and had some freezing bacon slapped on top of it which I asked for no bacon. We decided not to go back again expecting that the same would happen and they’d just remove the bacon and give us it back. They were telling us they didn’t have bottled water or other bottled drinks but we’re giving them out to the just eats orders fair enough but they had not only to us but the pair behind us, poured bottled drinks into cups instead of using the machine like they usually would. This experience has really changed our minds on the place and I doubt most of us will be going again.

After visiting today and spending £25.02 can definitely say we will not be returning! As a start we ordered two chicken bacon and cheese royals large meals and extra fries and drink for our little one, the food that we did receive after waiting 12minutes was cold as anything and all the wile as we was waiting saw that the drinks was been poured from bottles and not a carbonated machine as usual and that from in-between customers there was no hand washing or sanitation or protected gloves worn so unfortunately as we didn't have a good or even average experience we shall not be returning!

Incredibly slow. We were about to walk off. When we did get to the front they were out of chicken and most bread. The bread we got was stale. Staff were more interested in their own lunch. This place needs attention from management.

I was shocked to see this place had such bad reviews! We popped in while they where closing (my bad, didn't look at the times) and we where about to leave when the woman cleaning the counter said it was ok, took my order and made it with great care from scratch, even apologised for not giving me the usual sealed lid (machine had been turned off) all around great experience I'll definitely come by again the next time I'm visiting York.

Often come here with my family as it's right on my door step. But I do wonder why I bother. Often we have to wait 20 plus minutes for food with it usually wrong or something missing. Never have milkshakes/ice cream either!! Today the food was fine and came relatively quick for a change. On leaving though i was appalled on how disgusting it was outside! Every litter bin was full to bursting and over flowing with litter. There were milkshakes splattered all on the outside tables and on floor with more litter just left. What a filthy dump. Wish I'd of taken some photos. One of the worst macdonalds in the area along with the one in York city centre.

Decent service but terrible food. Didnt think mushroom pizza and lasagna could be done wrong but they used raw tomato purre on both and forgot the white sauce and pasta in the lasagna! Breakfast was ok but not special dinner not with it go to Toto’s Italian round the corner

Ordered my food, it was running late so I called them to ask where it is, they said it's on the way so I go and wait outside. 10 minutes after it should've arrived I call the restaurant and ask where it is and they immediately reply "Your food has been stolen by the Uber driver." (I ordered on Just Eat) I asked them when they felt like notifying me my food was stolen and their reply was for me to go and complain on the delivery app I used. (ignoring my question) Absolutely zero attempt to rectify the situation, or even notify me my food was "stolen" which I find highly unlikely as it was already late before it even left their restaurant.
