Subway in Newport

Great place for Gluten Free, Katie has moved here from another store and as usual her stores are superb, well done, the team were polite, food was fresh and service was ace, a credit to you.

Visited recently, super friendly staff and of course the sandwich was beautiful and fresh

Absolutely disgusted with the way we were treated. The place was busy, and staff were just chatting on like there wasn’t anything else to do which is simply. unacceptable. We asked to have a footlong as it is currently 50% off! *Asked for the bbq chicken and bacon sub melt*. Well when the sandwich was made in front of us, there was no chicken in it. We asked them “do you put in the chicken after as we asked you for the bbq chicken and bacon submelt”. The response was “you never asked me for that sandwich”. Despite a few people in the line saying “yes they did we’ve been listening” etc. In the end we just gave up leaving after the worker huffed and puffed at us! These workers clearly don’t care, don’t listen and are that rude to mutter under their breath. Don’t go to this store. Malpas road and Caerleon road stores are much better. Really unhappy with the experience and service I was given!

Subway Spytty is my go to! The store is ALWAYS spotless, fully stocked, and clean. Staff are very friendly and attentive, ensuring your experience is impeccable along with providing useful knowledge. Service is quick, with easy to access signs posted with useful information. I recommend Subway Spytty all the way. Never let down here. A big congrats to all staff! 💚💛

Third time ordering via Just Eat and the third time the order had something missing!!! Previously also had tuna instead of turkey! Terrible service, they need to retrain their staff

I just been here, staff is really rude and look like doesn't want to serve, nobody was there and than she told me hang on in the rude way, no respect at all.

Asked the lady behind the counter what she would recommend and she said the garlic cheese steak was one of the nicest on the current menu. Have to say it’s absolutely banging! Service was fast and for the first time in a Subway we didn’t feel rushed to make our choices! Definitely be back with our boys ❤️

Visited this store around lunch time today and even though it was a little busy, the young girl called Laura was always smiling at us so I was happy to wait. Food was excellent as always and lovely range of fresh salad. Customer service was exceptional and the lovely Laura confirmed my order and said thank you and to take care and this made my day. Looking forward to returning for my footlong very soon.well done team subway

Me and my husband visited this store today (30/04/2023 at 9:30am), like we have done on many occassions, and can’t believe the rude service we received. Upon arrival we stood and waited a good 3 minutes while the woman who was serving was in the back talking to someone, when she did finally come to serve us we realised it was not a member of staff, from what we heard of the conversation, it seemed like they were either in a relationship or very close friends. The server asked us our order as normal and all was going well. The issue started when my husband was choosing what salad he wanted on his sandwich. There were no onions in the pot that was there so my husband asked if there were any to come out, the server at first responded with “No”, to which my husband replied “ok, no problem”. The server then said “to be honest we have got onions. They were delivered this morning (30/04/2023) and it doesn’t matter if you were the nicest guy, i’m not going out the back and cutting up 1 onion just for you” and laughed like it was funny!! At the time we thought it was weird, deffo not funny but we dismissed it and carried on with the order. I then presented her with a voucher for my husbands food as I had collected points from past purchases and she then tells me “this voucher may not work as our systems sometimes don’t accept them as we are changing over to the new points system so you may have to just pay” I told her my voucher was valid and I didn’t have any other means to pay to which she replied “well it may not work” in a disrespectful tone. We stood and waited for a few seconds to see if my voucher would be accepted and thankfully it went through ok. The server let me know it went through ok so I said “brill, thank you” to which she just turned her back and walked away. Was no “thank you” or have a good day” from her, she seemed very rude and made us feel uncomfortable and awkward. I wish I had looked at her name on her badge to state who she was so I could also wrote that in my review. All I can tell you is that she has a bristol accent and is probably early to mid 40’s with terrible Customer service skills!! In the past we have visited the Maesglas store and the staff in there are so much nicer and more professional, they make the sandwiches perfect and their customer service skills are brilliant. The Tesco store Subway staff could do with the same training as they have had as we have had issues with other staff there in the past when it comes to customer service!!

Cold food delivery AND missing items!

Wife ordered meal for family from here through Just Eat. Lukewarm food arrived which was thrown together and no idea what they did with my wife's meal, it's probably still sat in the store! Order from the one on Caerleon Road if you want a decent Subway

The young girl behind the counter was rude, lied about the amount of filling you get, then over toasted the bread. It took her 4 attempts to cut a 6" piece of bread! Both her and the guy she was serving with were more interested in chatting to each other. She was also very rude to the woman in front of us who just asked her not to mangle her bread! I've been eating in Subway since before she was born and can honestly say this was the worst experience I have ever had!! Walked out and refused food, Will never go there again

The worst experience I’ve ever had at subway, service was terrible, meatballs Luke warm, staff didn’t explain the new menu, so would told had to pay extra for any salad items. Can’t see me using subway again!

very rude employee i think her name was MeGaN, she had gone off purple hair and rudely approached and said “if i was sat with anyone” when i replied nicely that i was waiting for my friend who was in the que 🫣 then asked again assuming she thought i lied.

Usually this is my go-to Sub store, as it's in the centre where me and my partner do my weekly shopping, but this visit made us not to go there ever again. The "manager" (as he called himself) that was serving me, was arrogant, dismissive and lied to my face. I asked for Breakfast sub Egg and Cheese (at 8.45am), he charged me for Veggie delite + add egg. That's £3 more than it should be and than continued lying that it is supposed to be charged like that, everywhere else it's charged wrong and the board was not updated yet. I think it might've been discriminative as I'm not originally from UK and he heard me speaking in my native language.

Always love a subway because I fan never decide what to have without looking through the entire menu. The food really is that good

I have ordered multiple times from this branch and every time there’s either… something missing or they have given you a cheaper alternative to what you actually paid for without a refund of the difference in price. Which is literal robbery. The Branch NEVER calls the customer to ask if they’re okay with the alternative/ see if they are allergic to it before sending it out. Which has happened Every-time I’ve ordered from here. They never Toast your sub when you ask for it and it always comes cold… I live a literal 10 minute walk from them. This is absolutely shocking service and now I realise why they had been shut down for a couple months last year. Would be better for your business to close this branch altogether and keep caerleon road branch open as I have never had any problem from that branch. My suggestion: Re-train your staff and a change of management as whoever is in charge obviously doesn’t care about their regular customers.

Wrong size sandwich paid for footlong 6inch turned up plus it was on the wrong bread and now can't contact branch at spytty newport to complain

3 times I have ordred through just eat and every time there has been an error with my order how hard is it to follow instructions and make a sandwich if a sub is ordered with no sauce why are your incompintant staff adding sauce or if I ask for it toasted it comes untoasted shocking really once I can deal with but 3 times in a row just shows how lacking the staff are in basic reading skills and require retraining on how to follow instructions

Visit June 2021. Located inside the Tesco Extra building. It seems COVID policies have shut the "outside" facing doors to this building, so if you've parked in the retail park as opposed to the "Tesco" car park you'll need to walk all the way around. Service was great, good quality - no issues with the food or bread, etc.

My food turned up I had ordered 3x orange juices they gave me a child’s Robinson squash no care at all

Nothing to review, no one knows why it's shut. Can't get a sub now unless you go to town. Tesco Spytty staff won't comment but Greggs upstairs is having a roaring trade.

Very fast and efficient service. Staff are very friendly. The site is absolutely spotless and very well stocked. The choice is huge and always takes my an age to decide what I want (I do this before standing in the queue!) The wait was minimal and the food as always from Subway was delicious. Love this place! Could maybe find some places lightly cheaper, but never as tasty as a Subway.

Came here after doing the monthly shop at tesco, the only down side was the had run out of hearty Italian bread which is what me and my partner normally get so instead he had plain sub and I tried the flat bread my reviews on the flatbread sub... AMAZING!!! I loved this so much more than the hearty Italian I have now found my new favourite. The staff were very polite especially when I asked if they still did cheese toasties as my partner loves these they said no they no longer do them but they can quickly do one and put it through the till at 0.50 so I snapped that opportunity up and said yes to that. This was very generous of subway and I will definitely be returning as I love their food service and overall everything.

This Subway is better than most Subway stores in Newport, the food is always fresh unlike others whichcan be hit and miss on occasions. The store is always clean and tidy and the staff are friendly and helpful. There arent many tables so getting a seat can be difficult at busy times There is plenty of undercover parking in the Tesco car park.
