Subway in York

Very long wait for food. Staff didn't seem interested. When order was eventually placed, it was clear that online orders took priority. Went for 4 x saver sub meals. The cheese and ham ones looked like they'd been sat on! Cookies were very hard. Drinks tasted like carbonated water and nothing else. Toilet was disgusting!

Food was delicious and staff (PJ and Lee) were very helpful and patient.

Missing Sauce for the Churro. Nachos had no salsa or cheese, pretty much just a handful of burnt chips. Waffle fries completely missing from the order, salad barely filled a quarter of the box and consisted of 3 peices of cucumber and a pinch of shredded chicken. Footling was inedible due to the amount of BBQ sauce...what where you thinking? Normally really good from here. massive disappointment.

Terrible, don’t bother the manager’s attitude stinks. Couldn’t care less. Charged us for bacon which they charged didn’t have. Told him no bacon in sub he said I’ll give you a refund and you can jog on !! Asked for his name and he said bob. Told him we would be giving a review and he said he couldn’t care less!!

It was good, however the sides that I got were cold and I couldn’t eat them, but the sandwich was hot and good

I dont expect to have to pay a service charge as well as delivery fee when the time frame is between 20 mins and 30mins!

Just a one off ordered here loads but none of what I ordered came and I spent £25. The stuff that came was worth less than £20 was pretty gutted was looking forward to my food

Super friendly service by people who do not do the job against their will, unlike many other Subways. A really nice experience!

Sandwich was good as always but the churro tasted horrible - best way to describe it is a mixture of shampoo, perfume and chemicals; not nice at all.

Got 3 different footlongs. Order was correct, timing was good (delivered on pushbike), sandwiches were decent. No problems here.

Wrong items AGAIN on the order and items missing! I asked in the notes for a wrap and they have given me bread instead. (I'm allergic to this bread) There is no option on Just eat to choose a wrap!? And the phone line is broken. FIX THIS ALL PLEASE!

The bag was not sealed and the cookie, that comes as part of the meal deal, was missing. I have also just discovered there were no crisps either.

Ordered a foot long sub, man who served me was polite. Clean and not too busy. Toilet was small however no issue with the hygiene.

Today 15/07/24 myself and my partner visited this store and were served by a very polite and chatty young man called Jake. He gave the best customer service experience I have had in years. He genuinely loves his job and is amazing at it. Thank you Jake

My food didn’t come with what I asked!

Staff are so loverly very polite and patient the food is 10 out off 10. The manager Jamie is so friendly and trained his staff well Adam, Jordan, lee, and the new guy not sure on his name. Thank you so much for your service and patience when you’re very busy.

visited. ordered on app as wasn’t sure if i could discount on my phone. was asked by one member of staff if it was me who had ordered, i said yes and told him my name. another member of staff then bit my head off and was quite rude saying i would have to wait. didn’t even ask for them to hurry up was just answering a simple question. he was also rude to my boyfriend asking him why he didn’t just order with him rather than on his phone but once again we weren’t sure if you could use the discount in person. felt very embarrased and small. the man had dark hair not the one with lighter hair. hate to complain but i won’t be returning it was embarrassing and bad service

A lot lighter than the salad bowls usually are. The box was less than half full which just feels weird as it’s literally salad for £9

What was delivered was not what I ordered

Came here on 22nd March 2024 at midday. All three of the guys behind the counter were very friendly and talkative, and very patient with us when we were deciding what to order.

I ordered a footlong and got a six inch I'm very disappointed.

Lovely food, shocking collection time

Best service I've had in a Subway store ever! Whoever the gentlemen were on shift today 26/02/24 were charming and thorough in their service- certainly made the atmosphere much nicer than is usually expected. To put it simply: they were jovial and kind and did their best to be accurate and consistent in their work!

The literal worst subway I’ve ever been in. Absolutely dead 1 customer in front of me, but still 15 mins before I’m served because they insist on doing every single online order before serving anyone in the shop. It’s absolutely mental, I couldn’t believe how much disregard is given to customers in the shop. Astounding.

If you shut at 6.35 don't say that you close at 7. That way people won't waste their time walking over to find that you're shut.

Ordered a vegan sub and got a meatball one. Pretty outrageous really

Normally really good quality, would rate higher but they put some jalapeños on my sandwich this time when i didn't order them and it made the whole sandwich taste bad :(

When my partner opened her wrap and all of her fillings where wrong and didn't have anything she wanted wasn't in there and paid almost £7 to be disappointed

Food was ok, we placed a large order, no idea which sandwiches were which as they weren’t labelled, couple of items were incorrect

The food is tasty and heated up quickly in front of you while you wait. The store is not the nicest shape inside, sort of wedged in between other stores and it shows. But the staff are polite and the food tastes good, which is what matters.

I went into subway on stonebow and it's not wheelchair friendly or pram friendly and one of the workers was rude to me and told me to take my son in his pram around where there's steps. It's raining and the floor is slippery and I nearly fell on my butt which is dangerous for everyone and especially pregnant women like me. I won't be stepping foot in that place again

Delivery was so late that the food had been sat around for over an hour so was soggy. Definitely not eat fresh

My order is incorrect. My delivery driver did not come to my door.

My order was placed at 12.26pm and it didn’t arrive until 5.16pm. This was due to a lack of drivers and not the restaurant. Just eat are not replying to my attempts to contact them about this and have taken my money despite my food being stone cold and not even wanted anymore by 5.16pm.

Waited over 3 hours for a driver for then the Order to be updated to delivered but no food ever arrived

There were parts of my order missing - I ordered 2 of the 3x Chocolate Chunk Cookies (6 cookies in total) and I only got 1 (3 in total).

Ordered at quarter to 3, food arrived an hour later, once it was picked up it was quick though. so I assume it was waiting for a driver to take the delivery. However my drink was wrong :/

Not the first time this has happened the staff completely ignoring me even though I'm next in queue to serve a person they know and then giving them their order for free all I'm asking is a bit of professionalism and even then serving me with the ok what do you want attitude I'll go somewhere else in future

Although busy the staff were efficient and friendly and we were able to get a window seat overlooking the famous Shambles ! We all enjoyed our 12” ers (!) which set us up for the remainder of our day sightseeing ! We’ll return when next in York 👍🏼

It's one of the best subways I've been in ngl. The person who served me was so nice and we had little laugh as we were being served very nice person. Only bad thing is it's very tight area to be in.

Contrary to other reviews our experience was a really good one, new management maybe ? After a busy morning trying to avoid crowds in York City centre we called in for lunch myself and the service user I was supporting. A number of years ago I had stroke which when I am overwhelmed by a situation makes my speech stammer. The front of house waited until I could formulate what it was I was trying to ask for, even though they had just finished serving a a really long queue, and there was another forming behind us. The person with me requested cheese melts with a slice of bread. the bread agreed upon by the person being supported and the guy on main sandwich prep was a 1/ 2 plain baguette, which didn't get charged for.... in general it was a really pleasant experience. Thank you to guy who is teaching himself Hebrew and the rest of team Subway.

I ordered a delivery because my kitchen was having work done. In the time between the predicted delivery time and the actual arrival, the workmen finished their work and I made a pizza from scratch. A mediocre sandwich arrived as I was sitting down to eat.

Don't know what these new subs are about, but I ordered a Tuna Kahuna and OMG it was not in the last bit appetising. 6" of greasy soggy sub. Put it straight in bin. Draught machine wasnt working either but they still charged extra for the bottles for my meal deal Ordered 2 other subs too which were made the usual way and were as I expected. Stay clear of these new menu items

hi got food all came opened bag bottle of pop of top of sandwiches so not happy as way a tone and got wedges hot but all soggy as steam got to theme and as for the sandwiches theme self was eating theme and very stall vegan patty as eating was very hard on edges and veg in side patty was very crunchy so and i asked for sauce to come as well but don’t get it and for toasted bread it was not toasted at all i definitely won’t be ordering form her again

Food was late arriving, due to it taking a long time getting a courier. When the food arrived it was stone cold. Pizza slice could be warmed up, but the wedges were binned.

We were sent 6 inch subs instead of the footlongs we ordered. Restaurant refused to send the missing halves and told us we could have a refund but we'd need to go through Just Eat. So once we'd eaten the part of the order that was delivered, we contacted Just Eat for that refund, which was refused because they wanted evidence. Very disappointing

I recently visited this subway branch, and I am horrified by the level of service I experienced. As I waited in line, I saw the sandwich maker was sniffling. As I watched him, I observed his snot fall into the sandwich he was preparing. I made the decision to depart as a result. When I was about to go, another man, who I think to be the manager, yelled across the unkempt restaurant, "Don't you want serving then?" I politely declined. Then he shouts angrily, "Alright, bye then." then goes on to disparage me in front of the other workers who are eating their lunch. It is an utter chaos inside. I won't be coming back, so I hope the manager spends some time teaching the team about ppe and health and safety. It's humiliating that the team is shouting at each other across the restaurant as customers eat and select the toppings for their sandwiches. I'd strongly advise having a health inspection conducted there because it's disgusting.

Both my sandwiches were not toasted and didn't have cheese on. The delivery was 30 mins late and was just left on my doorstep. Totally disgusting service won't be using subway again felt like I've wasted my money

Honestly I love subway ever since I ate here. Personally I recommend a toasted ham and cheese on Italian bread.

I payed £3 for cookies that didn’t even turn up.

Only thing is I got 2 of the same when I ordered 2 different ones . I ordered 1 wrap and 1 sub but got 2 wraps

Paid for cheese , no cheese in sandwiches, both sandwiches cold when delivered, took a hour to make two sandwiches, wrong bread and salad in one of subs . Shocking. Always something wrong everytime with this place .

The sandwich was cold (previously toasted but cold) wasn’t handled with any sort of care.

The man I suppose is the manager was nice as was his colleague who was stocking but the lady operating the till was rude and disagreeable. The place was dirty, poorly stocked and staff didn't wear any PPE. I bought the components of the student meal deal and asked if it could be put through as a student meal deal. She scoffed and said, "it's just a meal deal, love." This lady had the arrogance to be rude in her ignorance! I was charged more than £10 for the whole deal, which compromised a 1ft long sandwich only with chicken, a biscuit and a drink. At all other subways I have ever visited, you are charged £6 max for the student meal deal. Whilst I ate my lunch, the manager was ranting about how another colleague was making ppl pay £10 for a plain BLT, "as it's the plainest sandwich there is." The lady then had the gall to agree with him after overcharging me!!!

Young lad working here tonight is amazing. Order was late due to no fault of there’s!!! No driver for 40 mins. He rang me and explained. Such a lovely lad. Food was amazing and warm. Kids are happy and full. Thank you again.

The wrap was fine but you had put in tomato,Which I did not ask for.
