Subway in Birmingham

The speed of a snail with no sense of urgency serving customers, despite there being a growing queue. Food was disappointing and not worth the wait, and actually felt ill after eating. No hairnets in sight, and the server thought macadamia nuts were just white chocolate chips, which is concerning for those with a nut allergy if they too thought it was white chocolate.

Totally disgusted with the attitude of the young girl serving me yesterday I asked for a foot long veg Pattie, and as she cut the foot long in 2 I asked if she wouldn’t mind wrapping them separately as a diabetic I cannot eat foot long in one, to which she became irate said” no we have to charge you separately otherwise, I said since? to which she replied I don’t know it’s subway policy, to which I became annoyed and left, this is ridiculous subway you charge enough as it for veg baguette. How difficult is it to wrap the 6” separately, I won't be going there again.

I can take poor customer service but what I wont accept is your staff not giving me what i pay for, I ordered a footlong sub and was given half a serving of meat, the server was very sneaky and put 2 half portions of meat on my sub, she achieved this by placing her finger in the spoon so when she scooped the meat it looked full but was only half filled, having worked in the industry running fast food stores I know when I'm being scammed. that's not to mention the 2 tomatoes 4 jalapenos on a footlong, by far the worse sub I have ever ordered as it was empty.

Very sad servings. I always get a salad from subway and I have to say for the price of over £10 for a salad and a drink the portion size was appalling at this branch and overpriced. I could count the sweetcorn pieces on one hand and all other items was as if she was grabbing air out of the boxes. Go elsewhere guys, other branches are better or get a gourmet salad for the same price elsewhere.

The toilet light turns off after a few minutes, but the sensor is outside the room so you're just kind of pooping in the dark

Usually take so long. Only have 1 person on staff and waiting 15mins for service. Not fast food. Also they don't wear hair nets

I've noticed that since the Asian community have bought out some subways stores they're no longer want to honor your subways points. So no point going to this store if you are a bit low on cash and want to pay for your meal with your points. Plus very rude condescending attitude. Don't speak English in front of their customers so god knows what they're saying about you.

The scanning device conveniently not working for over 3months now so you can not claim any of your reward points on the app. Very sneaky by the owners.

If I could rate this 0 stars I would. Ordered a Footlong sub with all the salad and meatballs which came to £14. On arrival, I opened it to find a squashed, burnt sub with 1 piece of lettuce, 2 pieces of sweetcorn, 2 olives, 2 cucumbers, a piece of pepper, no crispy onions, and the crappiest sprinkle of cheese you’ve ever seen. The meatballs were stone cold. The delivery was prompt and only took 30 mins from ordering to unwrapping so they couldn’t have gone cold in that time. I just can’t believe people can serve this and expect their customers to be happy. I called up the shop as I couldn’t get a refund through UberEats (very difficult process) and a lady answered, listened to my problem then hung up on me. I called back several times, no answer. Eventually leaving it a while and calling back, someone answers. I speak to another lady who says that they always do it properly so next time ask for extra salad! My problem wasn’t the extra salad, it was just having salad in the first place! They then tried to blame UberEats saying it was their fault. I said “but you make the food?” and they replied “yes, but we do it properly so don’t know what’s happened”. They then tried to blame them for the temperature of meatballs saying they must have gone cold during delivery. I’m just amazed that food industries as big as Subway can get away with charging £10 for a sandwich and supplying something that’s inedible. I’m appalled at the service and the ignorance towards customers. Working in the industry myself, I wouldn’t dare serve food I wouldn’t want to eat myself and surely wouldn’t speak to customers the way I was spoken to. Avoid at all costs.

Good food. It could have been a bit warmer. Good service. Tables not very clean. Same with the toilets.

Saturday 8th July night, half of the options were not available- everything was limited and waiter was in a rush- I was there with my little sister who has an allergy to olives -waiter still added olives- when I politely pointed -it out waiter picked out 3 out of 10 olives in Sandwhich which was still clearly visible- I told him he missed to pick some out and he shrugged his shoulders saying it’s not much- then I thought he’s probably in a rush I’ll do it later when I get home because he is closing so I asked are you closing? he said no- he has two hours to close- he closes at 2am and it’s 12 midnight. And once he asked for the sauces I told him my preference and he done the same on both quickly - I told him that’s his going too fast and he insisted that’s his normal speed-but there was no one else in the shop waiting -you could check cctv- my sister on likes chill on hers he said you two are together so I thought you’ll both like the same thing also when he was cutting the breads he didn’t even close it -he cut it whilst they were wide open causing many of the filling to fall-out also creating a mess in his own workplace- at this point I gave up because clearly this guy isn’t good at understanding or communicating properly with customers and did not care- this was really frustrating for us but we held back and paid because he already went through the hassle. also as much as I know my presence might not mean much but I’ll Definitely not be going back there sadly.

Very rude staff always chatting and having a laugh in their language in-front of customers. In the last 2 years; Everytime I go to this subway they tell me the sub card machine is broken when they’re clearly using that as an excuse not to redeem the sub point in their store. Probably the most expensive subway I’ve ever been to, even more expensive than the ones you find in service stations. The only good thing about this branch are the opening hours but I would try my best to avoid this branch and make it your absolute last resort.

Went for lunch during a swimming gala. Very clean. One footlong meal deal and two 6 inch was £24. The spicy Italian footlong literally has 2 slices of salami and pepperoni. Wouldn't recommend at all.

The sandwich were great. However, does anyone clean in this place ?? The toilets had an awful smell of sewage and they were dirty ! That really put me off. The floor was dirty too and the air-conditioning was leaking but no one bothered to put a sign. Trip hazard ! Also it was really quiet so whilst one staff was serving , the other could have cleaned. A dirty toilet is usually not a good sign. Not sure I will go back.

Terrible!!!!! Service was sooo bad to say the least, both guys behind the counter are useless, no customer service skills whatsoever, Ordered a 6inch veggie delight, it’s was burnt and couldn’t eat it, on top of that they over charged me!! AVOID!!! This place guys…

Not the best experience, on foot long sandwich lady put 4 pieces of ham and said if I want more I need to pay extra same with rest of the toppings- this is right?? Both staff members not friendly at all sorry, can't recommend.

Standard subway, but the overall vibe of Broadway Plaza is amazing.

Great tasting breakfast sub of egg and cheese. Unfortunately I asked for the 9 grain 6" sub instead of my usual 6" sub of 9 grain multiseed but overall a highly recommend sub to have with a sauce of your choice I went for the Chipotle as I wanted something different preferably from ordinary sauce

Absolutely terrible service. Feel like instead of accepting my order and making it with care. They try to push product on me then get in a huff when I stick to my order and make a half arsed sandwich.

Stale cold food and shocking customer service

Worst subway store i have ever been too, the two staff who worked at 8pm are rude so rude and also there was no care given towards the food, disgraceful subway never coming back again.

Don’t try and redeem your subway app points here, they are very sly and pretend there isn’t an option. Disgraceful service. Stay well away.

Stood there for atleast 5-7 minutes waiting to be served one off the woman stafff was too busy taking pots and pans to the back rather than saying I’ll be a moment so in the end I left

Location is good Good customer service I bought cookies from Subway and it was delicious like always. Although it is not a halal branch. I would recommend vegetarian options. Also you can enjoy thier Tuna sandwiches with free salads and sauces. You can also choose from thier desserts 🍨 🥧 🍦 🍡 🍩 or cookies 🍪 Waiting time was under 10 mins which is not bad for a weekend order. Clean and tidy store. With many options next to it.

Ordered last Saturday for lunch. Plant patty Sandwich was just okay. It didn't look the same colour as the pictures though.. 🤔. Is the patty supposed to look dark...? Not to mention the Cookies tasted and felt like they had been left out for at least 2 days.. Rock hard, stale, flavourless.! . What happened to 'eat fresh?' Very very questionable food quality standard If this is the only other highly rated subway in Birmingham! That's saying something ..

Ordered a 6 inch meatball sub, only to go away and realise there was only 2 meatballs in there. Served by an Asian fella who was pretty rude to the customer before me too. Needs to find another job.

Not open at times stated but the door is open and when I asked if they were open the response was you can go now mean what I can go make my sub or go out the shop?

Food was great, server was good at this job and polite. I just seriously didn't realise how expensive this place was! £14+ for a sandwich, drink and packet of crisps! Bit steep for me. I'll be going elsewhere next time.

Quick and the Food is Amazing, plus you can choose what you want, just say, don't be too quiet, choose yourself and that's am awesome thing!!

Placed my food order and wanted to pay with my points, the staff member had difficulty in understanding this and kept asking to tap my phone to make payment

Went in with partner after a coiple of games of bowling. Amid served us, he was nice. I wound him up a little bit but bless him he stuck to the script. Highly recommended. Update 15 june 2022 we're back again. Same guy working. He's so good cannot do enough for us.. This guy deserves a medal for putting up with me.

***HAD FOOD POISONING AND WAS SICK FOR 2 DAYS IN BED AFTER EATING HERE!! DO NOT RECOMMEND*** Cross contamination of the food is present so I wouldn’t feel comfortable buying anything from here ever again after my experience especially if I was a vegetarian. I had to ask for the gloves to be changed before my order was started and in between while taking out the non-halal meat sub from the toaster oven the person serving (who didn’t have a very good customer service attitude) touch the meat sub and I had to ask for him to change his gloves again. No standard of practice. The sandwich wasn’t made very well and leaked all in the wrapping. It didn’t taste very good and the end result from the cross contamination between the way the meat and non meat ingredients are handled made me sick at the end of it. They didn’t label the sub like other stores and no apology for the over 10 min wait in the queue!! Rubbish.

Good food but was expensive for some reason

I must have hit them at just the wrong time because they didn't have any meatballs ready (would have had to wait for 10 mins which I couldn't do at that time). Had a different sub though and it was as tasty as usual.

The member of staff making my sub kind of wandered off and didn't come back so I was left waiting for quite some time while my sub sat on the counter getting cold.

The food here is what you have come to expect and the service was good but as I was leaving and luckily he didn't serve us. The guy with the Scottish accent was grooming his face over the food prep area and he looked generally untidy in appearance as well. We'll give this Subway a miss next we're in the area.

Very rude staff went in at 9/9/2019 time is rougly about 9:15pm and the staff she was wearing a scarf.. she gives me wrong cookies and lies saying its rainbows like come on i buy cookies from subway when it was not and very rude attitude stinks the way she came cross me.. Its a message to boss MEHDI FIX YA STAFF!!! Would not recommend this place nasty staff man!

Lack of basic human etiquette!! I was waiting for about 5-10 mins to place my order and a gang of ladies pop-in and the guy takes their order ignoring me completely! I have no issues with subway.. I love the food and I’ve been going there for ages now but people like this who do not have the basic common sense to respect others should not be employed!! This happened on 15.03.19 between 6.45-7.30 PM!! I mean please learn to respect people !!! Whoever was serving customers on the above mentioned time and date should grow up !! You aren’t fit to work... you need to go through your schooling including kindergarten once again!! Hopefully, the next time you would learn how to treat people.

One of the worse Subway franchises I have used. Both times that I have been they have been very stingy with the all the ingredients, especially the salads & sauce. There is many better options around the block, even Morrisons across the road.

Not sure what's changed with this place. Used to rate it but just ordered a foot long sub and the chicken that was put on it was stingy as hell. When I asked (as a customer don't forget) for them to top it up a little bit I was told I would be charged extra! Then when I requested a certain sauce, the amount put on was pathetic. At least they didn't try and charge me this time but it took me guiding the girl and saying "more please" 3 times to get the amount that other Subways serve as standard. Is it management who are the idiots lining their pockets? Or just stupid staff? Not sure but not happy

For a quick lunch full of fresh stuff, you just cant beat the subway, any city or town they are always there to keep you going at lunch time

We went here in advance of going to the cinema and got good standard subway selection and service. Good to pick up food outsisde of cinema complex.

Spacious takeaway with plenty of tables to sit down inside. The sandwiches are of high quality and overall a pleasant experience.

Good place for subway, probably one of my all time favourite subway place which operates longer hours so can get one easily and close to mine, the star attraction is the employee PAUL , very kind and excellent service, who always puts a smile on your face with his subway skills.

Bought meal deals x2. Steak was quite chewy, bread tasted stale, even after toasting. Not clean.....

It's a subway which while itself is pretty standard, the staff are really good and friendly.
