A lively atmosphere but a bit confusing Came as 7 friends. The Euros were on on the Tv there was live music and we were dining. The food was nice but again neither one thing or the other - small plates but bigger than tapas and at £9 for some cauliflower in a sauce very expensive even if sharing its £20 min for 2 small plates though very convivial. The “something else “ were larger and enough for a meal but again when part of our party were sharing and 2 didn’t the conviviality was split. Loud drunk men watching the football didn’t assist the atmosphere but the live music was good but again in a separate part. We were kindly offered a table in there but we’d have been unable to talk so we stayed with the noisy football fans instead 7 ate - 5 drank and bill Was £225 - if you break it down £40 per head for 2 plates each and 1/2 a bottle of wine

Love this place, the atmosphere, ambience, staff so friendly and attentive. The food was incredible, small plates lots of choice. Amazing cocktails. Can’t wait to go again.

Six of us went for Friday lunch and had a fabulous meal. We chose a variety of dishes and all of them were very tasty. The service was great too. I wish I lived closer as I'd come here more often

Booked a table and was put in bar area. Food is quite good. We had the vegetarian platter with Halloumi which had lots to eat and a lot of choice. However, it’s not really a restaurant experience - more of a bar with food. Someone in loud video call next to us, lots of people at the bar drinking. And dogs are allowed - I don’t like eating with dogs so won’t be going back. In summary good experience if you are looking for a bar with food but not a restaurant.

Christmas Eve we went to Suburban Green for some brunch with friends. Food was amazing and they were serving Mulled wine which was lovely and Christmassy We were well looked after by the staff and the guy that showed us to the table was hilarious.

My go to destination for food and drinks, the small plates are divine especially the sprouts dish really tasty and flavoursome. I always come here as the food is great and staff are fantastic. Keep it up!

It can get busy so good to book, although the staff always do their best to accommodate.

We have just been in and the atmosphere was amazing. There were very nice people in, dogs, families, it had a wonderful atmosphere. All the staff were amazing 🤩 we will definitely be back, we had a fab time

We were celebrating a 60th birthday and had the best time. The food was absolutely delicious, very fresh ingredients and unique and tasty recipes. We recommend the chicken thighs, halloumi, flat iron steak, and hand cut chips. The service was fabulous and couldn’t have been any better and accommodating. Thank you to Barry the manager and all the staff for a fantastic experience.

So, I’ve been here lots but feel that since Martin the owner left, the whole place changed. New staff are rude and miserable but old staff still shine through. I feel it’s lost it’s atmosphere. Food is always good.

I booked the restaurant in macc in error and arrived at wilmslow which was fully booked - we had taken the train in so the only option was ti find somewhere else to eat - however the manager could not do enough to accommodate us and so glad he did the food and atmosphere in addition to great service was top notch - I would 199% recommend suburban green - oh and the manager cancelled my macc booking!

Suburban green is the best. We took over the box area recently for a group booking (40/50 people) and we had such a brilliant eve. Great food and drink and the very best service. They can’t do enough for their customers. Thank you Sub Green!

Popped in here with the wife and two kids on a busy Saturday lunch without booking. Everything was perfect and we were well looked after - my wife particularly liked the fish chowder and she's a chef !. We look forward to popping back in the not so didtant future -keep up the good work :)

Popped in for a quick light lunch and ordered 2 small plates, the smoked salmon and watercress Arancini and the beef bourguignon with celeriac mash. What an absolute treat !! Both dishes were presented well and oozing with flavour. So much tender beef in the bourguignon as well yum yum 😋 Service good and really nice place inside

Few bars and restaurants these days seem to be created with love. Things are made. Places are built out of the overwhelming driver of profit and loss. This place transcends that!!!!! As you step into the door as you’re greeted by warm and efficient staff. It’s beautiful inside. It’s thoughtful. Cosy. It’s homely. The food… well somebody give the chefs a round of applause because it’s flawless nearly each and every time. Delicious. Just sublime! Masterpiece on the plate. You know this already… but I’ll be back at the Green sometime soon! A welcome addition to wilmslow when all others are missing the mark.

My daughter’s 21st birthday celebrations in the Suburban Green Cube couldn’t have gone better. Everyone had an amazing time. We arranged a drink on arrival for everyone and was able to bring our own decorated cupcakes / birthday cake. The room was decorated for us with balloons that we had dropped off earlier in the day. The venue for 40/50 people was perfect and we were able to stream our own music/playlist. There is also an outside area right next to the cube with heaters. The staff were lovely & very helpful. We certainly recommend hiring this venue for celebrations. Thanks to all at Suburban Green Wilmslow for helping my daughter have the best birthday ever! 😊

A small group of us went at midday on a Friday and had a fantastic lunch. We chose several different dishes (nearly all the meat and veg) and every single one was supremely tasty. We all particularly liked the bang bang cauliflower but the rest were great too. A colleague ordered the pear and chocolate mug cake but didn’t finish it so I did and it was very tasty. The service was great too.

Just been for lunch. Asked for a 1-shot latte, they sent out a luke-warm full strength one. I took it back and explained and it got replaced with a cold 1-shot latte. I ordered King prawns on foccacia. It came literally swimming in half a pound of butter and was not edible. The sweet potato fries were all fat. The buttermilk chicken batter was soggy. Had to go and get a take-away from Waitrose. Staff friendly enough. Service very slow.

Martin, Barry and the wilmslow team looked after us Sunday and before planning my 50th. It was a brilliant day, the food was great, room set up perfectly and the staff treated us like royalty from start to finish.

From mimosa breakfasts to evening champagne tapas this is by far the best bar in Wilmslow. Great staff who engage well with guests and create a fun vibrant atmosphere and great management and ownership behind everything to make it work as smoothly as it does.

Love everything about SG, setting, furninshings, staff and especially the food! The Bang Bang Cauliflower, Buttermilk Chicken, Garlic flatbread and baked goats cheese was absolutely amazing. The staff and management are friendly, professional and outstanding 👏 My fave Wilmslow eatery.

We don't get here as often as we would like, but the wife and I love this place. The service is relaxed friendly and professional. We love the small plates wand normally have 4 between us which allows us to try new options which we love. Look Forward to reopening and keep up the good work :)

Been twice in the last couple of weeks at lunch time.Overall satisfied with the food.In fact quite good.However.On both visits at lunchtime the young servers were both either dismissive or indeed quite rude.Being looked up and down and feeling judged is not a nice feeling and detracts from what is a nice setting.I do know that I was not the only person to feel this.Sad

Despite social distancing our visit felt like a relatively ‘normal’ meal out. It’s nice to actually find a place where the owner is involved and really seems to care. The staff seem like they want to be there, everything was super efficient, drinks order taken instantly and the food was superb, smaller dishes but great quality, a reasonable amount of food (which I prefer). So many places lack basic service but not here. Really enjoyed the experience.

This was the first local restaurant we visited as a family after lockdown was lifted & it was as fantastic as we remembered. The cod & beans are superb, the buttermilk chicken thighs delicious & the daal perfection. Thank you Martin & team creating such a gem of a place.

Just had the most delicious dinner courtesy of the new heat at home menu. Hubby had the steak and mushroom pie, reheated really well. Crispy pastry and gorgeous gravy. I had the enchiladas, so good with just the right kick to them. Followed by sticky toffee pudding and chocolate brownie. It might be the best brownie I have ever had!

Really enjoyed a ‘tapas’ meal with some beautiful food in a lovely environment with good service. Bonus was that our dogs were allowed in the bar area!

Celebrating our family 18 year birthdays. Booked as never disappointed with SG, but usually evening drinks and small plates. These are always great with good atmosphere. This lunch was a bit disappointing as they had had brunches in the morning and it did feel a bit tail end. I think our fault for booking for that time as it was empty by then, should have gone for the brunch! Otherwise love it there!

My 3rd visit and SB didn't disappoint! The bar is beautifully decorated and furnished,very cosy.The Buttermilk Chicken and Bang Bang Cauliflower are out of this world...my husband had the beef kofta and enjoyed every last bit of it! The service and attention was 1st class. Great vibe and music.2 parties on there tonight, a 40th and 50th but that didn't slow down the supply of food and drinks.Look forward to our next visit x

Our 2nd visit and once again the experience was outstanding. The level of service and quality of food takes some beating. It would be easy to order too much food because it all sounds good, but we got good advice on just how much to order. We managed to defer the food into two stages so we weren’t over faced all at once.Beef cheeks were melt in the mouth. Bang bang cauliflower was probably the best we’ve had. Chicken thighs moist not dry and tempura squid was cooked really well.All the while, the staff served us with a smile on their face and enjoyed a bit of a chat!Well worth a visit, we will be back again!

Following a day out at Quarry Bank Mill we visited Suburban Green for late afternoon food. Although only 4.30pm the atmosphere was great as was the service from Pete and Kate. The beautifully presented food did not disappoint and we would definitely recommend a visit.

First visit to Suburban Green. Went for a late brunch. Sadly the breakfast menu stopped at 12 however the sandwich selection was top notch (I went with the Reuben, friend went with the croque monsieur). Highly recommend both dishes. Service was excellent so I will be back, thank you!

Sunday brunch visit at 1pm with friends up from London....first time visit & will definitley go back. Food great, staff all lovely but not switched on at all. There were 5 on duty in total including a lady who was off duty sitting at the bar. Also a guy behind the bar, they spent all the time we were ther(2 hours) constantly congragating and chatting with each other. This resulted in being told 10 mins after we ordered that we could not order small plate dishes for another 30 mins. They did not come for revised order after 5 mins so i went to the bar & interuppted thier chat. Food came & was delicious, i had kedgeree & went to th ebar to ask for a portion of bread, this arrived after i had finished my meal...As i say will not put us off returning but the team really need to cut the chat with each other and watch tables & Guests. I gave a 1 rating to hopefully ensure the owners will read this, but with focus as it should be then it would have been a 5! and there would have been a good service tip..

Have eaten here several times with friends and always found the food fantastic. The place is usually very busy but the service is still timely and efficient. Worth a visit. I will go back.

We choose this restaurant as it was open when we wanted to eat. It was a great decision, the food was great and service friendly and attentive. We were also impressed with their welcome to service veterans ( free cup of tea/coffee) and support of music artists ( pay license fee). Recommended

First visit and glad we booked. One of the family lodged on the table next to ours, with one of their dogs lying on the cushioned seating, were just helping themselves to our menu! It was busy and they were just occupying the table pending the arrival of the people who'd reserved it. Fortunately one of the staff moved them on, I'm not sure I'd have stayed had they been there.Really friendly staff and well designed interior. I sat opposite a mosaic of Morrissey, available to purchase for £1200.Wine was good, as was the food although it should be mentioned that the vegetable Pakoras were NOT Pakoras, they were in fact quite oily Tempura covered vegetables. For example, a long stick of (probably) Purple Sprouting Broccoli covered in oily Tempura batter. Obviously the veg should be thinly or finely sliced. The selection of dips was a Tzatziki and a Hummous, we didn't feel that constituted a 'selection'.It did seem a bit cool for a while, maybe because were were near the outdoor seating or the air conditioning?Despite the minor issues, we really enjoyed our visit and would definitely recommend to others. The staff are a credit to the restaurant.

I have walked past this little place numerous times without visiting. I decided to pop in in the other day for lunch because it was sunny and they have an outside seating area. The food was beautiful and the service very friendly and attentive. Try the pickled beer battered salted vegetables with the the tarragon dip. It's gherkin, broccoli and cauliflower in a tempura batter with a creamy dip. Gorgeous. I also tried the flatbread with dips. The bread is like very thin pizza dough dribbled with butter served with yogurt mint dip and a chickpea dip.Delicious, freshly made and served by a friendly face. Priced very well too. DEFINITELY GOING BACK!

My fiancé brought me here for my birthday on Sunday night, and he couldn’t have picked a better place!Right from the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The decor is lovely, and we were seated on one of the round ‘sofas,’ which was really cosy. Loved the globe behind us - really cool touch!The food is INCREDIBLE. The rich flavours of each and every dish really stood out. We had the vegetarian sharer to start, and everything, even down the veg on the side, was bursting with flavour and was absolutely delicious!For our mains, we had the fish cakes and the coconut Dahl, with the chunkiest chunky chips I’ve ever seen! Once again, everything tasted amazing. You can really tell that all of the produce they use is fresh and carefully sourced!The overall price of the evening was also brilliant - £31 for a large starter, drinks, 2 mains and a side!The service was efficient and friendly throughout the night.I could not fault this place at all, and I hope this was the first of many visits for us!

Great food and nice wine. The small plates are great quality and that's reflected in the cost. We tried several plates and none disappointed.The place has modern decor and is comfortable. Service was good. It's well worth a visit. The one dislike is being charged £2 for a Soda water something often received for free or a very small charge, in good establishments one will often receive water along with the wine.However will visit again.

We booked a table last minute based upon the reviews on Trip Advisor and we certainly weren’t disappointed. The food was amazing, best tapas we have ever tasted. Martin our waiter (owner?) was so friendly and happy to take time to help us order the right amount and choice of dishes and wine.
