We took part in a Cocktail making masterclass as part of a Hen weekend in Bath. We all thoroughly enjoyed and the variety of cocktails we could make was fab. Lovely atmosphere, lots of laughs and a good time had by all.

Sub 13 was booked for my hen party - we were welcomed at the door and taken to a private room for our cocktail making glass. There was a fairly large group of us and John Paul (JP) he was brilliant, accommodated for everyone, joined in with our group and we had a really good laugh and time :) a big thank you to JP for an amazing evening

Booked a table for 6 for a birthday, paid £5 each to get in, we were initially sat on a small bench (enough for 4 people) then asked to move to a bigger bench, waited over 50 mins for someone to take our drink order, were told they would only do table service if we ordered a bottle, which we planned to, told multiple times someone would come over, no one did. Walked out and went to slug and lettuce next door and got a table with table service instantly and didn’t pay to get in. Waste of time and awful service.

This place used to be great. Now they charge you £5 per entry cash only on the door. What’s worse- Ridicule you if you don’t have it. Screams tax evasion. Change the door staff you’re not that great. Terrible

My general frustration with cocktail bars is threefold: they’re pretentious, they’re expensive, and they take an age to make a drink. Few things in life are more infuriating than popping into the pub for a quick beer, only to find the one barman on duty painstakingly assembling a Mojito, a Cosmopolitan, and a Sex on the Beach—hand-selecting each mint leaf while you slowly perish from dehydration. And when you do finally cave and order one yourself, you’re somehow paying £14.50 for a splash of Bacardi, a couple of leaves, and some soda—roughly the same as my entire weekly shop at Waitrose. And then there’s the atmosphere. The hushed piano music. The dim lighting. The eerie juxtaposition of someone sipping a Sex on the Beach in a room that looks like an exclusive gentleman’s club. Sub 13, thankfully, is none of this. It’s fun. There’s music, there’s energy, and the cocktails actually arrive before you’ve lost the will to live. The bar staff know what they’re doing—no theatrical shaking or artisanal ice selection, just fast, well-made drinks. And the price? Well, 2 cocktails for £13 is practically charity work in this economy. Bravo, Sub 13. This is how cocktails should be done.

I visited Sub13 for the first time as part of an event. We were in the 2 underground vaults which were too small for the amount of people attending the event (40ish people). It felt crowded, stuffy and the music from the club room which was right next to it was too loud so you couldn't even chat to the people at the event. I'm not sure it was the worth entry fee so I am unlikely to return.

Embarrassed to have dropped a drink but the bartender provided a replacement mojito despite it being entirely my fault. Brilliant service must go.

I visited Sub13 just before Christmas with some girlfriends for one of our 40’s. We had a really good night .. cocktails were immense, reasonably priced, service was fun and prompt and music was varied and kept us on our feet most of the night. I stupidly left my cardigan at the venue and I live in Reading so I was worried about getting it back but Beth ever so kindly posted it back to me and was so helpful (even though it was my blunder, not theirs). Thank you so much Sub13 for your hospitality for my friends 40th and we look forward to coming back to Bath soon for our next girlie gathering!

Sub 13 was the perfect venue and brilliant hosts. We had Beth serving about 45 of us and she was fantastic and really kind. Thank you so much Beth and Team 13 for having us!

Got thrown out for no reason by the bar staff. I touched some glass above my head while waiting to be served at the bar and was then threaten to leave. No damage done but forced out for nothing.

What could have been a simple conversation with the woman at the door was immediately thrown out the door, mainly by her incompetence and her attitude which was stinking. She resulted In talking down to us which was shocking and unprofessional and changed her story multiple times, knowing she was wrong. If you are considering going here I would have a rethink.

We were celebrating my partner’s birthday and we were shocked by how the staff spoke to everyone as soon as we got to the entrance. Specifically the door woman and her sister-in-law (the manager), whose behaviour was inappropriate and unacceptable. The cocktails were 80% ice, definitely not worth the time and money to come here.

We came for a gin masterclass for our friend Hayley’s hen do. We would like to say how good the cocktail lady Beth was and how she made sure we had a good time and her knowledge about gin was amazing. We also had a friend that who does not drink alcohol and she was amazing with ensuring she made cocktails suitable for them. Nice venue but, unfortunately, was charged twice for the same order of drinks. Have tried to contact the bar on a number of occasions since (via phone and email) to explain the error but have not received any reply.

We stopped by for a lunch and had these amazing plates to share!!!

Waited 20 minutes after ordering on the app for them to rudely tell us the app isn’t working and then after showing them the money came out of our account she repeatedly said it hadn’t gone through even with all the proof. Shocker of a place

Had an absolute blast at Sub 13 thanks to Hatim who was a fantastic host. A lot of fun had thanks to his easy going and engaging cocktail making skills, whilst remaining professional at all times. ----> 5*

Came here for a couple of pre and post dinner cocktails and it was lovely, the staff were very welcoming and the 2 for 1 cocktails were great. The only thing that didn't sit well was the 12.5% tip that was automatically added if you paid by card, we initially paid with cash and this wasn't applied but when we paid by card it was automatically added.

On Arrival the staff at the door were very lovely, unfortunately when trying to order a drink the manager was very abrupt towards me and my friends.

Best late night entertainment in Bath. Mediocre cocktails but great atmosphere and good staff.

Had an amazing time here. The service was amazing. My bartender kit was very friendly and easy to chat to. I recommend anyone around the area to visit here. Amazing cocktails and amazing bar staff.

What a horrendous place. Expensive drinks and rude and useless staff. As if the drinks weren't expensive enough, there was a service charge on every transanction- £5 on every order- taken every time a drink was requested. There was no receipt given and card machine was always in the servers hand- so he added the charge and he gave us no chance to rectify this. My partner was only made aware by her bank app telling her the £11 round was charged at £16 and her friends £8.75 drink and been charged at nearly £12. He also made a point of breaking rounds into smaller transactions to get more service charges (when told that there were in fact two of the same drink ordered, he charged her friend two separate times, so overall, £22 for two bellini's...) When told that the table wont pay service in such an outrageous way, we were made aware service was automatically included on every table service transaction- but also told we were not permitted to walk to the bar and order there. Meaning we had to tell the server EVERY TIME to take the charge off. We also had two pregnant people in the group and the establishment seemed incapable of making non alcoholic drinks correctly resulting in drinks with alcohol in front of them and sickness triggers added when specifically requested to be removed. To top it all off, each of us had to pay £5 entry (in cash...) despite booking a table in advance and being a large group of 16 that would spend well. Terrible experience and sadly not my first in this venue. This time had rowdy uncontrolled drunks throwing drink behind us. Last time had loud drunks falling through the table and smashing glasses everywhere. The staff and security seem unable to control patrons and worry more about the money in the till than guest safety. There are some hideous places to drink in Bath but I think this takes the top spot. Avoid.

Visited Sub 13 for my best friend's hen-do. We had our own space in one of the arches with plenty of room around the table and our own mini-dancefloor. The lovely Beth made sure we were looked after all evening, she was super friendly and matched our excitable energy. Fab night. Recommend!

Very disappointed!!!! We were charged £5 entry then ordered 4 cocktails only to be charged a service charge on each drink. This was not explained.

If I could give this bar 0 stars, I would. Horrible and dismissive manager with the biggest superiority complex. Drinks were criminally overpriced for what they were. We were not allowed to see how much we were being charged as the staff covered the screen on the card machine. After being charged more than we anticipated, we realised they had added a service fee for every drink we ordered without communicating this at any point. £5 entry on the door for a poorly managed bar with a ‘club’ area the size of Harry Potter’s bedroom under the stairs. Despite having booked a table in the bar, at no point were we told that there was an entry fee (we even checked the email confirmation on the door to make sure we hadn’t missed it). They are overcharging their customers at every level possible just for us to be treated with disrespect, bad attitude, and condescension.

We came for my friends 21st, however we were shocked by how the staff spoke to everyone. We were rudely explained the £5 entry, despite our friend not being told that we would have to pay beforehand, and even after checking our booking email, we could not find this fee. They knew they were in the wrong as we were allowed in for a reduced price, but that was the only ‘nice’ gesture we received what so ever. Once inside, we ordered drinks, and instead of £13.50 for two cocktails, we were charged £15.20 each. This is not discussed before we paid, and only discovered this on our banking apps, which was not customer friendly as adding a service charge should be conveyed at the point of service and we were not even given an opportunity to see how much we were paying on the card machine. To top this all of, we had discussed with two different staff about receiving a sparkler in a glass for my friends birthday. 5 minutes to midnight (as she was about to turn 21), we receive an angry manager who explains extremely rudely how this isn’t allowed and we need to pay now or we will get nothing. Our friend (whose birthday it was) could overhear this and it was meant to be a cute surprise. Furthermore, we now only had 3 minutes to sort something out and couldn’t discuss quick enough with our group what to buy. So she ended up with no birthday surprise. This was unacceptable as we had been told that this sparkler was arriving and we were not offered any compensation for this miscommunication on their behalf. The ‘club’ area is tiny. The garden space is nice enough, but nothing special. The drinks were meant to be cocktails but felt like mocktails. Overall, luckily we made the night good for our friend, but the manager and staff need a serious attitude check. Please be nice to your customers.

Me and my missus came here paid a tenner to get in we wanted a drink. We we're told it was table service so we went sat down, they gave our order to someone else, they took over half hour to sort it out. It was better next door in slug and lettuce, cheaper drinks drink and better atmosphere. We don't think we'll come here again.

We visited here late at night as open till 3 .walk down the steps into small dance area thats filled with happy dancers .follow to the back past the toilets out side here you get table service .great service happy to collect your drinks while you sit in a comfy heated out door space .

Came to bath for a hen do and went to the club as part of our evening. We pre booked to have space but upon arrival we were told that it was only for the entry not for anything else. Oh and we still had to pay the £5 a head entry fee! We went into the downstairs club as that's where the door person told us to go and said there was seating space for the 14 of us in the underground area. When we decided we wanted drinks after the heart attack at the prices we decided to just go for water or a non alcoholic drink! But when faced with the sardine can they call a club we regretted that choice as we couldn't even get in the door let alone to the bar! The music was good but it was such a tight squeeze in there that it was potentially very dangerous and you were packed in too tight there as no room for dancing more like bashing against each other....maybe I am getting old for the club scene but I have never been anywhere like that! 🤣 We were deciding where to go for a drink or what to do next when we were "escorted" out of the seating area as despite being told where to go there was another hen party coming in so we had used our "allotted time". We weren't that bothered anyway as most of us decided to call it quits and headed back to the hotel we just wished we had stayed at the previous pub and enjoyed the night for longer!

Loved our night out here. The DJ was playing really goos music and the dancefloor security man, Viliame, was a-amazing. Excellent vibes. Great photobombing skills 😂

Beware! They unethically take a service charge and do not communicate this to the customer at point of sale. Tell you it’s optional until it isn’t. The manager is rude, unreasonable and has absolutely no idea what customer service is. Would 100% not recommend.

Lovely friendly welcome and service from a lady with an equally friendly German shepherd! She recommended a new cocktail on the menu which was one of the best I’ve had (berry/watermelon!) - heated outdoor seating area with a DJ keeping the good atmosphere. Would definitely come back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Travelled to Bath for Hen Do we hosted for my best friend and we had the lovely Sam to guide us through a cocktail masterclass. Albeit, 60% of the group have all had years behind the bar, Sam was very informative about each cocktails and was still very much hands on to assist us when we had a go ourselves! We felt that despite us getting a bit tipsy and fairly annoying, Sam was super patient with us and ensured to provide us with enough drinks for everyone to enjoy! He also gave recommendations for locations to go to and even managed to arrange for us to revisit in the evening as we had no idea where the hot spots were for a Saturday night! So thank you so much Sam and also James! James actually was very sweet and remembered my name as well as offered how to get back to the hotel safely and if we found it too cold, he offered for us to stay inside to wait for one which was such a nice touch to the end of the evening! I’m going to grab the rest of the girls to try to get you those well deserved reviews!

Sub 13 gave a great interactive cocktail making class for my friend's hen do. The staff were friendly and professional and there was a massive garden area for drinks in the sun. I ended up losing an airpod and they've kindly offered to post it back to me!

My friends and I came to Sub 13 for the cocktail masterclass with Alfie and had such a wonderful time! The cocktails were absolutely delicious and Alfie was a lot of fun. Later that evening we came back and I unfortunately lost my purse - the team were so helpful when I called back a couple of days later and as they had my purse Alex even offered to post my purse back to me free of charge. Absolutely fantastic customer service, really appreciated the help of the team and would recommend to anyone visiting.

Not great The room you walked into was packed out like sardines. The toilets were grim. The upstairs bar was nicer. I'm glad we didn't pay for a table at nearly £500.

Really cool bar and good for cocktail making. Our host for the making was abit obnoxious though "I have to get done in the hour". " I got offered a job at the ritz". When looking at the bill we asked if it was defo right he responded with "I know how to count". Other than that cool bar nice vibes.

Paid to get into the downstairs “club”. The music was fantastic but it was such a tight squeeze in there that it was potentially a very dangerous situation. There were far too many people inside. Complaints to the bouncers fell on deaf ears. We decided for our own safety that we should leave. Numbers should be restricted to make the experience less of a health and safety risk. One star rating was purely for the music!!!

Cocktail making with Alfie - could not fault our experience. Went to celebrate a birthday and it was the perfect addition to the evening. Firstly, really sticky floors gettinng to the back bar. There was then a Juniper Berry in our Baby Guiness shot - totally unexpected. When I approached staff, they achknowledged that it happened and it shouldnt have been there but offered no replacement, disgusted by the service to be honest. especially with the price. Your staff let you down, especially the 25+ year old bald male.

Large outdoor seating area with heaters. There was a large group of us and the waiter Jack was amazing.

The manager Rachel is soo rude! She dropped my drink all over the table when she opened the parasol, looked at me and not even said sorry, I told all her colleagues about that they offered replacement for the drink but I told them it’s not about the drink, it’s about the way she behaves and she didn’t even mind!!! I’m not sure how she’s a manager there!! Avoid this place
