Terrible pub, security don’t let you in past 12:30 on a Saturday night Halloween celebrations, when was on my own, friends in the pub and they close at 2:30. I hadn’t had one drink. And I’m a neighbour I have to listen to the shouting every weekend.

If you can't pull in mallards then you're doing something wrong and should admit to yourself that you will probably end your days alone and miserable.

The place has the appearance of a dance/sports bar with wooden floor throughout but in the daytime they sell nice coffee and the outside area is excellent. Toilets upstairs, clean and tidy.

What a dive! Two things about this place! First! They have a set area for the riff raff and the people doing lines of coke off the table! "Really!" And was told to go out the front to drink unless we wanted to gent involved in violence! Words from security! And then when we sat out front one of the servers thought it would be funny to say our table purchased a round of drinks for a girls table the other side, we did not! And we left due to possible violence coming to our table due to this game being played!!! @somerset licensing and police should 100% DO AN UNDERCOVER VISIT!

The barman seemed a wee bit special but friendly, the floor was very stick as though it hadn't been cleaned properly. For a less than busy pub the place was fairly dirty.

Situated slap bang in the middle of a quaint looking High Street, It's quite small but the inside is nice and there's a seated area outside, at the front, where you can calmly sit and watch the time go by. There's probably about 10 tables, though, for anyone with mobility issues, they are on a bit of a slope. The biggest surprise was the food. I had a burger and it was served quickly, by very attentive staff, tasted fresh and was really good value for money, the prices for food were way less than I'd expected before going in. Despite having visited Midsomer Norton before, I'd never been in to Mallards and I think it's a hidden gem. I recommend it, give it a try.

On Friday 7th December 2018, after an evening at a wonderful Christmas work meal out, some of my work collegues decided to finish the night off at Mallards...however, one of the group had an epileptic drop-seizure. Rather than allowing my collegues, who are midazolam trained, to assist to his needs, the staff/security ASSUMED this collapse was due to drugs, would not listen to the pleas of his friends, picked him up by his arms and legs during mid-seizure, and dumped him out onto the pavement, in the rain, where his friends were able to finally support him through this, until the seizure was over. I have always said that ASSUMPTION is a bad thing - woah forbid should anyone have a heart attack there! I personally think this is something which should be taken to the national papers, but my friend is too nice to officially complain - and doesn't care that he has actually been BANNED from the place for this incident 😠

Strange layout to this pub, it's more of a "nightclub" set up. Drinks were flat and served in plastic cups, this was from early doors. Wouldn't rush back

Cheap and cheerful place for food and drink and its family friendly. They also have a fenced off beer garden area which is bonus with children. Inside is well presented. It's really been done in recently and it's paid off. The smoke stack chicken is lovely but the kitchen isn't always open in the times it says it is which is unfortunate.

Me and my boyfriend wanted to go to one of my local pubs for breakfast yesterday morning, we chose Mallards as their full English breakfast is only £4.99! We were served by a lovely girl behind the bar, we sat outside and within 15-20 minutes our food was ready. What a lovely breakfast it was, the hash browns were crispy, the eggs were cooked to perfection and the sausages were yummy. If you are looking for a tasty full English in the Midsomer Norton/Radstock area, I would definitely recommend Mallards.

There are some places you instantly dislike. It wasn't the beer - they didn't have much of a choice, but there was Newcastle Brown in bottles. It wasn't the service - the barmaid was amiable enough and the pink hair rinse went well with the garish decor. It wasn’t the tv screens that were in every direction you looked - it was showing England beating South Africa at test cricket. I just didnt like the place. A one off visit for me.

DJ doesn't play very good music. The dance floor was empty due to this fact. He should get the hint and play music to suit the Saturday night feel. Lots of people were requesting music he just ignored everyone.

food was really tasty. Though the build your own breakfast bap doesn't say when you choose bacon, it's 1 rasher, and they could have cut the sausage in half so it is more spread out in the bap rather than only in half of it. the hash brown was so tasty!
