This restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. The food is so authentic and delicious. The service is always top notch. The ribs are a must and it’s a place we have visited many times and never been disappointed

Just had a meal at suay. Meals have always been lovely, but sad to have to post this. My meal tonight was a huge disappointment. Thought the Wednesday deal was still on. Told it had ended but no notification of their on Social Media. Staters were lovely. But my main was a disappointment. Sicky rice was hard. Needed a knife to cut it. My chicken with cashew nuts had about 4 cashew nuts, there were more mushrooms than nuts. Will stick to the afternoon menu in future. 😞

This place is amazing. All the food tastes fantastic. The staff are friendly and the restaurant is well presented. The only negative is parking. It's sometimes hard to park nearby, but it's well worth a short walk when the food is this good.

Came today for a cookery lesson and what can I say other than wow wow wow!! The chef was amazing and so knowledgeable and the waitress specifically Abbie was so accommodating and friendly going out of her way to make sure we were enjoying it. The food we made was lovely and plentiful I would definitely recommend this experience to everyone!!

Absolutely love this restaurant, have been time and time again and never had a bad meal. The staff are truly top class, welcoming and nothing is ever too much trouble. The food is incredibly tasty, especially the Massaman curry 😍😍 Special shout out for the cocktails too - dangerously good!!

Just got a delivery from here , been trying to find decent food to order since moving to formby and this restaurant is by far the nicest food I’ve had since moving here . Absolutely lovely everything we had .

Again, Suay was a fab experience. Superb fresh food. We had the spring rolls to start. The Massaman curry was so lovely. Nasi Goreng was fab. Service was brill. One of our favourite restaurants in Formby.

Amazing food and cocktails as always. I’ve never had a bad meal at Suay, definitely somewhere to try if you’ve never been.

If you like to pay £19 for a plate of sweet chilli sauce with a little spice, frozen battered prawns and an overwhelming amount of peppers and onion this is the place for you ! Oh and don't forget you have to pay extra for noodles or rice... so £22 for a plate of food that is chip shop standard. In addition to the high price and cheap food the place feels unclean. We had a wall right next to us that was splattered with food, very off putting. I would have asked to be moved but my friend doesn't like a fuss and was too embarrassed to ask. After paying I asked the waitress if she would like a bit of feedback. I pointed out the wall we were sat next to and how off putting this was. She said it was the wallpaper pattern but I pointed out that with a little water and a napkin it comes off ! Filthy. I'm sure there are much better places to eat in formby so do yourself a favour and avoid this place.

This food experience was not good value for money - there was 4 of us with all different dishes but the sauce was exactly the same on each dish. The worst part was the wait for our main courses whilst the chefs /staff were dealing with food takeaways & deliveries. We will vote with our feet next time & visit an authentic Asian restaurant with a lot more choice & different tasting sauces.( £166 which was apparently with 25% off mains)Totally overpriced for the quantity & quality of the food.

Quality of food appears to have deteriorated dry crispy duck and sides. Not very warm, poor and pricy.

I'm a regular visitor to Formby, Suay being the place to enjoy the best food and service. There just a few days ago, I was tempted by the Vegetable Tempura - delicious. This was followed by Szechuan Chilli Prawns - again totally delicious. The place offers a warm welcome, the staff always friendly and polite. If you're looking for excellent food and service, this is the restaurant to find it.

Bought a very expensive take away paid 21 pounds for half duck disgusting the portion was tiny like a quarter. The rest off the food was also disgusting and it went in the bin 70 pounds worth .very disappointing. The spring rolls full of stale fat .

I have been to Suay countless times, it is always my first choice and favourite place to go! The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the food is second to none! The best Thai/Chinese food you will ever have! I already can’t wait to go back! If you are considering it, make this your sign to go!!

Been to this restaurant a few times as food and service are fantastic … yet again they didn’t disappoint. Staff are very attentive nothing was too much trouble for them.. and the food was excellent, portion sizes are huge, could have shared the main meal and still been full, also love the ambience. I recommend anyone going here .. give it 10/10

I had the battered sweet and sour chicken, which some of the batter ,didn’t contain any chicken whatsoever, when I got home I had to go the loo immediately as it run right through me (sorry if too much info) I still feel sickly now, we ordered a portion of salt and pepper chips which weren’t cooked through, the middle was hard: we did mention this to the waitress and she said they would let the chef know , they never charged for the chips: I still feel like we threw £50 down the drain… never again….

The food was delicious and the service very very good. Excellent experience, we are really enjoyed it.

Popped into Suay after I'd been next door in Azure Dental this morning, and I got spoilt rotten by young Lauren, who put together a lovely little lunch for me to make my mouth feel normal again 😉 Started with some delicious Japanese salt and pepper tempura mushrooms with a nice little glass of Asahi to cleanse the pallet. Then moved on to a divine Malaysian Curry with a little fresh OJ to remind me of my time in Nakhon Si Thammarat last year. Very delicious (อร่อยมาก). A busy restaurant with a good ambience. Service from each person who came to the table was excellent. The team of Asian chefs were clearly enjoying the job. One even found an elegant solution to wrap a bone for the dog in foil. The portions were generous. The spicing was well blended and slightly toned down to appeal to diners who are intimidated by red chilli. Prawn spring rolls and Vietnamese squid starters. Massaman lamb shank and Korean beef with coconut rice and some sticky rice too.

Went for lunch on Sunday and it was delicious. Food was really really good and both the waitresses were so friendly and professional. We were made very welcome, great cocktails were made for us too. Great value for money. We’ll definitely be back, thanks 👍🏼

the Vietnamese squid cakes were divine and if you're a fan of duck you have to try the duck curry. it has strawberries and grapes in it but trust me, it works!

We went about 4pm, but were still able to choose from the lunch menu, which was great value. The food was really tasty, and the staff were really lovely and attentive. We will definitely go back.

We as a family booked a table for six for the family and were asked for a deposit of £5 per head to retain the booking which I do not think is acceptable / we did not pay deposit / the food was slow in being served but have to say the family enjoyed the meal and the menu very comprehensive but feel the man courses are a tad expensive but it may be me as I get older /Service OK

Everything was authentic and tasty, especially the pork? Skewers.

Brilliant weekend visit on a mix of the fantastic lunch menu and also the a la carte (for the fussy one of the group!) This place never lets us down, by far one of the best in Formby (the others are Ajab Cafe and Emily’s - everywhere else is pretty rubbish). The food is fantastic, the portions are decent, the service is good - decor could maybe do with a revamp but other than that we love it. Even better is they deliver via Uber Eats now so can always get a Suay fix when I need it.

Seriously underrated… best food in formby by a country mile! It’s a shame they’ve not got their social media together to pull from further afield (like some other places in Formby) but i can honestly say it’s the best food in formby. My ONLY criticism is that the menu hasn’t changed much in the last few years. A few specials would go a long way!

Excellent restaurant. Don’t go to Formby often, looked up a good restaurant and luckily this one came up!! From the minute you walk in, you are treated lovely. The waitor was excellent, we went for a quick lunch, they have a set cheaper menu so we tried it. Never tasted better good, can’t wait to go back!! This is a little gem you have got to try it!! Highly recommend it!! See you all VERY soon!!

Came as hoc. There was a table at the back which is private. Service is good and the delicious food cooked by Thai chefs as they responded to as bai dimai and knew what nalak meant for the young waiter. Tom Yam, Nasi goreng and the main is a Thai Seafood dish. Definitely the best Pan Asian in Formby.

Always fabulous food and lots of it ! If you get starters -share between two -although I still ate the four spring rolls as do delicious!

I love the food in this place and have been a good few times. I just wish the staff were a little more attentive and observant when it comes to drinks. Basically we had one drink last time and if the staff were a little more alert they could have sold us three drinks each. This has happened the last few times. Great food anyways and I will be back, I just hope we get offered another drink.

Absolutely delicious. We had the sharing platter to start and it was perfect: the chicken satay, gyozas, siring rolls - all of it was excellent. I had the Kung pao chicken for my main and my friend had the duck. The coconut rice was the perfect side.

Sunny day for lunch. Atmosphere was lovely with bifolds open, lovely and cool on a hot day. New summer menu was very tasty and very healthy, had it topped off with a delicious sea bass fillet. Tempted so tried the fig stuffed pancake which was absolutely gorgeous, may go back for another one tomorrow!!

We called in and ordered a lunch takeaway after an unplanned visit. We went for the mixed sharing starter. It was absolutely amazing and we enjoyed every part of it. We will definitely be returning next time in formby.

The meal was possibly the best meal I have ever tasted. Myself and my wife opted for a shared platter for starter and this contained a selection of standard starter food you’d expect. Portion size was good but just right. We were so impressed by the presentation. The starter was delicious and cooked to perfection. For the main, I opted for crispy chilli beef as this is my usual go to when on the menu. Wow! It was perfectly crisp in a delicious sauce. The portion size was large but this was welcomed as it was great on the tastebuds. Now i tasted a bite of my wife’s dish (duck dish served with a lovely sauce). The way that duck was cooked was absolutely unbelievable. It melted in the mouth and was just perfectly cooked. The sauce and garnishing enhanced it further. I really cannot stress how well cooked the duck was! We opted for a side of noodles and egg fried rice. These were cooked well and complemented the main meals. We also had some prawn crackers and which were again perfectly presented and tasted fresh. The ambiance was pleasant and intimate. Well spaced out from other tables and looked after by the staff. They struck a perfect balance between being attentive but not overwhelming. One even offered to take a photo of myself and my wife as we attempted a ‘selfie’. The facilities were well kept and had excellent decor. Overall, it has to be a 10/10.

Whilst staying in Formby we decided to visit Suay, we’d been before and was looking forward to visiting again. We were not disappointed. We were seated against the back wall giving us a great view into the restaurant. The cocktails, made by Max, were delicious and a good start for the evening. Abbey took care of us exceptionally well. Her manner was warm and friendly and she made good recommendations. Mike, the manager, ran a smooth ship and the restaurant ran like clockwork. It had a lovely atmosphere and vibe. Our meal and wine was well presented and tasty. My husband had the belly pork and I have the seafood, both looked, smelt and tasted great. We would certainly recommend Suay and will be returning on our next trip north.

Food as always was good but there seems to be a new manageress in there that came across abrupt and very unprofessional, will not be going there again, prefer the Thai restaurant in Crosby more.

4 of us met here for lunch. Good lunch menu, reasonably priced. Enjoyed my lunch choice. Would go again. Restaurant is well situated opposite the entrance to Waitrose in Formby. Please note, if you park in the car park behind M&S, the meters are CASH only! No cards. Do not overstay if you park at Waitrose, it can be a very expensive mistake.

Ordered the Pad Kra Pao Moo Khob. Did not taste original or similar. I would not give it a good rating for being the famous Thai dish. For what it is, it's really good and delicious and it's a solid 7 out of 10 I can recommend. I would expect the same for the rest of the Thai dishes. The restaurant is nice and cozy a little too noisy in terms of echo from a full house of guest. The staff are very kind, helpful and nice and very eager to please. I will recommend this place for recurring visits

Cookery Lesson with Head Chef! I was bought cookery lesson vouchers for Christmas-highly recommend! You are shown how to make a three course meal step by step and then get to enjoy what you have cooked ! The chef talks you through everything and the staff are wonderful . Any left overs are given to you to take home with some other things ( won’t spoil the surprise) in a goody bag . It was a great fun day and the food was delicious! I’m definitely going to recreate the dishes for my friends and family !

First time visit to Suay and really enjoyed the experience. Ordered the set meal A for 2 people. The food was plentiful, cooked well, and really tasty. Our servers were attentive and both made an excellent Old Fashioned cocktail. Who made the best cocktail? Will definitely return to Suay. Looking forward to trying further dishes on their menu.

The food that we got tasted absolutely amazing, the prawn spring rolls were fragrant and crisp, the crispy spicy pork I had was unreal but the star of the show was the char siu bao buns... Honestly I could eat them everyday for the rest of my life. Mai our server is my man he pointed me onto the crispy pork and he didn't let me down. Highly recommend suay to everyone

We had take away dinner two nights in a row because it was so yummy... Mains and delicious banofee spring rolls for desert, topped with ice cream. Highly recommended

Haven't been able to visit here for a while but lovely to go back and see it's still as good as we remember. Food was excellent, and the friendly professionalism of the staff is one of its great pluses. The Manager was accommodating and efficient, and the rest of the staff were really friendly and very good at their jobs. The place was busy, but all was excellently managed to accommodate who wanted what, and when. No rushing ,no unwelcome delays, and generally a very nice experience. Look forward to the next visit.
