Nice selection of plants and trees etc but some of the prices in the tea room are scandalous. £9.99 for a piece of quiche! £8.99 for toasted sandwich? To be fair teas and coffees are similar to most coffee shops or Costa etc

No word of a lie, Sturmer does the best carrot cake I've ever tasted. Moist, flavoursome and decent icing that isn't just artificial sugar. It's impressive enough that I'm dedicating this whole review just to a slice of cake! Great service to boot.

We have visited the tearoom many times, and although the prices are quite high, this is more than made up by the quality of the food and the friendliness of the the staff. Unfortunately this was not the experience we had today. Whilst the staff are extremely enthusiastic, they were disorganised and seemed completely out of their depth. We ordered a sausage roll, and received it over half an hour later. It was extremely hard and difficult to cut through with a knife. We did mention the time it had taken, and were simply told "we are busy". We have been many times when it was far busier than our visit. For a minute piece of cake we were charged full price. Not the best day today at all.

Not as good as it was pre-Covid. Cakes aren't as good as they used to be. Over priced for the portion size you get and indeed the quality. I had to return a scone, I nearly broke the knife on it, I wasnt going to risk my teeth! I was offered a refund or free cake, all of which I declined, but it was good to get the offer. Total rip-off cost of 2 slices of toast £3, seriously! They need to do some local research of local competition that charge a fair price for a decent portion and superior quality. The staff are lovely, they get 5*

Been visiting this nursery for years, right back when it was very small with no cafe. As have all my family. Never bought a duff plant from here and worth the price. You can always find a member of staff with a wealth of knowledge that they’re ready to share. The cafe is bright and clean and the girls are lovely but sadly their prices are shocking. A child’s sandwich and a fruit shoot will set you back £7.50

Went to the nursery for plants and whilst there decided to have a spot of lunch as we had read the reviews previously. I had a ham sandwich for £6.99, I think they may need to change the description to bread and butter. I don’t mind paying that sort of price for an exceptional sandwich but to get 2 slices of brown bread (okay) but to fill it will no more than 3 wafer thin pieces of ham (could hardly taste it and definitely supermarket packet) and they have signs up about supporting local butchers and bakers etc this is not acceptable. People talk about garden centres being the place to get lunch but this is not the place.

I visited with my 1yr old and mother in law today. The garden centre is small but pleasant and the cafe was the same - we had some really lovely cake. However, one of the older ladies that worked at the cafe kept making peculiar comments about my baby. She started by telling me well done for strapping my baby into the highchair - which was odd but fine. But then started talking about the time two years ago she once saw a child stand up on the highchair and how they could have died. Later when another staff member brought our drinks she again popped over to tell me to keep the hot tea out of my baby’s reach. Then again, she was startled and gasped when my baby reached in the direction of my cake. This went on, and was very odd behaviour - my mother in law, and myself were very confused at the unwelcome and patronising comments. Because of this, I don’t think I will return. 5 stars to everyone and everything else!

The girl at the till said ‘it’s just being done’.. NO apology. After another 10 minutes of waiting and watching the staff prepare and handle food with NO gloves on and not using tongs etc.. just bare hands, we decided to ask for our money back.. we did actually get a ‘sorry about that’ as she handed our money back.
