Strigicake in Edinburgh, City of

Estuve aquí para el té de la tarde. Y el lugar en sí es encantador. Los sándwiches eran tan frescos y abundantes. Todos los pasteles son caseros y bollos, incluso la mermelada es casera. Altamente recomendado. Incluso nos llevamos pastelitos y pasteles, ya que había suficiente para alimentar más, ????? Ah, y el chocolate caliente para morir por 10? sin duda volveremos?

We loved our afternoon tea here at this immaculate little place. Everything was homemade and delicious, and it has to be noted that the portions are generous. The service was very friendly and we left full ! For what we paid, the value is truly excellent. We will return in future and can easily recommend strigicake.

Adorably decorated, such lovely owners, and delicious affordable food! What more could you ask for! They have student discount and fresh juice & smoothies, and generous breakfasts. I can't recommend them enough!

Sono ritornata da Daniele ed Eleonora diverse volte e ancora non sono riuscita ad assaggiare tutti i dolci preparati in casa dalle magnifiche mani di Eleonora. Abbiamo ordinato la torta di compleanno di mia figlia ed è stata sicuramente una gioia per gli occhi e il palato! Grazie di cuore per la simpatia, cordialità e disponibilità.

We had breakfast here twice during the festival - once the cooked Scottish, complete with haggis, beautifully cooked free range eggs and the rest, and once the Italian with a croissant, wonderful home made banana bread and proper Italian coffee. Grazie!

Elegimos ir a desayunar aquí y todo estaba delicioso. Entre nosotros tomamos un desayuno escocés completo y huevos revueltos y salmón con tostadas. Todo muy rico. Compramos algunos pasteles para llevar con nosotros, el Cavallucci es particularmente delicioso y abundante. Muy buen personal también.

Stopped for tea after visiting Arthur’s Seat. Small cafe with cute owl decor. Cakes looked lovely, had Nutella tart which was delicious but pastry a little on thick side. No fault with milkshake, coffee or tea. Hosts very nice.

Gestito da simpatici italiani, provato per colazione, possibile sia dolce che salato e soprattutto ottimo caffè espresso. Non ho dato il punteggio massimo x la pulizia, senz altro migliorabile.

Really enjoyed afternoon tea, coffee was great, sandwiches fresh and I loved the cake with nuts. Very friendly staff and loved owls theme. Would definitely recommend to visit.

Very friendly owners do everything including making the cakes for the afternoon tea. We used a Groupon voucher and really enjoyed it. Would recommend if either looking at vouchers or you find yourself in the area and are choosing where to go.

Had the afternoon tea here and it was very tasty. A very generous portion of cakes and scones which tasted very fresh. Lovely presentation, and the owners were accommodating to our dietary requirements! :)

Sarete accolti dal sorriso e dalla cordialità di Daniele, che vi proporrà dolci tradizionali della cucina toscana, rigorosamente home made preparati con cura e amore da Eleonora.E poi ancora cannoli, torte meravigliose, scones e tanto, tanto altro, come ad esempio le torte personalizzate per occasioni speciali. Ottimo caffè espresso italiano.

Visited this venue today, was nice but not enough sandwiches ,but cakes were nice. It was different would return again for the cakes but not the sandwiches

This is a really nice friendly Italian café in Edinburgh's southside. Good service, good range of light bites, cakes and drinks. Very good value - two of us had lunch and hot drinks for less than a tenner. They offer student discount too.

I like owls, so was delighted to stumble across this place after a swim at the Commie pool. I had a bacon roll and nice flat white the first time and tasty soup, sandwich and chocolate brownie the second time. Lovely couple run it. Took a v nice Italian de facto Bakewell tart away with me, too.

Lovely little restaurant, owls everywhere!! Very cute. Reasonably priced tasty home cooked food, just what we needed for a relaxing lunch after our first Fringe Show of 2018.

Italian couple make cakes afternoon tea and breakfast. Front of house could be a bit better and I would ask them to uprate the sausages but I give them 5 stars because they are so lovely. All food is cooked fresh.

Hidden away just of the main Newington Road in East Preston St is this little hidden gem.

Absolutely love this place. Popped in for coffee but couldn't resist the Cannolli. Very reasonably priced and the coffee is fantastic. a la prossima!

Found this delightful Italian cafe, the coffee is the best as are the cakes made on the premises . Well worth a visit .

If you like fresh handmade pastries, that is the place for you. Italian and English traditional pastries to have takeaway and seating in. It’s possible also to order cakes for events!! Absolutely lovely. Diary free, gluten free (possible contamination).

I was with my boyfriend and we tried this little cafe' last Sunday afternoon. We were surprised by the courtesy of the owners and my boyfriend truly appreciated the tiramisu that we had ordered. Also the espresso was nice, and said it by Italians couldn't be more true!

If your looking for an Italian coffee this is the place to go. Easy walk from Arthur's Seat. Next time we're visiting Edinburgh definitely will be going back.

I recently downloaded an App Too good to Go- fight against food waste where restaurants cafes end up throwing food out at closing time. Shockingly a lot of charities won't take the food because it doesn't have allergen information nor reheating guidelines so perfectly edible food goes in the bin. I found Strigicake on this app and tried it for the first time. I paid £3.50 on the app and picked it up at 5 after work for dinner as I was feeling lazy. I got 2 croissants, a cookie, strawberry tart and a cream cone. Not only was it a bargain but the cakes were Fabulous- can't believe that would've gone in the bin. Great way for this place to recoup some money and save the environment. I'd go back as a full paying customer as the owners were also friendly

Wanted a quick lunch walked and got chips burger etc, was very good and nice little place to just have time to yourself staff was very friendly and gave a tiny complementary cake would defo recommend. I will be back

I was not the person who got the cake, as it was my birthday, but my colleague reported that they were absolutely fantastic about insuring a last minute cake could be purchased and created in a short amount of time.
