An absolutely wonderful dining experience. The food is phenomenal and worth so much more than the sum of its parts. Me and my partner had the pigeon & the beetroot starters, both were excellent and I’d highly recommend. The venison main was excellent and so worth the price. The staff made a relaxing but attentive environment and the decor is beautiful. This was one of the best meals I’ve had in years. Can’t wait to return to try more!

Enjoy the Sunday Roast in a movie atmosphere. The welcome and treatment with the staff was incredible, attentive to everything we needed. The atmosphere was magical, our table was at the top and you could see all the decoration, it is super cozy and there were many local customers, that already indicates that the food is good. And most importantly the food, whenever we travel to the United Kingdom we usually have the Sunday Roast and it is without a doubt the best we have tried. A must see if you visit Glasgow 🥰

My mum and I stopped for a night in Glasgow when travelling to see family in Scotland, for our holiday treat, chose our old favourite (Stravaigin) for dinner. It did not disappoint! Food was a fantastic as ever - tasty, imaginative dishes, service friendly, helpful. We had my dog, which was no problem to them - well worth a visit, you won’t be disappointed. Highlights for me were the Scallops and pumpkin (excellent, well thought out, balanced plate) or the manchego brûlée but it’s hard to choose as all the dishes were amazing - others we had were the pigeon starter, duck leg special with tabbouleh, the Basque cheesecake. If I was to make any criticism at all we did have to wait a bit for our desert order to be taken, then again to pay our bill - but I am really nip picking as there were plenty of staff, all busy in full service, so we could of flagged someone down but we were in no hurry so waiting was no problem. Thanks again Stravaigin, a highlight of our trip home

Sunday Lunch. Made a trip in from Balloch purely for Sunday Lunch on a dreich day on a recommendation. Simply put, worth the trip. Great atmosphere, great service, memorable (in a good way) Yorkshires filled with a really savoury ragu, to accompany really tasty roast beef and enough decent gravy to keep a Yorkshire Lass happy (not an easy feat). I still don't like Haggis but that is my problem as this may be the best I've ever tried either vegetarian or 'real', too. And the vanilla ice cream was just amazing, maybe not had better outside of Italy. Don't dither, GO. We will next time we are anywhere near.

Blew me out the water especially once my expectations were dampened when I noticed it was now a greene king venue. Had no idea until afterwards it was Michelin guide but it well well deserves to be. I was blown away by the food quality. Service was pretty good and the staff were really nice. When you walk in the door there's not really a set place to stand and wait to be seated so I was stood for a couple of minutes kind of looking around to see if I would be seated but as soon as staff were aware of my presence they were super attentive the whole time without suffocating us. There were individual staff who didn't seem to have the same attentiveness that we struggled to get the attention of but aside from that the whole experience was fantastic and way above my expectations. I had the squid starter in a peanut curry sauce that was absolutely incredible with some nicely seared chorizo and I convinced my girlfriend to try pigeon for the first time and she loved it. She got the steak and I got the venison and both were cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. I finished with a citrus cheesecake that's in that burnt style I can't remember the name of but that was also incredible. Had a tea great night overall though the bill was slightly higher than we had planned on it was well worth it and we had just gotten carried away. We weren't pushed with heavy upsells or anything like that. Great restaurant, definitely worth a visit

Everything was just perfect about that restaurant… food, ambiance and quality. I particularly recommend the Loch Melfort sea trout and if you want to try haggis you can take it in a small portion. Stravaigin has lost a little of its lovely well worn patina and soul. We arrived at midday on Sunday to find the place dead. It used to have a great atmosphere but I think the refurb and menu change has killed it a little. I’m not 100% sure but there doesn’t appear to be a brunch menu available - perhaps we were too late. I miss the nasi goreng and the curry option doesn’t seem to change anymore. (Please remove the potato, it’s too much with the rice and bread.) Lovely staff, tasty food, crap atmosphere.

My wife and I recently celebrated our wedding at Stravaigin, and it’s only right that I leave a 5-star review. From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect, and I cannot recommend the venue and the incredible staff highly enough. If we could do it all over again, we would pick Stravaigin every time. Throughout the entire planning process, Olivia was an absolute gem. She was not only incredibly helpful and attentive to every detail, but she also played a huge role in calming our nerves as the big day approached. Her support and expertise truly made a difference, and we felt reassured knowing that everything was in such capable hands. On the day itself, the staff at Stravaigin went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, and their professionalism was second to none. Every single one of our guests has told us how amazing the food was—it’s still being talked about! The team executed everything flawlessly, making sure our guests were well looked after and that we had nothing to worry about. The venue itself was nothing short of spectacular. Many of our guests commented on how fantastic the setting was, perfectly complementing the atmosphere of our celebration. The whole experience left us feeling truly special, and we are so grateful for the memories we created at Stravaigin. If you’re looking for a venue that offers outstanding service, exceptional food, and a team that genuinely cares about making your day perfect, then Stravaigin is the place to go. We couldn’t have imagined a better place to celebrate our wedding

We had an incredible dining experience at Stravaigin in Glasgow. Visiting with our 14-year-old, who bravely tried haggis for the first time, we were all impressed by the exceptional service and delicious food. As a celiac, I was delighted by the careful attention to ensuring my meals were completely gluten-free. The venison was amazing, and the squid and ox cheek were equally delicious. The soup was spectacular, perfectly warming on a cool summer day. The service was prompt and attentive throughout our meal. Stravaigin is truly an amazing way to sample authentic Scottish cooking. Highly recommended!

Some months ago a friend of mine was visiting glasgow and i was googling to find some bars for him where he might get the chance to see some live music. When i found the Stravaigin on google, google pictures showed some drinks where i could have sworn one of them was a basil-smash gin, my friends favourite. So i urged him to visit the place and for sure when he got there he ordered a basil-smash, which(turns out) the bartender swore that in all the years he's been workin there, they never had that on the menue. My friend insisted though on the drink, since i've promised him he'd get it there. And in the face of false accusation (my fault) of not having that drink, the bartender reacted with friendliness, ingenuety and skill and put together a basil-smash gin for my friend that wasnt even on the menue. If i could i'd love to give more than 5 starts to this bar and their amazing staff. would very much recommend

I've been coming to Stravaigin ever since I moved to Glasgow (1996) and I've never been so disappointed with the food. There is no longer much variety in the menu, and the minute changes that are made appear all too seldom. Our starter was excellent but £11 for two slices of squid and a handful of chorizo is hardly good value. My wife's sea trout with spanakopita (she is Greek) was, in her view, excellent. My own ancho chili (vegan) burger was a squishy mess that had no hint of the heat or smokiness of ancho chilis. We won't be going back to Stravaigin again.

Second time at the restaurant, having been a few years ago. The food was as outstanding as I remembered, and my glass of wine memorable as well. The service, while friendly and pleasant when one did have it, was excrutiatingly slow: between being seated and someone coming to take my drink order; ages for the glass of wine to arrive; slow for my starter and a horribly long time between the starter and my next dish. I am not sure I would have even gotten it when I did had I not FINALLY been able to get the server's attention, after many attempts. Ages to get the bill too. And, seated in The Cellar part, next to a wall case of wine bottles: clean the cobwebs off them sometime!

At the weekend we had the Sunday Roast . The decor of the place is lovely, with old Singer sewing machine tables. So that is a nice 'local' touch. I had the duck liver pater and black cherry ketchup to start with, which was nice. Although I wasn't 100% convinced on the brioche toast. For our main course all three of us went for the roast beef. Which came with roasties, carrot, cauliflower & broccoli cheese, a separate pot of gravy and a Yorkshire pudding that had some slow cook meat inside. We were all a little disappointed with the roast beef, all three plates of meat were chewy. And unfortunately we did end up leaving some and not managing to eat it all. The roast potatoes were excellent though, the best we've had in a while. The meat inside the Yorkshire pudding was amazing, but it was a bit confusing having it encased in the Yorkshire. We really enjoyed the Salted Caramel pudding and the Mango Sorbet. Overall we'd give the Sunday Roast a 7 out of 10. Everything but the meat was amazing.

We couldn’t have enjoyed it by more than we did. All the staff were friendly & helpful and it was a lovely breakfast as well. Thanks to Lesley and the whole team for looking after us so well.
