Solid 5 stars for me. We had a room for the night just to crash after a party and we were pleasantly surprised at how nice it actually was, the staff were also really nice. We were at an event and got back at like 1am and the bartender offered us a free drink to take up to our room before he closed for the night. And a decent continental breakfast. I think this is going to be our standard spot whenever we go to Glasgow.

Rab Ha's Hotel is a charming and convenient stay located just a short walk from Argyle Street train station. The relaxed atmosphere, paired with its prime location near St. Andrew's Cathedral and The People's Palace, makes it an ideal choice for travelers. The four laid-back rooms are well-equipped with modern amenities like free Wi-Fi, iPod docks, flat-screen TVs, and tea/coffee facilities, ensuring a comfortable stay. The en suite bathrooms add a touch of convenience, and room service is a nice bonus. Downstairs, the warm restaurant serves classic Scottish cuisine in a traditionally decorated setting, while the cozy bar with exposed brickwork offers hearty pub fare. Whether you're here for the food, the location, or the comfortable rooms, Rab Ha's Hotel delivers a welcoming and enjoyable experience. Perfect for those looking for a blend of comfort and local charm!

I didn't sleep in the hotel but I ate at the pub several times. The place is small but very welcoming, the corner with the fireplace is very nice. The staff is courteous. The food was very good, generous and quality rations. There is also the possibility of tasting some typical Scottish dishes which I personally appreciated a lot.

Merci au cuisinier aussi. Rapport qualite-prix top. Excellente soirée pour nous (eric et Corinne de France)

We had lunch here in June - after it was recommended by a local tour guide and so glad we did! The staff were welcoming and friendly (special mention to Ruby). We didn't have a reservation, but we were given a table quickly. We ate the "special of the day" - "Potato fritters with Haggis and black pudding"! We were traveling from Australia and we really enjoyed this Taste of Scotland on a plate. The prices were very reasonable!

I wouldn’t call this place a hotel—it's more like a pub with four rooms upstairs. It feels more like a spot for someone who's tired or had too much to drink to crash for a few hours. There’s no proper reception area, which was a bit off-putting for me. My experience wasn’t great. When I arrived, I was given a large room with three big windows. These windows were extremely old, with noticeable gaps and seams that let in cold air and noise. During a midday nap, I woke up freezing. Despite asking for a heater, I was told there were none available. I had to improvise by isolating the windows myself, using a duvet, pillows, and towels ... to block the drafts. Even the radiator in the room was unreliable—it would go cold at times. I requested a smaller, warmer room but was told they were fully booked, which wasn’t true. After I left the building and came back later, I found a note asking me to come downstairs for a room swap. They eventually moved me to a smaller room with just one well-sealed window, an extra heater, and standard amenities like an iron. This room was warm and comfortable, and I managed to sleep well. The breakfast options were basic: toast, jam, and fruit included in the stay, but cooked breakfast costs £10. Check-out time is at 12. Overall, I wouldn’t rate this as a 4-star hotel. It’s far from it. The larger room might be fine for summer, but it’s unsuitable for winter due to poor insulation. I don’t recommend staying here unless it’s your only option. Be mindful of the season if you decide to stay here!

We went here for our Christmas night out and had it booked. Some of the group went up to get the first round and one person was told they weren’t allowed to serve him alcohol even though he was absolutely fine. We weren’t drunk or loud but when questioning why this was done we were told (after buying 2 rounds of drinks by this point) that we all had to leave. I still do not know why nothing was done or said for this to happen. So we said we didn’t want to actually be here any way since it wasn’t welcoming for us and asked to get the round of drinks just bought refunded. We were told no and to leave. Wouldn’t recommend it in here at all absolutely shocking service.

Well, the staff T-shirts say it all - "average staff"!! In fact, that's generous as I'd say they are less than average. Why? Well, it's all about customer service at a bar and when the bar is quiet and there is about 7 staff around it should be seconds before you are asked for an order. It was more like 5 mins and even then I had to shout down a member of staff - truly awful! When will bar managers and staff realise that it's all about serving customers quickly and efficiently. I'd recommend that the incompetent bar manager goes to the Piper Bar on George Square to see how a bar should be run Will never go back and if I hadn't been with family I would have walked out...shameful. For public, don't bother - go somewhere else as they deserve to have less custom for truly awful service

We had someone with a food intolerance in our party and the staff were great at making sure our food was safe. Food was really tasty and there was lots of choice. Over our 2 visits we had had between us: the steak pie (highly recommended), the burger, the Cajun chicken, sausage and mash and the fish and chips. The only slightly disappointing meal was the fish but everything else was A1. I enjoyed the light humour on the menu and staff t-shirts and there was a good atmosphere.

I’m writing this sitting on one of Rab Ha’s bed rooms. Room 2. Hello management if you are reading this! Not impressed. Really not impressed. I booked it - a double for my husband and me and he’s pretty pissed off at the star of it. When we arrived it was configured as a twin (“It was meant to be a double”, I said. “Ach, you can push beds together if you want” - said with a shrug) The bedroom is filthy. Not said lightly. It is filthy. When we pushed the beds together to make a double, we wished we hadn’t. There was years of dust underneath and behind the beds. The carpet was ripped. The room was BOILING hot. There is black mould in the shower and dust on every surface in the bathroom. At the moment several wee black flies are buzzing around the room. I’d rather be on a night out, but felt compelled to post NOW. I’ll update in the morning. Dust heaps in the corner. And the loo brush was just insanitary (see photos). There’s now a loud beeping noise like an alarm from the next door room. Won’t stop. So annoying. To be continued….

It is a great location and they have good food. The staff were excellent and the room had all the required facilities for making a tea or coffee. As the bar was very busy, no table available, they delivered my food order to my room. The bathroom, however, required a wee bit of DIY. The shower was leaking, sink chipped, and the toilet seat requires to be tightened / fixed. The cooked breakfast was nice, and there was a choice options for a continental style breakfast. Nice having breakfast in front of the fire. Cooked breakfast starts at 9.30am so if you are an early riser, you may miss out. It is also an additional £10.

This is a very good pub with great pub food but it’s freezing and I’m not exaggerating. They are trying to heat the whole pub with a fire at one end of the bar, if your not sitting at the fire your going to be cold. I don’t nor bother with the cold but even I struggled with it and when I looked around the bar most people we’re sitting with jackets on and some even had their hats on. I get energy prices are through the roof but if you want your customers to stay and drink you nee to make them comfortable and at least warm. Our party of 8 had our food and moved on to somewhere warmer. Note to the owner. You cannot hope to heat the whole bar area with a small fire at one end when you have a double door in the middle and it’s -2 outside.

Travelled through from Edinburgh for a catch up with friends having booked this restaurant. A little surprised on arriving to see how small the dining area was. For some reason I had expected a proper dining area but it’s basically tables and chairs placed around a bar. Getting to the meal, two of the four of us had soup to start and both soups were said to be nice. Cullen Skink and the soup of the day - Scotch Broth. Mains chosen were steak pie times three and fish and chips. The pie was delicious. Plenty of very tender meat and gravy inside and crusty pastry. Lovely mash with carrots and peas. The fish was reported to be a little dry. Two of us opted for the sticky toffee pudding with yummy sauce and ice cream. Again delicious. All in all we had a lovely time here. Most of the tables were busy by the time we left. Shout out to the two young servers who were very friendly. Service was quick and efficient.

Unlike most reviewers I can't comment on the bar food or drink as I didn't really have the time to test out, but the room (1 of just 4!) was great, very comfy bed and cosy feel. Any quibbles (slightly cramped space-wise, some bathroom products not topped up) were just that. An excellent pub, would thoroughly recommend to non Glaswegians. Great place to grab some good food and enjoy the atmosphere.

Laid back and quite place. Meal took a while to come through but it was expected as they were busy. Staff are nice.

Nice restaurant in the city of Glasgow, with a very good atmosphere, cordial and friendly service. They gave us a table despite not having reserved, on the condition that we finish our dinner before 7 p.m. We thought it was great. Food very well prepared and tasty. The wine list is excellent. Highly recommended! Make a reservation!

Local pub for a drink. Anne does a great roll and bacon. Worth a visit.
