Stratford Garden Centre in Stratford-on-Avon

Visited today and ordered a Diet Coke, a latte and a slice of cake. Was told upon ordering it would be a 15 minute wait. After 40 minutes of waiting at the table I gave up and went back to the counter and asked for a refund. Staff couldn’t have cared less. The couple next to me also being served at the counter had the same issue. They too requested a refund having waited 45 minutes for two coffees. Utterly poor service. Got my money back and went elsewhere.

We’ve often come here in the past for coffee and we will continue to come back for coffee and cake… However we came today for lunch and I was really surprised that the jacket potato was priced at almost £10 (for one filling) and £2 for an extra filling! I ordered it anyway as I was really craving a nice Jacket but unfortunately was really let down as it was hard inside and fairly small (for the price) I just think that is so overpriced. Also, why would a jacket potato with baked beans and a jacket potato with chilli con carne be priced the same? £11.75 for beans and cheese!!!! Surely they would keep the cheaper ingredients at a lower cost. Anyway I can’t fault the staff and atmosphere. Servers are always so lovely and helpful and the coffee and cake is always so good! So, I shall return, just not for a jacket potato 🙈

Service poor. We ordered coffee & food. The food came and no drinks. We kept being told coffees were coming but we had mostly eaten our food before it did. I know it’s not in the rule book but it is basic that you want your drinks before your food.

I recently came on a Sunday, hoping for a roast dinner while at the garden centre. However, there are no vegetarian roast option.

Just had a great Christmas Meal here, the food was delicious, the service (with a smile) was great and the atmosphere was very Christmassy. The price was not an overcharge for the type of food we ate. All in all a lovely experience.

Sunday 27th August 2023, My husband and I on our way back home returned via Stratford-on-Avon. My husband and I made a stop for coffee and cakes at 'The Lime Tree Restaurant' in ‘Stratford Garden Centre’, where we indulged in large slices of coffee and walnut cake washed down with a pot of Darjeeling tea for my husband and a latte coffee for me. I also found inspiration here as I wrote a poem called ‘Back To Reality’. We also went round the farm shop to find something to eat for tea, as we did not want to go out again after returning back home. We then continued our journey back to Birmingham and arrived home .

I visited this venue for the first time today, I was very impressed with the quality, price and first class friendly service .

Great food we shared baked potato with panni Cumberland sausage coffees and cake. This place has really stepped up and is great for a meet up with friends for lunch

Hadn’t been here for some years and it is greatly enlarged and a very pleasant surprise! The menu was interesting and varied. Customer service was very good, swift and with attention to detail. The food was well presented and very tasty. Would certainly recommend.

A party of 23 ladies for afternoon tea we were treated to delicious fresh baked cakes and pastries, scones and sandwiches. A wonderful selection of teas served in individual pots and pretty china cups, on linen tablecloths. The service was excellent and the staff helpful, efficient and friendly. Special thanks to Sarah for smooth organisation. Highly recommended if you have a group to arrange for.

My friend and I pre-booked with a £5 deposit each, to eat in the restaurant which is situated within the Stratford Garden Centre. The seasonal offer was £20 for 2 courses or £25 for three. We both chose the haddock fish pie starter and I ordered the traditional turkey roast whilst she wanted the pork. We had a reserved table and even though we arrived 30 mins early, it was not a problem. The pies were served in scallop shells with a warm bread roll and they were incredibly tasty with plenty of fish and prawns in each serving. The mains arrived with vegetables served separately along with 2 small jugs of extra gravy and cranberry and apple sauces. We both remarked on the generous amount of meat on each place and both pork and turkey were succulent and tasty. The roast potatoes were actually roasted and not deep fat fried as is the norm nowadays and the vegetables were fresh and al dente. The meal came with a free coffee or tea. We also saw other diners being served the afternoon tea which looked sumptuous and plentiful We came away absolutely stuffed with delicious food and will be back in the New year for the afternoon tea.

Just had a fantastic three course Christmas Dinner. Can not fault a thing and Helen was so attentive and welcoming. Fantastic value for money and after seeing the afternoon teas coming out we will booking in for that as well. !!!

Saturday 5th November 2022, after visiting The Barn Antiques & Vintage Centre we drove about two miles up the road and went to Stratford Garden Centre, which was a really interesting place with nice gifts. When we arrived, we were in need of refreshments, so we went into their on-site cafe. The Lime Tree Cafe is very nice, and warm and with comfortable chairs and tables. It is part self-service, you look at the menu, make your choices and note your table number and the go and order your food and drinks and pay for them. A waiter or waitress when your food and drinks are ready brings them to your table. My husband and I both had a very nice afternoon cream tea with warm fruit scones, strawberry jam and Cornish clotted cream. My husband had his with a pot of tea and I had a large mug of coffee all for the bargain price of eleven pounds. Afterwards, we looked round the very good gift shop area and I purchased some Christmas cards for me and my mom. I also purchased three very nice toiletries gift sets and a children’s game as Christmas and Birthday gifts. We left here as the store was closing at six and drove back home. This is a nice place to visit if you are in the area.
