Almost 50 of us were booked for a colleague's surprise 60th birthday party. We had all pre-ordered for 7pm so we were rather surprised to be asked to check our orders when we arrived. The food took ages to come out, apparently there was only one chef which is pretty poor for a party of this size. It was tasty, but not plentiful, unless you'd ordered a main course pasta which was HUGE! Then we had a power cut so we couldn't pay. We'd sorted our table's bill and had cash so we could pay. Of course this, slap meant no desserts or coffees. Not my first choice in future for Italian food.

Our first visit to Strada (Blackheath) was a great disappointment whilst the second saw a vast improvement with both food and service and left us hoping for even greater things in the future. Unfortunately, this was not the case on our third visit - we took advantage of the £5 pizza Monday deal which did not impress. Pizzas were reasonably tasty, but not particularly substantial and seemed slimmed down versions of the norm - not much of a deal here then! Service was average and very matter of fact - no warm welcome, no smile, no interest and not even a thank you for the generous and wholly undeserved tip I very stupidly left at the end (and not even a goodbye!)So, after three visits to Strada and with only one positive outcome, it’s now time to part company with this particular establishment.

This is a clean and friendly restaurant with good and friendly staff and great food with good portions. It also does a lot of special deals and its very child friendly. I think its well situated and near to buses and trains and there is space to park at the station but that would be expensive. Its a lovely place and I have been here many times and never feel rushed. I am planning and have booked another trip here and even though its not my local area .I come here a lot as for me its a real winner. The toilets are clean but a little snug. I think the hand dryer needs a service but otherwise good.

I took my friend to Strada in Blackheath for her birthday as I've not eaten there for a while. My sea food linguine was tasteless, the sauce watery, and what was meant to be tiger prawns were in fact shrimps. The lack of mussels were tiny and probably from frozen. The dish was completely ruined by what I can only describe as soggy noodles, certainly NOT linguine pasta. My friends pasta with tomato sauce also lacked flavour. There was nothing authentic about our dishes at all. We left our feedback to the waitress to which she responded by saying she would let the chef know. I used to eat here regularly but standards have since dropped. I'am so disappointed with the food and will not be returning.

Booked a table for 7pm on the Saturday night after a facelift. They have got rid of the wonderful ceiling globes and replaced them with filament lamps! The floor still looks bad. The sea bass was crispy with good green beans and dry roast potatoes. My risotto was a bit too salty. The house rose was very good. The polenta cake was good but the lemon cheesecake would have been better with some cream.

We were surprised on entering the restaurant to find only two other tables occupied. I ordered salmon, cooked rare, which the waiter told me would not be a problem. The manager then came over and said that the chef refuses to cook it that way!! Yet no explanation was given as to why. I am used to being asked how I like salmon cooked, and indeed many restaurants serve salmon seared, therefore rare inside. I can only surmise that the food arrives at Strada already cooked. Whilst I appreciate Strada is more of a fast food chain rather than fine dining I still think they should be able to please the customer. I emailed Strada, no reply. I emailed a second time and got a very unsatisfactory response saying they take advice from an independent food consultancy that advises them not to serve salmon rare!!! Staff training is obviously required. Certainly will not visit any Strada again.

Our last visit to Strada was somewhat disappointing, although our impulse visit today indicated an improvement. Our pizzas tasted much better than expected and were of substantial size - we took advantage of the Monday pizza offer (any pizza for £5!). Service was good – the young lady who served us was bright, helpful and obliging. Vegetarian choice is reasonable, although many pizzas can be adapted to suit veggies. The House Red was passable (something called Arpeggio!) but you’d be wise to spend a bit more on something else, which we did for the second bottle. Verdict: An enjoyable lunch – unfortunately, half points cannot be given, but feel that Strada should have three and a half points on this occasion rather than just the three. We shall visit again in the hope that its improved standards are maintained. One small moan – the fabric wall seating appeared quite mucky in places, with remnants of food noted on the surface that could end up on the seat of your pants - perhaps from careless wiping of tables?

I ordered carbonara and asked them not to include the bacon as I'm a vegetarian. You've guessed it - my meal arrived with the bacon so was sent straight back. It was returned to me 2 minutes later, bacon removed, new dish and a garnish plopped on top. I find it unacceptable for someone to pick off the meat in what I had asked to be a vegetarian option. The dish should have been cooked again from scratch. There was a watery lukewarm puddle of cream in the bottom of my bowl, rather than an unctuous sauce coating the spaghetti. These guys don't know what a carbonara is, there is no cream in it! Strada Blackheath used to be so much better, they can't even get simple thing like a bowl of pasta right these days. Very disappointing. On the plus side, the staff are very helpful and efficient and the pizzas are good, great thin bases.

Restaurant chains are not really our thing – the food is over-priced and never as good as that found in family-run establishments, whilst the constantly changing workforce is often inexperienced, void of personality and clueless with regard to what’s on the menu or what entails good customer service. Strada (Blackheath) is no exception! We came on a whim (our first ever visit to a Strada branch) because our usual pizza haunt was out of action. On entering, we stood inside like lemons for a full two minutes before someone bothered to acknowledge us. We were then sat down with a couple of menus on a filthy table that was eventually cleared and prepared in front of us. On the plus side, the menu provides reasonable choice for vegetarians, although our pizzas were very average and on the small size. A bottle of Montepulciano D'Abbruzzo proved equally unremarkable – glasses were dirty and had to be replaced. Our final bill didn’t quite break the bank (about £40 for a couple of pizzas and a bottle of wine), although nothing today (including service) was particularly good – didn’t bother to leave a tip. Perhaps other Strada branches might give a more favourable impression, although I can’t be bothered to find out after today's experience. Definitely a last resort establishment - and not for the discerning diner!

Ate here on a Monday night. First time to Blackheath Strada ,unfortunately it will be the last unless improves. Had the calamari for starter, a few rings of squid then a lot of batter crumbs in the bottom of bowl, very disappointing, one of party had garlic bread with cheese, we had to call the waitress to point out where the cheese was. Florentina pizza was uninspiring and had a lot of crust compared to topping.Pasta dishes were nice and served hot.The service was ok although we had to ask several times or water, extra napkins etc.The only bonus was we had a voucher for a free bottle of prosecco due a birthday. It was very good and we purchased a second one. There are a lot of places to eat in Blackheath and Strada needs to improve to compete. I have eaten several times at Strada in Stratford Westfield and they have got it spot on all round so maybe lessons to be learned.

Although my wine was lovely and the service was good the food was a severe let down. I ordered mushroom and truffle bruschetta to start however there was no truffle to taste and the mushrooms were incredible chewy. My partner ordered the crispy squid which was essentially just batter and rubber. For our mains I had veal which had little to no taste at all and what taste it did have was poor and cheap. The carbonara was lacking in just about everything tasty and very oily. We mentioned this all to the manager and he kindly told us we were not paying for the meal which is fair. My sister and I had a very bad experience at this restaurant. First when we ordered sea bass we were told there wasn't any, so my sister ordered the burger with Tagglegio cheese and avocado dressing, the only burger option on the menu. When it arrived, there was no cheese so we queried it with the waitress who cheekily said "It was too late to change the order"! She was insistent my sister had asked for no cheese which was completely untrue (she hadn't even taken our order!), and the so-called avocado salsa consisted of 3 pieces of avocado which they charged an extra pound for! The burger itself was very burnt on the outside and dry. My seafood pasta was supposed to include tiger prawns but what was in this dish were a few little prawns hardly bigger than shrimps and about 4 mussels, plus it was bland and tasteless, no nice sauce as you usually get with this dish in proper Italian restaurants. It was so dry dull, bland and tasteless I couldn't finish it. The meals that arrived were not as described on the menu, so we felt misled and cheated. At least they had the decency to take the price of the burger off our bill, but we'll never ever go there again until there is a complete change of staff - chef especially, and the cheeky waitress has gone. A terrible meal and experience.

I went to the Blackheath branch for dinner last night with my family. Unfortunately it was probably the worst Italian meal I have had for many years. 3 of us had Pizza - every one of them was deficient in the same way - the base was tasteless, the tomato sauce was made from puree and dried herbs, the cheese and toppings were minimal, and to top it all, they arrived luke-warm. My daughter had the Caprese - even for a starter portion it had a miniscule amount of mozarella. Being a school, night I chose not to send all the food back - we didn't have the time to wait for a new order to be made. I paid the bill and told the above to the manager before we left. He didn't offer any apologies and didn't really seem to care. I am disappointed as I was a an early customer and fan of the very first Strada in Exmouth Market. What a pity you haven't managed to maintain consistent quality. By the way, if you are interested in good Italian food in Blackheath, I can recommend Bianco which is literally next door. I've never had a poor meal there and regret not sticking to it last night!

The food is okay, the pizza were a bit overly crunchy for my taste and not much to separate them from other chain offerings. A decent enough cheap'ish eat with a taste card.

Local to us and we use it for suppers with friends or instead of cooking. Like the tomato and pesto flatbread basket. It's modern Italian; you know what's on the menu but it's well presented and flavoursome. David Lloyd cards get a good discount.I find the tables too close for comfort, especially those down the edge of the room. It's a good place for families but now days we avoid weekend lunches as it gets noisy with an excess of highchairs. Shows our age no doubt!

I wanted a good night out with my wife so I called Strada and they managed to arrange a table for 2 at short notice. This was a great start. Got there, the seating arrangement is a bit crowded. We ordered calamari for starters, the wife had a salad main course. My main was the seafood risotto. Calamari starters came very quickly (2 minutes) which surprised me as cooked food shouldn't arrive so quickly. Starters a bit oily. Wife's main (salad) was ok according to her. My main (seafood risotto) was watery and nothing like a risotto . The rice was a long grain and not sticky like a risotto nor having a bit of a bite. I was disappointed with my main. Staff were attentive but the chef didn't have a good day. Got menu for desserts but no comeback from staff for 15 minutes which was a shame given the attention at getting me a table at short notice, so just requested the bill. A bit of a shame and quick end to the evening.

Italian restaurants for the family generally follow a formula and we all know what to expect. Good to see a decent risotto on offer and the pizza seemed to be cooked at an authentic high heat. Not much emphasis on the secundi platti which would be the focus in a genuine meal. Puddings especially cioccolato fondente were better rival restaurant chains. Staff helpful. Good location for Blackheath Halls show to follow

We didn't expect very much from this Strada because it is a chain. However, the food was really excellent. It felt genuinely fresh and Italian. Everything was beautifully cooked and presented. We shared a mixed starter (which possibly could have served 4!) then had different mains. My husband had pork saltimbocca and I had the sea bass. Unfortunately we were driving, so were unable to enjoy a glass of wine with it, which would have just finished it off perfectly.

Took my Mother here for lunch on her birthday. Booked online pointing out it was her birthday. 3 out of 4 mains arrived- we waited and waited then asked waiter for the 4th. He said it was on its way. Also sent back one main as it was cold. We waited. Then chased again- the re-heated and missing mains finally turned up 20 mins later! The other two had almost finished. Complained. Said disappointed. Told by waitress that she hadn't forgotten. It was the chef's fault. Food was good. On leaving I saw a new face- the manager. Told him abt our experience and that last time we had been was abt 2 years' ago when waiters were so busy chatting we weren't even seated, so left. I said either his staff hadn't told him of our experience or they had and he just couldn't be bothered to come and apologise. Either way it was unacceptable. Pointed out my Mother's birthday and really let down by the whole experience and would not return. Confirmed I would write to Strada and also review on Trip Adviser. Blackheath Strada is not worth going to- food ok, but service lets it down time and again. Why can't they get it right- have been to other Stradas and all have been good.

Very quick service, tasty food, small portions and slightly about prices for what it's worth BUT they happily accepted my promotional voucher of 'Buy one main meal, get another free' which left our bill for two mains, two sides and two drinks at £27. Amazing!! They seem to always have promotional deals online so it's definitely worth taking a look. =Very friendly male staff, one grumpy women made a remark of "Yes, you are late" when we were 20minutes late for a our reservation, but the restaurant was empty so this employee really didn't need to take a dig after we had kindly apologised! Apart from her, everything was amazing!!

Me and my boyfriend decided to go to Strada in Blackheath for our 2nd anniversary. Upon arriving we were greeted by a very welcoming host and shown to our table. We have been to Strada many times including this branch and were unaware the menu changed (for drinks and food). They seem to have removed all of their cocktails and replaced them with prosecco mixers. We were looking forward to having one of their raspberry Collins but this had been removed. I decided on a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and my boyfriend had a bottle of beer. I had the calamari and my partner had bread with olive oil and balsamic for starters. This came out within 10 minutes of our order which was lovely. For our mains I have the seafood linguini and my boyfriend had the vesuvio pizza. We both enjoyed our mains and were asked by our host how we were enjoying our food, in which we replied "amazing".The price was acceptable, however we did use a discount code via voucher cloud. We will definitely return as we had a delightful experience and would highly recommend this branch.

It was New Year's Eve and our party of 8 had to pre-order which makes it a production line rather than a culinary experience but anyhoo - if it helps the kitchen. But it didn't!!the place was about half full and still there were endless delays before every meal and always someone who's meal was forgotten and came out about 15 minutes after everyone else's. The maître d' and our waiter were pleasant but seemed overwhelmed and incapable of managing the situation by telling us they were short staffed and sorry and here's a couple if bottles of wine. Even the wine took an hour to arrive. My big spaghetti dish was good but this place needs some serious communications training!

When we inquired at the door about a table for two people, the waiter checked his bookings then promptly showed us to a free table which was fantastic!. We were asked for drinks a few minutes later and received them quickly, we ordered food shortly after. The waiter checked once-which was appropriate-if we were enjoying our food. I very much enjoyed my pasta and it was a good portioned size. We ordered desserts too as i used my Tesco Vouchers. Overall a nice experience and good food in a small restaurant with great team work from the staff.

Blackheath has a glut of Italian eateries. However, I would suggest that Blackheath is not spoilt by this glut, as some of them are highly questionable in terms of value, food standards and service. However, I would put Strada firmly on the list of Italian restaurants you can trust in. In October, I visited the restaurant on 2 occasions. Once with my son, on the other occasion with a friend. Both occasions provided prompt service, and fairly good value for money. As starters go, the antipasto for 1 represents great value and quality. The gamberoni was also executed with great quality, but just a tad expensive. On both occasions, I devoured their pizzas. The base and edges to both taut, flavoursome and crispy. The first time I visited, the Vesuvio pizza was sheer perfection. The second occasion, the carne Toscana pizza slightly bland in terms of flavour, but generous in terms of toppings. My son is 8, has Italian extraction in him on his mother's side, and has visited Italy on a few occasions. He simply loves Italian food, and is never disappointed in visiting this restaurant. Although Strada is part of a sizeable chain, their restaurants do have a sense of individuality of their own. Not a place for a romantic date I hasten to add, but a relaxed, modern eatery. Well done to Strada Blackheath for presenting an honestly priced menu and we'll staffed floor and kitchen.

It was a Friday night and we hadn't booked, but we were easily able to get a table for four, which in my mind meant the restaurant wasn't busy. So if it wasn't busy what was everyone doing? On every occasion I had to call someone over to take our drinks order, our food order, another drinks order (glasses were clearly empty) and finally to pay the bill. That said when our waiter did come to the table, he was polite, cheerful and knowledgeable about which items were or could be made gluten-free.When the food did arrive (which in fairness didn't take long), it was okay. My standard of okay means that there's nothing to complain about, but equally I won't be asking the chef for his recipe or cooking tips.As an aside, if you do fancy going to Strada, there are usually some deals going around, so use Google before you go.

Had really nice night at Strada recently. Service was friendly and the waiter took time to explain and answer any questions we had, the food tastes authentic rather than a chain that's trying to be Italian, really good quality and fair sized portions. The pesto pomodoro bread is one of the best things on the menu! for mains we had a chicken pasta dish which just has the right amount of sauce without being too sickly. Pizzas great as well. All in all I think Strada Blackheath is a good choice in a village with a high amount of other restaurants.

Every time I visit Blackheath I love to meet a few friends at Strada for an informal Italian meal. Although it's part of a chain, the food quality is relatively good and we always leave with a satisfied look on our faces. We usually start with the tasty castelvetrano olives, followed by a pizza or a plate of pasta. The fiorentina pizza is one of our favourites and suitable for vegetarians too. The Minini Primitivo is a good value far money red wine and if there's still some space left ill try one of the desserts. When Monica's there service is slways very good.

We ate here before Moby's concert and it was very average. We both have o2, so the classic pizza is only £6.95 (with priority). It's the price it deserves to be fair, not much taste, and very bland. Overall service was fine. It got better when a nice lady took over. She was quick and kind.
