Came in for a few games of pool and drinks with family great service and cold larger went down a treat my brother especially loved the morretti on here! will be back

Had a lovely meal with my family, staff were very friendly, food was out faster than we expected considering how busy it was, I enjoyed a cowboy burger and my partner had lasagne, can definitely recommend.

Visited a couple of days ago. We had a really lovely evening. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced and there was a nice atmosphere. We will definitely be visiting again!

Was extremely happy with my visit, had fantastic service from Naomi. Even when I was adamant something on the menu was called something else she had patience with me and smiled (I thought I was being silly). Also like to thank Sarah for reminding me to fill in the QR code review. Naomi deserves the credit and also Sarah for promoting the good service being recognised.

OK I guess. Very disappointed that they had run out of fish ... I was looking forward to fish and chips. We went early evening, I just can't understand why such a place could run out of fish, that has to be a staple dish (I'd have thought). Had a burger instead, a bit dry but edible. Staff pleasant and helpful, not their fault of course.

We were served by Hannah she was very tentative and welcoming we would give her 6 stars but that wasn’t an option! Overall a great experience we will be coming back!

Had a brilliant date night with my partner. We arrived and was concerned that we might not have got a table with how busy it was as it was quite late on Saturday evening, but the hostess Sarah went above and beyond to make sure that we got a table and made us feel happy and comfortable. Food was brilliant and enjoyed a few lovely cocktails.

All good no complaints other than dirty chairs.

Terrible customer service & awful food - took over an hour for a sandwich, which wasn't edible when it finally arrived - will definitely not be going there again.

Food was lovely. Went for a quiet lunch. Left after families came in. But a great place to go for a good meal.

Average food( if they have any of what you want), expensive drinks, indifferent staff.. if there was somewhere else similar close round here I'd go there instead. I'm a local of more than 20 years.

Our server Sarah was lovely and provided us with everything we needed. The food came within a reasonable amount of time even though they were busy. My only complaint was the chase and potatoes pie o ordered didn't really have much filling and the music was a little loud for me.

Been here quite a few times as friends live near here. Easy to book at short notice and service is always good. They are always willing to swap food ie peas to bean’s ect. Puddings are ok but I’m not bothered maybe more choice or changing puds on menu would be good. We have been here with a group of 5 - 12 people, every time the mood is different, maybe soft calming music to drown out others talking would be good.

It was quite slow getting the food and drinks but the quality was good. Had booked a table as a romantic evening but sat in the kids section unfortunately so we were very close to a crying baby but it was busy there

We left after about 10 minutes. We were given a table number to sit down at and on approaching the table another member of staff tried to tell us not to sit down when we explained the table number had been given the number by the manager he went into meltdown. Then even though we had pre-booked a table, there was almost an hour's waiting for food. There were also unusual things happening in the gents toilets. Why grown men were in there lurking with young boys I have no idea.

We have been visiting the stonemasons for years now, but our last visit we were absolutely disgusted with the cleanliness of the place, the food was fine but the tables were sticky, the seats were stained, the door to the toilets was so dirty you didn't want to touch it and the toilets weren't much better, a mice had been chewing under the bench seat by the door, when we pointed it out to the waitress she just shrugged.

We pre-booked our table, when we arrived, it was fairly busy, the barman came up to us almost immediately, which was nice and welcoming. The table we sat at was very sticky.on our previous visit ,it was the same. So staff need to clean the tables throughly. Our meal took awhile to arrive, though. It was hot and very nice. We did sit there for sometime afterwards and no one cleared our plates away. Overall though we enjoyed it

We visit because we get value for money and Nicky is always so pleasant and helpful. Food is good quality

Reece was very friendly serving us at the till. Sarah delivered our food sooner than expected. Tom cooked some superb burgers. We sat outside and it was so relaxing and the scenery was beautiful 😍

That was my second visit. I was with my friends. Two of us ordered fish and chips. Fish served for me was so crispy that couldn't find and juicy bits in it. What a disappointed. Our table didn't have all the dishes in similar time. I can understand that because there was lots of customers. One of my friend after while finally got her fish and chips. It was totally different! Nice, thick piece of cod.

Wow, I had gone off this place for a while but we went back tonight and the food was delicious. The kids wolfed down their pizzas. The steak on the mixed grill and surf and turf was a great piece of meat and cooked exactly as asked. Mac and cheese was delicious, as were the garlic bread, onion rings and breaded mushrooms. Sarah, our server went above and beyond and nothing was too much trouble for her, even though the place was heaving. The only negative was that they had run out of bbq chicken wings. Hence the 4* for food. I hope this standard continues as we really did have a lovely meal with great service.

Being part of a Marstons franchise, I thought this place would be a good place to go with the family at the start of the summer holidays. Upon arrival, you could clearly see that the place was understaffed, no order in getting tables cleaned, and wiped down ready for new guests to sit down and look at the menu, we got told to find any table and sit down but didn't get told there was specific tables that was reserved. Didn't get told there was no mixed grill something about they had all the other steaks but no mixed grill steaks 🤔, with that being told as i was at the bar ordering a queue was forming so i rushed my decision. The food was OK but not great, quiet small portions. The burger in the picture was supposed to be a cowboy burger, I mean, depending on what context you're using, the phrase "cowboy" I guess it lives upto it's name. Chairs and other seating were dirty, ripped, and not well looked after. All around, the skirting was chipped off paint, and the toilets were disgusting. This is the kind of place you'd go for a few cheap pre drinks before going out, but I don't think I'd return again for food

ABBA night was great, great food and music. Many thanks to Sarah, nick, hannah and Amy for working so hard. Will definitely be back soon.

As a group of friends we went to have food and watch Abba Ice, an Abba tribute band. They were absolutely amazing. Not only did they sing Abba but they sang other artists songs too all with added humour. The ladies were sensational, they really entertained us. I would highly recommend them.

Just had the Sunday roast would recommend it. Thank you Nicholas and Kerry.

First time in Ilminster Marston's pub and I had a kids size stone baked pizza called The little Piggy well of course I have to have pineapple 😁. My partner brought me here as he said that he always gets a perfect rare medium steak meal & pint on his work overnight shift. I have to say that 4 of the female staff fell in love with our dog Skye and he was in his element as he was given treats by all of the them. Couldn't have asked for a more welcoming evening here. Thank you for making myself and our Skye very welcome .

Laura was amazingly accommodating. We had a large party and a dog thrown in. She sorted it all out for us - great service.

Very bad 😞, semi final football and no kitchen is working, a lot of people were hungry 🤯 and disappointed. Everywhere is dirty and all tables were not cleaned for ages 😭. Wish you to improve your attitude to people 👿

My son brought me for a early mother's day dinner and every thing we had was good the only thing was we pre ordered the deserts but they must have got forgotten as 20 mins after finishing our mains we still had not got them so I had to remind them and it then came pretty quick .

Bit shabby around the edges and the staff seem overstretched. Ordered a “sharer” but the portion size was minuscule. It amazes me why places try and scrimp and save money in all the wrong places - just makes you feel like you’re being taken for a ride. Won’t be returning.

No chips available and the sirloin steak was very tough.

Great place to visit. Always managed to get a table but it's best to book in advance for the weekend. Very popular pub in Ilminster. Small children's park, snooker table and darts board. Good selection of tasty food available but mostly frozen quick cook meals, but have blue light so it makes the price good value.

Warm welcome when entering the pub, shown to table straight away, table was set with menus even a NCGI menu for myself, easy to order and didn’t have to wait long, food was amazing as ever

Laura was a wonderful waitress and even paid extra attention to our children, which was wonderful.

I loved the service from Laura and how nice Amy was behind bar. She made no mistakes and was super nice to everyone. The only downside was how load it was but it's not their fault that it was crouded. I would 10 out of 10 recommed it to everyone.

We visited The Stonemasons this evening for my sons 30th. We expected it to be busy as it was Euros and father's day weekend, but it was nice and quiet. We were greeted by Harriet who was friendly and welcoming and she told us where we had been seated. We tried using the app to order but couldn't as it said there was food unavailable that we wanted. When ordering at the bar it was just there were no chips available to go with the fish but fries were available. Seems unusual for a place to run out of chips especially as most of the meals come with fries. When the food arrived it was nice and hot and the fish was a big size. My youngest son had the spicy burger and said he was a little disappointed as he was expecting more spice other than just from the jalapeños. My eldest had the mixed grill and had asked for the steak to be rare. Unfortunately it was closer to the well done stage. They both had ordered extra onion rings which were slightly over cooked and one order was not sent out ,but was soon rectified by the staff with no problems. Other than that the food was tasty and the puddings were lovely.

Had a delicious meal this eve. Chicken wings, breaded mushrooms and the most amazing cauliflower wings, so good I ordered two more portions to take home for my husband! Then lasagne and chicken burger. All fantastic. Great service from India and Kerry. Fab!

Like it a lot here and great little play area and outdoor seating. Staff have always been very accommodating

Useful pitstop on the A303 side of Ilminster, having failed to fathom how to negotiate or park in a town with a road system that must deter all but the most persistent visitors. It's a smartened up community pub with easy parking, a proper pizza oven and good value chain pub menu. Service was friendly and speedy. A better bet than the few overpriced offerings on the A303 thereabouts on the long sometimes stop start haul to and from the southwest.

We had friends from out of the area with us for lunch. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, we felt welcomed, comfortable and looked after! The girls were friendly and efficient. We sat and enjoyed our drinks at a nice table in the window before our food arrived. The food and plates were hot and the food was excellent! We really must come more often. It was nice and easy to book a table on line too! Thank you for a very enjoyable lunch time.

Solid pub meal and decent pint. Busy pun added to atmosphere. Busy bar which meant a slight wait... but we want to see pubs like this!

Both myself and my partner have become regular customers of The Stonemasons as it is a fantastic Marstons pub and restaurant, it's well managed, very clean and well presented outside and inside as always. We are always extremely impressed with all the meals we order as these are always very well presented, top quality and really great value for money and a good quantity. The meals are always served by very attentive, cheerful and polite waiter/waitress, We have returned many times and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future and would definitely bring family and friends. A VERY THANK YOU AND WELL DONE TO THE MANAGEMENT, CHEF WAITER AND WAITRESS but especially NICKY who we see during most of our visits and she always goes out of her to make sure everything is spot on and is as a pleasurable experience as the very first time we paid a visit. MANY THANKS NICKY FOR MAKING ALL OUR VISITS SO VERY SPECIAL AND FOR BEING SUCH A LOVELY PERSON.

Great meal as always. Served piping hot. Dog friendly. Shame that the cod was not available again. 50% of the time either the fryer is out of service or no cod on the menu. Huge shame as its outstanding!
