We stopped here for something to eat. The staff were great. The food was lovely. But the place was a bit dirty. Food all over the floor, and sticky tables

As always, staff are friendly and helpful at the most busiest of times as well as the quiet times.

Food very good. Their steaks are cooked perfectly. I like it flared - burnt on outside & red in the middle and they do it beautifully for me. Pies are really tasty as all the food I have had there. They post great meal deals & I can't fault them. Great service, value, location and parking

Amazing meal. The food was hot and tasty. The mint sauce with onion bajis was so refreshing. The extra onion rings are a must with any steak or burger. The service is awesome. Naomi is so polite and helpful. A great asset to the company. Higher management matterial definitely.

Whilst on a work trip for a week in April 2025, I ate twice at The Stonemasons in Ilminster, both times is was superb 👍🍔🍨 On the Tuesday 22nd April 2025, I had a delicious Cow Boy Burger with a side of Halloumi Fries and an Orange J2O 😋. The service was exceptional and it was a very nice experience. So 2 days late, I returned and had the same meal, along with having the Dark Chocolate and Mint Tart, this desert was out of this world 🤩. I did get 4 big blobs of chocolate sauce on my plate which (was more than I was expecting) but it was all delicious. The 3 different female bar staff were a breath of fresh air, serving myself and all other patrons with the upmost professionalism. I would highly recommend this pub to anyone in the wanting a good evening meal and atmosphere, and when I’m next in the area, I will be eating there once more.

So disappointed on Friday. Husband ordered Hunters chicken. Bacon on the top to crispy and tasteless. Chicken tough.Have been there many times before. But never had to write a bad review

The team were very helpful as we have a member of the family who has recently become gluten free - having the separate menu available made it much more pleasant for them rather than trying to figure out what might be suitable. Thank you.

Perfect food atmosphere and friendly helpful staff

Booked a table and went in. They only had a high table free which with a 6 year old isn’t great. Went to order on the app but the system was down. Ordered at the bar and then had to wait 50 mins for the food, it wasn’t a lot. The kids mean came out and the beans were crispy so asked for another portion, the waitress wanted to take the whole plate back but as we waited so long we just asked for another portion of beans. The pizza I had was also very small and also a bit underdone. Also because it was so slow they lost out on desserts. Not often you go somewhere and leave hungry.

Absolutely loved it ! Loved the atmosphere, loved the food and especially loved the service. Very welcoming . Definitely returning .

Really nice overall, just be warned they have a new policy in place where dogs aren’t allowed in the entire restaurant when it’s busy despite it stating that they can on the website. We also booked a Mother’s Day meal for 2 and by that point there wasn’t much vegetarian option

We ordered food for 13 people at 1pm, didn't get our food until around 2.30pm. No explanation as to why, pub wasn't overly busy. The hunters chicken, had no sauce as they had run out of the bbq sauce, chicken was overcooked and looked like it had been hanging around for 30 minutes. Rest of the meals were not piping hot, and I would be lying if I said they were warm at best. Pizza's weren't hot, some chips were warm and some were cold. The staff were fairly helpful and offered us a round of drinks or puddings on the house. Even though the puddings were complimentary they were also cold, the jam pudding was cold when should of been piping hot, also looked like a microwave one. Chocolate fudge cake was that cold that the chocolate had gone hard. Would not recommend eating here unless you have 5 hours free to eat, or if you like hot food. We won't be coming back anytime soon.

Very reasonably priced for standard pub grub and the staff were very friendly. Ours was a party of 6, on Mothering Sunday, and the order came out quick enough and all together. Dropped a star on service because an item was missed of a mixed grill, they overlooked that we had paid a deposit and some menu items weren't available. Could understand the latter if we had sat down late in the day but our table was booked for 1.15pm?

Extremely helpful and welcoming staff in a very busy Thursday night, which was welcome after a 100 mile drive. Large parking area convenient to the pub. Although the sirloin steak had already been sold out because of demand on this offer, the licencee made the effort to sort out another option and after a short wait, a very agreeable and tasty meal was served by a friendly staff member. The quality of food and service was checked after a short interval and it was good to see the interest shown in customers by management. We were very satisfied with our welcome, service and food and decided to book another meal for our next visit!

Myself and a couple of friends come here after baby sensory class with our babies for a catch up and lunch. We like being able to order via the app as it’s so much easier when you have babies, the service is fast, the food is good and the staff are friendly.

We were a very large group with many children and they looked after us very well. All of our food came out together and we had no problems. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to our large party.

Visited the stonemasons today for lunch, it was a great service I was served by Naomi she produced a great atmosphere and made sure we had everything we needed. Naomi is always happy to help whenever you need.

Worst meal I have ever had don't no weather I will come back

We enjoyed our meals , one had Scampi, one had mixed grill & I had curry. All nicely cooked. The lady manager on duty was very organised polite & helpful. I left something on the table & she brought it out to the car park for me I appreciated that. The waitress was also polite & helpful. There was a lot of people eating there but it was not noisy . An enjoyable lunch. Thank you to everyone.

Great value for money and Nicky and her colleagues are always so pleasant and helpful, and that’s why we are regular visitors. Keep up the great work and thank you for looking after us so well.

Gone downhill so much! The app doesn't show hardly anything that's available so have to queue for 15 mins to order. 1 steak was 3/4 gristle and very bland tasting. Rare steak was overdone Chilli was awful and had no taste or spice at all. Half the bits that were supposed to come with the steak wasn't available. No pizza's available. Ran out of tall dessert glasses so we were given small ones but still charged the same as a large. Previously run out of a couple of spirits and the coffee machine hasn't been working for weeks now. Surely in these instances a quick trip to tesco nearby to stock up and the purchase of a kettle and jar of coffee would make a massive difference. AIr conditioning on inside when it's freezing outside so rather than coming into a warm place you stayed cold all night!

A really nice local place to dine in with a good choic of meals to choose from. I like Marstons, they are better than some food chains and ilminster is one of the better ones. Staff are always pleasant, and any issues get resolved with no problems

Staff lovely, food was tiny portion for price and had to send partners back as the pie was so hard you couldn’t cut it. Yet another overpriced pub I got a better meal at whetherspoons and half the price.

A general chain pub with average food. Nothing great, nothing bad. Service took a lot longer than expected. The staff were very helpful and friendly, it was a bit expensive for what it was. I'd put the food on par with a Weatherspoons although a bit more expensive.

Had a good meal today. Only 3 staff on, who worked hard to keep up. I was given some free potatoes to try while I waited ✋️

We visited last nite for my birthday there was 9 of us we waited over a hour for our food and when it finally did come we were disappointed not good at all the only nice thing was the lady behind the bar called Sarah what a lovely lady

Having had a few bad experiences in the past we decided to give the Stonemasons another go. I have to say that my food was over cooked and did not come out hot. I ordered the ultimate spicy burger. The burgers were over cooked and really dry, the bun had been grilled for too long and was hard and my fries were warm at best. I'm not sure how a simple burger can be cooked so wrong. To be fair, my wife's steak was perfect, along with a jacked potato- so thumbs up for that. The restaurant only had about 4 tables in each with only 2 people.

Although the food was lovely I had the Wednesday curry deal vegetarian tia curry My husband had the Tika curry He had poppadoms and naan bread I did not get the extras on my vegetarian meal I felt cheated! The price is the same I was still hungry! I did ask why I didn’t get the extras apparently it doesn’t come with the vegetarian option! Very odd ! I don’t understand why ?

The loo was in a poor state and had water all over the floor The sweet potato fries and Cauliflower wings were cold and full of oil Jacket potato was cold and they'd forgotten to put the cheese on But the staff were lovely. I suppose you get what you pay for :-(

I booked a large party for my mums birthday. From start to finish the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Everyone enjoyed their food and it all came out at the same time. I was particularly pleased that we were able to decorate the table and bring a cake. The team brought the cake out with a candle at the end of the meal. My mum had a wonderful time, thank you for helping it to happen.

Food and service was excellent but chairs were all extremely stained which made sitting extremely distasteful. Time they were either cleaned or upgraded.

This is a great place to take our granddaughters. They like the food and the toy machines especially the crane machine which everyone wins a small toy. Our smallest person of two years loves their pizza made by Duain, there is never any left and won't share hahaha. The Sundays are a big treat for us all. If you have grandchildren take them here, staff are always helpful and bring colouring paper and pencils

I had the lunch time atlantic cod, chips and mushy peas. It was all cooked to perfection and the most delicious fish I have tasted.

Staff were very friendly. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Would recommend.

Visited on a Sunday, had quite a wait for our meals but the staff were very apologetic and gave us an extra discount (on top of the Blue Light discount) to make up for it, very generous of them. Could do with a few more accessible parking spaces. Food and drink was fine and the price was very good for the quality. 15 people had a very enjoyable lunch, thank you very much.

Brought the family in tonight to celebrate an anniversary with us, the masons is our local and honestly, they absolutely smashed it tonight. The meals were delicious, especially the steaks, they were cooked perfectly. All of it was served with a smile in a lovely friendly atmosphere. Thanks so much for a lovely evening.
