This is for sure the best in town! The new chicken that you’ve brought to the shop needs to stay for good!! The chips taste fresh and amazing

Waited 3 hours and food never arrived

First of all, I had no choice of either; dine in or takeaway I got told that I just had to go. I did in fact ask why but she just simply gave me bland/blunt answer “you have to be 20 to eat here”. I just thought it was quite rude of her? It was a lady that was serving me and my friend I told her what I wanted. I said ‘can I have 3 wings and chips meal please’ she said yes yes let me pay card and yet at her she didn’t serve my friend yes when you can clearly see her waiting with money in her hand next to me, she just does something else. She was giving me my order ad I was meant to go out quickly but I said to her (are you going to sever my friend’ then she said to my friend ‘now you just realised you want to order!’I came to the shop directly so I could have a nice warm time with the great food but instead I had to go back out to the cold walk to a near ‘nice’ place and my food got cold. They also have no reason to not let me sit in the shop or others under 20! In my opinion , this should be checked out.

We had to wait 45 mins even after we got msg food is ready

Wings good. Chips crispy very good. Burger. Felt the same as getting the shower with socks on. Drowned soggy. 3 drinks, nice and cold.

The treatment is not good and they are liars. They put up offers and do not cook them. I advise anyone not to go to this dirty place.

Which I order and they put some offer and they tell us 30 minutes after 30 minutes they say we’re not sure if you can cook it for you and the food is was not good at all. The surface was really rude with us.

Part of our order didnt turn up. When i tried to phone the restaurant to solve the issue there was no answer.

restaurant did not follow instructions on order asked for burger sauce instead of chill but got chill and wrap just fell apart as not wrapped properly

The guy at the till is an absolute moron, he is rude and has no sense of customer service. It’s such a shame as this place has a lot of potential. The guys in the kitchen are amazing they are doing their best. But this fool really has let the whole place down. Food is decent as-well. I really hope the owners see’s this. The idiot was working today (23/06/24) was there around 9.

Food is not nice like it used to be won’t be ordering here anymore

Ordered this by phone, was told to be there in 10 minutes or it will be cold, Was there in 10 minutes,it wasn't ready numerous delivery drivers were passing, From different delivery companies, I ordered through the company's phone line.. to be pushed to the back of the que.. 1 HOUR of standing there waiting for some chips to be cooked is ridiculous!!? I get they dont cook the chips until your there but blimey, worse customer service Never use this company out of principle 👍🏼

I have to say the food from here is truly amazing! I spent £10 and had the peri perri box 2. I had a grilled chicken burger (it does get messy but it’s so worth it) and it was so tender & juicy, the flavour was hot along with my chicken wings. I had a mild sauce to dip my fries into and I could not fault the taste and quality of this food. Well done to the chief 👏

way too spicy. couldnt eat it as too spicy. Shame as looked good and we have eaten from you before and it’s been lovely but this time tastes as tho too much chilli sauce on kebabs

I had food delivered from here once and it was lovely and I mean really nice and fresh for a good price but then they went and done it! I chose to order tonight there again tonight as I work late and had to do overtime, placed my order at 10pm and all accepted and booked for there last delivery time slot they offered, get home and wait foe my meal to then get a cancellation message sent at there closing time. Too late to order elsewhere and now nothing to eat after a very long and busy day at work. I have had this from Mc Donald's, OMG desserts and Pepe's all of which I now refuse to order from, I can deal with late, early or something slightly wrong with my order but when I order 2 hours ahead and get left hungry for the night with no reason I just cant accept that kind of service.

One of my friends' opinion was that the service was rubbish and the staff had no manners. My view: Smokies Grill is an okay place to eat, however staff seemed to prioritise the online orders over the eat in orders when preparing and serving the food. This was also the opinion of other people coming in and joining the queue behind us who seemed to be regulars. For my friends and I, it was our first time eating there and we were left quite disappointed. The food was good when it finally arrived, but we were told there was a backlog of orders that needed to be cleared before new orders could be taken and so we all ended up eating at different times. One of my friends was just receiving her food after we all finished eating and, by then, she had shared someone else's so didn't even feel like eating her own! For a venue with seating for 50 people, my friends and I expected a better and faster service. Sadly, I don't think Smokies can cope under pressure and would be better off doing away with some of the seating area and installing a customer toilet and bins instead. Hopefully our next visit will be better and a lot less stressful for both us customers and the staff!

The delivery had missing items.

Shop looks a lot better then the other around. Ask them for fillet flame burger which they advertise out there window, but they don’t offer them in this branch staff said. Disappointed should be removed form the menu. Got 5 star food and hygiene rating form the local council. Food was fresh and service was good.

collection time was 11:25, when I arrived at the restaurant I waited another 20 minutes.

The best chicken shop in Basildon, honestly better than Nandos! Price/quality excellent

Very bad service. Was waiting literally for 75 mins just for a chicken. When asked the staff the pretend to know nothing about the order. And asked to wait for 10 mins and it was still another 25 mins. Not even any did apologise for the delay. Also food safety has been overlooked, I doubt the brushes used to paste the sauces are even food Safe as they look like normal bristle brushes.

so disappointed, I never got my order and no refund as of yet, no call from the driver to ask for directions and couldn't get through vie phone to the restaurant. never ordering from here again as I've had to pay for food that was delivered to someone else hope they enjoyed it 😡

I have ordered 2 hours ago and still there is no sign of the food. Tried to call them multiple times, no one is picking up. In the end, I had to order from somewhere else and had to eat in middle of my work as my lunch break was finished, I am still waiting for the food as of now. Seems like they just charged me and vanished

I ordered my food and arrived over an hour late after ringing the restaurant twice once telling me it will be there in 10 minutes and to keep a look out for them 25 minutes later no food so ring them again and the food was still being cooked when it arrived it was hardly warm and cost double the price than it would in store along with a service charge and also delivery charge on top very upset with this order and will be going elsewhere from now on and not happy with the service from just eat to

Good prices. The menu is a bit limited. Needs a bit of a deep clean in the seating area.

Got the best Wings in Basildon as far as Chicken Shops are concerned, banging value for money too, chef is passionate about his craft it seems and if all you care about is good chicken, this is the place to be.

The food took over an hour to arrive, meaning the chips was cold and the rice. Also it gave me no options to put about my allergies and the chicken wrap had onions in(which gave me no option to choose) and I’m allergic to onions therefore I couldn’t eat the food. I would like a refund

Ordered at 19:50, there was no courier until 20:40, then the app was telling me that the courier was at the restaurant for about 15-20 minutes. I thought this was odd so I called the restaurant at 21:17 to confirm what was happening. They claimed that the courier had not been seen yet and that I was to call back in 20 minutes. I did this and the food was picked up at around 21:25 and delivered over a full hour later than originally scheduled at 21:34. Really disappointing service.

I haven’t received it the driver called me and said he was at a different location to where I was at so I apologised and told him where I was and he said ok I’ll drive there now as it was only around the corner. I did not receive my order

Just been waiting for the food, driver was showing on the app as being here for 5 minutes, probably couldn’t find the hose somehow then it went to delivered, I’ve had no food so I’m guessing he couldn’t find me and marked it as delivered. Absolute joke

Amazing place to have lunch with friends and family. The staff is really nice and the cook’s grilled food is mouth watering.

Great value for money, I had the peri peri chicken strips nice chicken great flavour great value.

Went in for lunch with a friend & food was absolutely amazing, the chicken melted in your mouth & fries were really lovely too. Will be going there again & highly recommend it. Very clean in there & staff very polite & friendly.

As always, the chicken is nice, fresh and hot. The rice being microwaved is not the best and I would prefer boiled rice.

The food always takes a long time to arrive, but when a chicken burger takes that long and is still pink its a worry. To then send it back and they just cook the same piece of chicken until its too dry to eat is not good. Not the first bad experience with the food here. Thought we would give it a chance but no more.

Have been twice so far had 2 piece chicken and chips and honestly the chicken was so juicy made us go back a second time.. Then we decided on the mixed kebab again absolutely beautiful so juicy so fresh only I would change the pitta (I don't eat bread) but my other half loved filled us up we shared good portion.. Tomorrow will be third time and try something different

My food didn’t arrive. Appears my driver stole it. Rang the restaurant only to be told I had to take it up with just eat themselves and they wouldn’t resend my food. So overall pretty great!

Taste was good but staff especially the girls on the roll must have better listening and understanding experience ( customers services) , their English is basically very poor so they should not attend the phone calls at least

Great value for money and my personal favourite is the doner wrap, tastes amazing and also looks like a burrito. Good open spaced restaurant and clean, well lit up for dinning indoors. Take away has always been an option for me with this place and I’ll always come back. Service is good, quick and you get everything you asked for!

Food was cold. Service was awful the woman and the manager on the phone were awful left things off of order when asked to rectify was told they can't send a driver out to the deliver TWO missing items. And to take it up with just eat. I wouldn't bother to order from here use the British fried chicken at Laindon train station or Wingos. Wouldn't even order a can of drink from here because it probably wouldn't arrive anyway.

Ordered 2x half chicken. Restaurant delivered one order with a piece of chicken leg and 5 wings, and another order of one chicken breast and 5 wings. This is not half a chicken....the restaurant is basically cheating its customers by advertising half a chicken but selling one chicken piece with a few wings thrown in. Disgusting, will not order again.

1st time user ....just fancied a kebab and chips , what i got is a box full of dry overcooked tasteless meat , and a thing that looked like a cardboard frisbee which also tasted like cardboard which i am assuming was supposed to be a pitta 2 boxes of luke warm chips and salad which i didnt order only onions and chilli peppers which i didnt get .2 nice cans of pepsi though ....

Absolutely disgusting. Bad service took 30 minuites to come for the results of a mouldy burger. Then asked if we wanted another one. The food was cold when it come. I’m not surprised if I get food poisoning also due to the fact that I am pregnant. This is not acceptable!
