Stobys fish and chips in Hillingdon

Ordered Take Away's from Stobys Fish and Chips many times in the past and have been happy with their food and have always recommended them. BUT I ordered a Take Away from them today for my family. We all had pie and chips, well the tops of the pies (advertised as Pukka pies) were very hard and the chips were overcooked. I also ordered a small sausage as a treat for my dog. I will no longer order a Take Away from them or recommend Stobys to anyone. The only positive, my dog enjoyed his sausage but then he will eat anything.

Cancelled order after waiting for an hour on UberEats. No response when I tried calling. Very unprofessional.

Not a good first impression I ordered via Uber eats, this place canceled the order 25 minutes later what a joke, I ordered kebabs and chips. It was such a simple order that they could not do. Or shall I say be bothered called up Uber eats and they said it the place that has canceled the order. This place is a joke

Stobys had a good reputation and its fish and chips flavor and quality was good...until my latest 3 visits...ordered battered sausage and chips which was good...next ordered cod and chips which was bland and tasteless, chips were ok but fish was not crispy but had soft undercooked batter... Also ordered plaice and chips at later date..I asked for well done fish and to make it crispy Plaice was crispy but tasteless and was probably frozen for a while before cooking.. Prices are ok and service is good but cooking fish needs to be improved and batter needs seasoning.....

No answer on the phone just rings out, food never arrived despite being told it had already been delivered

AVOID! Staff are liars - terrible & rude service Estimated delivery initially an hour ago. No updates. Calked store multiple times. Told order was 5 mins away. Phoned 25 mins later told the same and driver stuck in traffic. There is no traffic. It’s gone 8PM. There is a thing called Google maps that would show traffic. Now no one picking up phone. So on way to purchase fish n chip in person elsewhere. This is not first time had terrible service from this place but was in a rush ordering. AVOID.

Hi, grabbed a quick takeout from here on Wednesday 13/10/21, got 2 chicken pies, Small Chips, a cod, one large sausage and two battered sausages. £19. The Chips were ok, as they were still hot. But the chicken pies were not nice. Mostly the filling was just mushy glupe. No chicken and a few bits of tiny mushroom. I didn't eat the fish, so can't comment on it, I have had the donor meat from here before, and it's not nice, to greasy .

we ordered cod and chips , the chips were uncooked , fish was average , how hard is it to cook chps ? even the dog would not eat it

Awful, I ordered our food from Stoby’s expecting a lovely meal for my 3 children and Myself. We ended up with a small piece of cold soggy fish, cold soggy chips with rubbery cheese on the top and the most revolting soggy spring rolls. The three sausages were missing from our order which is probably a blessing in disguise. All ended up in the dog bowl. So so so disappointed. What happened to you Stoby?

Ordered last night through Just eat. Order was supposed to be delivered by 19:25. At 19:45 it hadn’t arrived so they changed the delivery time to 20:05. The order never arrived. Throughout this I tried to call them but they did not answer the phone. This morning I get a message from Just Eat saying that Story’s have claimed my order was delivered! Please think twice before ordering from them online.

had cod and chips for the first time lunch time today stobys hillingdon as father had fish and chip shop extremly critical but it couldnt have been beaten the fish lovely white very generous size and chips as should be well done stobys hillingdon excellent will get back your way for another lovely meal

ordered here last night ,Cod and chipos were a good size fish was a bit soggy but chips were nice . Chicken wings were cooked to order and tasted nice

I was not very happy about the food. The chips were cold and hard. It's as if the chips were cooked a few days ago , put inside a fridge for a week or 2 and then taken out and dumped in a hot & smelly fryer. I asked for halal Sausages but was given pork instead. And the service was very slow and the guy with the ha t at the back of the kitchen who did the cooking came across as rude.

Busy local fish n chips shop and you can see why as the fish is always fresh and portions sizes are very good. Has become a favourite of ours for sure :)

We ordered via ‘just eat’ as we had friends over. we had heard this Fish and chip was very good. However- once ordering we waited and waited then received a txt message saying the Restaurant had cancelled our order due to being too busy. Very sad we didn’t get the opportunity to try their food.

This is my first choice for Fish & chips in the local area. Never been disappointed. There are a couple of tables in the shop which you can eat ate if you wish from the paper wrapped food for no additional cost. You are requested to self clear.The chip portions are huge, enough to share I find. The also sell kebabs which I’ve never tried. Home delivery also available, also not tried.

I have been to this place many times over the years and the new owners seem to have got it right. It’s not a diner, more of a takeaway but you would have to travel far to get better chips. Like Jacks in Uxbridge they appear to cook them fresh not pre and then recooked for speed. There are a couple of tables to wait or eat at and a nice touch is the list of fish jokes on the wall. I haven’t tried the kebabs or other items yet but perhaps I should. They have a charity box for your loose change so please use it when you go.

If you’re wondering if this place is worth ordering from, it definitely is! the food is always fresh,warm and most importantly delicious! they have never got a order wrong and I order from them all the time. Thank you for being so amazing.highly recommend Stobys’s
