Food was lovely and good sized portions but the service was very very slow and a one course meal took nearly an hour to arrive...it wasn't busy.

**Appalling Food and Service at Beefeater, Stirling City Centre** Our recent visit to Beefeater in Stirling City Centre was a disappointing experience from start to finish. Despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, it was evidently short-staffed, which likely contributed to the poor service we received. Upon arrival, we were greeted and seated promptly, but then waited quite some time to place our order. The restaurant only had one glossy printed menu held by the server, while the tables were furnished with homemade printed sheets in polypockets. These makeshift menus lacked the detail of the real menus, adding to the overall disorganization. When we ordered our food and drinks, we were immediately informed that there was only one fish left. Although this wasn’t a problem and we chose alternatives, the server's manner was less than accommodating. When our drinks arrived, the Aperol spritz we ordered looked like orange pond water. The server suggested we try them and return them if they were no good, indicating that he couldn't make the drinks correctly with the ingredients available. This was an alarming sign of what was to come. The food itself was another letdown. The chicken burgers were overcooked to the point of being burnt, living up to the "double crunch" description in the worst way possible: breaded and burnt. Additionally, we all ordered chunky chips but were served French fries instead, and only then were we told they were out of chunky chips. This lack of communication was frustrating; had we been informed beforehand, we might have chosen to dine elsewhere. Despite the waiter’s apology, the entire experience was regrettable and would have been better avoided altogether. If you value good food and service, steer clear of this Beefeater. Group of five, all sharing this view. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Three adults, a mixed grill, a chicken and ribs plus’s a steak. Two kitskat sundaes. This is a beefeater, I ordered a steak sampler - sorry we don’t have any rump so can’t do that, ok I’ll have a ribeye sorry we don’t have any, I’ll have a sirloin then. We were also told they don’t have chips, we were asked if are fries ok, we said yes, albeit all were served with the unavailable chips? Two meals were good, guess which one wasn’t, yes the sirloin, it had some gristly bits running through it, not visible from the face of the steak, unfortunate, the like warm chips on one meal, yes the sirloin. The two sundaes were reportedly good. My experience is that most beefeaters in most places have been good for the price steak meals - most of the time, but this wasn’t. Maybe the near empty restaurant at 5:30 should have given us a clue.

I was in the other week with my mother. The waitor got both our dinners wrong which is easily done, however when we told him he became angry with us. He dropped my plate back down on the table in a way that my burger fell apart all over the plate. I then asked if the apple pie had cinnamon and he said he didn't know. I asked if he could ask and he said "No, we've chucked out the boxes so." I'm not sure if he had an imaginary vendetta against me but it felt like it. Food was so-so, not good enough to go back again.

Getting to our table, we saw some of the meats on other people's plates, and decided against ordering steak. The meats looked overcooked and bland. The starters that we ordered were good; in particular I can recommend the chicken wings. The veggie lasagna was okay, the beef lasagna was overcooked and had lost all its consistency.

We headed back to car and headed up town to eat.....on returning for the film at 7.45pm the place looked even quieter than earlier....if their two big tables arrived the people to sit at them had not!!!...i know you can book a table but nowhere did it say you MUST....that place was less than half full......would have been my first visit..certainly going to be my only one.

3hrs free parking, and you'll need it. This has to be THE SLOWEST SERVING restaurant in Stirling. 50 minutes from ordering before our burgers arrived, yes burgers! There was around 13/15 chips on each plate with a bit of coleslaw. Dessert wasn't as bad BUT you wouldn't want to go here for a quick meal, it took us 2hrs and 35minutes all in and that was leaving after finishing dessert (after paying my bill I'll add) That being said, the entrance to the place is good, flat, wide doors. It's illuminated with ambient lighting so if your of poorer vision be aware of this and if you have a bad chest/lungs also be aware of the smoke within the area as it's quite catching at first, albeit the aroma is lovely, which is a shame that you have to wait so long to receive your order. There are disabled toilets on the same level however the general toilets are both upstairs, again he aware of this when there are young, old and frail in your company. Make you're own mind up, I visited when it first ever opened and I was not impressed one bit, I've been back after years and nothing has changed. It's a big NO from me.

The food was good and importantly, it was warm inside. I would like to mention Scott (I'm sure that's his name, tall guy, styled hair and tattoos) as he was really funny, made sure we had everything we needed without asking 20 questions, he just knew, even though it was busy he took time to talk and didn't make us feel like he was rushed even though he was all over the place at 100mph. Food, service, parking, everything was great. Only downside was the seats, they were all torn and messed up.

Unsure why main courses were placed on serving area before starters were served. Mains sat for over 40 minutes getting baked and dried - 5 roast turkey dinners with dry and curled turkey. Veg was rock hard and the coleslaw proved to be hotter than the meat. Very slow service and a really poor experience. Unsure what the chef was thinking getting the mains all plated and ready to serve before the starters were done... Complaints about the delay and length of time the mains sat on the serving area under the hot lights weren't accepted - other than an apology for the wait. Used to be decent for a meal but absolutely not now.

MORE AT Google

The service was horrendous from start to finish. We are very polite customers. We used to work in the restaurant industry. We know how rude customers can be. We go out of our way to be easy customers to deal with. However, this should cut both ways. From the moment we entered the restaurant, we were made to wait for quite some time (the restaurant was not busy and there were plenty of staff). We were actively ignored. This has been done to us on a number of occasions when we visited the restaurant, to the point that we have left the restaurant a few times in the past (without ordering), as it was clear we were never going to be served. The waiter who took us to our table was rude. He was incompetent taking our order, and he was very impolite when we tried to engage him in small talk/or in any form of communication. He messed up our order, in particular mine. My starter was incomplete. It took me quite some time to get the rest of it down to the table (after asking several waiters - I was also charged extra for what I got). I had to rush the rest of the starter, as the main course was immediately brought to the table. My food was both over cooked, and not cooked properly. Most of the food was raw in the middle, and burnt on the outside. There was no flavour at all. The turkey I ordered was substituted for an inferior, small-cut lunch turkey (which belonged more in a small sandwich than a main meal). There were a number of items missing from the plate also. I did not enjoy eating the meal at all, and felt I had to rush it, as I got the vibe the staff wanted us out of the restaurant a.s.a.p. I did not feel welcome at all. I felt that they had judged how they would treat us, by a snap judgement they made about us when we arrived. Like I said, we were nice and polite. I felt that the staff judged us as not being worthy of making an effort for. The dessert, when it eventually arrived, was tiny. I believe I was served a kids-sized portion, and it was dressed with a tiny amount of weakly mixed custard, instead of brandy sauce. I looked at other tables near us who ordered exactly what I ordered, and their plates and bowls were bulging with well-made food. It was intentional that our food, and in particular mine, was made to a very poor standard. The staff were actively rude and aggressive for our whole visit. We were polite from start to finish. The kitchen staff spent more time messing about than cooking. It felt like the staff were more interested in dossing about and having a laugh amongst themselves, than doing their jobs. We have been coming to the Stirling Beefeater for a number of years. In the past, it had lovely & friendly staff - and the food was good, and the portions generous. It is sad to see the restaurant go downhill. It is also sad that the present staff are so rude and aggressive. When I asked for assistance with my starter, a member of the waiting team clearly called to the supervisor office - and it appears seemed to convey that I/our table were being difficult. He came out and stalked about the restaurant for the next 10-15 mins, glaring constantly over at our table, and me in particular. I tried to ignore it, but after about 15 mins I stared back, and he then disappeared back to his office. I don't know if it was some sort of ridiculous attempt at an "alpha" display, but it was really irritating - especially as he did not come over and speak to us at any point. I feel this also reflects the culture of how the restaurant is now. In short - if the staff can be bothered to deal with you, they will. If they feel you are not worth the bother, they will ignore you - or give you a poor service, bad food, and overcharge you for the pleasure. I will be honest, it spoiled my day. We were out for a nice Christmas meal. We were not one bit of bother to deal with. Other people around us were treated very well. I am not from Scotland originally. It was not nice to receive such a lack of hospitality. I really hope you can make some improvements at the restaurant, as I am actively considering never returning - nor are my colleagues (and I imagine other people will do the same if treated similarly). It used to be a lovely place to go to. It was also a place where the staff were nice to deal with. It sucked that my Christmas meal was ruined, especially so close to Christmas.

The main meals from the Christmas menu were worse, the steak came with fries rather than roast potatoes as stated in menu, told the waitress & she took plates away to rectify it she then brought them back saying we were just to eat them & she would bring the roasted potatoes to us, in other words the chef didn’t want to make the whole meal again, 10mins later she came over saying they were just coming, we ended up telling her to forget it.the brussel sprouts & parsnips that came with the turkey were near raw. Felt as though they were understaffed and frazzled, Will not be back ever,

We checked with the server who confirmed the 40% offer applied so we all ordered the roast. When the roasts arrived all the Yorkshire puddings were cremated and the sprouts were well undercooked. When we got the bill, we were told the offer didn’t apply after all and it was pointed out in the small print of the offer. Certainly cannot fault the breakfast here. They have a small buffet, where you can help yourself to as much as you want - fruit juices; fresh fruit salad; yoghurts; toast or bread; English muffins; croissants; butter and jam; coffee; cereals. Then you can order a hot, cooked breakfast from the menu - again, you can ask for as many as you want from eggs (fried, poached, scrambled), bacon, sausages, black pudding, mushrooms, tomatoes, hash browns, beans, and some vegan choices too. The hot food is freshly made by a lovely lady who is doing a really excellent job. All this for £9.99 per person. I don't know how they can be making any money. It's excellent value for money. The girl who served us was very smiley, friendly and polite. She was working extremely hard as she seemed to be serving the entire restaurant on her own. I cannot think of a single negative thing to say (and I'm usually very picky!). Well done.

Luckily, Scott, who was the Shift Supervisor was very helpful and when I told him that I had had made a booking previously and explained that I knew a large party was coming in at 1930 and I had booked it for 1900 for that reason he knew my booking had been lost. One of our party ordered a sirloin steak which was ordered as medium/well done. The steak arrived well done nearly black. We decided not to complain although on hindsight we should of highlighted it to waiting staff to get a replacement. The lack of staff available was part of the reason we didn't mention it. By the time we got to ordering our desert it was mid afternoon and we were the only customers in the restaurant i still had to stand up and go hunting for service. Probably will not go back

The food on offer is not poor, but definitely not good. You will be able to take the necessary nutrition for the day, but don't expect very tasty good quality dishes. The beer choice is poor, lots of lager, Guinness and Belhaven (a very poor quality and fizzy beer). I prefer an ale and would take a bottled one over a lager but no such choice was on offer and, as you might guess, I can't stand Belhaven The price of a pint is obscene, I paid £5.70 for a Peroni in all honesty I should have taken a water, it has just as much taste. I'm sure not drinking would please the devolved administration given the hike in tax in Scotland in such items. Staff were ok but it was abus night and service was very creaky, 12mins waiting at the bar for a beer with no bar person available 😔 was a stretch. Would I go again? Very likely no, probably much better to go into Stirling town only 10-15 mins walk away.

I visited with my wife and daughter at 6:30 on a Saturday evening. We were seen to our table promptly and chose our food: Fillet steak medium rare, chargrilled half chicken, and vegetarian lasagne. Nadine, our waitress, went away and then came back and told us they were out of lasagne. Attempted to swap for a fish and chips but out of that as well. So decided on a Beef and ale pie. Food came reasonably promptly but no jug of gravy with the pie. Nadine was very put out that we asked for the gravy, but said she would get an extra(???) jug for us and then went and served other customers. We managed to catch someone else's eye and a jug of cold gravy arrived. No sight of Nadine, so I went up to the counter and waited for a fresh bag of gravy to be microwaved. Steak and chips - the steak was overcooked and the triple cooked chips very insipid looking. The BBQ sauce was tasty but very small amount Chicken - this was good but chips and sauce as above. Pie - this was ok but already halfway through before gravy came. Peas were very low quality (bad school dinner vibes), chips as above. At no point were we asked how our food was, even when we had finished with a quarter of the steak, all the peas, and most of the chips left on our plates. It must have been clear we were not happy with our food. Even when my wife started to complain to the manager, she was very abrupt and didn't seem interested. We won't be going again, and I shall be cancelling my beefeater card and unsubscribing from emails so that I don't forget how bad this was and think it might be a good idea to come back.

I was there for a wedding reception of a son and there was no organisation in the place. Different people came to take the same orders and kept mixing up the service by giving someone what he/she didn't ask for.

If I could give zero stars I would this place is a disaster. Visited with my family and 50 minutes later our food arrived. I have 3 year old twins and honestly I think because one of them started to cry as they were so hungry a tiny bowl of chips were produced. Manager, (woman with glasses) has an attitude problem and clearly is under the impression that having to wait almost an hour is acceptable. My wife asked while waiting would the food be much longer and was told that we can’t skip orders and the kids have to simply wait. This is ridiculous as we said to our server as soon as the kids stuff is ready bring it out, he never said anything about their special ordering system. Our server Paul you could see was burnt out and clearly didn’t care. Ordered a pint and a gin and tonic and had to ask multiple times for it. When my dinner arrived I would have liked a few more chips but if I’d ordered they probably arrive the next day. Dinner was almost £60 nothing was deducted from the bill so it’s seem as acceptable to offer such poor and dreadful service. We went to this place as we thought it would be great for kids, clearly we were mistaken. There are significantly better alternative’s available. Skip at all costs.

Went for breakfast and the staff were really helpful, o ly.issue was most of the items on the buffet were empty, empty cereals, juices, jams, so we had to ask for everything. And there was only 1 other fail dining at that time

Booked with Premier Inn, only two staff worked at rush hour breakfast. Both were very rude. Waited over 30 mins to get served and waited over an hour for a bowl of porridge. 25th August 2023.

Very unpolite and slow staff. We were told breakfast was open from 6.30 but it opened just at 7.00 and instead of being polite we were shouted at that we didn‘t order a table - even though the restaurant was empty!!! Really not a good feeling, the staff could use an education in customer service. Food is ok.

They have free breakfast for all the kids . I was not aware when I visited for the first time . So a great deal 😁. Food is awesome. The staff is nice. Option to make unlimited tea/coffee on your own and hot breakfast to order , all inclusive. I guess it was around £10 per person. A very happy customer 😁 I'm..

We stayed at the Premier Inn attached to the restaurant so it was a very convenient place to eat. While the food is good the service is the slowest we have ever experienced. On both nights we had made reservations and both nights it took an hour for our orders to be taken and another hour for our meals to arrive. Sorry but 2 hours to receive a meal is just ridiculous. Breakfast wasn’t much better. It took 2 30 minutes for them to take my order for a cooked breakfast.

With a few global giants nearby this independent knocks them for six in terms of quality and value. Recently reopened, post covid closure and I urge people to support this and other independent businesses, but only if they deserve it as this one clearly does. I had a bacon and a square sausage roll for breakfast and both were lovely. Returned on my last day for another bacon roll and had a couple of takeout rolls for later on the long train ride back home to Birmingham. Nice staff, nice place, deserves support. Recommended.

Without a doubt, the worst takeaway meal I have ever had in my (long) life. Everything was overcooked to the point of being inedible. Never again. Avoid at all costs. Lees House in Bridge of Allan is open again - fortunately!
