Decor excellent,staff guy was on the ball knew his stuff, food was amazing chicken pakora fresh as you can get well worth a visit we are staying in drymen and only 10 mins away highly recommended

Great service & tasty food that reminded me of desi dhabas. The service from Ranjitsingh was outstanding and deserves a special mention. The food was delicious and was freshly prepared unlike a few resorts serve precooked & reheated food! The tadka dal was just like a typical Punjabi home-made offering. Paneer dishes were made to taste to Indian palette. All-in-all, an authentic Indian restaurant closer to the Loch Lomond area.

Had a delivery to a local airbnb. Staff were extremely friendly in helping to locate us for the delivery and the food tasted great!

Delicious food- could rival a lot of restaurants in the cities! Came here quite late as a last minute option, and we were delighted by the quality. 5 stars no faults.

Home delivery, pakora was cold served in paper bags, which doesn’t keep food warm. No salad with it just some sliced onion. Taste poor and greasy !! Price expensive for what we received Won’t return

Fantastic food - ate here twice in the one week we stayed in the area. The garlic nan bread is fluffy and drenched in butter & fresh coriander, the 3 types of curry all v tasty. Great value, friendly service and funky, genuine retro decor.

We had the Bombay chicken to begin with it was good but personally wouldn't say it's Bombay chicken quite flavourful and spicy then had chicken tikka and chapati, we asked for mint sauce to discover they had none which Is very odd for Indian restaurant considering tandoori dishes are meant to be served traditionally with mint sauce, the server was not very attentive as chatting to someone regarding personal matters and had to get up at one point for attention and at two points I gestured politely for his attention and was ignored both times but I can't fault the food just really bad service.

Tarry and staff supplied pakora and sundries for small house party and it was delicious. Freshly made and delivered on time. Great servic 5🌟

Excellent food and delivery was reasonable despite us being pretty far. Very pleased these guys are in the area as there is nothing else around here.

Very disappointed with this place. We were staying at a friend's in Aberfoyle and decided to order in. When the food arrived it was luke warm! The chicken chasni only had 7 small bits of chicken in it and drowned in a bland sauce. Was also charged £11 for delivery!! We are only 15 minutes away!!! In my home town south of Glasgow this doesn't happen its a £2 delivery and the takeaway is 20 minutes away. Utterly shocking. Definitely will not be using this place again!!

Went here for a quick takeaway tonight- ordered the saag Baji (spinach and chick pea curry). It was very oily, had uncooked white onion in it and tasted of nothing except raw Chili, in edible and waste of £8.

Took my family out for a meal tonight the worst experience I have had in a long time the 3 meals wee had were all bland chicken tika chicken tika chasnia. the cheifs platter was very basic the serve was poor they did not even serve the chicken tika on the hot plate so it went cold it also over priced and a waist of time and money you would not even give this to your dog this is one so called restaurant I will never go back to

Restaurant was pleasant enough and the staff were friendly. The food, however, was (mostly) edible at best. The dish I had, for which I cannot remember the name, tasted and smelt just like tomato soup with a few flavourings added to alter the taste slightly. Another dish that was had was a Korma which had absolutely no taste. The worst bit was how horribly overpriced the place is. The mains we had were £14 without rice, a child's meal regardless if they had a curry or chicken nuggets & chips is £8.50 and then charging for each of the accompaniments for poppadoms was £2, something that's always been included with every other Indian I've ever had. As I am just visiting the area I cant compare it to any other local establishments but, based on my other Indian restaurant experiences, I cannot recommend this place

We had ordered a delivery from here while having a romantic weekend away nearby (cabins 6miles away) to save my husband cooking and I’m so glad we did. The customer service was perfect, the meals were delicious (South Indian garlic chilli chicken and chicken tikka chasni + accompaniments) the delivery time was a respectful hour wait and the delivery service was impeccable! We were informed of how long delivery would take roughly and where to meet for delivery, which was the car park a few metres from our cabin…the food was piping hot and tasty, the driver was friendly and polite. What more could you ask for.

Don’t be fooled by the entrance , we love this restaurant, excellent service and delicious food, what’s not to like.

The food wasn’t the best. It was edible! Everything was over powered by ginger ! Couldn’t taste garlic in anything. Very disappointed with our meal and a waste of £55. Won’t be going here again. The best part was our drinks.

We ordered a lot of food from here as a treat whilst we were staying at DreamCatcher cabins. We loved the food one of the best Indian takeaway we have had. Plenty of vegetarian choices too and food was so fresh and warm when it arrived. The young delivery boy was so lovely too. Thanks all we will definitely order from you again when we are next in the area

It has been a very long time since we last visited Saffron, due to the pandemic and the fact that it is far from where we live. We found that the small restaurant had been tastefully redecorated during lockdown and were happy that it fortunately survived the long periods of lockdowns thanks to their take-away business next door. The food at Saffron never disappoints and although I asked for chicken Madras, which is not on the menu, it was prepared freshly for me and was superb. My wife's ginger chicken, however, was amazing, so I plan to have that next time. The naans were served piping hot and every dish was perfectly tasty. We found that the food was rather more expensive than we had anticipated, but costs are rising and our dinner was wonderful. Thank you to the owner, Prashant, who spent time chatting with us and who looked after us exceptionally well.

The food was amazing...had a wee drink while we waited for our order. Friendly efficient staff, and did I mention the food is amazing? 😁

Ordered a delivery as we were on holiday in the area, the food was over an half and a half late because the delivery guy went to the wrong place. Not only that but he asked me to meet him in the rain and dark at a gate because he said he couldn't go any further! He eventually found us, the food was lukewarm and he still took the money off us for a meal that was really inedible. The fish was off that my kids had asked for and my chicken tikka came with a sauce that I can only describe as lentil soup. We ended up being hungry all night as the food delivered was rubbish, wouldn't recommend.

Took a very long time for it to be delivered. 1hour 20 minutes. Delivery charge was very expensive! Chicken pakora was good. The korma was very bland. The chasni had way too much vinegar in it. Chicken in the dishes was a bit hard.£50 very disappointing.

Quick delivery, fantastic service. Great food. We are staying at the loch lomond hideaway and decided to order some food, the person said it could be 45 mins for delivery but we wernt bothered in the time. Once it came, it was amazing. The mirchi korma was the best I've had in a very long time. So good that I was tempted to phone up again and get another sent out. Partner also enjoyed his mixed tikka. We have the award winning Indian restaurant called the sanam where we live in falkirk but in my opinion you guys at the new saffron are ×10 better than the sanam. Its really a shame that you won't be able to deliver to us in falkirk as you would have us as loyal customers. We did phone up about 1 hour 30 mins to order some more things but sadly the delivery driver had just finished his shift but that didn't spoil it, think we were just being greedy. Would diff order again when we come back and we would recommend you guys to friends and family when they come up for a visit. Keep up the good work guys 👍👍👍

Unfortunately very bland. We had a balti and a biryani but there was not a lot of flavour to either.

Please don’t buy from this takeaway if you want a creamy curry!! It honestly tasted like macaroni cheese/cheese sauce. The other curry (bhuna) had a weird tang and this is coming from a couple that loves an Indian takeaway! Ended up putting it in the bin and just ate the poppadoms/naan. Overpriced, however friendly staff.

Although we have lived in the area for a very long while, we had never considered using this restaurant,but on the recommendation of a friend, we ordered a takeway meal at the weekend. The order was for a typical mix of Indian starter and main course . The food arrived when we got there, was served in separate containers and kept hot until we got home. Portions were very generous,tasty and quite honestly as good as anything we have had from any other high street indian restaurant. The premises are nothing to look at from the street,it is in an old building,so don't be put off. We will certainly be back !

Discussing service! Don’t order from this place over charge you also! Charged me £9 delivery I was 6 miles away! When I called the shop guy said he didn’t know delivery prices and I had to speak to the driver The driver said I must pay for him to deliver and for his time going back to restaurant, I mean who says this? Ordered a takeaway from this restaurant whilst staying at a cabin in Gartmore on Monday night. The food was 5 stars and so hot when delivered. Both of us had different styles of curry, pilau rice, popadoms, nan bread and everything tasted incredible. Reasonably priced and will definitely eat here again.

Whilst staying at Dreamcatchers Cabins, we saw that they recommended Saffron, so we thought we would check it out. The food was delicious, freshly prepared, with great portion sizes. Fantastic customer service and friendly staff.

This was the first time we have used Saffron for a take away, we were impressed as they were very helpful. We had the set menu and our son had chicken pakora chips and Nan - mix pakora starter was lovely and plenty of it. Main was lamb madras and chicken dansak really tasty plenty of meat (good quality) which was great. Chicken pakora was also good and plenty of chicken and son loved the chips/Nan also. Excellent meal.

Good enough to deliver to our accommodation a few miles away. Overall food was just really average and quite expensive for take away. The miniscule prawn puri was basic and not even a small side salad with it. Mains of some kind of butter chicken and chicken korahi were average, saffron rice had no discernible taste and, to be fair, garlic naan was decent. Despite accommodation recommendation it was not that good.

We got takeout from here when we stayed at Loch Lomond and wish we just cooked ourselfs as the rice was hard and almost crunchy the sauce too wasn't even edible. Neither of us eat more than a few forkfulls before it went in the bin.

Came here as a last minute choice for dinner whilst staying in Drymen. So glad we ended up here as the food was absolutely beautiful. We each had a set meal which was amazing value for money and even had to take some away with us. The staff were lovely and the flavours of the food were incredible! Highly recommend!

There is a decent sized menu with plenty of choice. Food is generally very good, although on occasion the lamb can be quite tough. Sauces and nans are always excellent. Service is usually very good.The place does look quite run down, but worth going to for the food alone.

I've been going to the Saffie each time I visit friends for many years. Never had a bad meal there. Have to the spicey Chicken Jalfrezi I had last night with mushroom pillau was top draw. Plus the best garlic naans too. Well worth a visit. Cheers!!

We wanted to have some Indian food while we were visiting Loch Lomond. This restaurant was close to our stay. Restaurant was neat and clean. The staff was friendly too. We ordered a South Indian curry and to be honest it was no way authentic. They have just used some red sauce for flavour and was no way near to what we ordered. The red colour was in my hands even after 2 days. Think it would be better to remove dishes the chef is not aware of how to cook.

Absolute joke of a place 8 people seated in an empty restraunt. 4 people served and 1 hour later other 4 still waiting for food and had to leave with our food in a takeaway bag it took so long

We were staying locally and there’s not much choice in Balfour. Turned out to be a nice curry, friendly service and reasonably priced.

Always use Saffron for a take away really good Asian cuisine . Staff are friendly and polite with a good knowledge of the menu and able to answer any questions which is a sign of a good establishment .

As an Indian I came here to eat something familiar but was not expecting much given we are in a little town. The food and service far exceeded my expectations. Every dish was great and my family and I couldn't stop raving. We are coming here tomorrow night for another meal!

This place i came across just by chance and the food was just fab and not to expensive you can eat in the bar or upstairs in the restaurant they do a curry deal Sunday to Thursday😆

Hemos estado buscando un restaurante indio en esta área por un tiempo. El Saffron era el más cercano a donde nos quedamos en Balmaha y qué sorpresa tan agradable. El entrante de carne mixta para compartir fue enorme y delicioso, especialmente el Pakora. Tuve el cordero boaty, que era, de lejos, el mejor plato de cordero que he tenido durante mucho tiempo, una sorprendente mezcla de especias y una buena suerte de calor. El servicio fue excelente y el personal muy amable. Sin duda volveremos la próxima vez que estemos en Escocia, es una pena que esté a 250 millas de casa.

Visiting relatives in the area and they suggested a takeaway for that particular evening back in August 2016. Phoned up, ordered, all ready when we called in a bit later. Friendly service. We enjoyed the varied selection we had from the menu.

I am a regular consumer of Indian food and have enjoyed some fantastic meals over the years. This restaurant in Balfron was easily one of the better ones. Was visiting a friend for the weekend last week and we decided to eat here having consumed...

We eat here regularly, often by take-away. Food and service always excellent - never had anything that we have not enjoyed. Last night we had some particularly good curries (the patia and dopiaza are worth trying).

Curry tasted acidic, was missing ingredients and naan was burnt yet also uncooked with an odd slimy uncooked paste on top. Couldn't eat it. Rung to complain and was advised to go in the next day but re box it all to show the manager with possible outcomes: cooking it again, 'the way I like it' (ha ha! How about just cooking it so it is edible?), possibly exploring a refund, or nothing at all. Not impressed, and would not recommend.
