Maharaja in Stirling

Was never a fan of Indian food til visited the maharaja, well what can I say, it's absolutely the best Indian food I've ever had, the service and welcome you get is 10 out of 10. I'm visiting Stirling this weekend and I'll definitely 100% be coming for food, keep up the standard, absolutely excellent ☆☆☆☆☆

Maharaja is a must visit for anyone craving Authentic Indian cuisine. Whether you are new to Indian food or longtime fan. I recently visited this restaurant again with a friend who was new to Indian cuisine and she absolutely enjoyed mild but flavorful spices in the butter chicken and sweet peshwari naan. On the other hand I as an experienced lover of Indian food, had desi lamb which was new dish on the menu. Believe me it was the best lamb dish I've ever had. Lamb cooked to perfection,tender,juicy and packed with layers of flavor .Service was 10/10 attentive friendly .I would strongly recommend that go and try , Definitely coming back when in Stirling.

A very bad experience with this restaurant. We ordered two garlic naan, biryani and lamb boona. None of the dishes have any salt or flavour. The name authentic restaurant doesn't justify the food they serve. We haven't touched any food. All went to the bin and we were very sad to waste food but couldn't eat at all. £35 pounds wasted.

Very friendly staff, attentive but not intrusive. Reasonably priced and very enjoyable food. Restaurant clean and well presented.

An outstanding meal which was faultless and with attentive and friendly service. We eat a lot of curries all over the country and this is right up there with the very best of them. Beautiful tender chicken tikka, fresh ingredients, and a warm welcome. This is my fourth visit here over the years and this occasion was with all my family who all raved about it. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending and we will certainly return. Well done to all concerned

First time eating out on Christmas Day. We were apprehensive before hand having a 2 and 4 year old in our group. However the service was excellent with friendly staff’ food was well presented and tasted amazing. We were very impressed as the restaurant was packed but still the staff were very attentive and polite. We did not feel rushed at all and really enjoyed our Christmas dinner at Maharajah. Will definitely be coming back and highly recommend!

Got takeaway for Christmas dinner for first time out here and was the best Indian food we have ever eaten huge size portions fair prices and excellent service 10/10 would recommend 100%

Hanno avuto la premura di consigliarci nelle scelte e di preoccuparsi che fossero di nostro gradimento. Il cibo infine (ma non di poco importanza) è BUONISSIMO, senza troppi giri di parole, Ho provato vari ristoranti indiani anche in Italia, ma i sapori che ho gustato qui, sono stati i migliori. Complimenti!

Food excellent staff excellent one of the best reasons to come back to Stirling

As soon as we walked in maharaja’s staff took our jackets and lighted a candle for us which was a delight as we had walked to two other restaurants and we weren’t feeling the menus. The customer service and food service was phenomenal and we were left really impressed at this place. Extremely delicious food! I thanked the staff on my way out. We would recommend this place and if we were back in Stirling would deffinetly return! Thank-you again maharaja.

My wife and I came here on our last day in Scotland as we were heading out. I had the Punjabi Chili Garlic which was incredible. My wife had the Punjabi Tikka Curry that was literally the best curry I’ve had in my life. The flavor was divine and absolute perfection 15/10 would recommend this place!!

Amazing food, service, atmosphere and extremely good customer service. Being from down south and having been to different restaurants I can see this place topples everywhere I have been! We will return!

My wife had a pasanda I had a ceyolese korma both were fantastic. The decor is very nice and the service is second to none. I would encourage everyone to try this restaurant.

Best Indian food I've ever had!

This place is amazing. I was part of a large group of guys and not only was the food incredible, but the staff were ultra accommodating and joined in the fun. When the service ends up being the highlight of the entire trip, you're onto a winner

We dropped in here for the first time for indian food in stirling. Fast service no waiting for the drinks, staff were lovely and friendly. Food was delicious with somespicy names .Some good music playing in the background. A lovely place to sit there and seating was outstanding .

Excellent authentic Indian Punjabi cuisine. Quick service, good selection of Indian dishes and central location. They happily accommodated our party of 10 just before closing time. Reasonable prices.

I had a taste of my wife's Lamb Garam Masala and it was fantastic. I had the Punjabi Garlic Chilli Chicken and it was also superb. Each mouthful tasted subtle different so there was a small delicious element of surprise with each bite. I had it with the Paneer pilau rice which on its own was also delicious. So the main courses were sensational. I wasn't so impressed with the accompaniments that came with papadoms. Not bad, but not sensational. Given how good the main courses were I'm not going to deduct any stars for the papadoms.

Wow and absolutely excellent meal! We both went for lamb, 1 garma masala and a rogan Josh. The lamb was so fresh and tender. Poppidoms nann bread was also bang on. We look forward to returning! Staff were very nice aswell. 10/10

Incredible food, really the best Indian food any of our party can remember eating. Meat eaters and vegetarians both very happy. Friendly staff as well, everything was just right. Haggis pakora a hit with my Dad! Highly recommend and gutted we don’t live in Scotland so can’t visit regularly!

This is the best Indian restaurant I have ever been to in Stirling . We got the lunch combo menu and I ordered veg samosa for starters which took me to Punjab when I had a bite ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Absolute bliss and a must try . My husband got the chicken chat with the green chutney (best green chutney) and he was so impressed and was in cloud 9. Then we went for panner karahi and punjabi style chicken curry. Both of the curry were really delicious just likes home cooked curry. We paired it with peshwari naan and garlic naan which was out of this world . I have never had a peshwari naan like that in my life and it’s a must try . The service was really good and the staffs were really friendly. On the whole , we found a place we would visit again for a homely , authentic meal and highly recommend to everyone. Good work Team Maharaja.

Majaraja never feels to let us down. We often eat in bud more regularly take away. The portions are perfect and meals reasonably priced. The flavour and quality exceed expectations and overall they’re very reliable and consistent. Staff are very friendly and attentive. They’re easily the best at what they do, but I’d go as far as to say they’re the best restaurant in Stirling. The City centre is lucky to have them!

5 stars all around. Food was absolutely amazing. Service was friendly and fast. Ordered tikka and aloo gobi and both were perfect. Not spicy which I prefer.

Very nice Indian restaurant with plenty of selections and flavors to choose from. Portions are large and filling. We ordered chicken Biryani, Punjabi style chicken tikka masala, pilau rice, and garlic naan. Everything tasted good. Athough the garlic naan was a large portion and tasty, it was soggy. It looked like they just brushed garlic sauce over the regular Naan, and that made it soggy. Next time, I would order the regular Naan. The service is attentive and friendly. Except for background Indian music, the ambiance is plain, and there are no Indian decorations.

The food is excellent, they looked after us very well at all times, it is definitely worth it. (I didn't take photos of my dessert, chocolate cake)

I recently ordered the chicken tikka biryani from Maharaja Restaurant and it was hands down the worst biryani I've ever had. It felt like they just sent me plain rice dyed yellow, if you catch my drift. The lack of flavor and authenticity was truly disappointing. Maharaja only in its name and not in their dishes.I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a genuine biryani experience.

If you are planning for a visit to Stirling castle then this restaurant is a must try..good fresh tasty food, kind service, best restaurant I have tried in Scotland i would say. All the staff were very helpful and the food was so nice.

Had lunch here twice with my girlfriend. Food is absolutely unreal and staff are all very friendly. You will not find better Indian food anywhere in the area, I can promise you that.

Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Never miss a visit to Maharaja when we're in Stirling. Food is excellent and so are the staff. The Lamb Pasanda is to die for!

This venue is ideally located right in the centre of town so is easy to get to. As soon as you enter you are warmly welcomed by the staff, all of whom are very pleasant and friendly and offer a great service. The food here is amazing! We were only in the area for a few days but went here twice because the food was so good! On both visits we had something different and on both occasions the food was very well prepared and tasted absolutely fantastic. The naan breads are huge! Very reasonably priced and well worth a visit.

Perfect service and goodness me beautifully cooked and served Indian meals, I will be here every year I visit Stirling for the New Year Party. Do not miss what I consider a very fine Indian restraint, and I come from Glasgow and boy do we know a good Indian restaurant.

Incredible service, and even better food

Visited Stirling with my family on a day trip from Glasgow, called the restaurant before they closed for lunch break but they were happy to stay open and serve us. Polite staff, reasonable prices and great taste, a treat foor the whole family in a cosy setting.

We visited today for lunch. The waitress did not understand what a gin and slimline tonic was as I got full fat tonic 🙈🙈. We waited forever on our main course, the waiter came over to say that it was because the kitchen was very busy 🙈🙈, almost the whole restaurant had been fed including people that came in after us. Found the service and the atmosphere very cold, won't be back. Had they just been honest and said that we had been forgotten about that would have been much better than lying!

We waited on our main course which was ok but to be told bluntly after the waiter came to tell us the main was on its way we said joking forgot about us no kitchen is busy well id hate to be a guest when it is busy .... Plenty other restaurants around wouldn't be my first choice again

This has been our favourite place to go for years now, just a shame we can’t go as often now. The food is unbeatable, hands down the best Indian food we’ve had - especially considering their low prices. This is by far the best curry house in Stirling & Clacks. The food is fresh and beautifully cooked every time and has never disappointed. The staff are polite and provide a great service. My favourite dishes are the Desi Lamb, Tandoori and Madras curries.

We came last night for a curry and were not disappointed! We're from Manchester, so unlikely to visit again unless we do another driving trip in Scotland. The service and food was incredible. We had eaten here on a previous trip to Stirling and enjoyed it so much we decided to return. Our recent visit was every bit as good as we had remembered. The restaurant was warm and welcoming, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. We shared a mixed starter, one curry with rice and naan followed by a couple of tasty desserts all washed down by a lovely chilled South African Chenin Blanc. We were delighted with our evening and would definitely return if we were in the area again.
