Stephanie's Cafe Bar Shoppe in Hartlepool

Spent New Year’s eve here and had a great night, very friendly happy bunch of people and the drinks were very reasonable, i will definitely return in the very near future x

After following Steph on Facebook for several years I wanted to visit her cafe bar shoppe. Well I wasn’t disappointed. We booked into the local Premier Inn on the Saturday afternoon, had a wander around Hartlepool then got ready for the night. I really didn’t know what to expect, it was a fantastic night. We had cocktails and a bottle of wine. Winning a bottle of Prosecco in the quiz was a surprise. Steph, Ian and Amy were so welcoming and friendly. I felt like i was visiting friends. Thank you all, I’ll definitely make the 240 mile round trip to visit again.

I visited this place and can only agree with Yamfam review. Bar staff were a shambles, ran out of clean glasses early into the night and also ran short of drinks too. The bar seems to be ran on an amateur basis by staff that have no enthusiasm to be there. There are much better venues close by worth more of a visit.

When I found out Stephanie had her bar , me and partner had to go , we found it so amazing we had our engagement party there Stephanie and her staff were amazing , so infact we go there as much as possible it’s an amazing place if you are thinking about going don’t hesitate because you’re guaranteed the best night ever I wouldn’t say there was a bad thing wrong with it The drinks are greatly priced the staff and Stephanie make the atomosphere so friendly and nice You really don’t want to miss out

I have visited the bar a few times it’s a lovely place very Homely the staff are lovely and friendly I will definitely be going back for another visit very soon

We absolutely love this Cafe-Bar Shoppe, we had our engagement party here. An absolute pleasure Stephanie and her staff are. Made our engagement party a lovely friendly environment and drinks were amazing. We then visited again 2 weeks ago for one of Stephanie's live LOLs. What a laugh. Absolutely lovely lass to be around. We are going back on Friday and are so excited. We literally can't wait. For anyone who hasnt been. Please go. And for anyone who has been will know its such a lovely place. What a lovely friendly little bar. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Just like home from home. And Stephanie... Well what can I say. She is funny as anything. She is friendly welcoming and just an all round gorgeous person. The staff and helpful and will even do you some cheesy nachos if you want them. Get yaself in for a fab night of belly laughs in a warm friendly atmosphere. Bloody love 55 church Street I do. Highly recommended x

Visited recently and what a shower the staff are. Loads of drinks out of stock, had to return a drink as it was not what ordered. No customer service - staff need some training on how to treat customers. Much better bars in the vicinity

What i really like about this place is that it's a great place for everyone. The owner, staff and customers are open minded, some times eccentric, but lovely people.

We went for a show here and what a nice homely place it is made to feel very welcome we had a really great visit would love to come back again

Stephanie Aird is one of the most naturally funny people you will ever meet. She goes that extra mile to make sure everyone has a good time without losing that personal touch. My only hope now is that Steph gets to tour the country bringing joy to her 'Phannies phfrom phar and wide'. The cafe bar shoppe deserves all the success in the world as well as Stephanie herself who is just a generally lovely human being which is quite a rarity these days. 5* 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Visited Stephanies Cafe Bar Shoppe in Hartlepool last night in a group of 11 ladies and each and everyone of us had an absolutely brilliant time! Stephanie is a truly fabulous hostess and works tirelessly to ensure all her guests are comfortable and have eveything they need. A genuinely kind and lovely person as well as being a topclass entertainer and we have never laughed so much! Such a fantastic atmosphere and great selection of drinks at good prices all served by the hardworking Ian behind the bar. Nothing was a trouble for him and he served us all tasty snacks we ordered with a smile. If you want a fabulous night out, dont hesitate to head to this little gem of a place...we can't wait to go back!!!

Would definitely recommend going to Stephanie's café-bar-shoppe. Steph is a lovely person and always welcomes you with a warm welcome.

I have visited Stephanie's Cafe-Bar-Shoppe a couple of times and the entertainment is fabulous! Drinks are great, great company, and the nibbles are to die for! I love Stephanie, she's hilarious! I've also done a show in the Cafe-Bar and she couldn't be more welcoming! Definitely the place to be in Hartlepool!

This destination was a must do on my daughter's birthday road trip wish list. Starting off in Norfolk we travelled to Stephanie's via a stop over in Blackpool. (500+ mile trip). Sadly Stephanie (namesake of Stephanie's Cafe Bar Shoppe) was not in residence but our hosts Adam and Lexi did a fine job of entertaining us during our feed. The hugest mug of milkshake I have ever seen overflowing with fresh strawberries, melted chocolate, sprinkles, wafers and magic was a thing to behold, and the burgers were first class. Delicious meat option for myself and a spicy bean burger for the young un. All fresh, all handmade, all made to order. Even the chips were handcut. I whacked mine down my neck quick as you like, the daughter struggled with hers but then after almost drowning in creamy ice cream goodness it's hardly surprising. (It's a few hours since feeding and she has just said that she's ready to eat her burger now and wishes she hadn't wasted it! Typical). Eclectic surroundings, welcoming host and fabulous food. What's not to love? Looks like a cracking venue for a night out too with house wine at £10 a bottle I'm almost tempted to drive back another time.

Why more people don't go here is beyond me, it's a brilliant place for food during the day and perfect for a drink on a night 🍺 great atmosphere and friendly staff.... Get visiting folks, you won't be disappointed

I recommend every person to visit. The owner is absolutely fabulous and the atmosphere is beyond welcoming! I'd come back every week if I didn't live so far away. Love, love, love it there! 💕💕

I love Stephanie's, it's warm, cozy, friendly, Stephanie always makes you feel welcome and always has a smile and a joke or two! The food is great, she has loads of events on, you can hire it for parties or get-togethers and she is so thoughtful and can't do enough for you. It's a no-hate hub that welcomes the LGBT community. Keep it up Steph!

Attended for a craft day at Christmas Steph Is lovely and really trying to make a go of it here would encourage people to pop in for something and help her do well!

Great atmosphere and a brilliantly eccentric host. The food was amazing, waiting time was perfectly acceptable especially with drinks and entertainment from Stephanie herself during our wait.

Very warm and welcoming atmosphere and good entertainment from the owner herself, Stephanie. We called in for a drink and found this establishment to be very nice and chilled. Will defiantly return when out in Hartlepool.

After a friend pointed us in its direction from owner Stephanie's hilarious Facebook video blogs, a Saturday lunchtime visit to this lovely cafe-bar-shoppe was worth a trip to Hartlepool. The comfortable shop has a home kitchen/living room feel with mix & match furniture, busy environment and enthusiastic and attentive staff. The tea came in a comforting big mug and the latte in a long glass.. A great alternative to the bland conformity of the chains. Take an adventurous deviation to the more character filled side of the street.

Stephanie's Cafe-Bar is certnantly an experience! Wasn't sure if my stomach was hurting from the laughter or the large amounts of delicious, amazing food I eat! Would recommend to anyone, also great for small group parties, social gatherings and it's a good place for a night out to!

I had initially decided to come to Stephanie's after her amazing Facebook posts caught my eye. In a lot of video's she says she's at 'stephanies cafe-bar-shoppe' so i thought; knickers, im gonna go to this place! So we got there and we're instantly welcomed.The food was gorgeous and i was instantly in love with the decor. I felt like i could have spent all day there. Definitely worth the 30 miles to hartlepool! ☺️

Stephanie's Cafe Bar Shoppe is a must if you like something a little different.This isn't a greasy spoon cafe or a stuck up posh nosh place. It's a very pleasant, unusual change from the norm.While waiting for your food, there's lots to look at that's a bit unusual.The prices are very reasonable and everything is fresh.A must if you are in the area.Highly recommended.

I was looking forward to eating here and I fear my own expectations may have been too high.It took far too long for me to get my order, and when it arrived it's taste was almost non existent.Really disappointed, I doubt I'll be back.

Good surroundings, great food, fantastic music and No1 hostess. Situated close to the railway station and other local bars this eaterie is in open street and has attractive facias, there are avenue type shrubs and is in a stay tidy zone

We were looking for somewhere different to go and ended up in Hartlepool in this lovely cafe.. The food tasted amazing (so had to go back for a second visit). Stephanie made us feel more than welcome on both occasions. She is such a lovely person and down to earth, and the cafe was homely! Definitely not like any other cafe I have been in. We had a laugh, socialised and left with a full stomach and a smile on our faces. Highly recommended.

We were looking for Afternoon Tea in Hartlepool. Popped in the Hilton but they needed a days notice, not good when you are visiting for the day! Walked along Church Street when a friendly lady said Hello and could she help. We said we were looking for Afternoon Tea and after a little hesitation, she said she could oblige. I have to say the Afternoon Tea was different from any other I have had before but where else would you have tea served in a silver plated tea service once owned by Tony Blair! The food was good and you couldn't complain about the quantity. A very friendly, quirky, lady, well done, Steph!

Went shortly after it opened. Stephanie is lovely and very welcoming, and asked for feedback after. Prices really good , bacon sarnie , injected muffin and 2 coffees for under a tenner. Worth the effort to find it on church street and will be back on a Saturday night as it sounds great. Superb

It is rare to find a place with a host with as glowing, bubbly and welcoming personality as Stephanie. The efficient staff appears to be handpicked for similar attributes. Good food and drink selection, Amazing and quirky cocktails. Enter a stranger and leave a friend. You owe it to yourself to visit. I visited early evening during midweek. I suspect the place is bouncing fun later in the evening or over the weekend.

Stephanie's caffe is amazing a little cafe hidden away but the atmosphere is great and Stephanie's a little bit nuts but in a good way I'd defiantly recommend going :)

Friendly welcome with tasty no-nonsense food, freshly prepared and served by the lovely Stephanie in a relaxed atmosphere. I always visit ths place for a nice hearty breakfast when I visit my home-town of Hartlepool, just around the corner from the railway station. Highly recommended!

Been here many times you get a warm welcome every time you visit, Stephanie's always lovely. She's always enthusiastic about what she does and there's always a lovely atmosphere. Food is really nice and reasonably priced she's also offers a wide range of drinks at really good prices.

beautiful cafe bar situated right near hartlepool train station decor is absolutely brilliant and it is all so clean and fresh, the service i received was second to none polite professional and a wide selection on the menu the food was cooked to perfection and drinks were delicious, food was cooked fresh but with minimal time i cant wait to visit again the lady serving us was also the owner and she couldnt of made us feel more welcome if she tried lovely place lovely food a great bunch of staff.

Warm and welcoming cafe with great service from Stephanie and Ian. Cooked breakfasts tailored to your liking and big mugs of coffee with a smile. Toys for kids to play with and books to read, comfy sofa and quirky decor. Good prices and tasty cupcakes for sale. Stephanie enjoys a chat with her visitors and is very friendly. I would definitely recommend this cafe.

Popped into Stephanie's for a coffee while me and my friend waited for the next train to Newcastle. The service was fast and coffee was very nice. We both felt welcome and relaxed as we enjoyed our coffee. Stephanie was great to talk to. Will be going back again, next time to try the sausage sandwiches :)Thanks again :) Chris

Stephanie is one of the best hostesses I have had the pleasure of meeting in a very long time, she makes you feel like you're at her home enjoying a freshly made coffee just for you... amazing place, amazing food, amazing host... you can't ask for any better! A home away from home, without the washing up!

Lovely surroundings and a cafe' with a little difference. Always a very freindly greeting from a very friendly hostess. Went for a coffee with my son and was not disappointed with the friendly service and witty banter Steph is DEFFINATLY the hostess with the mostest lovely atmosphere and good value for money will DEFFINATLY be returning

Good food , resonably priced and fun service. I ordered the garlic bread and it was nice but a little bit too garlicky but it was homade so I found that good. The Belgian waffles are tasty.

This place is a little gem. Have been here a few times now and can honestly say you won't find a warmer welcome anywhere. Stephanie is a lovely, bubbly lady and treats all her customers like old friends.It has a cosy home from home feel and there are more themed rooms upstairs including a vintage and an egyptian room which would be great for afternoon tea or a ladies lunch. Coffee and tea are served in lovely big mugs and food is prepared fresh. Homemade burgers, pulled pork buns and pasta dishes are just some of the things on offer. If you fancy afternoon tea then the best china and trimmings are brought to you. There is a great variety of entertainment nights and daytime classes going on too like sewing classes and even tea leaf reading! Can't recommend it highly enough and look forward to each visit!
