What an amazing experience!!! The atmosphere inside is lovely and cosy, but we were absolutely blown away by the service. Our server couldn't do enough for us (wish we'd gotten his name!!!) he was so helpful and attentive, I asked for my margarita extra spicy and he delivered!! When I couldn't handle the heat he offered to re mix it with some mango juice free of charge. The food was unbelievably delicious too and so worth the money! We got the Italian sausage and nduja pizza and BBQ pulled pork loaded chips. I'm not a big meat eater usually but the pizza was to die for! Can't recommend this place enough and we will be back very soon!!!

Little diamond of a plaçe. Beautifully presented food,the best fish n chips I've had and I love whitby. Very friendly staff and has all facilities you need.10/10

They refused to serve us as they had no tables. Even when someone offered us to sit at their table, we were still refused. My friend had already ordered and paid for drinks, so we had to wait (my friend was with her 90 year old mother) for a refund.

Visited Saturday 31/08/2024. Very nice, comfortable little bar that we called into towards the end of the evening, Georgia kindly entertained us with the shot roulette game, and made us feel very welcome.

Well worth the monthly 40 mile round trip. Cleanliness perfect. Superbly presented, large, quantity, cod, chips, peas, scraps, tartar sauce and a 'wrap'. Also individual large teapot of tea. All served efficiently by very friendly and obliging waitress. Can't wait for next visit. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Having been a few times in the past my wife and I were very dissapointed yesterday . We had a long wait which we don't mind if the wait is worth it , sadly it wasn't. The fish was tasteless , the chips overcooked and dry .peas were also runny.Also the choice of beers isnt as good as it was on last visit coors instead of Estrella no thanks . We travel almost 20 miles for the experience so very dissapointed

Beautiful place to visit next to beach beautiful staff really welcoming and prefessional accomading to every need only thing i found a bit no no for me is the toilets you can hear people flushing the loo but understanable as its such small lovely place to enjoy a summer at beach

My second visit here. Fish and chips are beautifully presented and very tasty. We also had a buttered roll each and 2 pints of Madri (one was shandy) the bill was £34. Nice atmosphere with good background music. Very friendly staff. Immaculate toilets. Highly recommend 👍

We were staying for a few days in an Airbnb and saw there was live music on the Saturday evening. The bar was very busy but the staff were great and always smiling, music was good and the plates of food going out out looked delicious. There was a good atmosphere would certainly go back if we were in the area.

Lovely little restaurant/bar just off the sea front at Seaton Carew. The best fish and chips I had while I was staying in the area and some very nice cocktails on offer too. I Highly recommend!

Lovely surprise . Wonderful fish and chips . Two pints of Madri. Excellent tartare sauce , mushy peas and garlic mayo plus a tortilla wrap for £34. Made me think the cocktails and tapas must be wonderful as well . Best fish and chips ever and I lived in Whitby one summer .

Fantastic fish and chips, really well presented, quick efficient service.

Called for drinks only and enjoyed what we had. I found it hard to decide the category of this venue. Not really a bar or pub or cafe but that didn't matter. The lager was most welcome and the lady serving us very pleasant indeed. The interior has such a brilliant atmosphere. Well recommended.

Really nice meal fish and Chips top quality

We were in Seaton Carew for a day trip and as per the rules wanted to have fish and chips. We didn't fancy joining a queue outside as the weather was a bit iffy. We opened the door to this place and it looked a little dark inside and had no customers so we were a bit wary. However.... We were amazed at the price under £12 for fish, chips and peas. We werent expecting much at all for that price. We did have to wait about 15-20 mins However what arrived was arranged beautifully two good pieces of fish, chips, mushy peas, scraps, tartare sauce (possibly homemade), just a wrap and a lemon piece. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. For the price it really was a steal!! Whilst we were eating the place filled up and was full by the time we had finished. Really impressed 5*

Always out go to in Seaton. Food is amazing (those loaded fries 😍). Great atmosphere that attracts a great clientele. The service is amazing and the lovely lady who has made the supervisor is just fantastic! We will always be back :)

Great little hidden gem in Seaton carew right on the front ... Always top service friendly atmosphere very good food

Considering you're at the seaside it's a bit dark inside, also the chip quality has gone downhill as of, it seems they have gotten a bit rubbery and barely any full chips in a portion they seem to be the thin scab ends mostly.

Called in for fish and chips with the family and was absolutely delighted with the food and service. By far the best fish and chips I’ve ever had at a very reasonable price. The homemade tartare sauce was to die for!!! Will definitely be back thanks guys!

We have been here twice now and it’s a great little place to have a simple meal and a good pint. Decor and atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming with a particular charm, it is quite small but this is its charm. The staff are lovely and the young man who seems to run the place is lovely, pleasant and attentive to his customers. I believe that the food is prepared next door in the fish and chip shop, don’t let that put you off, as we had pie and mash there last time and was just as good as any other restaurant in the area. There is a small selection draft lagers and others that are bottled and a good range of other drinks as well as serving hot drinks, I can recommend the hot chocolate. I would definitely be returning when in Seaton Carew.

Lovely little place - great cocktails, amazing food, excellent service.

We popped in here for the first time after a long walk, we decided to share a grazing board and wow this is by far the best I've ever had anywhere! Excellent value for money, tasty and fresh. I'll definitely be back.

Had battered sprouts not to everyone's taste, but all i can they were absolutely amazing. The wife had battered squid, which she said were cooked perfectly we also shared some chips which we enjoyed. The hidden tap sells cocktails and other types of drinks. I would definitely recommend this place .

What a treat! Gorgeous atmosphere, really welcoming, and the staff were great. I had pizza, and hubby had the fish finger buttie, both were delicious. Quirky and fun decor. Could not fault a single thing. I couldn't finish my pizza, so was offered it to take home. Clean forgot about it, and the kind young man actually chased after us!! We will definitely be back

This place is net door to the mighty cod and the fish and chips comes from there plus they make a decent cuppa..most welcome

We popped in for a late lunch and were able to get a table - I think we arrived exactly at the right time! The staff were really friendly and the service was good. We both had fish and chips, one with mushy peas, one without. The fish was beautiful with nice and crispy batter. The basket of crispy bits was very moreish. Sadly neither of us had any room for the wrap. We'd definitely visit again, next time we are in the area.

Absolutely Love this place, food is AMAZING Staff were really helpful and friendly. DEFINITELY worth going and I'm recommending this place to anyone and everyone. It's a hidden gem . .. WELL DONE to the staff and management for opening this PLACE.

Didn't eat but good did actually look amazing, there's board games to play which we enjoyed, and tea coffee cold drinks and a nice IPA by crafty monkeys brewery. Parkings a bit of a squash, not my last visit here, I will be back soon

I thought its very small place let's go for a drink but is was really nice he ordered fish and chips I ordered loaded chips with chicken and omg worth it and its not very expensive

Absolutely love this place. I travel to Hartlepool regularly from London to visit family and we eat here every visit without fail. The staff are always so friendly and the food and drinks are always 5*. I asked for a strawberry daiquiri which I didn’t realise wasn’t on the menu but Micheal accommodated regardless and made me the most delicious strawberry daiquiri EVER! Look forward to many more visits here :-)

Went for a late lunch. Was advised to book as it's a small place. First impressions, it was small, but lovely inside. The service was outstanding. There was 3 of us for lunch, we all had fish and chips. One small and 2 regular. The fish was so white and so tasty. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. It was over 18s so no noisy children, so it was a lovely treat. We would definitely go back.

The Hidden Tap is a lovely little bistro bar. We had wonderful Fish & Chips, so tasty & well presented with home made tartare sauce & mushy peas. The staff are friendly & professional. Will definitely return!

Food was delicious and plentiful for 2 of 3 of us. The cod was very good and enjoyable. I will return again whenever I can.

I actually live in Seaton, and I frequent this place often: Their customer service is a clear 5 star and their staff are attentive and very welcoming. Highly recommend so if you visit us, please pay them a visit!

A group of us (9) visited on 22/7/23 as part of a memorial weekend for a family member and friend lost in May. Between our obligatory Snooker ( Thornaby Snooker Club) and 10 Pin Bowling at Larry's Lanes, we popped in here. What a find! Excellent food, friendly staff and efficient service - really well done. To be recommended!

The Hidden Tap is amazing, the staff are soo friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much for them. They have super mixology skills and can pretty much make any cocktail you want! The fish finger sarnies are to die for and such a calming and chilled environment.

Stumbled across this fantastic quirky bar had a cup of coffee staff were lovely so friendly definitely would recommend apparently they have live music on plus quiz nights will definitely be back . when you have a nice clean place and good welcoming friendly staff good service loved it

This is a little gem of a place. We were actually queueing for takeaway fish and chips when we noticed it tucked in beside the fish shop. My partner had fish and chips and I had fish with salad. I cannot praise the fish enough. It was beautifully white and thick and the batter was soooo good - crispy without being brittle. The salad dressing was so tasty as was the homemade tartare sauce. The prices weren’t much more that the takeaway but worth every penny. Well done to the two young guys running this bar. All in all a real lucky find. We’ll definitely be back for more

Popped in for a quick bite to eat and a pint with my sister. I had the small fish and chips which was fantastic nice white pieces of fish with mushy peas and curry. My sister had a southern fried chicken wrap which again was good and we shared some deep fried Brie again very good. My sister also had a cocktails which looked great and she said tastes nice

We have visited twice in the last two weeks and were lucky to get a table for two straight away as this little gem of a restaurant comes highly recommended and is very popular with locals and daytrippers alike. On both occasions the staff were so welcoming, friendly, polite and professional. We ordered cod and chips from the menu and when served was the meal was beautifully presented. To say the quality of the food was good is an understatement. Equally the home made tartar sauce is the best we have ever tasted. There is something on the menu to suit all tastes. We found the price to be very reasonable and we will certainly be visiting again. We highly recommend the Hidden Tap to anybody visiting Seaton Carew.

Brilliant food, staff and service

Lovely little place, been here a few times and we're never disappointed with the food,great fish and chips well presented at a good price

Surprised to find an up-market restaurant in place of the cafe we had been to four years ago. The fish and chips were still delicious; attractively presented and extremely reasonable. The young man and girl serving on looked after us very well. Only downside was that two families who came in with teenagers, expectantly looking forward to a warming lunch, were turned away as the children were under 18.

First time going there today and my partner and I really enjoyed it! Would recommend to anyone that fancies top quality food, drinks and customer service 👌 will 100% be going there again!

Could not fault the first and chips and the music only problem was the wrap that came with it was depressing. Also no bread and butter which is a deal breaker.

First visit to the Tap. called in with my wife Christine for our 6 o,clock table we reserved . We both ordered pizza , myself a pepperoni and Christine the goats cheese , caramelised onion and chutney pizza with a portion of chips. All food was delicious and well presented, pint of Amstel for myself was a lovely pint. All staff were pleasant and polite ,would have scored 5 but the menu was really limited, more options need adding to the menu.

Worst service of any bar I've been in bar staff just look at you and talk .while people wait to be served and tables are stacked with glasses etc

The manager (think his mame was ajay) was so rude showed zero level of professionalism and refused to serve me and my friend with no explanation. We left peacefully but other customers were in disgust

Absolute little gem in Seaton Carew! Really cool vibe, relaxed but no doubt lots of prep goes in to making it feel like that. We had chips for food (from next door's chippy) and they were spot on, the other food coming out looked fab too! Cocktails were well made and reasonably priced, I'd recommend the blueberry mojito 👌🏻 good music to accompany the vibe, and we even played a game of scrabble from the board games on offer. Will be back if we're in the area again!

Called in the Hidden Tap with my husband at lunchtime for fish and chips. My husband was apprehensive, but as I had been before, I knew the food was good. After the first couple of mouthfuls he was saying how good the food was, and that he was glad we went there instead of the pub he'd suggested. Friendly, efficient staff and good food. Well done the Hidden Tap. We'll be back.
