Stella's Room in Haringey

Soy habitual en Muswell Hill y restaurantes de Londres, siempre dejando comentarios positivos, pero mi experiencia en este lugar fue extremadamente decepcionante. El asado llegó seco, con salsa mínima, sin salsa, y lados absorbentes, haciendo que el plato sea difícil de disfrutar. Pedí cortésmente un poco de salsa extra, explicando que la comida estaba seca, pero me dijeron que necesitaría comprar una olla llena. Le pregunté si la camarera podía consultar con la gerencia, esperando que entendieran que solo quería disfrutar de mi comida. Regresó, diciendo que la gerencia insistió en que comprara más. Cuando pedí hablar con el gerente, me dijeron que estaba demasiado ocupado. Repetí la solicitud, sintiendo que era justo abordar esto con alguien a cargo, pero la respuesta siguió siendo la misma hasta que mencioné que compartiría mi experiencia públicamente. En cuestión de minutos, el gerente, Alex, finalmente se sentó a la mesa. En lugar de abordar la situación profesionalmente, preguntó bruscamente: “¿Qué necesitas?” Respondí que, dada la falta de cuidado de ellos, en realidad había perdido interés en discutirlo más a fondo. Su respuesta fue agarrar mi plato y esencialmente decirme que _________________. Es molesto ser tratado con tanta hostilidad cuando simplemente pide el servicio básico. Nunca recomendaría un lugar que trate a los clientes de esta manera: es inaceptable, y hay muchos otros restaurantes cerca que realmente se preocupan por las experiencias de sus clientes.

He estado viajando a lo largo y ancho de Gran Bretaña durante los últimos 5 meses. Siendo vegetariana he tenido múltiples desayunos ingleses completos. Casi TODOS han sido idénticos. ¡Hasta hoy! La presentación fue con clase, ingredientes deliciosos (especialmente el hongo portobello NO botones insípidos! ) y ambiente encantador. La música, el arte en las paredes y muebles acogedores. Para terminar con una cálida conversación con el encantador propietario y me fui muy satisfecho. Cerca de la perfección. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente!

Casual y buen rollo. Comida decente que da en el lugar. Sorprendido de que el lugar no es mucho más ocupado, pero lo hizo más fácil, ya que Nan fue capaz de chatear con todos nosotros sin ningún problema.

We frequently visit Stella’s room for brunch, we love the atmosphere and the staff are always friendly. Brunch is always a hit and good value for money. We are always happy to bump into Alexandra the owner who is always polite and accommodating :)

The absolute best BLT I have ever had but was jealous of all those with the bubble and squeak as it looked amazing. My partners full english was a hit! This is a busy little place with great atmosphere, great food and friendly staff!!!

One of the worst places to eat I've EVER visited.👎🏻 Ordered 2 battered fish burgers and chips. It took well over a half an hour to arrive. The fish was from frozen/boxed and tasted of metal. A solid ton of lettuce drenched in water ( I'm not referring to being wet... I picked it up and water streamed out of it puddling on the plate). Due to this, the buns were soaking wet underneath it all. We received less than a child size portion of cardboard chips on the side. The picture added will show this. Waiter never came back to ask if everything was ok. She ignored us even though it was very obvious that something was wrong. Most food was left on the plates. Was quite upset and asked for the bill. The same waiter came to our table, held out her hand with the card machine with £28 on it. I said to her that this meal was unacceptable. I explained to her that the fish was unpleasant, buns soaking wet, salad drenched in water (which I even showed her) She just looked at me still holding the machine. She didn't give a damn. No apology or to see if anything could have been done. She didn't care that the food was vile and made it very clear with her look Disgusting place with terrible food and terrible staff. Great start to the New Year Places like this should not be in good areas such as Muswel Hill.

We couldn’t get into Beam cafe (highly recommend) so we went here for brunch instead. It was broadly fine but nothing special. We asked for a side of extra bacon to go with an omlette, we received the bacon but it was literally one small piece. Asked the waitress if she wouldn’t mind taking it off the bill, she spoke to the manager who said no. So we paid £1.75 for a tiny piece of bacon.. Coffee fairly average too - you’re best off going to Gail’s next door.

A cute, unpretentious cafe on one of Muswell Hills main drags. We (foolishly) went there on a Sunday afternoon without any reservations, but they were able to accommodate us at one of their (rather sparse) outdoor tables. Food came out in a reasonable time for a Sunday lunch, and was pretty good- bubble and squeak, cafe latte, that sort of thing. Nice staff, very friendly and accommodating- a good choice for a casual meal, but make sure you book it on a Sunday! And I think the value was excellent, always a plus.

Great food. Especially enjoyed the mussels in beer. Good little find. Chilled atmosphere & AC kept us cool.

I have been here for breakfast/brunch 4 times now and I come back because the breakfasts are really, really good. There is a huge choice of cafe/restaurants in Muswell Hill (some local residents think there are too many) but this is one that I hope will thrive and stay. I can recommend their omelettes or scrambled eggs with mushrooms, cheese and spinach but when I was there there were two others congratulating the chef and they had something different.

great place to drop in for coffee, brunch or more. Lovely soup when available; good breaksfasts. Low-key, friendly, you can have a chat with a friend and not have to shout.

We couldn’t decide where to eat and then saw that Stella’s did a Sunday Roast so have it a go. First time here and so glad we chose to go in. We both had the braised lamb roast - yum! Great portion size, the lamb was delicious as was their 48 hour gravy. We were too full for anything else but will definitely be back for a roast and to try the normal menu.

Incredibly delicious mackerel and beetroot salad! Friendly service. lovely original artwork on the walls and inspiring decor.

The restaurant used to be something special; ‘ On The Hill ‘ when owned by the same owners of the once - famed, ‘ Mozart’s’ in Highgate. What the hell happened? The waitress was curt, charmless and totally unwelcoming. The manager had left as I entered, but I caught his expression, which was curious and, inquisitive as I entered. Some interest there, then. When I asked to see the menu, I actually was looking forward to the possibility of eating, but then I studied it, and as a vegetarian was put off. I felt quite detached and indifferent as the customers were all drinking coffee, and tap water I observed - with out exception. One man, elderly came later and was served with reluctance by the same truculent waitress, and as he was deaf she grew inpatient with him. He ordered a meal and she suddenly altered her brusque, curt manner. She was incapable of helping the disabled carer as he struggled entering with a loved one in a wheelchair, and I did the honours with extended initiative I asked if they’d like a third chair. The waitress then said ‘ It is okay- I can do it ‘, but clearly she couldn’t! Maybe, the special item of the white pepper stuffed with venison that put me off! I felt very unhappy at this point! Maybe, it had nothing to do with my first impression but, I won’t be coming back again. A great shame. It is a very comfortable design with character inside, and out.

Just a cut above the rest. Fine dining at a not too extortionate price. Just a shame there is so little space outside. Try the pies!

We tried a Sunday roast for Easter Sunday and it was absolutely fantastic! Probably the best Sunday roast we’ve had in London - and we will definitely be going back. Perfect meat, roast potatoes, greens and huge Yorkshire puddings accompanied with perfect gravy. Thank you so much!

I absolutely love going to Stella’s Room and go all the time. You feel like you’re sitting in a brasserie on the Rive Gauche - very friendly service, jazz playing at a low level in the background, and I’ve never had a plate of food that wasn’t delicious. Try the eggs Benedict for breakfast and their famous Sunday roasts... you won’t be disappointed!

this is a treasure and a special gem for muswell hill. the food is extremely good and the owners and staff are wonderful, very friendly and welcomimg. we go to stella's quite often and have never been disappointed. i highly recommend stella's. I urge anyone looking for really good traditional english food as well as other dishes to pay them a visit. ten out of ten

Unpretentious North London eatery. No fuss breakfast and lunches at good value. Around £12 for roast half chicken and chips (as for the hot sauce too). Washed down with a good German beer (apparently goes nice with chicken and didn't disappoint). Good value, great food...

We had dinner this Friday night at the restaurant before visiting the Everyman cinema opposite. The food was absolutely lovely (pork cheeks with mustard mash and kale, and haddock) and the portions were generous. Desert was a yummy apple and berry crumble with ginger custard....

What more do you need from a local restaurant? Went for breakfast... poached eggs and avocado were perfect, orange juice just right and cappuccino nice and hot. Recommend giving it a try.

A must visit North London gem. Very friendly service and the food is breathtakingly delicious. I had the halloumi salad with pomegranate dressing and venison steak. Highly recommended!
