Vegetarians and Vegans BEWARE. A restaurant brand like Bobs shouldn’t compromise the comfort of its clientele. The staff have the burden of trying to find a justification for the miserable excuse that there isn’t space in the kitchen for an additional fryer etc. Bobs - pull your finger out and satisfy all your clients else we’ll vote with our feet.

I can’t thank Andy enough for her kindness and thoughtfulness towards our group this afternoon. We’d gone in for a bite but had to deal with an overseas emergency midway through our meal. i visited with my elderly grandmother whose mobility isn’t the best. the staff were absolutely fabulous with her, assisting her to a seat, offering additional cushioning and regularly checking in on us. food was fab as always but the care had not gone unnoticed

Only wanted drinks at 3.30 in the afternoon. Constantly asked if we wanted food which got a bit intrusive. Unlike other reviewers with dogs, we did not have a friendly experience. Basically we felt that we were being made to feel uncomfortable so we wouldn’t come back, which is lucky as we won’t. Hopefully this was just a bad time and the other reviews are more characteristic.

This restaurant always greets us with a smile and offers great service! The food is tasty and they have a varied menu. I recommend for a casual lunch and they are family friendly.

Very nice restaurant with very good food, decent prices for Muswell Hill and an interesting menu. I would recommend this place. I had the Mexican dish with chicken and pancakes for dessert:). My niece had the Buttermilk Chicken Schnitzel (see pic) and it was big! The sweet potato chips were lovely.

Have come about 4 or 5 times now, and always bring guests from out of town here. Bob’s Cafe is a staple for me. Every time i have ordered something different and the food has been delectable each time. Staff and service are friendly and pleasant. I tend to book for midday on a weekend which means it’s often very busy. I find this off-putting but one cannot be surprised given the quality of the taste, service and atmosphere. From the French toast to cookie dough skillet to juices, there is something for everyone on the menu and there has not been a single item of food I haven’t enjoyed.

Loved it so much! A casual catch-up lunch with my friend. I'm a vegetarian, and the menu had generous options for me. Also, the desert was🤤Something else really important for me is that the service was excellent, warm, and genuine, especially our waitress, Andie. Toilets were clean, which is for me also something very important. In essence, it is a great spot in this area and definitely one of my new favourites 😍

I have no idea how this place has such great food reviews, perhaps we got the chef on a busy day.. but our brunch was really terrible. The mexican breakfast option was sold as a burrito/nacho type breakfast with beans, avocado, chorizo etc. It came out looking like a strange pizza/bean type mess - very unnapealing. The beans tasted like tinned baked beans (not very mexican!) the chorizo was sliced out of a packet, the salsa tasted like it was also out of a jar, the avocado portion abysmal. My partner had avocado and overcooked poached eggs and my sons pancakes were flavourless. Attentive service but so obviously trying to upsell every single dish - we we're very dissapointed overall.

Had lunch in bob’s prior to attending an old friend’s funeral in St James Church. Lunch was excellent service fantastic. Highly recommended. Reasonable cost.

Food tasty and well presented. Good variety. Staff friendly and efficient. Usually busy and can be noisy if you prefer a quiet meal. Tried the French Martini cocktail which was delicious. Ate the Veggie Chilli Bowl which is a generous portion as are most of their food items tbf.

On a frozen day with 2° outside we had to spent at least 15 min with the backdoor open because the delivery expected at 7 it was late, no one give us the choice of changing table even when there were empty tables, the reason? if you don't book them you don't have the right to use them instead enjoy the coldest lunch time ever. Pour service, pour response, in top of that instead of giving a honest apology, they don't forgot a service charge of 12,5% that of course I didn't pay. Sad experience because we rated best place in the area place for years.

But what truly set this visit apart was the exceptional service, particularly from an employee named Dave. He went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful time. From his warm welcome to his attentive and professional demeanor, Dave made us feel valued and cared for throughout the meal. It’s clear he takes great pride in his work, and it made all the difference.

This is such a lovely place. It's super busy and you're safer making a booking or you may be wanting a while. It's still worth the wait though. I've been here 2/3 times now and the service is always friendly, polite and super helpful. The team here are great. I've been here for breakfast, brunch and lunch and the food is fresh and tasty. We went there on a Saturday for lunch (the place was packed), and the lady by the door went above and beyond to find us a table, as we didn’t have a booking. Cannot fault this place on ther service or food. Took a seat outside and within one minute a lovely waitress came over and gave us water and menus. Food was absolutely delicious too. Yummy coffee too. When I visited on a rainy day it was pretty busy but the staff were very kind and made sure we were seated after quickly cleaning and relaying the tables. The service was still amazing when super busy.

Cold veggie burger and soggy chips - I’ve experienced a couple of awful takeaways from bobs last year due to dreadful wrapping food in foil but terrible in restaurant food today - I’m done.

Lovely atmosphere and lovely waiting staff. Burgers were nice but crying out for some salad and tomato. I’m not delusional and I don’t think a burger should be healthy but it just needed something to make it feel a bit less heart-attacky. Tried to order a side salad to put in the burger but I ended up with a bowl of broccoli and peas… so with resignation, I raw dogged the burger and ate the greens separately. Kids portions of French toast were very small even for a 3 year old. One small slice of bread each. They were still very hungry after and one of them ended up eating the underside of my wife’s burger bun. The burger sauce was excellent.

Lovely staff. Below average food. Had the earth bowl - everything was unseasoned and lots of elements were cold. My dad had the shrimp tacos - the shrimps were cold and seemed to have come from a packet/definitely weren’t grilled. The tacos used wheat tortillas and weren’t warm. The whipped feta was nice.

First time visit to Bob's Cafe yesterday, Saturday brunch, and I was well impressed. Food (I had a Middle Eastern Breakfast Plate - yummy) good and well presented; varied selection for veggie and non veggie, but almost most impressive - the service. Attentive, friendly, unhurried. It was a busy time for the Cafe but no sense of urgency in rushing customers out. Water was constantly replenished without asking. Really, TOP marks.

What a lovely cafe in the heart of Muswell Hill. My husband and I both had the huevos rancheros and it was delicious! We will be moving to the area and wanted to find our new go to and I think we’ve found the place! The staff were extremely friendly - it felt like they loved their jobs and wanted to be there which is honestly a rarity these days. We will absolutely be coming back and bringing our friends and family! Thank you

Ordered through Deliveroo, but the food was so amazing I had to leave a review here too! We tried Bob’s Cheeseburger, Chicken Schnitzel, Nachos, Fish Tacos, and a Chocolate Brownie. Everything was absolutely delicious but I want to give a special shout-out to the fish tacos and nachos. I usually don’t expect much from them since they’re often too spicy or just not to my liking, but these were a pleasant surprise! The tacos were perfectly balanced—I could easily remove the chili and still enjoy just the right amount of spice. The fillings for both the tacos and nachos were incredible, unlike anything I’ve had before. The brownie was also spot-on, with a generous side of liquid chocolate that made it even better. Can’t wait to explore more from the menu next time!

Restaurant Bob's Cafe Muswell Hill, North London On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, I took my two adult children (22 and 19) out for lunch in the Muswell Hill area. I chose Bob's Cafe on Muswell Hill Broadway, as I had enjoyed a visit there pre-COVID and was eager to see how they had fared since reopening. Both of my children have gluten intolerance, so I was pleased to find that Bob's Cafe offers gluten-free options on their menu. We kicked off our meal with some cocktails, classic nachos, and hummus served with gluten-free bread. I was upfront with the manager and staff about my role as a food critic, mentioning that my reviews had garnered over three million views in recent months. We then ordered Bob's Burger for myself and the same burger with gluten-free buns for my son, while my daughter opted for the chicken shawarma. The starters were decent, though I felt the gluten-free bread could have been toasted better. Traditionally, nachos come with a variety of toppings, but unfortunately, sour cream was noticeably absent this time. When our main courses arrived, my daughter's chicken shawarma was disappointing; it consisted of just two slices of chicken kebab accompanied by an unbalanced bitter sauce that made the dish difficult for her to enjoy. My burger was equally underwhelming—a chewy piece of meat that seemed more fat than actual beef, reminiscent of a fast-food experience rather than a quality meal. I brought these concerns to the manager's attention, but she responded with a simple, "I’m sorry you didn’t like it," before walking away. As I know, shawarma is a Middle Eastern dish made from marinated chicken that is seasoned with spices like cumin, paprika, turmeric, and garlic, then cooked on a vertical rotisserie. It should be served sliced thinly, either in a wrap or on a platter with sides like rice, hummus, or tabbouleh for a fulfilling experience. Despite the sweet demeanor of our waitress, who tried to coax the manager back to address our issues, the manager's lack of engagement left much to be desired. We ended up with a bill of over £100, but our disappointment overshadowed any satisfaction from the meal. We chose to seek dessert elsewhere, heading to “Planet Organic”. Given our experience, I can only award Bob's Cafe two stars—one for the starters and another for the kind waitress who was clearly new and seemed uncomfortable with the situation. I appreciate that you could accommodate my kids' gluten intolerance. It’s a shame the gluten-free bread didn’t get the same VIP treatment; maybe next time I’ll bring a toaster? About the sour cream on my nachos—who knew it was playing hide and seek? I’ll be sure to bring a magnifying glass next visit. Came across bob’s cafe as I did a special workout class with body by Ciara and dinner package at bob’s cafe. I was blown away from the experience. Imagine +40 very chatty energised women in one go. Bob’s cafe handled all of our orders perfectly. Even refilling our water pitchers without asking (which sometimes you don’t get when on a table for 2 in some places). The food was amazing - recommend the veggie chilli bowl! It was the perfect place to end our day! Thanks a lot and I’ll be coming back soon!

My aunt and I came here for lunch and loved it! The decor of the restaurant is very calming and classy and the staff are fantastic, so very attentive and friendly. We ordered the cheeseburger and the chicken schnitzel burger which arrived in less than 10 minutes and was very delicious. I highly recommend this place, it’s quickly going to become a new favourite I think!

Llegamos bajo la lluvia sin reserva y nos llevaron directamente a la parte trasera del edificio - inicialmente un poco confuso nos dimos cuenta de que era mejor para nosotros y nuestro perro mojado! Pedí café inmediatamente y el personal muy atento fue servicial y rápido. Una vez ordenado nuestros desayunos llegaron rápidamente, la comida estaba caliente y fresca. Todo estaba delicioso en nuestro inglés completo - decidimos probar las tostadas y tortitas francesas en nuestra próxima visita!

They held a table for six for us in the window despite it being so busy. The manager made us feel like stars in our own show. The food was prompt and delicious. And the whole team did a great job in ensuring we had a great time. Five stars all round
