Happy to find the Steam Cafe open after reading previous reviews before we arrived in Grosmont. Wood oven baked pizza available Monday and Friday 5 pm to 7 pm served in the garden. Dessert options also available. Excellent pizza small range of interesting flavour combinations available. Open as cafe 10 - 4 ( Thursday to Monday I think ) We enjoyed our Monday evening so much we have booked to go back on Friday.

This was a great spot for a bite to eat in the evening. The pizza and wine deal was great for two. Wonderful setting in the gallery. Sad to see they've left Grosmont.

The pizzas here are absolutely amazing. You will be delighted - as was I - especially with their special that features walnuts and figs. One of the most delicious combinations that I have ever tasted

Arrived at the cafe hungry after a riverside walk. Staff very friendly, lovely menu and freshly cooked food. Very jealous of what others had ordered. We settled for the Chef’s Special soup and we weren’t disappointed. A hidden Gem with a great artist gallery inside.

Had a brilliant lunch here, plenty of choice, had soup and toasties and the portions were generous. Toasties filled with thick cut "proper" ham and on fresh thick bread. Cakes were delicious, I think it's possibly the best carrot cake I've ever eaten! Great coffee and we weren't rushed at all. Nice quirky decor and so nice to have lunch surrounded by such incredibly beautiful art, Chris Geall is a very talented man! Staff are friendly and happy to chat about the gallery and the local area. Dog friendly.

Highly recommend if you are holidaying in the North Yorkshire Moors - a real gem! Will definitely be returning - hopefully soon 👏❤️

Stayed in the Gallery B&B so it was great to be able to pop downstairs for a brilliant meal. We had two pizzas (one of which was a Christmas special - turkey, Brie, Brussels, cranberry sauce - superb!). Good selection of Whitby Brewery beers on offer. Great staff, great service, really friendly owner. Some great looking sausage rolls on offer. Highly recommended!

Popped in for a pizza whilst staying at a local lodge. It was an impromptu visit. The pizza bar moonlights as a gallery (or vice versa!) Food was delicious. There was a minor hiccup with one of our pizzas but this was quickly remedied by the friendly staff who gave us a free drink by way of an apology. Quirky little place and highly recommended!

After a lovely morning in Whitby we decided to call in at Grosmont to see the old steam engines. Having parked the car we were a little peckish so decided to find a cafe for a quick pit stop. We stumbled across the Steam Cafe, what an awesome little find. We ordered some hot drinks, a chocolate brownie and a HUGE size of strawberry cake. WOW, the cakes were to die for, absolutely stunning! Really quirky spot, great menu, everything from tea to IPA beer, crumpets to pizza. Lovely gallery on the premises to look round to top off the trip.

Myself and a friend visited in November. We had taken a North Yorkshire Moors Railway trip from Grosmont to Goathland (Hogsmeade Station in the first Harry Potter film), then walked back to Grosmont. The first cafe we saw in Grosmont was ‘The Old School Coffee Shop’, but they had “run out of food” (yes really!). However, we were given a warm welcome and food by the staff at Steam Cafe in the village (opposite Grosmont railway station car park entrance/exit). I ate a ham & cheese toasted sandwich (£5) and drank a latte (£2.50). There was a relaxed atmosphere and a artists workshop with paintings available to purchase.

Well what can I say....... Not only the BEST coffee, the tastiest food, most amazing pizza, deliciously homemade cakes and as for the staff!! You guys are amazing and that's a total understatement. Some people thrive on putting small successful businesses down but considering you've not been going long, you are a total tonic and breath of fresh air to the steamy Grosmont. You have added the spice to the variety!! Whether alone or part as a party these guys n gals tick all the boxes and make you FEEL extremely welcome. All I can say is be careful what you read, far too many judgementals out there!! Try it for yourself, you won't be disappointed!!

My wife and I visited after seeing a sign scribbled on a chalk board during the day. It's an innovative little pop-up based in the vaults under Scarborough Market Hall, where there are craft and vintage shops by day. Manned by owner Paul who is very knowledgeable and chatty, we were treated to some superbly kept wines in a quietly informal atmosphere. It's a far cry from the hoi-polloi and bustle of Scarborough drinking holes, and one which must be prized. Top work, we'll be back.
