The food was delightful - compliments to the chef and the service was excellent - Even though all the staff were nice and friendly- the two young lads Owen & Jamie provided an excellent service and both worked very hard. They were friendly and helpful - Nice to see these days - will definitely visit again.

The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was nice, i can recommend the sea bass. The only down side is the atmosphere, it felt like a works canteen so not a place for a romantic meal (even with the Christmas decorations that were up in October. Prices average or the meal types but they were cooked and presented well. Breakfast was good too.

There were lots of choices for breakfast from a hot buffet, or cereals as well as toast and croissonts etc. The evenings offered a roast every night plus lots of other alternatives.

Had to dine here as staying at the hotel. Nothing else nearby. Food is awful and as bad as the hotel. I tried to play safe and had a steak and kidney pie with vegetables. They were frozen and cold when biting into them. Upon ordering I asked for peas and extra veg which I paid for but after waiting whilst eating some of this gloop the waiter said they had run out of veg?? I left the meal as it was inedible to return to the nightmare of the room in such a terrible run down place. The entire stay was a nightmare! Don't eat or stay here unless you want frozen veg and a terrible overall experience.

Wow! If you can eat just about anything then you'll be ok. This should not be referred to as a restaurant but as a canteen. The carvery option doesn't come close to any pub we've ever visited. Steer clear, it isn't worth the money (and we got it complimentary!!)

False advertising to even call this a restaurant. With some of the lowest quality ingredients available, costing regular hotel restaurant prices, words cannot express how disappointing this site is.The adjoining hotel is grim, and your journey to the restaurant is indeed a awful trip through a poorly maintained site. The carvery is just bad. deserts are bad. But the soup - actually ok.Everything else - bad bad bad. Service is a mixed bag. Don't expect anything to restaurant standard. Feels more like a charity offering food for the homeless at Christmas (I speak from experience). It doesnt get much worse than this.

We (Me, mum, my sister, daughter and Grandson) went for boxing day carvery, we should have guessed it wasn't going to be great as we were the only people there, We got there at twenty past one and told they stopped serving the carvery at two o'clock, we commented on how empty it was, we were told it had been like that all afternoon!!! We ordered our drinks and went to get our starters, pureed vegetable soup served in really cold bowls, the waitress asked how our starters had been, we mentioned about the soup, the waitress told the chef who then came out with a thermometer put it in the soup pan then went to walk back into the kitchen, we asked if he thought it was ok, he said it was quite hot really and it will have been with the bowls being so cold it would have made the soup go cold very quick. The carvery was no better, although the plates were hot!! The meat, pork or beef were both very tough and chewy, none of us ate the meat, the veg was just warm and had obviously been sat under the heat lamps for a very long time and there was a layer of skin on top of the gravy (yuk) Needless to say we didn't bother with dessert!! I would NOT recommend the restaurant here at All, I can't give an opinion on the hotel itself as we did not stay there and I certainly wouldn't now.

The best breakfast ive had at a hotel in the UK. They have prided themselves by using really quality ingredients..the baked beans tasted like heinz! The eggs cooked to utter perfection. We had dinner and the carvery dinner was fresh and delicious. Ok the soup starter was disappointing But it was uphill from then on.I had the salmon which when i got to the counter was half eaten and the server duly offered to get me a new one. He cut me a big portion and i picked my sides. They had 4 cake style deserts, cream and some tinned fruit. If this was a restaurant which wasnt part of the hotel i would definitely come back.

The menu in this restaurant at this hotel looks very nice, and sounds lovely until it arrives. Starter - mushrooms on bloomer with Stilton. Well that's what the menu said it wasn't what arrived. What arrived was a bin piece of bread with a heap of rocket to cover the bin parts, two huge mushrooms stuffed with two small mushrooms and a balsamic glaze drizzled right across the plate from one side to the other for no reason. Main - lamb rump. The waitress kindly asked me how I would like it cooked, I asked for medium, became chargrilled burnt to a cinder within an inch of its life, poor thing. Sadly I didn't finish it as I couldn't cut through it. Dessert - creme brûlée. As you can imagine eating the above, or not, I opted for my favourite pudding and have to say I wasn't disappointed it was very nice. However I have seen this pudding many times before in my local pub I know that exporting from Booker cash-and-carry so really the chef didn't need to do anything apart from stick it on a plate and pass it to the waitress to take to me! Overall pretty disappointed, my advice is just go straight for dessert

Me and my boyfriend booked into the restaurant on valentines evening. The waitress that was checking us into the restaurant didn't have a pen so not a great start. She then took us over to a table, where we sat down and waited for a drinks order to be taken, about 15 minutes later a young girl appeared with a piece of till roll ripped and a chunky marker pen. Not very professional as I work in a hotel and have worked in restaurants before I thought you were suppose to have a check pad and a normal Pen.She took our order very politely we received our meals about 45 minutes later, I ordered the sirloin steak and my Boyfriend had ordered the Lamb. As I cut into my steak I could tell already that it was over cooked and the mushrooms were raw, they looked like they had been put in the deep fat fryer for about 2 seconds. I called the waitress over and explained what was wrong, she apologised and sent it back to the kitchen, she returned about 10 minutes later with a fresh steak which was cooked beautifully in the end however the mushrooms were so hard this time you could bang them on the plate and hear a banging noise by this point I had gone past caring, I just wanted to eat. We ordered dessert and that was delicious. We did complain to the Host at the front of reception but she just have a false apology. The next morning we went for breakfast in the restaurant looking forward to having a hot cooked breakfast. We sat down with the breakfast and non of the so called hot food was even luke warm. Just a disaster if you ask me from start to finish. This restaurant and hotel really needs to up its game as I work in the hotel industry and know theses are not the standards of a good restaurant and hotel.

£7.50 for rubbish. Stale bread, even though it's for toast, still not excusable. Their fruit is far from fresh. Every piece is canned. Tea and coffee is self-service. Whilst not being a problem, it would nice to be directed. Hot breakfast is over cooked and then over cooked again under the heat lamps. No offer from staff should we require poached, boiled eggs or if we required a vegetarian option. To be honest, the breakfast area was extremely busy. There were 3 in total including my colleague and I. We did strike up a conversation with one 'lovely, charming waitress'. We went to sit down by a window, to be rudely told, only use the tables with cups. Well that told us. Bit of a captive audience where the hotel is located, but I'd rather travel on the 56 eastbound and go to Lymm McD's or Moto's latest service area

We had the joys of the 3 course £12 carvery whilst staying at the adjoining hotel. I'm a firm beleiver in you get what you pay for, but one slice of meat with your cavery!? Come on!! The choice was turkey, turkey or turkey. You were given one piece which the server said was the choice (either that or "2 small slices" which I can only imagine would look at home in the fridge at Asda with a Bernard Matthews label on). No yorkshire, carrots , sprouts and broc for your veg and not a lot else. Soup was ok in fairness to start, dessert was a help yourself to some cash and carry style gateaux. Ribs were barely meat, and what was there looked reformed. The chicken was still pink yet the coating was burnt. All kept warm by candles!!!!Then the main, roast beef. Usually a favourite of mine. Beef was tough you needed a hacksaw to cut it, the veg was still partially frozen and hard, and the potatoes were hidden under so much salt and still frozen in the middle. Then pudding. None of the cakes were labeled to to tell you what they were. I opted for the crumble labeled as mixed fruit and toffee crumble. The crumble topping was the best part of the meal, however the fruit was orange and something I was unable to identify.Far from impressed, and don't think I'll return even for the breakfast I've paid for in the morning.

We had a choice of pork, gammon (more pork) or nothing. They had run out of roast spuds, there were a few cauliflower stalks in the bottom of the dish and if we were prepared to wait there would soon be cabbage available, whoopsy-doo, cabbage is coming soon! Yes, I did say that we had booked a table for 9:15pm, but nobody took the trouble to inform chef (assuming they actually have a chef). A neighbour recommend a visit to this place, she raved about the selection of starters, that the roast dinner was superb and the proffiter rolls scrumptious. Began to wonder if we were in the same place....Starters consisted of spicy potato soup... (not spicy at all, basically just blended up yesterday's left overs with extra seasoning), cold spring rolls, coleslaw, potato salad and a very insipid tuna pasta....The roast dinner choice was beef and gammon, with a selection of overcooked veg, (carrots, broccoli and cauliflower ) hard new potatoes, grey roasties and gravy that had congealed fat floating on it. The gammon was raw, the beef overcooked and tough enough to resole your shoes......Thinking that maybe the proffiter rolls would redeem the whole meal, we were confronted by 3 gateaux. Black forrest, chocolate fudge and a strawberry, served with a jug of single cream,,,No PROFFITER ROLLS...My recommendation would be drive on by.......

Shockingly awful food. Very limited menu to start with, and all food looked like it had either sat stewing for hours or was cooked by someone with no knowledge of how to cook. The mushroom starter was pathetic. A piece of dry "toasted" bread with a field mushroom the size of a. 50 pence piece, topped with a brown mush that was meant to be Stilton. I have never seen Stilton look or taste like that. Also served Luke warm, and throwing a handful of rocket on top does not really constitute a salad. I had low expectations on the belly pork. And they weren't exceeded. The meat tasted burnt on the top, and in my experience the meat should fall apart not take a fair bit of exertion to cut through. It was like a piece of leather. The veg was like mush. Must be how the coach parties of old folk like it. However I prefer some flavour and texture. The staff were great and I felt sorry for the waitress. The manager did a good job of resolving. We ended up ordering something from the bar menu next door, which is the better option.

Went in 2011 and it was lovely however 2012 different story the meal was dreadful everything just slapped on the plate and if the meal being bad was not enough they overcharged us by £40 and the reason I have waited before reviewing is to give them chance to refund us but it never happened. Christmas 2013 I will be cooking my own Christmas Day meal and will never again go to the Daresbury.

Booked as a treat. Daresbury used to cook the best steaks on their open grill area. Village has taken over and trashed the restaurant. Nothing worth eating on their laminated menu, and certainly no wine menu offered and nothing decent to eat with a good bottle of wine anyway.

What a place. Food amazing, huge selection of drinks, and the staff couldn't have done enough. Belle and Liv did everything the could for us. It's a great please for family's to come and eat even on a budget with all the great deals they have

Typically people who have a negative one time experience tend to leave reviews. I have consistently gone to this sweet dessert place for five years now. Not once have I had a bad experience either with the food or the people who run it including the people behind the counter. My food has always been properly cooked, steaming hot and full of goodies with no holding back on the extras. I’ve had their pancakes or waffles there ice cream shakes I’ve sampled almost everything on the menu. It has been a once a week treat for me and my friends for five years and it has been consistently excellent service and excellent food. The people behind the counter I’ve been over the top warm and friendly unlike a lot of encounters in businesses around here who sometimes make the customer feel like they are putting them out to serve them. They make a point of giving you a friendly greeting warm and inviting when you walk in the door and are always glad to see you when you come and unlike some other places make you feel like they appreciate your business every single time. The food is to die for if you have a sweet tooth and everything is made fresh with the freshest ingredients. The fruit Is fresh, the batter is made fresh every day. I have watched them go through candy bars to check for expiration dates and any bananas with the slightest Brown get tossed. If you haven’t tried them please give them a try before paying any mind to the negative reviews of someone who may have had a one-off bad experience years ago. I promise you will not regret it.

Good food and value for money. Especially nice gammon, parsnips, runner beans, Yorkshire puddings and roasted potatoes. But is there a food preparation/storage issue as both PIB (pigs in blanket) and the crumble of the apple crumble (both fatty foods) tasted stale. Then at arrival, why does the reception waiter try to sit you right next to a noisy table in a practically empty room?

Seemed nice and clean and welcoming inside. We had one cheese ploughman's roll and one turkey and stuffing roll. To drink, two cappuccinos and then a small chocolate shortbread. It came to £22. I was so shocked at the price that I queried it, which I wouldn't usually do. Turns out that the rolls cost around £7.50 each, even though the displayed price on them was around £4.65. I was told this was the eat in price. Shame that was not clearly displayed anywhere. I was actually told that it should have cost £24 but we had been given a discount on the shortbread. Nothing was provided with the prepackaged rolls, like a salad garnish. So, extremely expensive for a roll and coffee. The food was nice enough but I felt overcharged and annoyed that the "eat in" price was not clearly shown. Will make sure we don't visit any of their shops again. We eat out a lot and I have rarely felt so ripped off.
