Good food and value for money. Especially nice gammon, parsnips, runner beans, Yorkshire puddings and roasted potatoes. But is there a food preparation/storage issue as both PIB (pigs in blanket) and the crumble of the apple crumble (both fatty foods) tasted stale. Then at arrival, why does the reception waiter try to sit you right next to a noisy table in a practically empty room?

Went on 24 Oct 2024. Belated birthday meal for myself and sister in law. Party of 5 adults and two children. Arrived at 6.20 and was told carvery closed as run out of stuff. We placed order from main menu and were informed there was a 30 min delay. 45 mins later still waiting so we asked what was happening. Also noticed that carvery was open Then they brought the children’s meals, but completely wrong ones so we sent them back. asked how long and they said about 30-40 mins. We went to complain and asked for a refund of 1 adult and the two children’s meals as they were hungry and couldn’t wait any longer. When we asked the manager what the problem was we were told a lot of checks on in kitchen. 30 min later they came with one of the adult meals which again was incorrect ordered plain chicken burger got double beef burger, again sent back. Other 3 adult meals arrived only luke warm and my chicken didn’t looked cooked, there was a watery substance under the chicken. Finally the chicken burger arrived again Luke warm. There was no checkbacks or apology given so we left. Would not go back there again.

Came in today as a group of 9 some of are party travelled from wales for a carvery as they love coming here. When we arrived we was welcomed by Charlotte on the door we all had carvery and was served by Liam always very welcoming when at carvery Natasha and Kandice came to check everything was okay with our meals highly recommend this place.

The staff were amazing in there especially the front of house Allan who welcomed me and my friend with open arms and was very happy to answer any questions we may have had. Had the worse experience here,booked a table for birthday meal no carvery on as run out of meat,then waited over a hour for food an when it come was missing cheese an bacon on burgers then 1 of the kids burger was still frozen so did get another one but by time it arrived we were leaving so had to take it home.

We love this place for the friendly staff and some great food, the carvery and breakfasts are exceptional. Hospitality and service is very high and customer care is paramount. **2024 update** Still maintaining the high standard of food and service, sadly no jam or marmalade served at breakfast atm..bring your own 😀

Lovely breakfast this morning for our nieces birthday 😍 All the staff were lovely and super patience with our children. Food was fresh and hot and the seating area was nice and clean. Gorgeous food as always. We love coming here the foods always fantastic and the staff are so helpful and approachable. We had our wedding dinner here in August 2023 and everyone raved about the quickness of service and the carvery. Allen on the door who greets you is always so lovely and happy to help with anything you need. Highly recommend the Evenwood to anyone who is looking for some good hearty pub food.

We headed to Evenwood, as the kids were wanting to try the new cake on offer, and it didn’t disappoint … the new Halloween one!, so tasty we even had ice cream worth a visit!

Nipped into the Evenwood Farm for a bite to eat at dinnertime. Lovely to see staff like Carol and Helen who greet you like an old friend and to who nothing is too much trouble. Thank you ladies 😊. We had the two course meal of fish & chips followed by a very generous-sized serving of apple crumble with thick custard....just gorgeous 😋.

A good amount of food arrived warm. which sometimes happens with deliveries. So I just reheated it and throughly enjoy it. Would recommend.

Two miss it cake because I order three cake with meal the only one cake cost 17 pound for three cake I am annoyed that miss it two cake I want refunded 2 money back

The food was dry and cold , the tiny Yorkshire pudding was squashed in a separate bag , the vegetables were dry like they had been sitting out all day the beef was chewy and the turkey was so dry , there was 1/2 a tub of gravy each and the potatoes and mash were the exact same dry and cold even though the order was put in and food delivered within 20 minutes so not delivery related it was packed and sent out like this , £30 for 2 meals that went in the bin , positive note the stuffing was nice

Came today for a roast which was amazing meat was lovely really enjoyed it. Karl was amazing alway friendly and makes you feel very welcome he is a credit to the Evenwood just good all round place to eat.

Come on Sunday 15/9/2024 - 5 Adults and 9 month old baby, all got the carvery, 3 went upto the carvery whilst 2 stayed with the baby - We were not advised of long waiting times on arrival and had booked a table prior to coming, First 3 qued for 25mins to get there dinner, the second 2 then qued for 30 mins, we all ate at separate times, asked one of the staff about cabbage he said 20 min wait, we commented on wait times already experienced and its wasn't very good and the staff answer was yea not really and then walked off, we was out as we had family here from Bristol completely ruined dinner. Plates were not cleared had to move them on to a another table behind that had not been cleared either. Really let down by the whole experience.

Went to the pub late last night and the carvery was still superb, most carvery’s aren’t the best near the end of service, but this one was superb, all the meat was tasty, the veg was spot on and the roast potatoes were nice and crispy, friendly staff, superb evening .

Unable to book a table as they dont answer the phone. Staff said they dont have time. We had carvery which was good. Dessert was ridiculously large, one portion enough for 3!

I specifically wrote in the notes to leave off some items and add others to my carvery. I was given what I didn’t want and not given what I’d asked for. So left half my meal. Disappointed

Everyone was hungry and it had been a long day it was just your standard carvery nothing special really, there was only one very harassed young lady on the till and she coped very well and was pleasant too the carver was not the best in his manner and service but food was better than other farmhouse inns we have visited, tables were cleared quickly.

The food was really good but the table service was really poor. Had to get chasing the staff to come and attend to us. I noticed others sitting nearby were having the same problem. I hope it is only a temporary problem they are having as it is one of my favourite restaurants.

Delicious food as per, but extra delicious and enjoyable this particular time having the extra satisfaction from staff. karl serving the food was very kind and had a great attitude with ourselves and our children especially.

We used to come every week but haven’t been since lockdown. We went in memory of one of our friends. We were greeted by Allan like long lost friends making us feel extremely welcome. Service was quick , waitress was very polite and friendly. Allan went above and beyond to make our Evenwood experience excellent.

Karl the man who works at the carvery was exceptionally helpful with my elderly mum, he helped plate her meal, and advised her on any and all allergy advice. 10/10 customer service, fantastic employee

Impromptu family breakfast. The breakfast was glorious. The best buffet breakfast I’ve had in years!! Hot, fresh and plentiful. Venue was clean and well presented. Staff were pleasant. I will be back

I always go for the roast dinner buffet or morning breakfast buffet. There's a wide selection of vegetables and different meats, paxo. If you want Yorkshire pudding and pigs in blankets, there's an extra charge. There's also a standard menu and fleshly prepared cakes and bar area. There is plenty of seating in the dining and bar area and outside. Toilets as you walk in. Big free car park. Sunday is always very busy, and there are queues. They provide a takeaway service. Can reserve tables

A most pleasant lunchtime visit with a close friend. Food, service and atmosphere were top notch. Very good value as well.

I have been on a few occasions and each time I have been there has been hardly any food! On one occasion there was no steak, fish, gammon, lasagna or black pudding. On tonight’s visit there was only gammon on the carvery! For such a big chain I cannot believe how poor the choice of food was! It’s not as if the food is top notch either! The chips were dry, the fish was overdone, the button mushrooms were as if they came out of a tin, the vegetarian option was also limited. I can’t cook but I have to say I could probably do a better job, it’s not hard to operate a microwave The staff didn’t really seem that bothered either! I can’t say I’ll be rushing back!

Can't fault the Food. However, the Organisation in the place was none existent. I would be very surprised if there was some people falling down with Covid19. They should have done things Table by Table going up for the Carvery.

Lovely food as always. Our only gripe was the queue for the carvery, 30 minutes stood waiting is a bit excessive, but worth the wait.

Karl on the carvery station is very polite and helpful. He makes you feel valued as a customer. The food is delicious. I will definitely be back.

One small piece of fatty stringy beef, they’d swapped gammon for pork - I don’t eat pork. Two ‘roasties’ that looked boiled, hard and cold roasties and the biggest lump of stuffing I’ve ever seen. Mash and gravy was nice - not for £17 though. Swerve it!

Came for a quick fix as we’d been out all day and couldn’t be bothered cooking, wish we did. Food was below average, woman placed my plate down then leaned across my food trailing a dirty cloth in my food. Tried to laugh it off as they fell of the plate, really didn’t find it amusing. My advice would be to stay home and microwave your own food rather than paying these to do it.

We came with our two young children. We all really enjoyed our food and the staff were outstanding. The place was very busy, but superbly ran. Meet and greet directed to a table. Bar staff jumping on and off the till to help reduce the queue. Friendly serving staff. I honestly couldn't fault the experience. I will be back for sure.

Lovely place for a family meal and get together. Shame there was no space for a slice of mahusive cake afterwards! Thank you for attentive service particularly with members of our family who had particular needs 😁

Average . There was no meet and greet even though was a sign to wait to be seated , after 7-8 minutes of waiting decided to take matters in my own hands and ask at the bar . Managed to sort out a table and to place my order . Not too many types of beer , just like 4 or 5 on draft , ordered for lunch one of their 3 course menu listed . Soup was flavourless completely, same with the gravy and cauliflower with cheese. The roast beef was delicious, the mashed potatoes were puffy/creamy delicious. Very nice display of deserts , great atmosphere inside , lovely setup of the roast area .

I have been using Too Good to Go and Evenwood Farm for some time. Recently, I ordered 2 carveries. When I arrived to collect them, there were 2 sealed boxes waiting, each marked "veg". The girl behind the counter asked me what I had ordered, and when I said "2 carveries" she looked confused and said "with meat?" "Yes", said I and showed her my receipt. She then went into the kitchen and came back saying that the waiting meals were mine. Obviously, when I got them home, there was no meat. I tried calling Evenwood Farm, but there was no answer. If I'd wanted a plate of (mainly potatoes) vegetables, I'd have got them out of my freezer and it wouldn't have cost me £9.50! UPDATE: Despite the public answer and despite my having done, as requested and contacted them direct, the Evenwood Farm has not responded to either of my TWO messages. Absolutely terrible customer service. FURTHER UPDATE Finally got a response from Evenwood Farm offering 2 free carvery boxes. I replied saying I would rather have a refund and, guess what? No reply. Shocking. FURTHER UPDATE I had the pleasure of speaking with Charlotte, the manager. She was very apologetic and could not have been more helpful. Faith in humanity restored!

Good pub/restaurant. They have an all you can eat breakfast of a morning and also carvery later on in the day both of which is very nice and the prices are also good. They have a great selection of cakes/deserts which will be a big hit for anyone with a sweet tooth. The place is a descent size and there is plenty of parking but does get busy especially for the carvery so might be worth booking in advance.

This place is the pits. Noisy kids running around everywhere.Long Queues for food and drink and the food ( carvery) is slop! Chef who serves the meat is a right misery guts and is also mean with the meat. Why dont they have a distinctive and orderly dedicated line for food and also one for drink? Is it too hard to implement?????

The service I had this morning was impeccable, I'll start there. We turned up late for the breakfast window, but Carol was having none of that being a problem (legend). She grabbed a menu, and pointed at a table and said that tables yours! To the order point! We had 5 mins to get an order in, and paid for to still hit the last of the breakfast window so off we went and got ordered. Cue Julie in the kitchen! (Legend #2), Julie was due on her break before the lunch session and we said there was no rush and to enjoy her break... but no! Not Julie! This legend comes back from break to smash out some lovely breakfasts before resuming her break. If that isn't epic service, I dunno what is! So here's me, with two fed mini humans, and a chilled Monday afternoon ahead of us... Well played Carol and Julie, keep doing what you're doing, you're amazing!

First time visiting Evenwood Farm, decided on the carvery as it looked really good we (my sister and I) were served by a nice guy named Karl. Took very little time to order at the bar, all the staff in this place were pleasant and had a nice word to say to all. The carvery appeared fresh was plentiful and hot, tasted good too. All in all a very pleasant experience looking forward to next time.

Missing meal and the one meal that did arrive was cold and burnt so ended up in the bin. Will never order again.

Toast was like cardboard and not buttered, also missing the black pudding

Came in on the 12th July had a carvery which was fresh and lovely. Our sever was Jade who couldn't do enough. Kept out drinks topped up. Took all empty plates etc away once finished. Checked on us to check all was ok and was really friendly. Lovely experience. But definitely a big shout out to Jade

Only 3 out of 4 meals have arrived. Rang back and told the other one would arrive asap. That was now a hour ago.

Cold, dry, horrible fatty stringy meat. Totally substandard food. Absolute joke that ive just paid for such rubbish. Never again

This used to be a lovey places to go for drinks and food, but after my experience to i would not go back even if it was free!! They had no diet drinks no zero drinks, little to non in the zero alcoholic drinks that is disappointing especially when the weather is nice and you fancy something refreshing to drink. I went for the roast and that was just a big disaster as the drinks where there where shrivelled new potatoes, rock hard roast potatoes, when i asked if they where bringing out any more i had to wait 5mins for them and i got give 3 on a plat that had just come out of the fryer so they where chrispy on the out side and concrete on the inside absolutely un eatable, that vegs was disgusting. When they came to clear the table, girl drops all the plats and reminder of what food was left from every ones plats all over the floor, iv been to road side cafes with a better overall food and service. I will not be returning!!
