Steak and Company Gloucester Road in Kensington and Chelsea

We came upon this restaurant while wandering around near our hotel and I’m glad we found it! The staff were wonderful and very attentive. The whole family managed to find something on the menu that suited their taste (carnivores, pescatarian and vegetarian). The food was excellent and the cocktails were thoroughly enjoyed. Definitely a place to go back to if I’m ever in Kensington again.

Visited London last weekend and found this place by our hotel. Smelt lovely and looked busy but not packed so popped in for dinner. Such a wonderful meal and the service was excellent!! My son had the sirloin and said it was one of the best steaks he ever had. My husband had the sea bass and really enjoyed it. I had the vegan burger and mac cheese side and even for a steak place, the vegetarian food was excellent! Would 100% recommend.

Visitamos Londres el fin de semana pasado y elegimos este restaurante como era por nuestro hotel. Estoy de acuerdo con otros en que no es barato, pero valió cada centavo. El personal era encantador y muy atento. Gran cócteles y comida! Mi hijo tenía un solomillo y le encantaba. Mi marido tenía toda la lubina y yo tenía la hamburguesa vegetariana con macarrones y queso a un lado. ¡Todo sabe maravilloso! Los budines también eran encantadores. fabuloso ambiente también. Iría de nuevo mañana si no fuera tan lejos para viajar.

We were staying in the nearby "Bailey's Hotel" and thought we might give this Restaurant a try : we were delighted we did ! Having pre-booked & been warmly-received, we were appreciative of being allowed a degree of choice in our Table and impressed by the extent of the Menu choices : they don't just do a wide variety of Steaks, but, commendably, offer a number of other choices as well. M, my Wife, went with an 8oz Fillet, delivered totally in keeping with her Medium-Rare preference, my own Chicken Schnitzel (enhanced with a Fried-Egg on top) was equally "spot-on", we shared a portion of Broccoli & I indulged M's preference for "Chips" (rather than "Fries"). And the not inexpensive "Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc" was pretty good too ! Overall ? We greatly enjoyed our visit here, and next time we're in the neighbourhood will come back again : in the meantime our thanks to the hospitable Manager & Staff at this "Steak & Company" outlet...

Family dinner while visiting London. Staff were friendly and service was good. Food was underwhelming. Tiny hamburger in large brioche bun, one of three steaks cooked as requested. Deserts average at best. Prices far exceed quality of food.

The food was delicious, although the portions are very small, but you pay a lot for it. You don't get anything with your steak, you have to order everything and therefore pay extra for it. For example, a tablespoon-sized tub of pepper sauce costs a whopping £3.5…

I got up early on Monday and went to eat. When I arrived around 11:30, there was no one to help me, and I didn't see any staff there. One sign said it started at 11 o'clock, and one sign said 12 o'clock. But I was very hungry, so I went to the left first😹 The menu was more ordinary than the left one, and it was better than the lunch set. I had to ask first, and I didn't know if I was a tourist. But all the waiters were smiling and the service was normal. The two types of sirloin and noodles are similar to each other. The fruit on the plate didn't ask me how ripe it was 🤔 I thought it was 60% cut and how delicious it was. It is not recommended to eat the sizzling fruit, it is so delicious if you fry it yourself😹

Second time here and had a brilliant time both times! The food is great and the wine and cocktail list is vast and delicious! The service is very good, everyone is so attentive. Second time I went i felt my steak was rare rather than the medium I asked for but they rectified it very quickly and I was very happy overall!

great food in a pleasant setting. Popular with Americans since it's similar to a US steak house but I found the food tastier than a Ruths or Mortons and the service efficient and friendly without being over the top as can be the case in the US.

We were served by Layla, it was our first time coming to the restaurant to eat. We had a very nice welcome and were seated where we asked to be sat.The waitress was very jolly and full of humour. The food was served on time and the food itself was very tasty. The waitress overheard that it was our little one’s birthday and gifted us with a molten lava cake which made our 3 year olds day. We would deffo recommend this to place to anyone who visits Kensington and would deffo visit again.

Blah, blah The dishes are expensive for the quantity and quality. £5 per portion of fries (frozen?). The burger bun really isn't great, disappointed by the matured meat. the staff runs, wants to go quickly, but is not very attentive.

Shout out to Laila , very funny and relatable server who made our night. My girlfriend did the fry your own steak which kept her occupied and entertained (she’s a bit autistic) the food was great and the drinks were strong . Expensive, but worth it for a valentines celebration.

It’s taken a while but I have to review this restaurant chain. If you are a Keto/carnivore eater or just enjoy meat then this is the company to look for. Excellent service and the steaks cooked on stone are delicious.

I have never experienced anything like this before—I am truly speechless. This level of service is something you can only dream of! I hadn’t even taken off my jacket when multiple staff members were already attending to me, and my drink was on the table in no time. I honestly felt like a princess! The food was very good quality and the service was incredibly friendly.

I love a good steak, and I've seen this place a view times whilst walking past. Tonight I decided to try it. Although the steak was tasty I think it could have been seasoned better. It did cut like butter which i loved, but there was a bit of grizzle/ fat that I had to cut off, not so great. I was also very disappointed that I couldn't have any fries as they were cooked in the same fryer as other products containing wheat and gulten. Being a ceoliac I have to be careful. This meant I had salad (no dressing other than oil) without trimmings - very boring with a plain steak as I couldn't eat any of the sauces either which was really disappointing. I felt £50, for the steak meal was over priced and unfortunately not up to my usual standards especially when the choices were limited and not inclusive of people with allergies, or autoimmune issues like myself. Staff were friendly and attentive which was great. But unfortunately I won't be back as the food just wasn't up to my standard.

The south american fillet here is amazing. The thick meat is very delicious. The salad that came with it was also delicious. But it's a bit expensive

This is a great place for a steak dinner. Choose any of the "Specialty Steaks" or "Steak Stone Experience." The drinks were superbly crafted. Staff was cordial & professional. The manager floated throughout the restaurant, checking on customers' needs. I will definitely return whenever I'm in London.

Delicious steak, friendly waiter, beautiful environment

A lovely atmosphere and the waiting staff are highly attentive and welcoming. I had a 14 oz speciality steak medium rare, goats cheese salad, Nelson's old fashioned (with barrel smoke theatre) and sticky toffee pudding. The desert, drinks and goats cheese were excellent. The steak was 4/5 and just lacked that kick of flavour/seasoning to make it top drawer. That said it may have been the cut of meat that didn't suit my palette. I am a bit fussy in fairness. The Nelsons old fashioned was genuinely awesome and the waiting staff created a lovely atmosphere. Would reccomend!

I booked here for the first time for my husband’s birthday, and it was an absolutely superb experience. The food was 10/10 we had halal —the steak was cooked to perfection! The ambience and overall dining experience were exceptional. Our service from Aaron was incredible—what a wonderful gentleman! He really took great care of us, and we cannot thank him enough. We will definitely be back again!

From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional, and it was all thanks to Gaetan, who truly made the evening unforgettable. Gaetan went above and beyond to ensure that everything about our meal was perfect. He paid close attention to every detail, from ensuring the food met the highest standards to accommodating dietary requirements flawlessly. His attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine care for our experience made all the difference. We left the restaurant not only raving about the delicious food but also about the impeccable service we received. Gaetan deserves full credit for making our visit truly special and memorable.

Amazing place for a birthday dinner! We were served by Lalia E.E who was really lovely and gave us this chocolate fondue cake for dessert, very attentive and was asking us how our food/ drinks refill. Overall really lovely experience. Steak was really good tiny bit salty but apart from that it was amazing!! So can’t fault a 5 star review!! I was also able to have a drink made off menu which was nice Would come back again. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere. You feel very comfortable. The food is amazing. Im from Brazil and I was disappointed about the quantity of meet the dishes has. At Steak & Co. The chicken I asked was huge and delicious. Tiago, a brazilian waiter was very kind with us. Another waitress also helped with our order and she was kind and tried to speak in Portuguese with us. Food was good and service was good. What was not good was having a gratuity snuck onto our bill. And, when I ask, the server says... "That's for if you liked the service, but if you didn't like the service, we can remove it". Well, how exactly am I going to say that without sounding like a cheapskate? It's rude, and a bad spot to put a diner in. UK and Europe used to be no tips. Now you are trying to normalize it, with those tactics? It's a shame, because the food was actually really good.

Completely disappointed. We came here excited as we’re used to doing while coming for a week end from Paris. We left the dinner very upset and won’t be coming back. Let me start by saying that the food was good and this is not the problem we faced tonight. Our order was HALF WRONG (wagyu instead of filet, sides and other things completely different than what was asked) so it got brought back to the kitchen while the rest remained at the table and waited with us, so that we could eat together. We eventually (after 15 MINUTES) got the rest of our food, but ONLY because WE ASKED for it. Then, when the bill came. the wagyu was here even if we didn’t even order it, and we noticed ONLY because we COMPLETELY CHECKED it (around an 80£ difference, so not a mistake we could let go..). In the end we were just served a : « Sorry, you know, it’s one of these days ». Yes, I know days can be hard for everyone, but you can still make the mistakes taste less bitter with a small coffee at the end of the meal. All in all, was a regular, won’t come back.

To get started - Of course I was given a discount. But I rejected this and paid my bill in full. Now to the reasons for my rating. There were three of us tables (2 groups and me) who placed the order almost at the same time. About 15 minutes after I ordered, my neighboring table was occupied by two people. The bottle of water and the appetizer came very quickly. I had to ask about the cola I ordered. This apparently went to another table. While my starter was being cleared away, the other two tables - with the groups - were already receiving the main course. My main course was brought almost at the same time as the main course of the two-person table. The two also had an appetizer, as mentioned in passing. So all in all it took me quite a long time. For these reasons I had already feared it. My steak was lukewarm, almost cold. The potato gratin was so hot that you could hardly eat it. Starting the New Year with a delicious meal was a complete failure for me. For me, this restaurant is in the higher price segment and therefore I found the service provided to be unsatisfactory. In a restaurant like this, I actually expect the service staff to keep an eye on their tables and react immediately if there are delays. My impression was that no one noticed that I was sitting there for a long time without eating. I still give it two stars because I was given a discount or offered a dessert and the staff was otherwise friendly.

Nice and busy steak restaurant. Prices are normal for London, but some drinks are a little more expensive. The service is very good and polite. The quality of the food was also very good. We especially recommend the steak on the hot stone.

Finally got around to try the halal steak here and it was delicious. Cooked to perfection. The wagyu quality is super. The service is awesome. The stone cooking is also an added bonus. The beef quality for ribeye was ace and the cut was good. The medium rare was medium rare, right amount of pink. Chips are right kind of chips to go with steak, chunky with the right amount of crisp. All in all awesome experience. This establishment is aces in my book. There are plenty of non alcoholic cocktails and drinks on the menu, I didn’t have much appetite to try them with 2 steaks. The seating area is well designed. Nice amount of spacing to give the right ambience. You are not over hearing the conversation next to you. All good.

Mixed feelings with this restaurant, went with my family , 4 of us bill was £300 so approximately £75pp Our order was mixed up , my wife’s sirloin was cooked well done instead of medium And my rib eye was rare instead of well done. We informed staff immediately but we agreed to just swap so I had the well done sirloin and my wife had the rib eye. The waiter said the restaurant take this seriously as they are steak specialist and a manager was coming to speak to us and talk of a complimentary desert was mentioned but no Manager came and we didn’t want to feel like we were begging or trying to get something free so we didn’t mention it Also a surprise was the £30 service charge. We didn’t complain we just paid the exact amount of the total no extra tip due to this already within the bill. We got the feeling a tip was expected as soon as we paid the bill we didn’t speak to any staff again no “thank you “ or have a good rest of your evening. The food was very nice me and my wife just didn’t get what we ordered and at the prices paid I think it’s unacceptable. The food was 5 stars it’s the management that dropped my score to a 3 Customer service should be priority

Went on Christmas night. We had a reservation, but even when slammed they were able to seat others within 30 minutes. Our server was very nice, and the steaks and burger were cooked to order perfectly. All the food was good. I recommend the buffalo cauliflower.

Choose this place for Christmas dinner - Being South African we understand good steak - this place was indeed on par. Flavour was great - mood and ambience was perfect. Steak had a slightly charred taste but beyond that was great. Potato gratin complemented the steak very well. Would definitely go there again and recommend the rib eye to anyone looking for a good steak while in London

We had the most wonderful experience at Steak & Company, South Kensington. Christmas Day lunch, all of the staff were so well mannered , hospitable & friendly. They all went out of their way to ensure our experience was special. The service was exemplary. The meals were large, well priced and absolutely delicious. We had the fish, ribs, a steak and the Christmas special (roast turkey) which were all cooked to perfection. The pork ribs melted in your mouth and the truffle infused mash potato complemented the steak so beautifully. The fish and turkey dishes were perfectly cooked and served with lovely vegetables and fresh salads. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit, we were so impressed. Thank you to the Steak & Company team for making our Christmas Day so special 🥂✨

great experience. Two of us ordered the steak, which was brought out with a hot stone tablet used to finish preparing the steak. I had the filet, which was awesome. wifey had shrimp salad. Also ordered 3 sides (it's all ala carte): Mac and cheese, potatoes gratin, and broccoli. Total cost about 160 pounds with the included service charge of 12.5%.

Great atmosphere and decor and service. Sadly let down by poor quality steak. I had ribeye. My wife had fillet and my daughter had rump. The cow that these steaks came from must have died from old age. I come from a farming community in Cornwall and know poor quality when I see it. All three steaks were super chewy. All three of us gave ip half way through eating as our jaws were aching from chewing. On the plus side it was a quiet night out as we were all too busy chewing to actually talk to each other. Perfect place to come if your wife's a bit grumpy. A steak from here will guarantee to shut her up for a while.

Friendly and lovely Christmas atmosphere

Came here with friends for a dinner and cannot express enough how great everything was. The steak is perfect, not chewy and had loads of flavour. Everyone’s favourite was the mash. IT IS STUNNING. Honestly the best mash I’ve ever had. The dessert also beautiful. We had a lovely server who was hilarious(man with long hair tied back) he was very appreciative of us doing the little things like taking the plate from him. Will definitely be coming back. This place is amazing

Lovely place, great food. Especially Leila did her very best to make our meal enjoyable in every way. A slight communication error was quickly and professionally resolved by the manager. Desserts are to die for, meats are of exceptional quality.

Good food and very good service

First time here and we loved it. Me and 2 kids down in the big smoke for a show (Come Alive - also brilliant). Anyway back to the steak, I had a 12oz ribeye with sides of salad and the mushrooms. Kids sampled a steak and a burger. The food was spot on. My ribeye was perfect. The vibe was spot on too, lovely decor/environment and the people and service was spot on too. Highly recommended.

We were a last minute walk in on a Sunday night, and were seated with no problem. All staff were friendly, fun, experienced and very happy to help. Especially our server Laila, she made our experience special. Menu choices are great, food was well prepared and delicious. We weren't rushed, nor were we ignored. Perfect! We both had a starter - prawns and burrata, and steak, ribeye for my husband and filet for me. Excellent. We enjoyed it so much we went back the next night, and were equally impressed. Laila again took excellent care of us. This time 2 pumpkin soups, really good and fish and chips and chicken Ceasar salad. Fish and chips were great, and salad was fresh and large. Highly recommend.
