La Pappardella in Kensington and Chelsea

Just like been in Italy. Good food and wines, the portions were generous, nice music and emvironment.

Unfortunately the gnocchi were mass produced. I hoped that an authentic Italian restaurant would serve fresh in-house gnocchi. We were disappointed.

Food was amazing but the worst service I have had in a long time!!

I phoned to book a table a few weeks ago. The restaurant was busy, the staff member said she couldn’t hear me and hung up. No return call. On our trip we were were nearby and decided to pop in for a meal. The serving staff were aloof. The tables were so close together there was no privacy and we could hear the couple next to us talking b****cks for the duration of our meal. We were presented with a bill which included a service charge. And when we presented the card at the payment terminal we were asked if we wanted to pay a service charge!!! We won’t be back. I should have (of)? trusted my gut instinct.

I don’t think I’ve ever had anything that was not fantastic at Pappardella, but my favorite part has to be the warm welcome

Let's say that finding good Italian cuisine abroad is difficult, it is also obvious that those who do it adapt to the demands of Londoners and our culinary tradition is ruined there: we had a starter of burratina and ham and two pizzas, a margherita with mushrooms and a vegetarian one (courgettes and aubergines and stop...), beer and water. Regardless of the Kensington prices, the problem is that we saw the other dishes presented to the other bystanders (especially the first courses) and shivers arose... The even more dramatic thing was hearing Italians praising those dishes and saying "like at home " and there are two things here: either these people don't know how to cook or there is a lack of local dishes on holiday. Last, but not least, the cold and detached service... Having said that, the criticism wants to be constructive and keeping Italian cuisine as it is seems right to me.

The dinner was very tasty and the service was very good. They save you at the last minute in London. The minestrone soup was very good. I recommend it!!!

Visited last night with family before a theatre show. Food was fantastic (highly recommend the Pappardella con porchetta), staff nice and prices very reasonable. We had a lovely meal and would highly recommend!

Estábamos visitando zLondres para el fin de semana, alojándonos en Earls Court y nos encontramos con este maravilloso restaurante por pura casualidad. Un entorno encantador, nos dieron la bienvenida y nos sentamos rápidamente, aunque no había prisa para elegir una bebida y hacer un pedido, Cuando estábamos listos una camarera amable tomó nuestro pedido. El rojo de la casa era delicioso y la comida era para morirse. Cocina italiana tradicional, recién cocinada. . . Yum. No nos apresuramos a salir una vez que habíamos terminado de comer, lo cual fue agradable. La factura cuando llegó era muy razonable (y eso es de un norteño ¡Perspectiva! 😂) -Muchas gracias. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente este lugar.

Location chosen based on reviews and recommendations on Google. We didn't have a reservation. We were given a table for 3 with no problem. We were not disappointed. The staff is welcoming and the pizzas are excellent. In short, an address to remember.

I usually go here after watching football. It was originally recommended by an Italian client of mine. He was spot on. Great italian food and service. Do listen to any recommendations from the staff. They really do know their stuff. Great location for transport and a great atmosphere.

Vinimos en un momento inusual para nosotros - un almuerzo entre semana y era fácil conseguir una mesa. Teníamos platos de pasta que eran muy buenos, especialmente el vongole. Punto deducido por ello - por lo que el servicio por las damas que sirven en las mesas. No había tan amable ni atento, ya que solo un par de otras mesas estaban ocupadas.

Ive been here before with good experience and not been treated this rudely, the restaurant was empty and the waitress had attitude saying we cant sit side by side.. we left immediately. Not coming back.

Delicious Italian cuisine, friendly staff and quite nice area, even though a bit to close to quite busy road. Overall though, there is not much to complain about. And their home-made pasta is just delicious. Would recommend and will certainly be returning.

As an American who travels to Europe regularly, I had a wonderful dining experience here. We were in the need of something different other than English/Scotland cuisine. The atmosphere was inviting, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. The house made pasta was expertly prepared, with fresh ingredients that highlighted the flavors you’ll expect in Italy. I love my food a little spicy and requested chili oil, which was amazingly hot. Overall, it was a memorable experience that I would recommend to anyone looking for a great Italian meal in this part of London.

We visited because it was convenient and reasonably priced. The food was fine, but the service at the end left much to be desired. we were in a rush at the end, but we’re convinced to stay for dessert.Despite being told dessert would only take 10 minutes, we waited over 20 minutes. When we asked for a takeaway option due to time constraints, we were refused as one dish could “not be offered” as a take away, no solution was offered. The manager merely reiterated that one desert could not be takeaway and kept on repeating that it’s “just coming out” instead of taking responsibility.Even by the time we received the bill, the dessert was still too melted to enjoy so we had to leave the whole thing. While the portions were generous and the pricing fair for the area,the handling of the situation, lack of an apology for the delay and lack of understanding deterred us from returning.

Terrible service terrible food with really cheap produce and canned food on undercooked pizza. The most astonishing thing is that 10-15 min after we paid and left me and my party of people were outside talking when all in a sudden a staff member came outside with a pdq machine and asked us to pay a supplement of £7.50 which apparently they forgot to add to the bill. I was shocked when I saw that and not because they asked us to pay but the way how everything went they could have simply said they made a mistake leave it and give us a good review but they made us look bad in front of other people drinking and eating and passing by and were treated like thieves when we genuinly did not realised and it was your mistake. Very poor customer service very cheap produce sold at a premium. A place like this in Italy would shut after one day. I won’t ever come back and I won’t ever recommend any of my hotel guests there no more. All the best for the future!

I would like to point out that the review is overall and not based exclusively on the food which was still quite good. The place is nice and provides a nice variety of Italian food from north to south. The place is simple and pleasant, with a good quality/price ratio. The big flaw is the service, in addition to being poor, we had to put up with loud discussions and heavy complaints from the waiters throughout the dinner regarding shifts, salaries, the owner and the various disappointments about the general management . Impossible to relax regardless of understanding the language (Italian).

We had dinner in this restaurant based on the positive experience we had six years earlier. However, this time, we were disappointed. We ordered spaghetti bolognese and linguine instead. The former were broken while the latter were completely overcooked. For those who are used to eating Italian cuisine, I do not recommend it.

Call ahead for reservations. We had 5 in our group and everyone loved the food. Two of them went back another day for more! My husband loved the spaghetti with fresh clams, I loved the fettuccine carbonara. Very pleasant and helpful staff.

Great little Italian spot that is just a short walk from Earl's Court rather popular with locals. Walk-ins welcome. Portions are generous. Food is tasty. So good in fact, we dined there twice over the course of several days.

I was having dinner there early July 2024 ..The vegetarian pizza I ordered just filled with many pieces of eggplant .. 😜I asked them surprisingly about other vegetables normally in veggie pizza but man waiter was quite tough .. There was a nice smiling girl waiter lightened the toxic atmosphere after that.. they shall mention the pizza I ordered Eggplant Pizza instead of Vegetable Pizza 🍕

Best Italian food in Earl's square hands down

A fantastic place to eat, we were down in London for the weekend and this place was just around the corner from our hotel, the staff were excellent, the setting was welcoming and bustling....the food was excellent.

Booked a large table at late notice, booking was no issue, waiter was fantastic and the food is incredible. Great quality, big portions and excellent value for money.

I had the barata to start, which was very good but the pizzas were really quite average. You’d expect pizzas to be great quality at an authentic Italian but the dough was flat and bland and the toppings were ok. We had a decent overall experience but definitely room for improvement and I’d try a different dish next time.

Like many choose this restaurant given reviews but very disappointed. Food very average and service poor. As we had been sat near the service counter with lots of comings and goings and scraping of food, asked if we could be moved to another table(s) i.e. draw two 2-person tables together. The restaurant was only 25% full and we arrived well before evening rush - we were told not possible. The pizza's were not that tasty although pasta OK. Desserts bland.

It's one of those places where you like eating it, which is already difficult in the city, the place is cozy, the price is right, the portions are big and the staff is very nice and pleasant Just a totally recommendable place

After a few days of staying in London I couldn't take it anymore, I had a good time at La Pappardella, I will definitely return if I return to London. Ps, advice; I wouldn't put "cold" pizza tomato sauce on the rascal pizza but rather marinated cherry tomatoes. Congratulations John

Went here last Tuesday and the food was unreal, had veggie aubergine pasta and it was legit the best pasta dish I've ever had out - really good portion sizes and soooo tasty with perfectly cooked pasta. Lovely terrace to sit and have a coffee and a smoke after dinner too, felt like being abroad!

Was open late on a Wednesday which was great. Service was good, food and wine were delicious.

Very well received even without having booked. Friendly and understanding waiter. We ate very well, pizza, risotto and salmon lasagna all very good. Small downside: we came across a very noisy table next to us which spoiled the fun a little and the service was a little long because there were people but on vacation we are in less of a hurry. To do again without hesitation all the same

Average food - horrible service. If you want dinner with a side of mockery too - this is your place! I ordered arrabbiata pasta with chicken - pasta cooked well and chicken was chopped into huge chunks that tasted gamey throughout. I asked the maitre de how big the minestrone soup was - bowl or cup - instead of answering he just begins laughing saying “too big, too big” - I then asked about the salads and how big the Caesar salad was - he stared at me without saying anything… I asked again, and he refused to even answer that time staring at me blankly. At that moment I nearly walked out it was just so unfriendly and infuriating — I truly wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. Not worth anyone’s hard earned money to deal with such a horrible person.

After three days in London eating non-Italian, we looked for an Italian restaurant near the hotel and found this place which impressed us positively with its ambiance, very courteous staff with Luigi first and foremost who turned out to be a great host, recommending a pappardella with lamb ragù of the highest quality. The rest is also good and of excellent quality. Also very good prices for the quality offered. I would recommend it to anyone passing through but especially to Italians in London who don't know it

Best Italian restaurant in London

Went to London on vacation and we didnt liked the food. But God save the italian restaurants!!! Now this one does it right: good size portions, straight forward and fast service and above all, GOOD FOOD. Ambience is good, cozy, menu is extensive plus they have pizzas. One little thing: you should have half portions for kids or a kids menu. And maybe some bread should be included with a steak entree ... GREAT PLACE!
