Just had a couple of nghts at The Station Inn. Really enjoyed it. Lovely staff. Clean rooms. Nice food. Sweet machine owes me a quid! Yeah there are niggly bits that people could moan about but why bother when overall it’s a fabby little place to stay! Loads to do in Hexham too. People are lovely. Only let down was Cranston’s sausage butty. Did well to still be alive after eating their raw sausages.

Park in big car park near Waitrose Park in white lined spaces no need for a disc but be aware these spaces are not always available I think shop workers use them and they leave their cars in them all day probably easier after 6 alternatively the railway station only cost 2pound for 24 hours but it has to be renewed at midnight which is a pain RingGo app required as for the hotel it’s cheap and cheerful not luxury

I decided to try the lamb shanks in this unpretentious hotel pub. They turned out to be better than I’ve eaten in far less modest places. The lamb was done perfectly in a very nice mint gravy and served with a generous portion of nicely cooked mashed potatoes, squash, steamed carrots and peas. My companion had scampi and chips with peas and reported they were perfectly satisfactory. But I recommend the lamb shanks.

The best Sunday dinner in Hexham. Regularly go to the station to sit in for a Sunday dinner or get the take out to have at home. The veg is always cooked well and there’s a great selection. Good portions too if you’re both sitting in or taking it away. The pricing is on point and slightly less than some of the other places in the town. Staff are always cheery and helpful, and I always feel like it’s a warm welcome.

What a great find! We stopped over, on the way back from Scotland. The only negative is the lack of secure parking for the bikes, so they were chained up on the walkway outside the front. Apparently they've never had any problems, and ours were fine. And the food is really good, the chips are the best I've had in years.

The lady at check in was very friendly. Thought it a bit odd that we were handed a TV remote at check in. Obviously they have a issue with theft! The room seemed clean enough but there were dust webs in the corners and hanging from the light fitting. There were no visible plug sockets. We had to pull the large chest of drawers out to plug in the kettle. However there was an extension lead on the other side of the room that looked like it went trough the wall to another room….very odd. Mirrors seemed to be a problem. No there were 2 mirrors - one in the bathroom and one above the bed but you would have to stand on the bed to be able to see into it. There was an old fashioned wall mounted hairdryer but no mirror anywhere near it - how are people supposed to blow dry their hair without being able to see?? There was plenty of room on the wall. I had to plug my hair straighteners into the extension lead and stand as close to the bathroom as possible (which was about 4 foot from the bathroom door) trying to do my hair in the bathroom mirror. It was not easy! The bed was appalling - it felt like we were lying in concrete and the springs literally banged when either of us moved. Check out is at 10am and breakfast is only served until 9am which is early, especially on a weekend. I only had toast as I can’t eat much that early, but my husband’s full English looked OK. The tea was incredibly weak so maybe 2 teabags per pot. A bit of background music would be nice to add a bit of atmosphere. I don’t think we’ll be back.

We were greeted by friendly staff who asked us where we were parked and then directed us to where there was free parking. We were shown to our room which had single beds. However this was not a problem. The room and bathroom were fine after all it is an old Inn. The location was great and close to a couple of small shopping centres. One virtually over the road. A supermarket about 10 minutes walk. Our room overlooked the Athletic Track. The township was a short walk either by road or along a walk way. By the time we got settled and walked there most places were shut but we walked to the Old Jail and to a Park. We joined some other guests in the Bar for a drink and conversation before we retired for the night. Our breakfast was delicious and were surprised to see how many guest were in the hotel as it was very quiet.

We needed a one night stay in Hexham on our way home from further north. Although there is no official parking here it is not a problem -pay at the station or in the nearby town centre car park or for free very close to the Inn in the lane across the way. We were warmly welcomed on arrival. Our room was fine - getting in need of a refurb but very clean and well kept. Sleep quality was excellent. An excellent cold and cooked breakfast is included int the room rate. We stayed for a meal - excellent food quality, quantity and overall value and then a few drinks in the bar. An excellent place to spend a night that I will remember for future reference.

Took my parents and the rest of the family here on Mothers day, always one of the busiest days for restaurants. We had all been here once before and had a nice sunday roast each so thought we would return as we were meeting in Hexham that day. Menu was kept simple with just the choice of roast available, but this did mean very prompt service, hardworking and helpful staff and sunday dinner at a very reasonable price. My pet hate in restaurants is when the staff don't check to see if everything is ok - we must have been checked on by 4 or 5 different members of staff who were all falling over themselves to help. did feel a little rushed as there were obviously lots of bookings, but it was mothers day after all! Food was good too

I'm vegetarian and she told me that a meal other than what was available could also be made. The food was well presented, tasty and great value - far above the general standard in Britain. My partner said his steak pie was one of the best he'd had and that it couldn't be faulted. The portions were massive, but not dominated by carbs. The surroundings were comfortable and cosy, with a conservatory area, and the staff ensured that we had a top notch dining experience.

Was feeling really hungry, so went to the fox cover for a carvery. Upon arrival, I was met with what looked like Alton Towers from Temu. After scouring the local industrial estate for a car parking space, I finally found one in the local garden centre. if I wasn't already hungry I would have been after the marathon I had to walk back to the pub. After re-entering the carpark, I was again met with said fair ground I mentioned previously. After multiple attempts at trying to win a goldfish, my attention was brought to a fortune teller. After much debate, she came to the end conclusion that hunger was amidst. I was flabbergasted at her accuracy so asked her for the later lottery numbers! After the fortune teller, I had myself a go on the Waltzer- I forgot how this ride can be and made me terribly sick. I got off the ride and unfortunately was too ill for my carvery. I once again got my map and compass out to re-locate my car and ended up going home, with no goldfish, no lottery numbers and no dinner :(
