Terrible food not quite sure how you’ve managed to undercook chips whoever the cook is clearly needs there eyes testing. Chips were pale and hard obviously not cooked correctly. Kebab was rubbery and chewy. Definitely avoid this place

Was slightly perturbed by some recent reviews so I played it safe with my order. Food was hot, decent enough and reasonable value for money.

Disgusting fish and chips, 40 minutes late with delivery and the food was in the car all this time. Batter was thick fatty and gross. Other food may be OK but will not order fish and chips from them again.

Banging - Food on point - Donner is amazing - burgers are perfect and the Pizza is actually on par with dominos.

I'm honestly so surprised to find bad reviews on here. I've been ordering from Station Fish Bar for years now and I have never had a bad experience with them. The prices are more than reasonable, the food has always been hot and properly cooked (not to mention tasting really nice). Every time I've ordered something that they don't have available, they always call to let me know and ask if they can send something else instead. Tonight they clearly had no cheesecakes left so they sent a big tub of Ben and Jerry Ice Cream instead which is double the price of a cheesecake. They've never forgotten to send something, always been polite, their delivery guys are lovely. I always recommend this place to my friends and family, I'm honestly shocked that other people have had a bad experience but I'm sure they must be rare occurrences but I, of course, can't speak for other people. But I do really highly recommend this chippy. The main thing I really appreciate is, I'm very picky about how I like my kebabs and things and am very specific about what I do and don't want on my food, and every time they have followed my instructions perfectly, hardly any place does that, specially with how picky I am. Which is why I use them so much. Oh and their curry sauce is absolutely gorgeous!!

The small fish and chip not worth the price of £7.50. The fish is a dry small flat piece that looks like it was heated on a George Forman grill.

Amazing staff and brilliant food

Ordered food from here tonight and I must say it tastes like chemicals have been poured all over it. I have a burning taste in my mouth and feel slightly worried what the hell they are cooking the food in. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS ABSOLUTELY VILE AND DANGEROUS FOOD! Health and safety need investigating this place for safety of food served. Zero stars rating from me!

My god I cannot say how much everyone needs to avoid this place. I have never wanted there to be a zero star review so much in my life. I loath that I have had to put one star just to write a review. Honestly I would rather eat my own toenails than eat here. Ordered once before and it wasn’t great. Then tonight wow. They are so rude. And abusive. My order didn’t turn up and they made up so many lies about it. Like they had been waiting outside of my house for 20 mins blah blah. And knocking at my windows which you cannot get to without being let in the gate!Seriously if you have other stuff in the fridge eat that rather than order from this absolute hole. I hope you shut down

Went to get a donner and chips donner was half cold and chips were crispy beyond belife, they slapped some fresh donner on top of the old one and the chips were not fresh granted it was a late night but at the end of the day morning or night a paying customer is a paying customer. Need to do better guys

I didn't actually eat here so I can't rate their food, but I would like to give them a shout out after a visit to Derby this week. I met a young, homeless man who'd received a delicious looking hot meal and he explained that during Ramadan, the cafe were giving them free food. I run a similar innitiative in Spain, finding venues who'll accept customer Pay it Forward donations towards helping cook meals for the charity we support or allowing the guys to collect a meal that's been paid for. The fact that such a small business is donating so many meals is wonderful. Well done, guys. Fantastic work! ❤️🏮

Guy behind counter who served me glared at me while handing me the food, not very welcoming vibe. Food was nice but a little cold.

Ordered a regular doner kebab, was asked what sauce I would like (big range of sauces) and then a piece of paper was put in a takeaway container and some kebab meat was put on top of it. That was it, no bread, no salad, no napkin. Meat tasted alright. Wouldn't visit again.

Always order the Large fish and chips with curry sauce and a cheeky coke. Sometimes a battered sausage. Literally amazing and rapid delivery. I remember always coming here in my college days with friends.

Just walked in for a pie and chips. The pie was completed cold, like straight out of the fridge cold. The chips were only slightly warm. Had a few mouthfuls and the rest was binned.

I will go there always and they very respectful and the food very nice and they service you to quick

it was late and we stopped at derby train station, this was very close and the food was nice at a very reasonable price. would recommend if needing something to eat if you are stopping at the train station

we live 5 minutes away yet our entire food arrived completely cold! When calling up to tell them the food was cold they tried to say it’s because we lived really far away, once realising we live not even 5 minutes away they tried to blame it on the sauce being cold. Awful service they refuse to take any accountability and told us we had to eat cold food as there’s nothing they could do about it! Not to mention after heating the food up in the microwave it tasted terrible! I will never go there again and if you’re thinking of ordering with them save your money as all I’ve ever heard is bad things about them!

0/5 horrible horrible food. Chips were brown, sausage was hard and felt like it had been left there all day. I flipped the tray over so you can see the chips.

I have just revived a delivery. Mushy peas are hard and under cooked. The steak pie is solid as a brick. Like it’s been sat there for a week.Burnt to a crisp. Will try and include photo in comment. Wouldn’t go back again! For some reason wouldn’t let me include photos. So if you click on photos the picture of the pie is on there.

Wasn't even chippy chips meat on kebab was sloppy and very greecy very disappointed with the order tonight

Ordered cheesy chips..They decided to place the cold chips on top of the cheese which unsurprisingly didn't melt. Chips tasted like pure oil and were stone cold. Burger was mediocre at best, requested no tomato so they seemed to have put half a chopped onion on it instead, also not particularly warm. Pizza was warm at best and tasted like cardboard, bland uninspiring food, will not order from here again. Order took exactly 45 minutes to arrive and no part of it was hot, had to reheat the chips in the end and put sauce and pepper on them to make them remotely edible.

Had chips dinner meat and it was awful, chips where dry, hard and recooked, donner meat you could tell had been sat in the silver dish way too long as it was rock hard and actually knocked on the table it was that hard! See image I’m holding the end of a piece of hard donner meat, it doesn’t even bend! Left out and sold for £7.50. This was awful and brutally honest this food is harmful to anyone eating it. The food was that cold the cheese on the chips (under the donner meat for the 15 minutes drive home) had not even melted. Cold food, reused chips from the day before, hard donner meat left out for hours, I would avoid, especially if your pregnant. I did not feel safe eating this so had chucked it away.

i ordered a pizza and it arrived within' 10 minute and it was delicious keep the good work

Nipped out of the station and grabbed a very needed dinner here between trains during a five-hour commute out to Wales. Fish cooked fresh in front of me, crispy and tasty. Pricing very reasonable. Thanks!

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!! if you want to waste your time and money I’ve just received my order everything came soggy and COLD! Wasted nearly £30 on this place for it to make me feel like I was going to be sick, health and safety needs to go and check that place out because something Is definitely wrong. I also informed them that I’m pregnant and cold food for me makes me feel sick and they clearly didn’t care.

Real bad, over greasy under cooked chips and the sausage was like eating rubber . Hugely dissapointing and left me with unpleasant stomach ache.

No price list available, ordered fish and chips and he pulled a price off the top of his head. When I laughed and said 'no" he got really aggressive, I've never had anyone bellow at me about the price of fish before so it was an experience, but I'm sure some people would find him intimidating and pay over the odds. I was really hungry and not from the area - in normal circumstances I wouldn't have entered the premises as it doesn't look appealing in any way. Avoid!

Ordered fish, sausage chicken and chips tonight, but large chips were not in the order, so the adults got no chips, it ruined our meal 😑 and fish batter looked anaemic! Hoping it was just an off day.

Had a takeawy this evening via JustEat and I have to say it should be ZERO RATED. Nann was out of a packet, kebab disgusting, everything went in the bin 100% do not use.

Ordered on uber eats, kebab wrap and chips, wrap was lovely!! Normally kebab from other chippys is grainy and gross but this one was lovely!! Will definitely order again !

Another review a year and a half on and guess what.. no change. I ordered a doner wrap and chips and it was so basic. Extremely low quality doner meat with no seasoning in it Andy barely cooked, low quality anaemia chips and a standard wrap which could of been grilled to seal the meat in better etc. So many better eateries in the area, won’t ever visit again.

Arrived on time and the food was rather delicious. The staff were friendly, definitely recommend.

Won't be ordering from here again. The curry sauce was nice but the chips were soggy and has for the pukka pie I definitely wouldn't recommend. It was watery inside and really crisp and greasy outside and tasted like fried bread 🤢

When we put this in a review, we received a reply a long while later stating that they were happy to send a replacement. 3 weeks later I asked for my replacement and was told that over a month and a half had gone by so they refused to send a replacement. The manager was arrogant in his behaviour, and I felt this was not how to treat a customer. On their reply there was no time span, and manager seemed to make the rules up as the phone call progressed. By the way, this was with the management that is there now!! So nothing seems to have changed from the old reviews I have read. There are better take aways close by. Please avoid Station Fish Bar or buy at your peril !!

ordered at around 30clock chips were dry both mine and my sons fish wasn’t great either I usually read reviews b4 ordering didn’t this time won’t make that mistake again

I have order here a few times not the greatest of quality the chips are definitely reheated and the lack of batter on the fish makes it look like it has had a disease how ever i ordered last night and about 30min ish i started to feel ill and sick almost felt the need to go to hospital till i was sick twice and it seem to have clear i am sure it had somthing to do with the fish

By far the worst chip shop in Derby, those of you stepping off the train and out of the station and feel the temptation to venture across the street for some fish and chips DON'T BOTHER. As convenient as the location is, it's not worth the disappointment. I dry chips that are most certainly not fresh! Staff just chuck it at you and presentation is awful. A tiny squeeze of sauce was put in one spot on top of the chips, then the I had to ask for more and do it myself as the guy had no clue. That may just be my preference but who asks for mayo or ketchup on their chips and and expects a tiny dollop on top and not even squeezed over their chips?

Poor customer service. Rude to customers and no effort of social distancing or to keep customers safe during the pandemic.

I have visited station fish bar a few times unfortunately as sometimes it's the only place open early on. Recently I have started going without because every time I go it's just horrible to be fair. Not a lot seems to be cooked fresh and...

Placed an order with yourselves through the just eat app it's the second order with yourselves. I asked for delivery at 6PM as the people I look after like to eat a little later in the evening. I've just had my order delivered 2 hours early. The chips are cold and rock hard your mushy peas are overly salty. I've spent almost £50 over 2 different orders and I will not be ordering from yourselves again...

The large king kebab is amazing. Ordered a few times now and it’s always been really good food.

Called to find food that didnt turn up. Tried to act like he didnt know what I was saying and just replied with sorry its late and put the phone down on me twice. Then my girlfriend called up and got a genuine answer to the question of whether it could have been dropped off to another flat in the block or whether it was just late. It had been dropped off but to a flat down stairs and had gone cold in the time it took us to find out what had happened to it but was already payed for on card so they basically just ignored us. Terrible service

This is second time ordering from here and it's no better, had few mouth fulls and rest went in bin, literally dripping with grease, soggy batter, mushy peas looked and tasted radioactive, was barely luke warm. Ordered large chips large fish, got a small portion of chips in a little box and about 6 just thrown in a big box with the worst fish I've ever seen. Only thing decent was the 10% off threw Just eat. Thanks for ruining what was meant to be a nice family night in with a takeaway!

I popped in for something to eat whilst waiting for a train. Accidentally left my unopened Diet Coke I brought from the shop next door. Went back to get it and they had taken it, put it in there fridge and denied it. On top of that the food was as greasy as them.

I ordered two large cod and one large chips. It arrived on time .the best part of the order was the nice box for the fish ,on opening it i found 2 long sausage like pieces of fish with soggy batter..the chips were dry brown and the meal was almost cold.SUCH A LET DOWN

I ordered food from them through just eat. The order came in a good amount of time however the quality of the food was dreadful . The chips where clearly overcooked and the last chips of the day, the gravy I had was too thick and tasted strange. The battered sausage was something else, it was too hard to bite through easily and it tasted so strange aswell as being pink inside. They gave us a free garlic pizza thing, which was nice and they didn't have to. But it was cold and it tastes horrible, I know it was free and I shoulsnsh look a gift horse in the mouth but it was dry and plain. I don't usually write reviews but this was a particularly bad meal.

Good portions, friendly staff and nice food

I ordered a small fish and chips and got the tiniest sliver of small fish which was hard and inedible. The chips were soggy and cold. When I took it back the lady was talking to people and wasn't at all interested so I left it on the counter. I used to come here often but never again. So disappointed
