McDonald's in Derby

Rubbish experience. Got to drive through window and no menu in sight. Staff member kept asking over intercom what we wanted, but didn't know how to answer us when we said we didn't know because we couldn't see a menu. Felt pressured into ordering quickly with no idea of what options were. Where was the menu?...

COLD FOOD. Waiting time 15-20 minutes. The worst McDonald's in Derby!

Slowest service ever! Was waiting a good 45 minutes for our food, turns out they put it for delivery and had to redo the order. Also heard a staff member be rude to another member of staff. Won’t be coming back here that’s for sure

Ordered from breakfast menu. Most was from the Winning Fries 🍟 game of food I'd won. Order came and I took it away . Everything was great except the medium diet coke which just didn't taste right at all so I poured it away. Otherwise nice food good service .

Always nice and clean, the upstairs lobby hosts are treasures but the attitude of other staff especially In the drive through are disgusting... Food is substandard and service is beyond slow. 35 mins for a breakfast burger and drink and hair in my hash browns? Ewwww no! The reason McDonald's have reported a drop in profit is down to poor service and nasty food, not people spending less

We decided to eat in as recently ordering to the car or drive through service has been very inconsistent. We ordered 4 mcmuffin meals identical and standard and it was not busy as we were the only ones waiting and it took 15 minutes to get our food. Otherwise it was very clean. Not just this one but most have really lost their way, standing and waiting for your number to be called, ordering to the car and drive thru are so inconsistent in service levels, it's unbelievable. The old fashioned ordering at a till while they got your food was so much better.

Been waiting almost 2 hours for delivery tried to ring but no answer 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ I honestly don’t want it now terrible service from them thoroughly disappointed in this company

It's a new restaurant, with self service and two levels with a kids play area, the food is average. After a recent refurb the lobby looks great. Feels a little more modern

Called 14/9/24 at approx 5pm,ordered food and told to wait at end window (drive through) yet again,happens often when I go,waited over 10 minutes just for 3 items,I got out of car and went back to middle window and demanded where was my order,got back in the car and finally got it,took it home 3 minutes away and it's stone cold,absolutely shocking,but silly me,starving,I ate it and it made me ill,Never again will I eat from this McDonalds.

Restaurant ok but permit non electric cars to park in charging bays for hours on end. Very rude driver ... well it's your fault for buying electric. Absolutely disgraceful

Stood around over 20 mins waiting for a Big Mac meal. Worse outlet I've been in. Other customers also disappointed. Fries were cold and Milkshake warm.

Shockingly slow service. At 7.30 I was only person resturant and it took 18 mins from point of order to give me my porridge and plate white!

Open 24 hours, 7 days a week. Car park is very small with limited space's and can fill up quickly. Offers a drive through, click and collect, collect, eat in or delivery. All parking spaces are numbered, this is now the click and collect bay number. New layout since the refurbishment, takes some getting used to. I found the staff friendly and willing to help. One minor niggle is the burgers look put together a bit slap-dash. Otherwise I found it OK.

I go to this McDonald's often, and there right first time rate has to be roughly 15% regardless of the time of day. I'm not fussy changing my orders ether. However my experience's I order for delivery and end up missing and big order stuff. Share box of nuggets? No where to be seen although I've paid for it!. Go in and order the new double big Mac? Why do I receive a normal one with bacon? I'm sure the bacon is only on a double yet somehow they forget the extra 2 patty's? Order a fancy coffee that's ment to have whipped cream on top? Ah I'll still pay full price but kiss good bye to any whipped cream. Stupid stuff like this happen all the time. To the point I'm telling the Mrs we are not going there because we will be disappointed, AGAIN! And sure enough yes we are. The staff definitely needs more training. They need a quality check operations going on at the end of burger building to send back those reworks. And maybe a flame thrower to just to be sure I receive my order at the counter at some reasonable hot temperature. Side note. I never had this issue before they ruined the downstairs layout with these delivery areas, the place feels lifeless and atmosphere is cold.

Had mixed results from this one, food is always good but sometimes it's a mess trying to get it due to long wait times and confused staff. Edit: Wait times now of over 20 minutes, literally no point going here anymore.

Priority given to delivery drivers, so food often delayed. Small car park, full of waiting delivery drivers, making it impossible to find a space. Saw one JustEat chap sitting in his car just waiting for an order, taking the spot of what was going to be a paying customer. This branch has their business model upside down.

Friendly staff and free parking. Would have given 5 stars but they did not have anywhere to change my grandson.

Excellent service from Lewis. Really polite. Food was hot and fresh.

Payment system crash. Awarded potentially a free meal. The lady cleaning upstairs was making tables looking spotless. Fries tasted unusually good, cheeseburgers were excellent.

Probably one of the better McDonald's about, service is good, and pretty quick. They're fairly good with the delivery drivers too as long as you don't harass them when your order isn't ready (which is fair), I use this as a customer as well because my daughter likes the play area upstairs, generally kept clean too

Took 10 minutes for someone to take my order and once they did took another 25 minutes to actually give me my food in that time only 2 other people got there food so no idea why it took so long got home and looked like the burgers had been punched together and half my fries were missing. Will never order from this mcdonalds ever again

I can’t begin to express how many times this McDonalds has messed our orders up. This evening for instance… a whole meal missing out of the bag! We had it delivered this time so unfortunately just had to go without one persons meal! The rest of the meals were like warm at best! Unless you check your whole order at the window and ask for what’s missing, I’m afraid you’ll be short!

Usually very good service. Starting to get a few errors with the orders from time to time. Received a happy meal without chips. Quickly resolved but annoying.

Is it me? I’m no stranger to McDonalds and I’ve had plenty of breakfast deals - you know muffin something or other, coffee and hash brown. But…does it have to be so greasy? It smells oily and certainly looks and tastes of it too. Perhaps the process of production is so ingrained that no thought or consideration is given to the obvious deleterious health aspects of serving such oily fare. It kinda tastes OK (except the hash brown which is always somewhat dire) but it obviously is on the unhealthy side of acceptable. These comments are no reflection on the McD outlet I’m reviewing (although they should consider serving reasonably warm food in the future) but with their pathetic, cranky app their increased pricing and their woeful lack of healthy food options the once famous McDonalds is in slow decline - in my opinion, of course. Black coffee was good.

Worst McDonald’s in Derby, everytime we go the ice cream/milkshake machine is ‘not working’ or ‘turned off’ Went tonight to get a McFlurry and the excuse was ‘resetting the system’ so either had to wait 15 minutes or leave. Don’t even bother ordering as they’ll most definitely forget an item or get the items wrong. Customer service also shocking, most employees are incompetent

* AVOID AVOID AVOID* If I could rate this any lower I definitely would. This is by far the worst McDonald’s I’ve ever been too. Queued up for ages in the drive thru waiting there for a good 15 mins waiting for someone to come to the window so I could pay. No one turned up so tried to pay at the next window to get told we would have to come in and re-order the whole thing. Then re ordered and was greeted with the worst customer service from one of the women working there. Also got told to “check the bag because I didn’t pack it” insinuating that it’s probably wrong🤣 just shocking. To then eat the food after all the experience and it be freezing cold and the bread stale. It has completely put me off McDonald’s full stop.

Ordered a McFlurry and a drink to table via the app. The tray it was brought on had clearly not been washed, with bits of lettuce and crumbs all over it. (See attached photo) The worst McDonalds in Derby for speed, getting orders wrong and the attitude of staff.

I ordered a delivery and it never arrived I had to go to the place ourselves and at first they said I had to contact the delivery company mcdonalds didn't want to take any responsibility but I said I wanted my order or a refund after some argument they decided to give me my order.

Poor customer service. We ordered 5 drive through meals for our family following an unexpected hospital trip. Initally we were given the incorrect amount of fries, which we sorted back in the restraunt. Then we realised we only had been given 4 drinks. We drove straight back to the drive through to resolve, and we were asked for a receipt for proof, which we were not given. The manager then had to be asked by the staff if i could have the drink (that we had paid for!). Basically we were being made to feel as though we were lying. I was then told - the manager says on this occassion as a courtesy i could have a drink, but next time will be no. Why thank you McDonalds for kindly allowing me to have my drink that we paid for, after being made to feel as though you were doing me a favour.

Worst experience at any franchise. Basically only services delivery guys rather than walk in customers. 30mins for a single burger and chips on Sunday night.

Breakfast stop, must describe as underwhelming, sausage and egg mcmuffin seemed firm/stale, hash brown acceptable, but miserable half measure cappuccino failed to impress.

Worst McDonald’s by a landslide. If there’s any award for worst fast food. Well done you’ve won! (Fast by no means plays a part here) 45 minutes to get my food.. which at that point my coffee was stone cold. I get you don’t need a degree to work here. But I strongly believe there isn’t a single brain cell being shared amongst the staff. If you’re reading this McDonald’s. You need a management shake up here. It’s a shambles.

Appalling service at this McDonald's. Sent by a young girl on the till to pay at the next window, then told they can't take payment at that window so I need to drive around again which I refused because there was a long trail of cars due to football traffic. I asked for the card machine to be brought down to me, the young manager refused, I said OK take my card to the machine, again he refused, when I said I'm not moving until you take payment from me here....his Immediate response was "i'll call the police".....pathetic. I asked for his name, again he refused (I got a photo of him). My son got out the car and walked to the first window to pay, the young girl apologised, the manager was hiding. Paid and got the food, they added burnt onions to the burgers (I have a picture) I now know who the Area Manager is and will be making a formal complaint.

This place constantly is stingy with the McFlurrys! If you’re after a McFlurry, do not come here; the level of ice cream was below the mouth piece of the spoon!!

No printouts of o, no indication what order number, slow service, no milkshakes available, hot chocolate was like water, disgusting. Went to the counter to complain, nobody came never again to Macd.

Had to complain after waiting almost 20 minutes for my order to discover they hadn't started it as they had a issue with the burger. As soon as I said I wanted a refund within 5 minutes my meal had arrived.

Ordered a McDonald’s as a leaving party for a family member, and all we got was all the drinks spilled, wrong drinks itself, the wrong food. All the food was cold. And when we called up they wouldn’t offer us a refund, nor a replacement of our food, so our kids went hungry and had to make them something else to eat because of this. And our order was nearly £50.

Order a breakfast and given cold tea that had clearly had a tea bag sitting in it for a long period. The food was also barely warm which i put up with. Asked a girl working there if I could have a hot tea, she took the tea off me, closed the window and gave me what I thought was a new tea but by the time I parked up it was the same tea she had given me back! Went back through the drive through for a new order. Disgusting customer service you should be ashamed!

Incompetent staff who are incapable of pressing a button on till. Waited in line while they served the person in-front of me and added and deleted exactly the same item around 15 times, no idea what they were doing the person in front was also getting visibly frustrated with what was happening. Was then told I couldn’t have my order as they weren’t serving breakfast anymore even though I’d been sat waiting and had confirmed on the app and already paid. Best part is the manger who clearly thinks she’s something special let me tell you she’s not and clearly has no idea how their own systems work, told me I was wrong and it couldn’t possibly be that I’d been charged for the order, yes I had been the money had gone out of my account not as a pending transaction like she kept trying to tell me it was, as she could clearly see my banking and I’m blind right? Then proceeded to tell me she wouldn’t issue a refund and I couldn’t have any food. She needs a few lessons I think one in how to be a decent human being and talk to people and not tell them they’re wrong when they tried to explain and two how to be a manager cause she clearly doesn’t know and she needs to make sure her staff are taking accountability for their actions not just shouting at customers through her little window when stuff goes wrong and she’s too idiotic to fix it

The worst McDonald's in the Derby area. I'd rather travel to a pride park or meteor centre, then eat here. Order is never right. Either missing, wrong or cold. Drinks are never right either. Service is sooo slow. Dirty tables.

Absolutely the worst McDonald’s in the country. Any time you use the drive thru the order you get is wrong and have to go back inside. Any time you use mc delivery half your order is missing resulting in you being £3.99 out of pocket wasted on a delivery fee. Absolute shambles of a restaurant. Management need changing!!!!

Really dirty. Mud tracked up the stairs and an old dried drink spill. Restaurant was quiet but most of the tables upstairs were dirty. Member of staff standing in the corner chatting to a colleague on a break, didn't do any cleaning the entire time we were there. Order was accurate and hot.

Slowest McDonald's on earth. Go somewhere else even if you have to drive further it will still be faster. Lots of staff stood about in the back doing nothing

Terrible place poor management very disorganized I ordered a big Mac with extra sauce it came completely dry no sauce or salad fries were half empty and cold several other people were complaining about food quality and missing items while I was there to and the staff just arnt interested also not the cleanest place either dirty tables floors and overflowing bins I will be avoiding this place in the future

First time ordering delivery and chips were literally cold. Most food luke warm. Paid for extra dips that were completely missed. The included chicken select dips completely missing and no BBQ sauce with the Nuggets. Complete joke of a meal! Will definitely never be ordering for delivery again! Collection or dining in as expected however. Same usual good standard as expected. Remember to order fries without salt to get them piping hot and fresh every time!
