Meal before the show was an easy option. Menu didn’t hit a cord but limited time so we stayed. Choose a couple of ‘tapas’ plates - Jamon Serrano which was actually packet Parma ham and 3 grilled prawns plus some some bread. All disappointing. Our drinks were given foc as they arrived after we finished eating . Plenty of staff but felt inexperienced and slow.

This was a great find. Food was delicious, served hot and the waiter was friendly and attentive. We opted for the pre-theatre set menu which was varied enough to meet both our tastes and appetites Reasonably priced, good quality and the portions were spot on. Brilliant if attending a performance at Soho Place as is part of the same building. The restaurant filled up quickly after we arrived at 6.00pm so very glad we booked. Although full the restaurant was not noisy and had a relaxed friendly atmosphere..just what we wanted before the show

Food and service very good and reasonably priced. Coffee could be better.

Visited very early evening - restaurant hadn't started filling up - was given a table for 2 in the middle of the restaurant. Initially, fine as the nearest diners were a table away - but as the restaurant started to fill a couple were seated at the next table, so close they could have joined us! This is my only negative about the restaurant - the tables are far too close together and would therefore prevent me from returning! Such a shame as the food is absolutely delicious! I had the Truffle and Ricotta Tortelloni with Parmesan and Truffle Fries - perfect! My friend had the Chicken Schnitzel with Slaw and Fries which she enjoyed very much! We both had the Basque Cheesecake for dessert - which was very tasty and served up in a generous portion! The staff were lovely - very professional and attentive without being intrusive, we were made to feel very welcome and comfortable. So overall a lovely dining experience and would return if the layout of the tables were different. Highly recommend a visit for the food and service!!

Booked a table for dinner with my son before seeing the Little Big Things. Gorgeous, modern setting and fabulous food- the truffle tortelloni was divine! Service was friendly and perfect pace for pre theatre eats. Special mention to our server Theadora who was so charming, funny and efficient. She really made us smile. Will definitely return.

Normally if an experience is not great … I just move on. But dinner at Stars was almost surreal. Stars is in London’s new @sohoplace theater. We thought it would be nice to have dinner in the building where the theater was that we were seeing a play. But we were so wrong. The restaurant design is cold and chaotic. The service was bizarre and totally unorganized. The food did nothing to win us over … in fact some items were so bad we didn’t eat them. The first new theater building in London in 50 years … they totally blew their chance to have a quality restaurant in the building. But !! … on the other hand the theater is amazing and was a delightful experience.

Good food at reasonable (for central London) prices. Staff couldn't have been more helpful.

Booked a table for between our part 1 and part 2 theatre show. It was really quiet when we arrived and didn’t really pick up whilst we were there, although it could have still been early on for a lot of people. Got seated and order taken a few minutes later. The food was average and definitely not worth what you pay for it. No one came to check on us and see how our meal was. Quite a few staff to hardly any customers so I was confused as to why we weren’t checked on. We ended up paying at bar and leaving before our table could be cleared as they didn’t really seem bothered too.

Second time eating here before/after a show. The broccoli, olives, mushrooms, pumpkin ravioli and schnitzel are super good! Was surprised at how good this restaurant is, highly recommended!

Was truly impressed with food quality, everything was so tasty, (pork belly, truffle fries, cheesecake, duck etc), well presented, even service was fast, attentive. Also non alcoholic mohito was enjoyable. I'd definitely come back here again!

Ideal for a pre-theatre meal. Imaginative and tasty menu. We sampled the parsnip and sweet potato soup, the fish goujons, the chocolate mousse and the cheesecake, and all were very good indeed. With friendly and efficient service, I will certainly come here again.

The perfect spot for pre-theatre dining before a show at Sohoplace. The staff is friendly and knows you need to finish in time to walk upstairs for the show. The food is quite tasty, and nicely presented. In our party, steak, sea bass, and burratina were well-liked. (The green salad was a bit boring.)

Great to have a restaurant/bar with the theatre but bartenders are rude and don't k own how to make drinks. Literally reading off of a printed paper while mixing. Not worth the prices whe. There are soooo many bars and restaurants I'm the aread. Just sayin.

Lovely restaurant with amazingly nice staff, great food, but hardly any customers. Maybe word hasnt got out yet. Don't miss the Korean chicken wings.

Such a great find. We saw this place just passing by and didn’t know what to expect. I’m very impressed with the chef, the food is super-delicious. A lot of flavours, very fresh and innovative. We ordered the beetroot salad (2 types of beetroot and ricotta cheese was a perfect combo) and the quinoa salad with avocado was dressed to perfection. All the plates we had were very well crafted and with herbs that bring extra flavours, making this experience quite special. Our waiter Teodora was extra polite and helpful too. Definitely recommend.

Return visit Some great new dishes on the menu including the Mushroom arancini & Sea trout with Jerusalem artichoke purée. Of course, had to have the Brilliant Basque cheesecake again! Perfect for a client meeting. Looking forward to seeing the new show Brokeback Mountain next month followed by dinner. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stunning new restaurant and bar at London's newest theatre @sohoplace We enjoyed a delicious starter of Burrata and figs with miso and smoked oil, Crispy skin cod and a superb Burnt Basque Cheesecake from Head Chef Constantin Apostu who was previously at The Standard Hotel. Combined with a great cocktail list this is a great pit stop, theatre visit or not! Lovely, friendly service and so comfortable you won't want to leave!

Update May 2023: Return visit and excellent again. Such a fantastic location. Delicious food, great service, excellent acoustics making conversation a breeze and easy access to Elizabeth line. A win all round. Thank you. ____________________ Hidden gem! Most people go here for dinner before the theatre, but we were just out for a business dinner and it was excellent. Delicious food, friendly service and good ambience. Prior to the theatre start time it was packed but after that the reataurant quickly emptied. Really excellent for a business dinner and acoustics in the restaurant are superb making it easy to hear other diners even if it is busy. We were lucky enough to meet the owner who was able to tell us more about the venue and made it an even more enjoyable evening. Thank you. We'll be back.

Delicious meal and excellent service. Cocktails started us off on a wonderful lunch which was located so conveniently for exhausted shoppers! We shall be returning.

Fantastic venue and staff. Assumed this restaurant was part of the theatre experience only but it actually isn't. I booked this venue for a business meeting and my clients very also very impressed. Great venue if wanted affordable, tasty food in the heart of London. The Arancini balls were the best! Will definitely be visiting again soon!

Booked lunch prior to going to the Theatre. The staff were fantastic and professional. I had the set lunch and it was great. Even though the restaurant was busy as they knew we were going onto the theatre, we did not have to leave out table when we had finished our meal. Location is great as it as opposite the entrance to Tottenham Court Road LT station.

Miraculously good value for the set dinner menu: 20 quid for two generous, exceptionally good courses and 5 pounds more for the best warm rice pudding w/kumquats and herbs you’ve had in your life. Wide selection of well priced wines by the glass. This joint is a big surprise: not the tourist trap one might expect given its location at the exact center of the West End, in a theater, and given a decidedly touristy design.

Hidden Gem in the theatre building! Amazing Korean wings and the burger was so juicy! Staff are so friendly.

Great spot for lunch with a few clients. Perfect location right by the Tottenham Court Road tube. Really good value lunch menu which we chose. Delicious dishes. And lovely friendly service. Really liked the interior too - very comfortable and nicely designed and a great round table which is unusual but was good for a group of 5. Highly recommend.

The food was really mediocre. As we were seeing a play, we ordered from the speedy set menu, which may have been a mistake: starters and mains, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, were bland and boring. The background music was irritating as well. There are plenty of much better places to eat in Soho.

I went to try this place for drinks with a colleague of mine as it opened fairly recently. I wanted to see if it was any good. The menu boasts a Shirley Temple, something I've had in different countries and loved, but the bar staff were unable to make a nice one with the proper recipe. I called the manager to explain the situation and he practically threw the glass at me when he "remade" the drink. It still wasn't up to standard, especially for the £7 price tag. Then, we told the bar staff my colleague would pay for his drink (Coca-Cola) and then I would go over and pay for mine. They didn't listen and went ahead to charge him for both our drinks, but also overcharged him for something else. They charged him £16.10 instead of £10.60. When I told the manager, the staff shouted at us to say that we should have made it clear we wanted to pay separately. It was horrible. Then I had to call the manager over again and ask him to refund the amount owed to us, and he just snatched the receipt, went to the till, without explanation of what he planned to do, refunded the whole amount, threw the receipt at my colleague saying he's done the refund and walked off. No apology, nothing. It was disgusting behaviour. Then another staff member started making a drink and it splashed on me. I told him he splashed me and he said, "it wasn't intentional" instead of saying sorry for the mistake. Anyhow, I thought I would not let these obviously not looked after staff who don't care about their job bother me, so I said to my colleague I wanted to take some photos of the drinks and us, and when taking a photo, had a bar staff (blonde hair girl) shout at me to delete the photo because she didn't want to be in it. I told her, firstly, the photo is the direction of myself and my colleague and we have no interest in taking photos of her at all. She demanded to see the photo and I showed it to her, and she got angry and annoyed, but couldn't say anything because she knew she was in the wrong. It was absolutely disgusting service and they treated my colleague with disabilities like he was stupid because he has mild autism. This is unacceptable behaviour and the place should not be allowed to operate like this. Some serious customer service training is needed and clearly, the staff don't care about their jobs, so management better start looking after their staff if they don't want to lose all their customers. I will not be going back and certainly will not be recommending this place to my food network as I am a food blogger and foodie networker.

Good food; polite and swift if somewhat functional service (staff are very busy but we are definitely customers not people to engage with or to be made to feel welcome); over pricey for what is being offered. Would I go back, probably not.

Stars has a limited menu - presumably, to facilitate getting customers to the show on time - with a good range of options, including vegan. There is also a 'speedy set menu' of 2 or 3 courses at £20/25. The staff were charming. We weren't...

Great food, reasonably good service and great company!

Roast duck was dry and difficult to remove from the bone, mash had no taste, chicken schnitzel looked old and oily -1 star. The waiters spray soapy water on you while they clean the tables besides you -1 star The waiters are also very rude, I went there on Valentines and I asked a simple question about one item in the menu the waiter got angry and told me to go and sit on the bar area, totally cut the vibe, she was annoyed by taking our order and she kept saying "what" apparently she couldn't hear us or understands us at all and when she did she would make rude comments and faces... -2 stars. The place was quiet, looked clean and the restaurant welcomer was very nice and even charged my phone +1 star. In conclusion, I will not pay this amount of money to a restaurant that gives such a poor service and has tasteless food, therefore I will not come back to this place ever.

Wanted to like this place as it’s new. However: told we had a table for 1 hour 15 mins on arrival, for a dinner reservation when we were 15 mins early. We clearly weren’t taking up anyone else’s space. When I challenged this was rather aggressively asked how long I would expect a table for dinner. I managed to get them to give us 90 mins but this was meaningless as the service was in no way quick enough to get us done in 75 mins. Tables too close together. I don’t want to be worried about knocking over wine glasses when I take my seat. As a result, not only could either table clearly hear me question a 75 min table return policy but I could also hear the couple on the next table asked for their wine to be topped up three times (the wine was not at the table) I ordered a ‘small plate’ for my starter. The smoked salmon. It took three bites to eat. Three smoked salmon canapés would have been more substantial. My dinner partner ordered the burratta. This was substantial and very good. Chips and potato side dishes served distinctly tepid (not even warm). I had the chips replaced but hadn’t tasted the potatoes when I’d sent the chips back. When the manager at the end asked how everything was, he was embarrassed by my answer of ‘hmmmm okay’. Whilst he apologised there was no suggestion that he would make sure it wouldn’t happen again. Plus, £96 for three small plates, one large one, two sides, one pudding, one glass of wine, an AF beer and a coffee. Not an experience I would repeat or recommend

Portions very undersized and over priced. Nothing special and would not visit again. Had the King Oyster Mushroom, turns out it was just a single mushroom on a plate to the pleasure of £9.00. Staff were helpful and friendly enough

Went for dinner between shows as recommended when we bought our cursed child tickets. It was very quiet when we arrived, it felt very awkward as there were a lot of staff to hardly any customers & there was no atmosphere. Tables so close together I could barely get round to sit down. Menu was very small. I had the snitzel which came with slaw which was a good size portion & fairly tasty but nothing to rave about. Hubby had burger & fries which was the only thing he would eat, but he said it wasn't anything special. Shame as it was a modern, clean restaurant with potential.

What a fantastic venue. Visited for cocktails and dinner over Christmas and had a fantastic time. Great burger, loved the fries. Location perfect if in town shopping. Good value and lovely service make this somewhere we'll definitely return. Highly recommend!

Went recently with the Mrs , a nice cosy restaurant and bar , perfect for dinner and a show or even drinks only at the relaxing cocktail bar . Well priced menu and with some lovely stuff on it . Choose the salmon and the Korean wings which were both tasty . Then the Mrs had the ravioli and I had the steak which was superb the star of the show though was the carrots . They were delicious and I could've had a plate of them alone and be happy . The house white was excellent and complimented the food very well . Had a thoroughly good time in a well appointed spot with lovely staff and service . I'll come back again for sure even if it was for a drink . Might even take in a show as there's a theatre a few floors above the street level restaurant. .

Absolutely delicious food - everything was excellent and very reasonably priced. I had the Burrata/ figs and the burger. The schnitzel is also excellent. The staff were lovely and I received a simply charming welcome from the manager. Recommend highly .
