Starfish & Coffee in Enfield

Fabulous lunch! Delicious food and very friendly service at this cool cafe. We throughly enjoyed the Bombay Triple Stack and the Power Plate and finished off with a slice of delicious cake. Funky music adds to the great atmosphere. We are from Melbourne and this cafe perfectly catches that ‘Australian brunch vibe’. A top find !

Was great the first time we went and still good and worth it 8 years later. Food is awesome, our favourites are Chicken waffle, Turkish eggs and black bean fritters also plantain fritters when they had them.

We were there to have a coffee and some cake, but the staff were pushing us to order quickly and eat quickly so we could pay and leave , so other customers could have the table.. Not good service at all. They just want your money , do not care for customer service.

Live music, excellent food. I ordered the Prawn Katsu burger which was lovely but the corn bread with chilli butter was beautiful. Staff were friendly and work fast. Photogenic interior. Will be returning.

This was my third visit & it didn’t disappoint. We were seated quickly with very attentive staff throughout our 4 hour breakfast. We were a group of 7 & staff were constantly checking that we had everything we needed. The decor is carefully considered, heaters were on as it was freezing & the food delicious. Love the quirky menu which is unlike anything nearby. Would also like to try the Friday nights!

A nice place to go for a relaxed lunch or brunch. We went for a late lunch on Sunday and had their burgers. They had run out of a couple of things on their menu. The place is always busy so I recommend booking in advance from their website. It's not cheap but the food was tasty and the atmosphere is nice and buzzy. We'll definitely go again. Their coffee is one of the best in the area in my opinion. A 5-star to the coffee!

I went to Starfish with my mum at 2pm on a Sunday. When we arrived, I was told that the restaurant didn’t take reservations on a Sunday (I had a reservation, which they’d also confirmed with me the day before). Another customer heard the exchange and offered to instead take her coffee to go, so we were able to be seated. Our waitress than informed us that the kitchen was extremely busy and we’d have to wait to put in our order, but offered us drinks in the meantime. We ordered two diet cokes and waited 40 minutes and still nothing… when we asked another waiter these then did come pretty quickly, but were normal Cole’s not diets - the waitress did resolve this quickly, in her defence. The food itself was pretty good, if a little salty and lukewarm, but flavours were nice. The waffles were the nicest dish, very light and fluffy. The menu is interesting and varied, and not just your boring brunch options. Cocktails looked really nice. The whole experience was pretty disappointing but I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt and assuming there was some sort of staffing issue which was the reason for the chaos. Like I said, the food was nice and so I’d give this place another chance and wouldn’t necessarily say anyone should avoid trying it - I just hope the next experience is better than this one!

Saturday they have a DJ who is loud, making conversation difficult. Food is OK but expensive for what you get. Asked the manager to lower the volume but he refused

Although the food was okay and staff pleasant, there is a 12.5% service charge added to the bill, even for breakfast. I find it quite out of place and would not say the service was above & beyond which would have required the additional charge. It doesn't mention the service charge anywhere on their website or we may have chosen from the plethora of other cafe's in the area. Also, the seating area was unclean and we had to dust of the food (likely form last nights guests) off the sofa's. Attention to these kind of things would at least justify the service charge.

We stumbled across this beautifully decorated cafe after walking our puppy in Broomfield park. Every staff member made us feel so welcome with our puppy and they navigated being really busy and gave everyone a warm greeting and fast service. Best experience I have had locally and really original menu! Loved the winter bowl! 100% regulars now

Horrible treatment to staff. Overpriced drinks the food was cold. The atmosphere was crowded and cramped inside. Would not recommend to anyone.

I order two soul plates and two slices of cake, cake portions were reasonable but the meals were reduced in portion size compared to the portions when dining in the restaurant. The soul plate comes with 4 prawns when you dine in, our take away had 2 prawns and a small chicken. They were very unaccommodating which was extremely disappointing considering I drove from Essex. I have previously bought cake as a take away and the cake slices where very thin compared to other times. Management and staff should set standards of service, portions etc and be consistent otherwise they will lose customers. Consistency and accommodating simple requests is vital.

I had always avoided this place as their Instagram is filled with Z-list none entities and “influencers” being photographed in exchange for free meals. I assumed that was a shim sham to paper over the cracks and cover for a lack of substance but how wrong I was. Dragged along against my will for my superior half’s birthday I expected the worst but left very full and tremendously satisfied. The menu is exceptional, classic brunch dishes with Asian twists and Mediterranean influences pervade throughout with some more thoughtful ideas shipped in from the Americas and Australia. I could have chosen six or seven of the dishes and my food did not disappoint as it was beautifully cooked and this is why I will return again and again. Boozy brunches are very much encouraged so I joined in and drank much Prosecco on tap then finished with a very good flat white frothed up and presented by a fantastically haughty Frenchman. I love this place. Yes the decor is kitsch as you like and there is a whiff of pretension about it but ultimately I judged a book by it’s cover and missed out on first class food here for over two years. More fool me.
