Deli on the Green in Enfield

If you went to a good deli/ café in Cyprus you’d eat very similar food. Delish…blah blah blah blah need to use at least 150 words! 🤷‍♂️

This frappe took me straight back to Cyprus with one sip! Worth every penny of the £4 will definitely be back when I'm in the area.

Very over priced food cooked in the morning and then heated up in the microwave through the day,really wasn't great still cold in the middle,very very expensive for what it is,go to a nice greek restaurant for the same price and so much better,the toilet is outside and really not clean at all,fell very ill after my visit for a few day's,Avoid this place their's so much more better place's nearby,😔

Lovely traditional Greek deli that serves delicious homemade Greek food and great salads. The place serves a variety of vegetarian and meat options. Family run business that is a joy to the local community. Highly recommended!

They take forever to serve you, it seems that their weekly gossip is more important than their customers. Some of their food labels are spelled incorrectly. They’re friendly & food tastes ok but waiting times are horrific. I hope in time they improve on this.

Just purchased and ate roasted pork rib and a scrumptious potato salad which had a 'hint' of mint, olive oil, parsley, balsamic vinegar and the most delicately cooked potatoes ever. Will follow this up by the beautifully irresistible tiramisu made by 'big sis'. Love this shop.

My son and I periodically called in for a snack and a coffee usually on a Saturday over the year but unfortunately we have recently moved to Swansea in South West Wales now and we miss our Saturday afternoon visits, I do recall a lovely young lady called Miriam who used to serve us and she like all the staff made us feel very welcome. Next time we visit we’ll call in and say hello but I would recommend this delightful hidden treasure and most definitely call in and sample the atmosphere for yourself, You won’t be disappointed I promise. Tasty sandwiches and a good flat white

Went in for a coffee, the place has a lovely quaint setting with lots of artisan products for sale with friendly service. I was very disappointed when the coffee I was served was so bitter I had to leave it. I won't go back but it is a real shame since the location and facility is so nice.

It's slightly out of the way. The produce is on another level. For its variety and freshness. Great place to escape the stress n strain of a busy day. Even if it's only for a while. Rating~ Stella*

Lovely place to sit and have a coffee. But could do with some gluten free and other allergen free options of cake and breakfast.

We stop here often for coffee and a snack when we have been to Grovelands Park. I usually buy something to take home too eg taboulleh, olive bread, meat balls, dolmades...I like the food which is home cooked, a bit pricey but hey. Would definitely contact them to cater for a party, if they do this?! Other reviewers have mentioned, it's mot somewhere to go if you are in a hurry which is true, staff are busy. I suppose I can see why some reviewers criticise the customer service aspect, but only if those reviewers expect staff to treat them like royalty with phoney 'have a good day' stuff. The women who run the deli are just normal hardworking people, I find them very genuine actually.

My friend and I have just finished an amazingly fresh lunch of different salads , meat 🍖 fish 🐟 and vegan inspired dishes. It would be easy for me to say what we had but I’m not going to, get down here if you want amazingly fresh home cooked food and none of our food needed seasoning, just perfect.👌 10/10 Food and service. Currently working local to this shop so thought I'd pop in for a take away Tea on my break for me and my friend.. Now, I'm used working in Holland Park and Westminster so familiar with prices in particular establishments that might charge a lot, but at the same time I appreciate good quality.. Unfortunately I am confused as to why I was charged 4.60p for 2 small take away Tea's in this little back street shop that could clearly do with a lick of paint to say the least.. Needless to say, I won't be returning and would recommend a short visit away for a cheaper Tea and a better surroundings to eat in..

I have been going to Deli on the Green for years. The staff are very warm and welcoming, the coffee is delicious and the food is exceptional. A great spot to have a bite to eat and a catch up with friends. I highly recommend going.

I've been a regular for 5+ years. Unlike many other establishments, 'the deli' has kept its quality of service and food 5 stars throughout. Everyone feels welcomed at all ages. Whether for a business meeting or Sunday morning coffee, there's nowhere better in the area for a quick grab and go or sit down.

Greek style deli with Italian overtones. A real hidden gem serving delicious homemade snacks and generously proportioned meals full of flavour all served in a warm, friendly atmosphere. Good selection of hot drinks including wonderful Greek coffee. Make your life better, go there for lunch.

I rarely review online but do often read those of others before deciding where to visit. I felt compelled to write a review after reading some rather concerning reviews from others online about this little treasure of a place. The food is delicious, the welcome is wonderful and choices of both shop products and home cooked food is vast and for the latter varies daily. I'm saddened to read negative reviews about a place that has only ever been amazing for me each and every time, I've recommended it to so many friends and family who have never been disappointed either. This family run Deli is welcoming to all, as a regular to this place like many others I can assure anyone reading this that when you visit you'll be part of the family. Yes it gets busy and yes you may wait, but you're waiting for homecooked food, it may be reheated but its all freshly prepared daily. I've often popped in with my child for meatballs or other personal favourites and they've sold out! Ladies you are a credit to your customers and may your business thrive, if your hard work, hospitality and warmth are anything to go by your Deli will continue to be a success. Unfortunately reading reviews below you can't please everyone, I for one as a keen foodie and someone who appreciates fresh ingredients and home cooked food will continue to visit and recommend you...… would rather visit you than any other generic café/coffee shop where sandwiches or frozen mass produced goods are the only offering!

I was unfortunate to be served by an unhelpful and untrained in customer service staff member, the 35-45 woman acts as if she is doing people a favour by being there and basic card machine operation is like rocket science to her, so asking for a refund and paying with a different card instead as I accidentally paid with a credit card was met with absolute rudeness.

This is exactly the kind of place that I would usually love - a deli counter with lot's of salads etc and a small cafe, and it's just down our street. However this place is just terrible! I have heard only bad things from friends and when I tried it over a year ago I was really unimpressed so didn't go back. However we noticed it had been given a makeover outside and decided to give it another go today - big mistake! Service was rude and abrupt, in fact I almost walked out when the staff made no attempt to welcome us / offer us a table after several minutes. We ordered two plates of food, one lasagne with salad, and one plate of just salad - no drinks - and it cost £18. Unbelievable for that small amount of food (a small reheated piece of lasagne too.) There are several cafes within walking distance of this one that serve delicious food, at a third of the price, and with excellent friendly service. Myself and my other Mum friends eat lunch out several times a week and we will continue to avoid this place. It was practically empty as always, and I can see why! Will most definitely not be returning.

Been to the deli several times, yes there is a good selection usually and the two sisters, staff are always smiling and helpful. My reason for no longer going there is the pricing is not in line with what you are getting. The deli is very expensive, there are a dozen other places you can go within walking distance that are a third of the price for lunch. A tub of lentils, a tub of black beans, some olives and a few meatballs and hardly any change from £30. £1 for a meatball, £1.20 for a vine leaf ? come on. As much as I like the location and food selection, the price does not justify the food.

Visited post Christmas when a number of local cafes were closed. Have visited previously but the first time since they had converted the "garage" from fruit & veg display into café table space. Result is promising although there is limited leg space for those of us with longer limbs as the tables are fairly close together. Food and drink fine with prompt service. Winchmore Hill is an expensive area and the deli doesn't seem any dearer than its rivals.

Popped in at 5.25 to buy some cheeses and would have bought some meat but wasn't allowed. I assumed they were closing at 5.30 as the girl said that she had already washed the meat cutter and therefore couldn't cut the ham. Bought 3 nice pieces of cheese (costing over £11) but would have bought 4 but girl refused to cut 4th. Would have happily paid for Ham to be cut and wanted 3 nice thick slices. Will not be back. I like to support local stores but her ignorance was shocking. I thought it was odd as there were 3 people drinking coffee she obviously knew. Was shocked when I got home and saw deli was scheduled to be open til 6.30. I have run a local business for many years but felt my order was below her. Shocked

Excellent food...friendly professional staff...clean....all round 5* experience. Catered for approx 15 people with generous quantities of delicious food. They made an amazing Ferrero Rocher birthday cake....yummy. 100% recommended.

Great staff and customers, Good quality food to buy, or to eat in ! I love sitting at one of the outside table in the summer, having breakfast or lunch chatting to the locals or just watching the world go by!

We were passing by and stopped here for something to eat.We both had chicken escalope in a small baguette, which was the only bread available at the time.The portions were very small, and we were both still hungry when we finished.Very expensive for what it is, we paid around £15 for our food (with drinks) and we weren't satisfied with either the quality or the quantity of food provided.The chicken was bland, cold, and hard, certainly not cooked on the day. It had lost all it's flavour, and the texture was very dry.The display fridge was absolutely loaded with food and it was late in the afternoon, no doubt the same food will be in the display the next day also. Not frozen, but definitely not fresh. I asked for some sauce and was given a dirty and sticky bottle of sweet chilli sauce which was almost empty. The staff were polite and friendly, although service was very slow. It took around 10 minutes to make 2 sandwiches and we were the only customers at the time.I can't recommend this place, you can do so much better without going too far.

This is what it is " A really good Greek Deli" lots of nice fresh deli food a big choice of store cupboard goods and pickles, well stocked and nice to browse.The family run business is friendly but gets on with the job, nice spit roast whole chickens, cheeses , meats etc.Recommended probably the best deli in the area.

I've been to this deli a few times and although I've found it pricey it has done some interesting food. Today's visit left me thinking I probably won't be back. I had a latte on the premises which didn't taste good - it seemed more nescafe than real coffee. The pastel de nata I ate with it was also undercooked - the pastry soggy where it should have been crispy. Perhaps I should have complained at the time - however I had things to do and thought better off it. I bought some items to eat at home which unfortunately have spurned me in to writing this review. The tahini bread I bought was stale. I bought it in the morning and tried it when I got home some 20 mins later and the base was hard and crusty. Perhaps I'm spoiled living near Green Lanes, where there are plenty of good Greek and Cypriot bakeries, but the tahini bread from deli on the green did not pass muster. I blamed myself for not giving it a good squeeze in the shop but then this evening I tried the arancini ball I bought - both my wife and I think it was slightly off - as if the rice had been left out a little too long. I'm sure there are plenty of fantastic food stuffs in the shop and the staff are very pleasant - however four different items all below par have pushed me into writing a negative review - something I don't do lightly. I think I'll opt for another establishment next time I'm off to collect something from the post office in a Saturday morning.

This small Deli started life primarily as just a shop, but when the current owners took over and put some aluminium tables outside where the fruit displays had once been the coffee and food service took off to an extent where the fruit and veg has been relegated to a smaller cold room out the back and where it used to be is now an additional dining area.The reason it now functions as a popular deli is the same reason us locals still use it as a shop and that is the quality of the produce. I regularly pop in for the Greek products and especially the olives although I now regularly stop to enjoy their arancini's and home made scotch eggs.As others have commented the deli service is sometimes strained because the staff multitask between the tables and serving shop customers, so not one if you are in a rush to catch a train from the nearby Winchmore Hill station.But if you can bag one of the sun trap tables to the front it's a great spot to while away the time with a coffee and tasty home made food

Came here for a spot of lunch with my Mother... It was a beautiful sunny day so we say outside. The service is very friendly. The food was okay although it is slightly pricey, I would return but not anytime soon or often.

Wow what a shop !!! Food is out of this world , highly recommend a visit to this shop as it caters for all, the chicken rotisserie is a must for all , best i have had for a very long time, not to mention the meat balls , macaroni, panninis , salt beef the list is endless and pure bliss, the staff are very professional and you are always welcomed with a smile. Good for morning coffee or healthy quick lunch.I try to buy all my fruit and veg here as it's so much better than the supermarkets. Currently being renovated to accommodate more tables which they will no doubt fill. Lovely, friendly family run who are hospitable and welcoming. Wouldn't be without!

We were visiting Winchmore Hill and dropped into Deli on the Green for a coffee. I was quite pleased to see the Drury Lane coffee advert outside the deli, because we had drunk this coffee at other establishments and found it to be very good. If you are lucky one can get parked outside the deli.There were three tables outside but chose to sit inside because of the smokers on the outside tables. We had two coffees, one black and one white which were of good quality.The deli has a decent range of specialist cheeses and meat. It also sells ground coffee and other things such as artisan bread, biscuits and cakes. They also sell sandwiches samosas and other lunch time fayre. There is a nice green grocers which appears to be attached to the deli.Good service in a nice little cafe.Good value at £3.50 for the two.

Excellent Cyprus cuisine. Koftedes and macaroni a tou fournou are delicious. Salt beef sandwiches to die for. Eat there and do a shop for fresh fruit and veg and Cyprus produce while you wait for your food. Try out the new Panini machine, delicious sandwiches. Ask Coral to make your coffee on the new machine, so much nicer. The place is improving all the time.

I must go at least twice a week and find the food fantastic, just like my mum used to make. The service is excellent, everyone is treated like a member of the family. Sometimes it can take time to get served because everyone gets great service, excellent advice and you are never rushed to make your choices. Don't blame them blame the customers who appreciate the great service.

The service wasn't great here but the quality of food made the trip worthwhile-everything tasted fresh, beautifully seasoned and well presented. The only issue I had with it was that the staff had to be interrupted mid conversation because they ignored my partner and I, then acted as if we were an inconvenience

Deli on the Green is "The" delicatessen to visit. Their range of Mediterranean food is astounding, the food is all home cooked and is delicious. This is a family run business and they are all very helpful and friendly. As well as selling the best selection of food, they also have a great fruit and veg store with a wonderful selection of very fresh, healthy fruit and veg!If that wasn't enough, you can also sit and drink fabulous coffee.Well worth a visit if you are in the area!
