Starbucks in Erewash

Two Cappucioms … £7.60. Seriously? Long queues. Slow service. Anodyne atmosphere. Awful. Never again. No small wonder why their shares are tanking.

Spent a very pleasant couple of hours at our favourite Starbucks this afternoon. The environment was clean and tidy, with plenty of seating available. We were spoilt for choice when deciding which delicious sweet or savoury treat to have, despite it being quite late on a Saturday afternoon. The drinks were made perfectly, both the hot coffee-based beverages and the delicious fruit-based, iced Refresha. All staff members were polite, friendly and helpful. A special mention must go to a lovely young lady called Phoebe, who was exceptional. She was very kind and accommodating, and so patient whilst interacting with the youngest member of our small group (aged two). Phoebe helped to carry our food and drinks to our chosen table, and considered the safety of the young guest - she could not have been more professional. It was a pleasure to meet Phoebe, and I hope we see her again next time. She really did enhance our experience, and she is a credit to Starbucks.

The staff are miserable with attitude. Every time I go to this Starbucks the coffee gets worse and worse. We used to come here every weekend and the staff were so friendly. Since the other staff have came in they can’t cope with any type of negativity. Previously my husband came to blows with a member of staff after making a simple request for the toast to be with the drink. Her attitude was appalling as she stormed off and started banging things about. Latte was appalling today as was simply hot milk. I’m done with this one having spent a fortune there over the years! Not nice.

Haven’t visited his branch before, so was a little surprised dogs not allowed, when every other Starbucks I go to they are. That aside, not just this branch, but Starbucks generally, I feel the quality of the coffee being made has deteriorated in the last 6-12 months. It still tastes great, but the lattes, for example, aren’t being properly made. They’re just flat, with large, almost ‘soapy’ looking bubbles on top. Not just on this occasion at this branch, but almost all of the ones I’ve bought over the last year. I’m assuming something has happened with the training of staff. I’ve been an avid fan of Starbucks coffee, but have found several independent cafes that now do much better lattes. I’m hoping things will improve.

Visited after a trip to the local garden centre. How this store has deteriorated in the last 12 months. The queue was nearly out the door, and we waited nearly 25 minutes for 2 coffee’s. Our ‘baby’ drink, was done extra hot. Extra hot milk for an 18 month old!!

Absolutely atrocious attitude of the 'manager, Heather'. Discrimination against armed forces members. Thats the second time we've had an issue with the same person. Will never go back there. Should be ashamed of yourself Heather.

Who killed the soul of starbucks? This was my go to for breakfast as it’s on my work run. Recently it feels like everyone else says, it’s dire. And someone ought to care but they won’t. The training of the new staff leaves much to be desired, consistency is lacking and the quality of the coffee at the moment is terrible. Several times we’ve had hot milk instead of lattes but it’s easier to drink it than go back and be treated with contempt by sullen staff. Echoing others, it’s SLOW. You would think taking time and care would mean better coffee but it takes special people to take all the time in the world to not care about the end product. They only have one member is staff who really cares and he doesn’t work often. The store is falling apart and the stock levels are incredible. How a store runs out of clean bar towels and blue roll, cup sleeves, and napkins all on the same day is a mystery to me. One occasion there was nothing edible as the order had been ‘forgotten’. Not sure how that happens but it did! However ALL of that pales into insignificance when the most disturbing things I’ve ever encountered there was the overtly offensive tattoo of a then manager. If you’ve ever seen it you will know. If you havent be think yourself lucky ( thankfully this person has moved on). But it sums up just how little value is placed on customer experience when people behave in the angry, nonchalant way they do in this store. If you don’t like your job I hear you, but I just want a decent coffee.

After a 30 minute wait at the counter I have never witnessed such poor service, the three staff members stand chatting whilst oblivious to customers waiting. Avoid at all cost.

Charged the price of a grande matcha latte when ordering a tall size. Ripped off. Not going back again.

When I came to leave this review I didn’t expect to be greeted with extremely similar reviews to the one I am about to write!! I visit here maybe 2-3 times per week as it’s on my route to work. Each time I am greeted by a rude member of staff, which can be a different person each time! Today I asked “can I get a sleeve please” as my order is to go… the barista proceeded to slam this down on the counter, so far away that I had to reach over to get it. Bearing in mind I am currently suffering with a bad foot. Whilst I am not expecting this to be taken into consideration, I wasn’t expecting it to be a problem that I have asked for something that should be provided when taking away a hot drink?! It’s not like it comes out of her wages for god sakes!! This particular barista was a tall female with dyed reddish pink hair. If you don’t like your job then find another. You’re all working in a customer faced environment!! Surely this common courtesy and friendly manner should be part of your job spec. I will speak up next time but today I bit my tongue. Do better!!!!!

Really rude staff - not a cheerful face amongst them! No lol roll in the ladies toilet - asked at the counter if they could sort it, told “no, I have no power for that”. Really unhelpful!!

Rude unhelpful staff, scruffy uncared for place with indifferent Luke warm coffee. Do not visit go to Costa at the Meteor centre instead.

Staff were very rude. No greeting, have a very self inflated sense of superiority. Drinks slammed down on counter when served. No eye contact throughout. A disgrace to the firm. ADVISE TO AVOID IF POSSIBLE.

I used to go everyday to this particular Starbucks over a period of 8 years, the staff were lovely, friendly and helpful, I popped in today after about a year and was met by a young blond scruffy looking server who obviously found it impossible to smile or even talk. She actually didn’t even ask what I wanted she just stared at me. I asked her if she had a problem and she just smirked and walked off. It really surprises me that this girl can get a job like this with such a bad attitude. I wont be popping in again

I really hate to leave poor reviews for places but there was no pumpkin spice or salted maple so I tried to adjust my order accordingly and they also didn’t have any soya milk! It’s just not really acceptable, fair enough things run out but 3 things is just too many in my opinion. I was ordering for someone who wasn’t there so it made it really awkward and uncomfortable. It was meant to be a nice little treat on the way home and I left feeling stressed out. Next time I won’t bother - I have plenty of soya milk at home!

Wow the staff here are just rude! No manners what so ever, too busy acting like teenagers rather than doing their job. Wouldn’t use here again, the management team really need to look at their staff.

Where do I start?! On arrival the hand sanitiser was empty. Placed order and was asked if I was eating in, I said yes. Took my food and drink (no tray so it was a balancing act), started to look for a table and EVERY table had a sign to say it was not to be used, apart from 4 in a row in an alcove. Three of the 4 were occupied and it was too many people in such a small space. I was told to sit outside. I hadn’t ordered to sit outside, I wanted to sit inside and had told them that on ordering. Another lady was complaining that all of the tables were unavailable, upstairs was close and people were crammed into a very small area. The entire restaurant was empty apart from one small are - ridiculous! The latte was way to strong for a latte and had hardly any milk at all - it was almost black, the panini was under cooked and the raspberry swirl I shared with a friend was tough, stale and dry. Will just be visiting again!

Visited here today Thursday 6th May 2021. Ordered coffees and a toasted fruit loaf with butter and jam. I stood and got my drinks, the lady who was behind me collected her drinks and hot food. I got the girls attention who served me and asked if she had put my item in the grill to be told yes then she went down the counter and put it in. She then handed it to me without a sorry or comment. Such a liar and bad customer service

Covid19 precautions in place but by early-afternoon they had run out of certain items for their popular drinks which was a pity.

Went into Starbucks on my work break and my colleague mentioned it’s my birthday tomorrow in a conversation and the lovely woman working, (didn’t manage to catch her name)gave me a drink on her! Really brightened my day and just wanted to say thank you. They really do go above and beyond at this Starbucks and are always so lovely! The drink was also so good really enjoyed it

Busy morning, but smoothly run by Alex and Amy, with the queue moving quickly and well organised with social distancing. Plenty of food to chose from and great drinks to sit in with, again all socially distant! Great to see it back, great drinks and great service! Look forward to going back!

Coffee is lovely as always, no problem there. All restrictions are well thought out and clear. However the barrister that served us called Amy, unfortunately looked like we were an inconvenience to her, with rolling eyes! Felt very unwelcome.

I call at Starbucks Little Eaton regularly...its my favourite coffee house..staff are really friendly and helpful and the coffee is made perfectly....

I fully appreciate the current situation in the world right now. Having said that if restaurants are opening they should try and run a full menu or let this be known before entering the building.The staff however were really helpful. Looking forward to returning at a later date.

I have come to Wright this review as I attend this starbuck 2-3 times a week. There is one particular member of staff who stands out at this place and his name is Wayne! This staff member deserves huge recognition and gratitude! He remembers customers by name, makes you feel valued and never rushes you when you stuck for choice. He’s great at advising new drinks to try and Simply just goes above and beyond! Bubbly, smiley, chatty! I really hope Wayne gets recognition from me posting this as my god he deserves it! Never had a problem here! Products are great! Happy, happy customer x

Starbucks is Starbucks wherever you are, this one is situated just off the busy A38 in a pleasant venue,with views of the Traffic! Use this place every now and then and the prices seem to go up each time!! We tend to use another well known corporate more which charges a fair bit less than Starbucks (Doesn't costasmuch lol!!)

This building used to be a little chef some years back and occupies a good spot on a major roundabout off the A38.Every Starbucks offers the drinks and the snacks and it's a uniform brand wherever you go. There is an upstairs at this outlet but no lift. The toilets are downstairs and situated around the back of the counter in the far right hand corner. The car park is fairly tight but the turnover there is quick of people coming and going.

Pleasant enough greeting from the staff with quick service and drink was fine, however some tlc is required here, stains on the seating, perhaps it is time to replace them and tables need clearing when customers have left.

Lovely coffee from Hayley and Lauren this morning....been here several times and I think it's top notch!

Called for a take out coffee whilst passing and the elderly gentleman who served us could not have been more helpful explaining the new drink to my husband which was being advertised, the reason why I have rated this establishment is the poor customer service after which has been stated in another comment where a young man/ barista proceeded to make the drinks and without a smile/ thank you or anything just plonked then down after shouting what they were and walked off!! Felt a little deflated with the customer service!!!!!!

I love to start my Sundays with a visit to this particular Starbucks for a Flat White induced kick start. Wayne is an absolute star and welcomes all his customers with a smile

I get the best startbucks drinks from this starbucks.. they make it just right other places either have too much coffee or to much syrup but these guys make it exceptional... seating area is great parking sometimes is an issue.

I love Little Eaton Starbucks. The baristas make the best coffee and always get the temperature and coffee to milk ratio spot on. I frequent Starbucks quite regular & I genuinely mean it when I say this is where you get the best Starbucks coffee, they are not all the same.

Passed by on our way to Chesterfield. There’s a drive thru however we decided to stretch our legs. The inside is welcoming and warm. Staff were lovely, cheerful and friendly. Quite patient with our children taking quite a bit to decide what they’ll have. Sat upstairs next to a window with a view of the sky while enjoying a hot drink and cakes.. lovely!

Visited for a hot chocolate with my partner, staff didn’t even speak to us, took my name for the drinks but then just put the cup down on the counter and walked off. Place seems to be ran by teenagers today!

Just about to travel home to Yorkshire so popped in for coffee and fruit bread for the journey The young man and young lady serving were both helpful and welcoming Coffee and fruit bread was top notch

I called in today after a tough day & the girl serving me wrote a touching note on my cup. It finished the day off in a lovely way. Such caring & personal customer service.

I was a regular in this Starbucks at one point, staff always used to be friendly and the place was full.

This is a regular stopping place for me on A38 but no more! Totally inefficient, staff never smile, always have to go back to get cup topped up. Appear to have had no training so think latte has to be half a cup of foam! A disgrace to the Starbucks brand

We like going to Starbucks, but lately the attitude of the staff at the Little Eaton branch has been very poor. I think they could do with a few lessons in customer service!

We come here quite a bit and thought I would give this a review with a mention of one of staff called Wayne (I think) grey haired chap is really nice and makes you feel like you are walking into your local family run cafe. Drinks are the usual but with a patio area outside, we really like it.

Called here today having been here a long time ago. Busy car park plus a lorry blocking up trying to get into factory at side of car park. Got served quickly and was a lovely coffe.

Dirty toilet unfriendly staff, over priced for poor coffee, noisy. Bring back little chef it was a much nicer place to grab some cheap food and a drink.

This place is not really for us , having to drive off busy road , not really freindly staff , very noisy. Trying to get out back onto main road was a effort as traffic very busy coming off A38 .

I never stop at these places as I never expect much, but it was a good 'half way point' for a business meeting. There seemed to be quite a lot of people doing the same. We went upstairs as it was somewhat dark downstairs. My coffee was served in a huge mug, which went cold quickly and we were surrounded by 'bits' on the floor and 'grubby tables'. I was focused on our meeting, didn't expect much, and would only return for convenience.

Lovely cafe, great service, clean, staff friendly and helpful, good coffee can’t complain, if in area again would come again. My only recommendation would be please offer egg nog latte for longer!

On my last review I left I complained about the staff, and the cleanliness at this place. So much so I addressed to The Area Manager. Well I recently visited twice and both time the staff were friendly, polite and my drink was made straight away. Congratulations on such a turnaround and thank you.

The filter coffee used to be amazing here , can’t comment on the staff particularly but I notice concerns about cleanliness etc which is disappointing to read. Back to the filter coffee , it’s weak , unappetising and awful after taste. Clearly they have economised on this , it tasted no better than 80p coffee at a Funfair. This might seem petty but being a coffee lover this is about the 5th or 6th disappointing coffee visit here. You can always tell weak coffee when the sides of the cup are clearly visible at the top of the drink through the liquid , get a grip Starbucks Little Eaton , we won’t be coming back until you shape up

Good service, friendly staff, great location for meeting friends, it has a nice outside area too. Beats having to drive in to the city

I'm writing this in the hope that your Area Manager will read it and sort it.

We used to visit this branch regularly, normally after work. We've stopped going because of the generally unfriendly atmosphere. There is a nice upstairs area which is always 'closed for cleaning' from 5pm (the branch closes at 8pm). This means the smaller downstairs area can be crowded. The few comfy chairs are also closed off from around 6 with the tables stacked on them. The general impression is that the staff can't wait for the customers to clear off so that they can go home. We now go to a nearby Costa. Friendly staff and cheaper coffee.

Stopped here for a coffee on the way home from a weekend away and have no complaints. Coffee was fine and service with a smile. Toilets were clean and it was very busy - would go back when passing

Popped in for a drink on a random drive around, sun was out so fancied a cold drink...staff just didn't seem bothered and more interested in talking to each other than the customers. And when our drinks were ready they were pretty much thrown down and the staff walked away...no smiles anything. Not coming back

I have visited here, 2 or 3 times and each time the upstairs is closed for cleaning, but no sign of any cleaning going on. The staff have no idea at all that what they call an americano is actually what normal folk call a white coffee ! The usual con seems to be to ask if you would like a medium sized drink to charge you more, when in fact a small drink is quite big and cheaper. The staff are humourless and tables are always full of debris. The only attraction is the endless procession of lycra clad cyclists, who seem to pop in to use the toilet and leave ! They obviously have more sense than I do.

This is our local Starbucks and we were very disappointed with our most recent visit. There were dirty cups and tables that hadn't been cleared everywhere. It wasn't very full as it was a Sunday afternoon but there seemed to be no sign of anyone cleaning up!

This Starbucks is ideally located if you need a coffee stop whilst driving on the A38 - on the roundabout at Little Eaton. It is easy to access and has plenty of parking space. The coffee was fine - the usual Starbucks chain taste and quality and there is the usual range of casual foods to accompany. Service was fairly prompt and the place relatively clean.

Seating area is piling up with dirty mugs, plates and tissues are everywhere. It's a quiet afternoon, all the staff are staying at the counter messing about instead of coming out to clear the used mugs & plates away. They just can't be bothered. Staff served drinks with bad attitude.

Handy location to pop in if travelling on the A38. Drinks are obviously standard for a Starbucks franchise (and ridiculously expensive of course). The service is invariably slow, with staff cleared not trained enough. A couple of times my drink has been sat behind the counter for a few minutes before one of them realises that it's ready to serve.

As a frequent visitor of starbucks mainly in the Trafford Centre, Manchester I have high expectations, as you would startbucks is "Premium" coffee brand.

Quality Coffee for sure, but the experience lacks value because it's unlikely you get a seat when busy(and that's it's Achilles heel)

After hunting high & low for a store selling the new lime refresher that I'd heard about, I managed to find one at Derby.

I go here daily for my coffee fix, the staff and service is always good, I always get my drink that I want with a smile, staff are lovely always clean and tidy

I am not a fan of Starbucks and this visit reinforced my view. The building is relatively nicely furnished, but service wasnt great and the coffee was pretty appalling, not very hot and pretty tasteless. I had the special 'Peruvian' roast....which was 20p extra and still pretty poor.

Twice last week I visited this outlet. Although the coffee is up to Starbucks standard the venue is on par with "sloppy Joe's Caff". Tables and window ledges littered with cups, plates and other leftovers. I could understand the state of affairs if they were exceptionally busy but on both occasions there was a period with no customers waiting at the counter. Is it just laziness of the staff or poor training

It always seems to me that there are few places along the A38 for a stop off. So I'm glad to have found this Starbuck's immediately off Little Eaton Island. A usefully adjacent Subway too.

coffee was ok but tables were dirty and greay had to wipe mine with tissue before I could use it not the usual stadard at starbucks

I visit often and it is without a doubt one of the fastest and most friendliest services of all the Starbucks I've ever visited

Interesting place for a starbucks to be and to be honest its a god send especially in the morning on the way to work.. yes it is always busy but it is situated in a very busy place on a very busy road :-)

Visited on my way down from Newcastle for lunch. Very pleased with the service, fast and very efficient from the young lady behind the counter.

Typical great service and quality of food and drink - cappuccino with blueberry muffin always hits the spot.

This is a really busy Starbucks and no doubt the reason behind the expansion of ten car park and the footings for what appears to be a new extension. Strangely the space already inside seems to be really inefficiently laid out.

friendly welcoming grate place to go for a coffee, all types of customers from old to young familys to business. a nice little stop off just off the a38 the staff are happy to make drink however you like them.

Called yesterday for coffee and pastry. It was the first visit and will be our last. Staff were friendly but the place seemed disorganised, was extremely noisy and was very, very dirty both inside and out (not pot clearing dirty sadly). Not an experience to be repeated for us. On a positive note, the place is in a great location.

Agree with the comments about the kids completely, but I'm sick and tired of people spreading plans and drawings out and taking up space on my desk. So can someone have a word with the bloke next to me. Oh and whilst we're at it how about a blind at the window? The suns creating glare on my lap top!

Starbucks Little Eaton is my work office (no...honestly!)

(Last reviewed 14 March) This starbucks is always busy, and I presume in light of this that is why they have extended the car parking area. Efficient service as usual, but not much to add to my previous review.

Generally relaxed atmosphere and reasonably priced food and beverages.

You know what you are getting with a Starbucks, the menu does not differ greatly all around the world. Restaurant is clean, well furnished and staff are friendly, this is a busy little place and service can be slow on occassions. There is a small outside seating area and plenty of parking on site.
