I'm a charity supporter for charities of my own choice and at a time of my own choosing. It was therefore a surprise st Starbucks Charnock Richard on 22nd July when the till was seeking a different price to the advertised price of the coffees ordered. I queried the maths and was told 'It's a cup charge'. When I said they should charge what is indicated on the board the guy said 'It's for charity' . When one looks for the prices and sizes that's all you want to see so most customers won't be looking around the wider board for terms and conditions even if it is claimed it is shown somewhere there. As I proceeded down the line various waitresses adjoined the conversation and said 'We get this all day'. I replied that I am not at all surprised. YET ....... Starbucks continues with this practice. Coffee generally is becoming an alarming price in many places. Starbucks in Bergen was about 10.80 for 2 coffees. The population will have to draw a line soon and not be prepared to go further. I wonder how the Starbucks managers etc would feel re filling their car with petrol then finding there is a pump charge added...... be it for charity or not. If Starbucks wants to donate from their own profits they should do so but they should charge customers what it says next to the item on the board. And , incidentally, the queues were long and dealt with slowly and many of the table tops around had not even been wiped clean. We called at Charnock Richard on our return run on 26th. Needless to say we got our coffee elsewhere ( from a machine). It tasted just as good, it was cheaper and self-service was quick. The seating area was also queiter and cleaner Also no mandatory charity 'donation'When is the asking price not the till price cup charge!

Service was hideously slow. 30mins for 4 drinks with very few customers to serve. Drinks were half full of froth so had to return for a top up. Staff were chatting to one another, dropping things, not at all fussed about the customers or care for the drinks being made. Highly frustrating on what was a family treat. Northbound 1st June 12.30-1pm

Queued up for a tall latte on Friday Nov 10th. This one drink was advertised at a whopping £3.75... As if that wasn't bad enough, the server actually asked me for £3.80 When I challenged this and pointed out the advertised price was less, I was told flatly that this was the price for drinking in. When I told the server I was taking the drink out, he told me the price was still £3.80 to cover their cup charge. The advertised price SHOULD be the price paid. Isn't it illegal in the UK to sell this way? And Starbucks are not saving the planet by charging extra for a paper cup and plastic lid. They are already robbing people with their prices. Starbucks should be boycotted!

The staff must be on training, but basically he was very rude. He asked us name, so we said we are going to use Starbucks app it means our name automatically comes on the drinks. But the man said No, I NEED NAME FOR YOUR ORDER! it was shouting. His colleagues told how to do, and he shows his annoyance. I have never seen this kind of rudeness. The other staff are really polite and the drink is nice. But the man’s customer service may lose a lot of customers. Because I am one of those people who wish to go to another Starbucks, not this one!

On arrival we waited a few minutes as expected (sign to advise please bear with them). Three staff behind the counter chatting (well I assume the guy in a shirt was staff). Two then left and Ewan took our order, made the coffee and conversation and was lovely. Pretty sure there are meant to be two on the counter - he was a young lad and told me he’d only started 5weeks ago. He’s a credit to the store. Polite to all those waiting, managing the till, the bakery orders and making the coffees! I told him he deserved a promotion! Not sure where the others went - haven’t come back yet in the 10mins we have been sat. Oh bless him. And now having to sort out a till roll and apologise to the queue for their wait. He’s a credit to his family :).

Three consecutive weeks now, on two occasions left waiting for several minutes, whilst they searched for soya milk, which they subsequently did not have. Aside of losing ten minutes of my life, it's embarrassing to be left waiting so long, and that's after i had queued to be served. As a lactose-intolerant person, I have no other option. Please don't state supply chain issue excuses in your response, there's no shortage of soya milk on the shelves. I think it is frankly down to poor management.

Counted at least 6 flies buzzing around . Some on the cakes but most on one particular machine behind the counter. Disgusting - at this time of year that is purely down to poor hygiene . Filthy - should be closed down, deep cleaned and staff properly trained . Picture below doesn’t show all the flies - just a few

Shocked to see that 2 out of 4 Starbucks staff were wearing their face masks under their chin so not covering their mouths or nose! So they could have been breathing covid- 19 germs all over peoples drinks! The service was slow, all 4 girls were chatting to each other behind the counter and not making drinks or serving customers for at least 3 minutes while a queue was building up. All 4 girls had long hair not tied back properly. Most infuriatingly, after paying a fortune for 2 drinks they got the order wrong and neither my partner or I could enjoy our drinks. I ordered a cappuccino and a matcha latte made with coconut milk and a shot of vanilla. They put the shot of vanilla syrup in the cappuccino instead of the matcha latte so the cappuccino was too sweet for my partner and the latte too bitter for me.

We stopped off for a toilet break and a coffee. The toilets were clean and adequate, but the service station area felt souless and Starbuck's decor of brown and sage just added to the atmosphere. You felt the whole place needed some colour and life. Having said that, the service was good and the staff helpful.

Decided to meet at Starbucks Charnock Richards as an alternative to using an NHS site (to enable social distancing and avoid any possible transmission of Covid-19). However we all failed to see any signs saying there was a 2-hour limit to parking so all got stung with a Parking Eye parking charge (£100 unless paid within 2 days from receipt of the letter). We won't be calling again - Avoid if possible!

Great tasting Starbucks and I was pleased to be able to use my Starbucks card but unless you specifically state that you are a “Gold” member you will be charged for additional shots of coffee and syrups. Even when asked why the price of the coffee was so high I was told it was my responsibility to tell them - this has not happened at other services. Just something for other travellers to bear in mind - or perhaps the staff could ask Starbucks card holders if they are Gold members?

We were on our way home from Chester and stopped for a quick cuppa. However, we did not realise we had left my wife's handbag in the cafe and did not realise this until we stopped at Carnforth to get some shopping (42 miles away). We headed back immediately and fortunately the bag had been found and handed in. The three girls on duty were very friendly and helpful and we were really grateful to them for sorting this out. They are a credit to Starbucks. The tea and the hot chocolate were excellent

16/7/19 21:00. On way home from a girls holiday in benners for a hen do, popped into the services for the loo and food, thought we’d have a pop into Starbucks. I’ve always wanted a Keto pink drink that’s so popular in America, have never managed to have enough courage to ask for help in making one as other stores the baristas seemed so busy and impatient. Not this lassie! She was amazing, I showed her what it was online and she went through all the options with me to what could go in based on the recipe online. Was absolutely awesome. She was completely fantastic. Give this girl a damn raise. I really really appreciated her, especially at the end of a long weekend abroad, she was an angel!! And it tastes so good! ❤️ Cannot thank her enough!

We visited Welcome Break services for a coffee on route and were surprised when we said we were eating in that they only use disposable cups. On getting my coffee I asked do you then re-cycle these? - NO was the direct answer!I did not know that up North there were no washing facilities in a service area, but even so a disgrace they are not re-cycled. So SHAME on Welcome Break for allowing this and SHAME on Starbucks for even thinking this is OK.Needless to say the last time we will visit either establishment and to make matters worse the area we sat in was shockingly filthy with food debris that looked like it had been there for some time. Even if Starbucks were sloppy where is the Welcome Break management checking on this ..... all should be fired it was so bad.Visit at your peril!!!

Stopped for a loo and tea stop on the way home. My boyfriend ordered tea for me, coffee for himself and 2 pieces of cake. We got tea for 2 and no coffee. The cake came in paper bags, so obviously no plates. After a few choice words he got his coffee, and I had tepid tea. It was cool enough to drink in one if I felt so inclined. Plus is was seriously stewed but I had lemon juice with me to rectify that.

Staff were to busy talking, also people who had ordered after me got their drinks before me. My friends drink was done pretty quickly but had more or less gone cold by the time mine was ready. Travelling to Staffordshire we needed to stop and Charnock Richards was handy. We decided to go to Starbucks - where we were met by a very pleasant young man - Isaac. Prompt service with a smile and good quality reasonably priced drinks and cakes. I have a poor opinion of Motorway services but this one impressed me. The lounge area was spacious, clean and tidy - equally suited to casual visitors like my wife and myself and the busier business types who were sitting on their computers. When I was much younger we'd sometimes have a day out in Blackpool to see the Illuminations. Stopping off at Charnock Richard Services on the way was always part of the event so when we recently visited Blackpool, the first time I'd been for maybe fifteen years, I couldn't resist the chance to revisit. There are a number of places to eat/drink including a KFC and Burger King which are on the bridge that crosses the motorway. We however opted for Starbucks, which is on the ground floor (on the Northbound side at least) so doesn't offer the same view of speeding vehicles. We found a table with comfortable looking seating but a couple of dirty cups waiting to be collected. We therefore pushed the dirty cups to the edge of the table so they could be easily be spotted by any passing staff member. By the time we'd finished our coffee and muffins the dirty cups were still there, for all I know they're still there to this day. The coffee was ok, typical Starbucks, and the muffins were nice enough. The atmosphere is a bit strange as unlike most coffee shops which are full of people taking a breather in the middle of a spot of retail therapy this one was full of people with little to look forward other than another slog up the motorway to get to wherever they're going.
